Samsung ACE SPH-i325 changing carrier and updating to 6.1

Hi I va a smasung Ace locked with bell canada but is not active with them at this point, I've cancelled Bell of course like everyone ellse. My plan is to swich it to Telus. Now I've managed to get some info from bell prior my cancellation. Here is the list of codes I have

##8778# to swich my phone into modem
##3282# service menu for this one i need it msl number wich i got from Bell asking how to program the phone, and they answered ##616879#

Im guessing i could port my phone to Telus since i have all the access i need it but what about upgradin to 6.1? does anyone have an idea where should i start looking for clues? and can i backup my current phone ROM just in case I screw'd up upgrading it?

I have the same phone(samsung ace i325)but in us with sprint here is the win mobile 6.1 upgrade which enables the gps .......... http://www.samsungmobileusa.com/i325/upgrade/
You have to back up your data with active sync 4.5 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/ActiveSync-download.mspx
and then install the rom if anything happens when u do a hard reset u will go back to the one u have now.

Last few days ago I tried to upload windows mobile6.1 for my Samsung SPH-I325 but while uploading my PC was shutdown suddenly. After that my phone could not boot up and "Samsung" and "www.samsungmobileusa.com" appear on my phone screen. I tried to do the hard reset but it did not work. Could you please help how I can do to upload the WM again in my phone? Thanks in advance...
