My poor diamond needs a new rom - but what's with the warrenty?

Hi,
I have HTC Diamond from Orange™, with insurance and all that..
If i change to another rom than 1.93 I lose the insurance and warrenty.
The thing is - the device is poor...a bit slow and I want to try another rom.
Also the manilla is taking alot of space, while im not using it (SPB MS3).
If I now backup my ROM,
change the hspl and all that, Install a new rom.
And in the future I need to give the device to orange because of some fault or error I have,
If I restore the old rom I had, which I backed up, can they tell the difference and see I did something ?

I really want to find some better and faster rom, but without losing my warrenty.

Besides that, in what cases I *cant* restore to another rom?

and the warrenty is void....but
you can flash back to stock if you need too.

you have you answer.....you can update to the lastest offical rom ( use search button...its your best friend here )
