Hi yozgatg,
first of all, a big thanks for this incredible ROM ! I used your R1.25 for quite some time, with no issues at all.
Last night, i upgraded to your R2, and i have a strange problem. After i do a hard reset, my device boots up as usual. After aligning the touchscreen, your D2 R2 Customization screen appears. The progress bar is proceeding to 50 %, then the device is rebooting itself. After that,i can use my Phone as usual. Nothing seem´s to be affected by this, but i'm a little concerned that the installation process isn't completely finished. I tried multiple hard resets to fix the problem, but it always reboots before the customization process is completed. Sometimes at 30 %, sometimes at 75%, but most of the time at 50.

I also tried flashing the new uploaded version from your .7z archive, still no change.

Any ideas what that could be ?

This may be a stupid question but I haven't found the answer... Ok, I know restoring Contacts with PIMBackup will cause problems to ManilaSMS.
But here's the thing: will I encounter the bug if I only restore SMS with PIMBackup?
I usually restore contacts and mails through ActiveSync from an Exchange2007 server, but then after that I restore my SMS via PIMBackup... Will this work? Or is there another way to backup and restore SMS?

currently, the manila port has priority over the rom
also, like you said i have exams coming up so i won't be spending much time here anymore
basicly, i'm happy if i can release one language in one week but it's going to take time and i don't want to rush it

yes there were some issues with volume control but it's going to be fixed and will be available as a cab

I have the same problem. The Customization screen not finish.
But it reboot and start whats look normal.
I install same progs totalcommander Weather edit Coreplayer.
Core player did not start so i try another version and was asking to remove the first. Answer yes but after that it dosent install.
I try tho remove by "remove programs" but thare isent any program at all to remove.
I do an soft reset ant mabye it helps.
But after that it boot att all. I dont remeber exakt but it was an text like press send to reboot.
I try press all buttons and after an while i came to the Customization screen and now it go to near 80%. The phone start after that.

ok there is something funky going on here your right EA games seem to work fine the monopoly i have works as well as spore, i havn't got need for speed underground. Call of Duty 2 works fine accelerated as well as Tony Hawks pro skater 2 both work but smaller games like wolf 3d and doom as well as smart tennis and worms, advanced brain trainer and so forth don't i'm not sure if its because of these ati driver you speak of or.. i'm not sure but could if you could is there a link to the original drivers for diamond that i could test to see if the games will work again.

i'm pretty sure that was because the RAR archive didn't extract an error-free rom image
anyway i re-uploaded the ROM with 7z compression that should provide a more solid archive so all album and flashing problems should be gone with this one

After flashing the re-uploaded rom it seemed alright at first. However at some point all icons in the start menu had disappeared and were replaced by windows dummies. Manually restarting the phone just caused it to start up the initial setup all over again. There must be something fundamentally wrong with your latest rom because this never happened with all the other roms I flashed the last year. :)

My customizations also runs only to the half but I think it's actually not a progress bar but an animation. For first time I was flashing this rom with my UC set but I had a bad xml so I needed to format the moviNAND also :D, but one interesting thing: the progress bar on the customization screen went to the end and then started again and it was only in about 15% and then the error with xml showed up, but I have the xml at the same end of the sdconfig.txt so I think it actually doesn't show the actual progress.

Don't use coreplayer but it happened to me a few times already. My phone is dead again and I didn't save the previous rom on the internal memory, stupid me..

Writing an SMS using the windows mobile inerface do not create me any kind of problem. I compose it in a easy way using EzInput Phone Keypad and the SMS is sent, with the notification. And ... I'm sure that the reciver "recive" the sms.

Writing the SMS throught the Manila Interface is simple as well, I get the same SMS DELIVERED notification but the reciver do not recive SMS.
This message is stored anyway in the SENT ITEMS of Windows Mobile.

Anyone have this prblem?
I'm using the R2, the only edit is I've installed EzInput 2.1 by Nikoan89.

ok i tried that its no different. I think it is something to do with the video drivers because in all the cases the audio for the menus of the games still play so something is happening but the video for the games won't come up just a white screen.

I don't play many games on my diamond, but I do like playing warfare Inc. and it suddenly doesn't work with 2.0....worked fine with 1.25

I just tried the reg change above and the same issue remains. The game runs in the background 'cause I can hear sound effects, but no graphics.

Anyway, it's not a big deal and this is otherwise a great rom. I can't believe how smooth manila is...amazing. Breathing new life into my phone. Thanks for all the hard work!

Having a Touch HD as well, I know that Manila 2.1 officially has problems with SMS - maybe these problems are in yozgatgs port too?

HTC has released an official fix for these problems and if you look in the Blackstone ROM section you can find a CAB that Duttythroy has made for the community. Perhaps this can fix this problem?

Haven't tried it myself, will flash this ROM later today. Hope this helps! :)

so it looks like i'm not the only one experiencing these problems thank god i was looking into mtty and i don't feel like going through all the ring roll of doing it on windows 7 if i was to come back and just have it not work anyway.

I had this problem with a load of roms recently too, and my phone got stuck in a hard reseting loop.

Went to do the MTTY thing with windows 7, but its just a pain in the butt and I resorted my original drivers, went on O2s site and downloaded the official rom, flashed that and there were no problems, I then flashed the rom I wanted and all is ok! :D

alright, here's an update on the rom (Gen.Y D2 R2.0)
the upcoming release is built from scratch, using diamond 2.09 as a base
80% of the packages are from the Rhodium stock 1.19 rom, the rest is from Tachi and some pacakages from the Topaz 2.03 rom
the rilphone included is 1.13 (standard radio in 2.09)
the video drivers are taken from the Topaz 2.06 rom
ALL of the known issues are fixed, stability and battery usage has been improved
also the new rom is UC (User Customization) enabled (sdconfig.txt method)

the only 2 things that still need to be updated are the NewContactCard (new one with facebook integration) and the manila v2.1 vga port

the rom will be released once the all new manila package is ready

I like your ROM....

But there is an eye-sore....in the messaging icon on the TF3D2, as it is not properly spread out width wise and looks off-set.

Please re-visit this.

After flashing , i've noticed folder named Windows in internal storage . Inside there was some dll's.
I always rename Internal storage to storage card .

Nope, I didn't. I've use Microsoft Outlook 2007 sync to restore Contacts.
That's all.

I am using 2.0 rom and I don't have any SMS issues, everything seems to be working fine. I didn't restore my contacts at all, just copied them over from my SIM card memory. Don't know if that made any difference.

Does anyone know if other backup software suffers from the same SMS problems? Sprite Backup for instance?

Make sure that the default clock in world clock is set to the same city as your weather. Changing that worked for me.

I've only been using this rom for a short time but I am *really* impressed. The responsiveness and battery life are fantastic. Also there are two small things that are kind of silly but I really like.. firstly, there is not a gap any more between the text input box and the tabs on the tf3d2 sms screen and secondly the facebook integration works! both are firsts for me :)

i got an error issue, i can backup all my contacts n sms using myphone backup. when i restore all my contacts, it just ok. but when i restore all my sms which is have 759 sms, it just stop restore at 99%. i close the program n i restart, the problem come. it can not boot. n i have to hard reset again. n then i try restore my sms using pim backup, the results is same. hang, n can not boot again. so how can i backup all my sms? can someone help me? thanks.

Same thing happened to me, found out that even though I security unlocked the phone and flashed the recommended radio. After flashing the new rom the Security unlock was no longer showing in the bootloader. Causing the same problem of reseting the phone, or not even booting. I reflashed the radio I have been using for months now and all works great.

First of all, great ROM, I've been using R1.25 since it was released and never had been major problems.

But yesterday, when I finally flashed R2 (from 7z file) + radio 1.13 + hard reset, I had some weird issues yesterday:

1 - I tried to change background wallpaper, but it didn't. If I choose and image, for example, it will appear (sometimes) as background only 2 or 3 minutes later.

2 - I tried to add some favourite contact at contacts tab, it didn't, too. And after some tries, when I choosed a contact with photo, it asked me to choose a new photo, then I canceled, and at the end, all my contacts disappeared.

3 - After 10 minutes, my phone was soft-reseting by itself. Then, sometimes, it hard-reseted too.

4 - After second hard-reset by itself, my phone wasn't booting anymore. It freezed at operator logo.

Today I've downloaded again both files (rom + radio) and flashed again after flashed a stock ROM, but had the same problem with background and contacts, then I came back to R1.25 + older radio and everything is now back to normal.

What could it be?

I think this ROM needs a lot more testing to be final. It works well in general but it shows a lot of instability and random behavior. 1.25 has minor bugs but it is solid rock!!

I am also experiencing the random hard resets and Programms which just go missing (or the links to the progs go wrong)

To help diagnose:
* Flashed the 7z and the recommended radio
* Hard reset after flashing
* reflashed to cover for bad flash
* using with Active Sync with Exchange Server
* installed RRS Hub, Coreplayer, IGO8, Twikini, Facebook App (1.07p), Opera 9.7beta
* MyLittleTank would not install

I guess it's back to the stable ROM until this get figured out...

Just 2 things:

RAM USAGE: Too high for my needs. Igo8 keeps closing for "out of memory", probably solved by cutting out stock, music and internet tabs from touchflo. It's about 8/9 MB on my diamond! still testing...

GRAPHICS PERFORMANCE: BlenchGLES_CE benchmark shows a result of 773 while with other 6.1 roms was up to 1370... what happened?

I have to agree MTTY sorted out all my issues and I must have installed the ROM +- 6 times already. I think a link needs to be put on the first post of this thread for people who are experiencing problems much like how BsB did with his.

Can the first post be updated with:
- known bugs in this ROM, so far two are listed but I believe there's more according to what I read here
- issues caused by non using the mtty approach

This would greatly cut down the number of posts.

Also it would be wise to make the mtty procedure mandatory before flashing this rom.

I experienced this as well. That was after I installed the new Radio on the new ROM. Until then, it was just fine. So I did a re-flash of the new ROM and everything is fine..

It seems to be normal? My devices also like this. But after a few reset, it was OK and glad using it right now. After several play, my memory usage reach 78%, i think still acceptable. Need to further observe
Ummm, well 78% is actually not acceptable, is it? You'd get out of memory errors in Opera, within seconds... Try pocketnow.com or a page that's little crowded..
And, what's a very speedy, nicely running, stable system good for, if I can't run my apps (Opera, iGO, Twitter etc) on it freely? (Just my point of view)

Simple - use another ROM. Trying to make this ROM work with video dialling will probably kill it!!
No, actually it won't. It would only need some beta packages :) (I'm currently using 1.25 with them, and apart from slide-to-answer and in-call keypad issue, all is really well.)

i understand the need for videocall, but it has not been supported from the very start of this project for the simple reason that the Topaz/Rhodium dialer has not yet been fully ported yet to VGA and the diamond dialer is not compatible with TF3D2.1, that's why we use the tachi dialer

for those who can't live without videocall, here's l3v5y's beta topaz dialer (quite old) which doesn't have a ported incall and incoming call screen

Excellent ROM. So far battery usage is excellent, speed is top notch and I haven't found any bugs. This is a first. Thanks very much for all the work Yozgatg.

When I reveive a txt message, the envelope in Manila won't show a "1" (for new message reveived). The only thing I see is an envelope in the top of the screen.

I´m confused how often people talk about sudden hard resets... and they wonder why that happened. I wonder how often they flashed their diamond before.

It´s really annoying reading the same questions a billion times again and again.

Once again, you get hard resets at nearly each cooked rom you simply flash.

The only correct method to flash your diamond is

a) you flash an stock rom - hard reset - flash custom rom - hard reset or
b) you use mtty

That has been explained thousands of times.

The second annoying thing is that everyone´s asking for conclusions to solve problems related to third party apps or minor important things concerning the layout of tf3d, weekday at the top, others ask for allbackground-cabs etc. or report bugs that aren´t bugs.

Isn´t the stability and a bugfree rom without any issue at daily use the top priority? Should´nt the rom itself first work perfect before we care about modifications of tf3d2? Does it make sense to ask for italian, german, french version while there are still some bugs in the english version that needed to be fixed?

This thread´s got over 2.000 replys and to me 2 of 3 are useless.

Let´s keep posting real bugs (not normal behaviour like the switching settings from personal to connection to system..., that was normal behaviour in one of the last official stock htc roms, so no bug) so that this roms getting more and more perfect. And after that maybe it´s time for localized versions, mods and trouble shooting for old freeware apps.

Just my point of view and although I´d love to see a german version soon I prefer to use the english one as long it´s getting better and better. With localized versions there might get additional bugs that were not present in the original english one maybe.

I'm honestly not sure what to make of R2. I was running 1.25 for a while and that was really nice - fast, responsive and clean (no OneNote and Java etc). Besides it had Opera and GoogleMaps uninstallable so they could be replaced with newer versions.

Now with R2 I wonder what the fuss is all about. For me R2 has some strange things...

- Sometimes the device does not react. I think "has it frozen" and before I can do a reset it reacts again. Like it "thinks about stuff for a few seconds" but I don't know about what
- Usability with 1.25 was better for me (battery percentage in task bar for example)
- I don't see any speed increase in everyday use with R2 over 1.25 - it may be benchmarkable but I don't see it in daily office work nor in my GPS navigation software

R2 has some neat features...

- Comm manager with more features to enable/disable
- New GPSTool (newer, than I found anywhere)
- Weather in calendar

I don't really know what happend under the hood. What's so special about the "new" manila vs. the one in 1.25? I certainly don't see it right away - besides the weather in the calendar. And because all kinda software is in again and uninstallable it's not as clean as 1.25

I think I'll go back to 1.25 for the time beeing. Maybe R2 will be a great rom when 2.25 comes around but atm I wonder if it's really worth it. At least I don't see any benefits here. I was really impressed by the 1.25 (with radio 1.09) version giving me a responsive clean device that was also very battery friendly (losing only about 5% overnight with phone on). I'm simply not sure what I gained with R2 - maybe I'm too much of a noob but I can't see it...

To solve out the problem about hard-resetting and soft-resetting,... just flash the original HTC rom, and after that re-flash the Gen.Y R2.

Speed dial from the dialer takes me to Phone settings app.

Workaround for this: press a key, and when the input buffer has that entered, select speed dial.

Youtube didn't work, worked after soft reset, but no sound is heard.

Otherwise, fantastic ROM. I had used 1.25, and this is a massive improvement. Waiting to see how memory management is on this; had a few out of memory errors on 1.25 with Opera.

I like the tool. It allows you to cold boot the GPS and such - comes in handy from time to time.

The stock details are really screwed, you can't even see the 1D, 5D etc buttons at the bottom. I'm going back to 1.25 for the moment. Let the cook concentrate on his exams (I can understand that very well, had to do it myself till two weeks ago) and when this is done a few updates should make this rom a nice one. As it stands atm it's not ready for prime time - in my eyes.

That R2 with radio 1.13 ist also quite a battery eater here - lost 10% over the last 5hours just sitting there in standby. The 1.25 using radio 1.09 would only loose 5% during the entire night.

Where did you find complains??? This is only fact. You're happy? Keep your flag and go forward. I'm tested numerous ROM's and did not have such troubles before. At present, I'm flashed original ROM 2.03 and can't see a reason to change it. "Stop it, stop it... " Start it, bye.

I followed the MTTY Guide. It seems to work. No strange hard resets for some time now.

Ok I have done some more digging into this games problem. for those of you who can't be bothered to go back a couple of pages to find the post, i'll explain it for you. there seems to be a problem with this rom and a large number of games. But for some reason not all. For example EA games that i have such as spore and monopoly seem to work fine and other games such as Call of Duty 2 and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 work fine as well. But other smaller games such as wolf 3d, doom, advanced brain trainer, worms (one of my fav mobile games) don't they will start a white screen will pop the music of the game will play but no video.

now i think i may have some answers. yozgatg you got me to change that registry value but that didn't seem to do anything after more looking it seems that the video driver that you are using is from the diamond 2 meaning that the phone thinks that it is 480x800 and the smaller games i have will only play at 480x640 but some of the larger EA games so to be compatible with all devices can play at almost any res.

so my thinking is if you can replace the .dll in the windows folder with the original diamond graphics driver instead of the diamond 2 driver it may fix it.
however I maybe totally wrong but i think its worth a try and i don't mind being the guy that tries it and has to hard reset his device i just want mah games to work!!

PocketGBA doesn't seem to work either :[ It somewhat worked in 1.25 but wasn't able to map any keys besides the directional buttons and action key. Now, the program runs, but only displays a black screen, so you have no idea where anything is.

On the bright side, everything else seems extremely smooth and I love how it looks like the Topaz/Rhodium TF3D's been almost perfectly ported to VGA.

Had some weird stuff, but all was fine after mtty. Btw, using 1.93 olinex.

The only issue i have is with youtube; don't know if its related but the same is experienced in Dutty's HD 2.1 manilla ROM.

I flashed stock 2.10 o2 ROM first, then flashed gen y about 12 hours ago and so far NO bugs :) admitidly I haven't over worked it but ive checked all the issues you've just raised and mines perfect. :D

I flashed my diamond on 05Aug and all its running well.
I tried another ROM with 6.5, but in 5 minutes I have not ROM.
This ROM until today is going perfect, excelent TF3D V2. Is a very big improve.

This may be a stupid question but I haven't found the answer... Ok, I know restoring Contacts with PIMBackup will cause problems to ManilaSMS.
But here's the thing: will I encounter the bug if I only restore SMS with PIMBackup?
I usually restore contacts and mails through ActiveSync from an Exchange2007 server, but then after that I restore my SMS via PIMBackup... Will this work? Or is there another way to backup and restore SMS?

Some issue found on this ROM:
- Clock setting is always changed to GMT+1 if we sync using active sync
- If we fix it manually, push mail not working (possibility due to time shift issue above)

This is a great Rom yozgatg! I've flashed it using MTTY and it works like a charm. I have one request though, could you implement the old taskbar icons( from your previous Rom)? Or maybe post a cab or something.

hey all, i know that i've not been updating this thread alot but here's the deal: with my exams coming up i don't have much spare time left and as i said before, the manila port currently has priority, so the development of the rom + the release of other languages will for now be delayed for an indefinite amount of time
the only thing i will do (before my exams start hopefully) is release an NLD rom (since that's also the language i'm using myself) so NLD users rejoice
+ i will do my best trying to get an updated cab out for the taskbar icons

Jupp, same here. I just noticed I had a missed call. But the phone was always at arms lenght and not set to silence. Strange...

I also have this. Just noticed it today. I have 3 missed calls, all of them with the volume up and sitting 3 feet from me. I did change ring-tone to [Ring-generic2].

The earlier aliasing issue on horizontal lines cleared itself up after I changed wall papers and restarted.

This ROM is awesome! but I had some issues with it so far after using it for a day...

After using it for awhile and then restarting my Diamond got stuck on the bootscreen and wouldn't boot up until I hard reset it... of course this resulted in losing all my data which sucked...

A couple of hours later, the phone got suck and nothing responded, which included the screen and all the hard buttons.
I reset it using the reset button and it booted saying something corrupted (not exactly remember what it said).
After that it restarted and went into the setup process again but fortunately did not lose my data, but lost most of the settings...

Hopefully there will be a fix for this soon... or hopefully it doesn't do the same thing again.

installed it yesterday :) so far so good. I use PIMBackup all the time but I use the WM build in sms to send txt so the Manila issue doesn't affect me.

Ok I have done some more digging into this games problem. for those of you who can't be bothered to go back a couple of pages to find the post, i'll explain it for you. there seems to be a problem with this rom and a large number of games. But for some reason not all. For example EA games that i have such as spore and monopoly seem to work fine and other games such as Call of Duty 2 and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 work fine as well. But other smaller games such as wolf 3d, doom, advanced brain trainer, worms (one of my fav mobile games) don't they will start a white screen will pop the music of the game will play but no video.

now i think i may have some answers. yozgatg you got me to change that registry value but that didn't seem to do anything after more looking it seems that the video driver that you are using is from the diamond 2 meaning that the phone thinks that it is 480x800 and the smaller games i have will only play at 480x640 but some of the larger EA games so to be compatible with all devices can play at almost any res.

so my thinking is if you can replace the .dll in the windows folder with the original diamond graphics driver instead of the diamond 2 driver it may fix it.
however I maybe totally wrong but i think its worth a try and i don't mind being the guy that tries it and has to hard reset his device i just want mah games to work!!

You can do this without problems. There's a chance though that PIM Backup will freeze the phone on completion. Just soft reset and everything is good. Have done this several times now.

If the massage contains a link or phone number, they are now shown blue (great!), however, the color is so dark, on the standard background it is almost unreadable.

This has happened twice to me today. I flashed using mtty, task 29 (as I always have), hard reset twice after.

After a little while, the Manila clock went back by 2 hours. Checked system time in both manila and windows mobile. Time is correct and so is the time zones. Re-saving the time sorted it (temporarily it would seem).

This didnt happen on the R2 preview roms that I tried, albeit the final preview I only used for a day or so.

I experienced this as well. That was after I installed the new Radio on the new ROM. Until then, it was just fine. So I did a re-flash of the new ROM and everything is fine..
I am sticking to this ROM :D

Configured
Set time / time zone, regional
Installed nodata
Restored sms messages/pim backup
Delete partnership of pc
Resync with activesync new partnership

tsowen taskbar icons are not yet included in this ROM because there's a compatibility issue... So maybe that's the reason why you have this bug?

Hi All,

To everyone that is having the no ring tone issue, please can you see if you have MS Voice Command (MSVC) or other voice command program installed? I had the same issue with no ring tones being played when a call came in to my phone. I listened carefully and all I could hear was the MSVC prompt sound. I removed MSVC and now I can hear incoming phone calls.

Don't know if this helps anyone else but it worked for me.

Actually I feel good about this "approximation" bars. It feels so sick to see battery power drops down percentage after percentage.:)
If I want to see the accurate percentage, I just click on the icon to get the notification menu.

This would greatly cut down the number of posts.

Also it would be wise to make the mtty procedure mandatory before flashing this rom.

I agree, when first installed the rom was ok but had a couple of niggles, namely one thing was the Wi-Fi button was always greyed out, so I went ahead and completed the mtty procedure and this and a few other minor issue have cleared up and rom is now the best I've flashed on my diamond to date.

First off all, i have to say, rom is almost perfect. I have no issues wih album, also with missed calls - only once happened that phone raised error message, that ring tone is demaged and set it to standart ring tone. Soft reset did the thing.

I have noticed only one issue - could not scroll till bottom in favorite people tab.

battery life is perfect, responsiveness is perfect, also no resets here. I`m using attached radio 1.13 and HardSPL olipro 1.43

I did not really change anything, but now its working properly.

I found a few bugs:

- in landscape mode, the Manila is not fully VGA :( I can't see the checkboxes in the "deeper" parts of Manila (ex. in the manila sms part, when I click on "Menu" and then "Messages Options" I can't see the checkbox.)

- also the Manila-Menus are cut off on the right side in landscape.

- in the Album Application, there are some graphics missing.. in portrait (haven't testet it in landscape :/) the lower buttons for back/slideshow/mail/menu are missing (I've copied the OEM files over to the \Windows\ folder and now it works :) )

OK, re-downloaded the ROM, reflashed using the MTTY although using the task commands as already discussed on here not my usual task 29.

Setup as I did before only this time used microsoft my mobile to get my text messages back. So far so good, not had the issue with manilla time. The dual volume control is down to the tsowen toolbar that I have installed.

After that procedure i directly tried again to run a youtube vid and now it works fine. via wifi btw.

Only solution for me so far is re-enabling manilla (goto settings, customize tabs and change anything)

Seems to be a broblem with refreshing? Manilla mail also sometimes doesn not adjust the amount or unread messages after reading several new mails,maybe same issue?

Not sure if this is already mentioned. If the contact list in the touchflo tab becomes too large (more than 5) then the list disappears behind the touchflo bar at the bottom. Scrolling all the way down is possible but then the cursor sticks behind the bar. This is probably a result of the adaption of touchflo 2.1 to 640x480 resolution. It is not a big annoyance but it would be nice if it can be fixed. :)

Overall this rom is very good, one of the best up-to-date roms I ever used. Who needs a TD2 now?! :D

Download my message tab patch from yozgatg's thread about the Manila 2.1 VGA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4285461&postcount=515)!
There's a few minor issues with the message tab in both portrait and landscape modes with this Manila 2.1 port. I've made some corrections och fixed these issues:

Portrait mode:
* Messages are now cropped properly instead of continuing behind the tabs
* Messages is now correctly positioned
* The MMS (attachment) icon is now correctly positioned
* "No messages" is now centered

Landscape:
* Messages are now cropped properly instead of continuing behind the tabs
* Message position is now correct
* The arrows in landscape mode is correctly positioned
* "No messages" is now centered
* The animation when flickering trough messages is now correct; instead of the earlier diagonal behavior the message animation is top-bottom and/or bottom-top depending on scrolling direction

I'm attaching the fix in two formats, for use with your preferences:
1) a CAB file for auto-installation
2) A zipped, compiled manila file (for cooking or manual copying to \Windows)

Note: you'll need to restart Manila/TF3D for any changes to take affect.

I had this problem a second ago. Was really sluggish but is now fine again. Wasnt doing anything on the phone, no apps running.

Just for information.

I tried the R2 with the 1.13 Radio. I am on Telstra NextG in Dubbo Australia. I noticed that while I use the 1.09.23.25 Radio I normally get around 2.5 Days out of my extended battery. Using the 1.13 Radio I had already gone down to 43% after 1 day.

I have put 1.09 back on and its ok again. Doesn't seem to cause any issues with the new ROM.

I really like this rom so far. I have one problem I have come accross so far which is the installing of Viigo.

I get an install "NETCFv35.Messages.EN.cab" error.

Has anyone else got this problem installing apps?

For me, this is very close to a bug-free ROM, more than good for every day use. I believe most of the problems reported come from bad flashes, not using mtty, incompatible third-party apps (like PIMbackup), incompatible manila mods (like tsowens task icons) and general incompetence on the user side that the user blame on the ROM. The ROM is good and really snappy for me, the best ROM I've used on my Diamond during this whole year that I've had it.

I have had no missed calls, no random resets, clock and youtube works fine. Memory is usage is not higher than other ROMs I've used with manila 1(!): mostly below 70% even though I use S2U2 and some other resident programs. I have to say this is really excellent for a ROM running manilla 2.1!!! :eek:

The only issues I've found are mostly cosmetic and negligable, like the double lines below taskbar and no security menu in bluetooth settings. Also, since I use a transparent slider I can see that some tabs go behind the slider. I found battery drain a bit high with the recommended radio, but radio performance is location dependant so that's not strange and it's not the ROM's fault.

Thank you yozgatg for a really great ROM. You've done what no-one else could - ported manilla 2.1 to VGA - and put it into a really snappy ROM. This might make me keep my Diamond and sell my Blackstone! :)

By far THE best ROM I'v had (I'v flashed alot)... Only issue is after using clear ram the Manila does not start or "hangs"... but I'll look for the fix...

Also the WiFi was grey at the beginning on the CM, but now playing with Wifi monster (or what it was) it has come alive...

As I got a critical memory warning 2 times today and youtube said that I´m low an memory, I wonder if reducing the pagepool to 8 MB maybe would help?

Has someone tried reducing the default pagepool from 12 to 8 MB? And if so is there a significantly loss of performance or other problems?

I often use tomtom and for a few days navigon (can´t decide which one will be first choice in the future). Would be a pain to flash again with 8 MB PP and setup all software and settings just to see that on the one hand I lose a lot of performance and on the other hand I get new problems I did´nt have had before.

Oh and the youtube app worked this morning, right now it does´nt. To me it seems to work after a softreset but after some hours of usage it doesn´t play any videos. Do you experienced the same problems?

Edit: I flashed using MTTY. I don´t have any strange problems, spontaneous hard resets or not regular behaviour that would point to a wrong/faulty flash.

This ROM is running beautifully, only bug I have other than a couple of cosmetic ones is the youtube issue. Only reason I wanted to mention this as Im aware many people already have is that I believe people are complaining that it wont play videos but my youtube app is completely terminating the app and dumping me back to the start menu. Is this what everyone is experiencing?? mine wont even tell me theres an issue. Just bombs out the minute I click on ANY video??

download this OEM package (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=173897&stc=1&d=1239139345) unpack all the files to your internal storage and copy the files with resco explorer oder TotalCommander to your \windows\ folder :)

for those having problem with phone ring:
uninstall tsowen taskbar or delete HTCVolumeControl.dll from Windows directory, if you are unable to delete it or uninstall, here's what I did: I have run the tsowen taskbar cab file and then comfirmed uninstall but it said unable to uinstall so I pressed OK and installed it again to main memory and after soft-reset it was gone!

I also modified the cab file so it doesn't affect ringer, but you won't have the tsowen sound icon

Only solution for me so far is re-enabling manilla (goto settings, customize tabs and change anything)



Not with me, once re-enabled it keeps on working, thus far for a few hours.

Seems to be a broblem with refreshing? Manilla mail also sometimes doesn not adjust the amount or unread messages after reading several new mails,maybe same issue?

So I've flashed the ROM and thanks again for all the hard work in the ROM.

Thus far here's my 2 cents on the ROM ...

- '55% memory used' is a little misleading. 55% withOUT running TF3Dv2 maybe. With TF3D2 running, it's about 60-65% memory used, right after flash, without anything else installed.

- Even then, the ROM runs pretty slick. Every now and then it 'hesitates', but for the most part it is a fast ROM, especially considering TF3D2 is a real memory hog

- After fully-loading it up with my 'usual apps', which include MS Voice Command, PhoneAlarm, TouchPal SIP etc, it runs between 70% to 85%. This is about the same as I had on my last ROM (Dia Duit) ... maybe even a little higher.

- the ROM is pretty slick and pretty stable for the most part. However, I wish there's a "lite" version without google map, IE, Opera (I'd rather install my own), games, and most of the SIP's. I think it'll run even faster in that case.

- The facebook integration works flawlessly!


Now, I did run into a few bugs ...

- First of all, you MUST MTTY before you flash the ROM. I initially tried a straight flash-over my last ROM, and had the PDA kept hard-resetting on me.

- YouTube does not work. It says "YouTube cannot play this video" regardless of what video I choose.

- Initially I could not connect to 3G. Ran the connection wizard 3 times and then it worked

- TF3D has some bugs. There are times when the bottom softkeys are stuck at "Reply Menu" regardless which tab I'm on. There were also a few times when the whole TF3D2 screen would have 'dropped' to the bottom of the screen, so that the 'tab bar' is barely visible. Restarting TF3D2 fixes this.

- I thought in the Rhodium TF3D2, the "Calendar bar' would also show weather of the day if the selected day is within a week?

- Have a problem with MSVC that I'm still working through. Somehow MSVC will not make announcement through the BT headset. I can make command by pressing the BT headset button, and it will repeat / response to my command with the headset. Just won't make announcement when a call comes in or when an appointment reminder comes up. I have all the BT settings right.

- Does the DisableManilaMenu now work? I think the posted file is still the wrong file that enables push internet instead?

- The phone ALWAYS turns off the screen after a call is connected. Even running NoSleep!!.cab doesn't fix it

- ActiveSync is ALWAYS on for whatever reason. I tried different AS killers but it still pops up all the times. I know AS is an annoying problem, but there are ROMs out there that can kill it when not in use.


All in all I think it's a solid ROM, and thanks a lot for the good work. It's one of the better, and more feature-rich ROM's out there with TF3D2. Compared to my old ROM, I think the biggest upside is the facebook integration works 100%. I think a "Lite" version of the ROM would be a good next step though.

Indeed my brother has a topaz, and I like my diamond more than his.
His diamond2 has now the same ui and manila as mine, so it's useless to buy such an expensive phone if you can get the same ui for much less money.
The topaz is too bulky in my opinion, and the cover feels not solid enough.
Okay, you get a better resolution, and the topaz has got more memory, but it certainly isn't worth the money.
I think it's a crappy phone, you'd better buy a hero or wait till another (HTC, of course) phone comes out.
But it's not up to me to decide that;).

if you don't want your screen to turn off during call, use touch in call screen tweak, it will automatically turn your screen on and off depending on the g-sensor, and if you want the screen to be always on, you can set there to ignore first screen off and then on the second tab check always on

Yes, i noticed it too. I also tweak it using DiamondTweak but no avail.
It still screen off during a call.

I'm using Touch InCall Screen Tweak. Keep the default settings. Screen still turns of when calling, however when you keep your diamond in front of you (horizontal), the screen switches back on.

This cab won't work. The cab sets the registry entries the same way Diamond Tweak/Advanced Config does.
