Hi,

Since i couldn't find any rom that's fit all my needs, I started creating my own a few weeks ago.

After doing some BASIC tests i thought some people may be interested in it, so here is it : based on the Diamond-GSM-Kitchen-21806-R2.00 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=516115). (Thanks lobsterdave for this )

The latest rom build for Gen.Y was 21725, maybe he released the newer build your going on about in his kitchen i dont know. And the answer to your other question is no you dont have to flash a stock rom, thats only nessasary if your having problems with your current rom, for exmaple problems with random hard resets etc.

I am very much impressed with the screenshots and i am going to flash my device with your rom soon. But before that can you please tell me what the known issues i might face with this rom are?

I flashed this Rom into my device earlier today, but the problem is that ever since i flashed this rom, i am not able to receive any signal. I tried to select the operator manually but i keep getting a warning messgae saying that i am unable to register in the selected network. Help me out guys


EDIT: Never mind.....got it working. Had to change the Band settings was set as WCDMA. Was just a matter of switching it back to gsm. The ROM is nothing but AWESOME!!!

When installing, it did 2 hard reset (I think because it was still connected to the computer) and finally started but then I had a error message telling me it had done a mistake installing the phone canvas. The problem was I couldn't close this message. I stopped my discovery there :(

Try another hard reset an then install the canvas. But before you install the canvas make sure its for 6.5 and not 6.1

this rom seem to be perfect as it really good, but after flashing, too many probem occurred, always hang with no respond, hard reset to factory setting still have this problem, also too much error report generated, it made me crazy... i have even tried to restore it more than 10 time hope that it can work without those problem, and finally it was totally crashed, hold in "Touch Diamond" screen for about 10mins, and a error message come out saying that i can't load into the main screen because my device have not shut down correctly or i have used some program that was come from unknown source... so sad to see this happen, now i flashed back to the old rom, which i can use the phone now...

i hope those bug can be solved, coz i really like that rom.... i will use again if new version is come up...

Too many crashes. OSRemind had error and did not open. Cant change the keyboard to TD2 phone pad which was poosible in Gen Y129. Started hard reset which was also not smooth. I'm back to GenY 129.

Great work!

A few issues / suggestions:

1) cprog.exe crashes
(phone) crashes quite often after phone use, it doesn't cause any specific problems, but there's obviously an error somewhere, and the reporting is annoying!

2) Keypad and arrows missing
It's not possible to switch to keypad, and also it would be nice to have a choice of the keyboards 'with arrows' as well.

3) Facebook tab and integration
It would be good to have facebook tab and integration switched on, or at least the possibility to do it easily turn it on!

4) Call history tab
It would be cool to include this tab for ease of use, so we don't have to go through so many steps to trace, check, and call back people!

5) Default themes
I'm having difficulty finding the default themes, which I personally prefer (mainly because I prefer not having colours in the main bars. Any ideas anyone?

6) Default icons
I'm not sure how to get back to the default icons for notification etc... (instead of the 'glassy' ones), and the default 'icon' when the phone is 'waiting' etc.. (i.e. instead of the coloured balls). Any ideas?

7) Text from tab
Tapping the 'new text' icon from the 'messages' tab has no effect (though it does work from the menu).

I have searched for cabs I can use to solve the above issues, but not having great luck, I'll report back if I can do anything!

I'm aware of somes problems all of you have reported.

I'm going to build a new ROM from scratch (ie no more based on GenY).

I think it will be released very soon. Instead of this, keep waiting, and don't download the 1.0 release as it may be a little too bugged :(

For people having problems with random hard reset or hangs-up on the bootscreen, I think it was build 217xx which cause the problems, as I had the same problem once with EnergyRom and GenY (1.2.8 as I remember, but not sure :D).

The new rom will be built on the 21806 SYS/XIP so I hope it will solve theses kind of problems.

Also, I'm looking for someone who could host my ROM once it will be ready, cause my webhosting shut me off my account for excessive bandwith usage :rolleyes: (125Gb in two days, instead of 4Gb / month :D)

rename your nbh file to ruu_signed.nbh and put any DiamonCustomRUU.exe in the same folder and flash
search for DiamonCustomRUU you will find in the forum

Flashed it, then did a hard reset. Been using for a few hours now and have yet to come across a bug or crash. Battery does not seem to be draining. only gone from 100% to 94% and thats while ive been customising it some more. TomTom got a fix within 10 seconds which was also quite impressive. Have pretty much played around with the entire ROM now and can't find a fault anywhere.

Without a doubt the most stable and clean 6.5 & TF3D2 ROM ive used so far. Great ROM. Kudos to the cooker - you've done a fantastic job with this one.

any ideas? i've hard reset it 3 times now and no change. how do i put another ROM on it if i can't boot into the OS?

Sounds like a bad flash, re-flash stock rom then re-flash this rom again if you're willing.

Also, how are you flashing this ROM? From the storage or using a Custom RUU?

I used an RUU to flash it. Works no problems. I used the one attached.

Its quite good. Under normal use (by that i mean, sms, emails, calls, music for an hour on the train) i've found that on a full charge from the morning, i'm only down to about 50% by the evening - which is very acceptable by my standards.

All the other 6.5 ROM's with TF3D2 seem to use >90% of ram after about 6-10 hours.

This ROM will be ideal if the memory stays at around 70% as the cooker says.

Can confirm , i have not yet come across any RAM related errors. TomTom works fine. I have run media player whilst having Opera open and also Realdice Hearts running while on train. all running smoothly.

Or the password page doesn't load correctly and the "skip" and "next" buttons don't appear (as well as the image at the top). Now it always freezes at the installation part at what looks like 99% on fileexplorerex.cab.

I'll try putting the ROM on my phone again maybe it didn't copy correctly.

First do a hard reset. then if you can get it to activesync use the CustomRUU i have attached on previous page to flash. I have alsways found this the best was to flash a ROM.

I tried a hard reset before and nothing actually deleted, I had to clear storage, but I can't do that because I'm stuck "Installing fileexplorerex.cab". Tried a hard reset not too long ago and it's the same.
I would try it happily if I could get my computer to see a connection to my phone which I guess you can't do until it's fully set up.
I tried leaving it to install for about 45 minutes but that didn't work (I remember this was an issue on a ROM I used before and waiting solved the problem)

I'm going to try again, that's the only thing to do for now I suppose.

I think the problem may have happened because I extracted the file straight on to my storage. Thats the only thing different I have done from this ROM and the rest lol.

I've reset the PC twice, reset the Diamon twice, double checked the Active sync on the mobile is active. And i can browse it normal, just not sync it up.

EDIT: Figgured it out, had to reinstall Windows Mobile Device Center from microsofts homepages.

Try deleting the pairing from the Diamond under Activesync - Menu-Options -Delete

This rom unexpectledly solved a problem related to sms and tf3d2: with all other wm 6.5 & tf3d2 roms flashed until now, after pim's backuping 1thousand c.a. sms, i couldn't close correctly my girlfriend's sms "thread" from classic sms viewing (from tapping on "all messages"): it used to freeze for a while. Now, (don't know if for case or for chef's worth:)), after pim's backup, device started a sort of re-indexing of sms, (don't know exactly, it gradually upgraded the list of sms :eek:); maybe it's normal, but i never saw that kind of behaviour. In short, now it closes every sms "thread" correctly.

But, it's not end: this rom also solved the "sms cutting" in new tf3d2 sms viewing (by tapping on sms itself while reading in "messages tab"). With other rom\manilas with tf3d2 tryed until now, it cutted sms longer than 160char.

Little bug: clock-menu-local time settings-date: the page is cutted in the bottom: can't change month and year. Qvga to vga converting oversight, i supose.

What can i say, for now: no bug, clean and light, full equipped with necessary soft:

Can confirm , i have not yet come across any RAM related errors. TomTom works fine. I have run media player whilst having Opera open and also Realdice Hearts running while on train. all running smoothly.

Nice rom 1.1 but noticed a few things ..could be a user error or something else ...i have a feeling though that it may be from changing settings in S2U2...last night i changed the setting to display battery and this morn when i unplugged the device it froze..had to soft reset...today after work i played with the s2u2 setting to change it from 24/hr style clock to 12hr and boom after exiting etc i made on call then boom it froze and then it decided to hard reset itself...weird..i will reflash then test without messing with s2u2 to see

Sorry one more quick question. I can't seem to get the htc rhodium autostart and clock fix cab to install on Energyrom 3.0, and I am hoping to switch to the 1.3 of this ROM when it drops and was wondering if the annoying 1 hour off sms issue is corrected here. This rom sounds like a dream so I can't wait for the 1.3 to launch. Any tips from the man himself when such a gloriour moment may come? ;)

Sounds like a bad flash, re-flash stock rom then re-flash this rom again if you're willing.

downloaded the official ROM for my diamond from HTC.com, installed it, then installed v1.2 of this ROM and it looks like everything is working now. thanks for the advice!

Also, how are you flashing this ROM? From the storage or using a Custom RUU?

I used an RUU to flash it. Works no problems. I used the one attached.

i did it using customRUU.

memory seems pretty good for me, hovers around the 63% mark, if i plug into my PC and activesync it creeps up to 69%, down to 68% when i unplug, up to 73% now, plugged in.

Found a small bug that I didn't noticed since I don't use other input method :

The EzInput is no more displayed in the SIP menu, so you can't change options or change to MS keyboard and then back to EzInput for example :(

Apparently, it's a known bug of the latest build with OEM packages :(

Looking for a way to fix it, but for people who switch often between different input method, I would advise them to not update to 1.2 :(

Note than EzInput will be reverted back to default input method each time you soft-reset...

Hi there. Thanks for the ROM!
I have HTC diamond that was installed with DuttyTrhoy image V4, and radio 1.12. Worked very good. Thought of upgrading to Windows 6.5, took your ROM and frankly I got disappointed a little. After I installed the ROM, the device started to Hard Reset every time it installed something, and after network connection upgraded from the SIM card I have, to the local OS, it rebooted for good. From time to time I had some success booting the device, but it crashed a lot or froze. Very slow boot up time. From time to time I couldn't install any application to 4GB RAM I have within the phone.
If you have any suggestions or fix-up I would be gladly test it again. I assume, your ROM has advanced driver for reading the file system I have which has some wrong timing that's why it freezes or cannot install any application.
Currently with lots of luck and patience I had returned my old DuttyThroy ROM which works now perfectly.

yet it's a shame that the lack of proper hardware on our Diamonds makes it virtually impossible for us to use such roms on a daily basis. even a simple browsing on the internet renders the device useless (i.e. "out of memory").

And YOUR ROM is the first with 6.5 and TF3D that works well and leave enough memory: GREAT JOB, BON TRAVAIL (je suis français aussi :-) ).

I've had version 1.0 installed on my Diamond and it worked pretty well. Then i flashed the 1.1 version and that one caused the rom to randomly crash and hard reset my phone.

Yesterday evening i flashed the 1.2 version and i'm lucky if it does'nt hard reset every 10 minutes :confused: The phone seems to be much slower when going through the setup after the hard reset. After the setup it's slow between the crashes too.
I do the 2 hard resets after flashing but that did'nt have any noticable effect.
I flashed back to my original htc software today as i do need my phone to be useable.

Too bad your rom seems to get worse for me with every new version. :(

Common problem lately with most 6.5 roms...
try to flash a stock rom first and then this one.
I've got the stock one @ storage card to quick recovery, and i'm flashing new ones with ruu...

For people who think this rom is too slow : Don't use TF3D2 or buy another phone than diamond, you will NEVER have a phone as, or more reactive than an Iphone, don't dream, it's not possible with this phone... It's not possible to make it a lot faster than now, you can try any WM 6.5 TF3D2 Rom you want, I think you couldn't get it to run faster. I'm not claiming I have made the fastest TF3D2 ROM, but after testing almost some of them, it's pretty the same for all (Expect Energy, which run quiet good too, but takes too much memory...)

Note also that the firsts 2 boots can be (very?) slow, due to sashimi and connection setup which run at the same time than customization. Looking for a way to fix it, and make them run only after the first soft-reset. If anyone is aware on how to do this, PM me ;)

It's not possible to make it a lot faster than now, you can try any WM 6.5 TF3D2 Rom you want, I think you couldn't get it to run faster. I'm not claiming I have made the fastest TF3D2 ROM, but after testing almost some of them, it's pretty the same for all (Expect Energy, which run quiet good too, but takes too much memory...)

Note also that the firsts 2 boots can be (very?) slow, due to sashimi and connection setup which run at the same time than customization. Looking for a way to fix it, and make them run only after the first soft-reset. If anyone is aware on how to do this, PM me ;)

I would recomand to cancel the first sashimi-Autorun, it will run again automatically after soft-reset.

I'm totally agree with you, the Diamond has its hardware limits, it's already great to have WM6.5 and TF3D2 on a PPC which has been originaly created with WM6 and TF3D1 ... thanks to you, the cookers :)

Try flashing a HTC Original stock rom, then flash with my rom, and do an Hardreset just after.

Yes it should be possible to change apps shortcut.

The path of the programs are located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScr een\APP_X but changing the image should be a bit harder, as it's a custom file (.brn) Didn't test to change a program path, so I don't know if it's really works or not.

For Youtube I installed this and now is working.

In the past I experienced like you.

I solved it by flashing the stock ROM and then flash another ROM as needed.

Great ROM, very very nice.

running 1.3. Everything is perfect except for two things I have found. Perhaps someone can help me with a fix.

No matter how hard I try my text messages time received is 5 hours late. I installed df timestamp fix and htc summer time fix which help by making texts only 1 hour late. But I cannot for the life of me eradicate this problem. I read somewhere that it shouldn't be found in TF3D2 when running it on WM 6.5 which just confuses me even more.

Also whenever choosing a city for weather and the world clock time, I choose Canada for country and then it hangs for a moment and manila restarts. I thought it was a prob with forecast db and replaced it with the 2330fc3c_manila file to no avail...

when in "All People" selecting "Call history" tab and pressing "Menu" I get a faded screen with no option to select a thing and, of course, no chance to exit it =((

2. By the way, just because your ROM is so well integrated with facebook is there any chance that you could add an uploader for pictures that would send them directly to the facebook account? Sounds like a bad flash, re-flash stock rom then re-flash this rom again if you're willing.


your advice is really worked, flash back to official rom then flash again the new rom can actually solve some crash, auto hard reset and hang problem,
people who got this sort of trouble in flashing rom can use this method as a reference....

Found a little bug, if want to choose a new ringtone, if you scroll all the way down, you see that their are 2 more options if you try to scroll further. But you cant choose them.

Also, when taking pictures, you cant choose burst mode or sports mode (taking 10 pictures fast after each other.)

Action screen is VERY nice :D

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it's possible, because integrating softwares directly into roms instead of cab files takes less memory, and some softwares can't be published by cabs.

But i'll try to see what can I do when HTC will release an official 6.5 ROM ( so most softwares should be fixed to final version, like Manila, etc...)

Yes, it's planned for a further release, but won't come until Version 1.5 I think... My priority is optimizing the rom and fix all bugs ;)

The next big step will be the customization of the ROM ;)

Don't worry, it should be optionnal, but it will be less re-arranged than the EnergyRom. I'm just planning to make few folders for essentials apps, like creating a folder for S2U2 app...

But it will depend of both of you, that's also why I've included reStart, people can rearrange their menu just like they want :)

The RAM usage is an issue with TF3D2 and WM6.5 with Diamond. Maybe the next version of Manila will fix some Memory leaks, but I don't think it will be possible to have less than 70-75% used after some time...

T9 should be supported for all languages, but you have to change it manually by Registry for the moment... (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9) DefaultLanguage key

After installation and a soft reset the french AZERTY keyboard is appeared with french XT9 :)

set to 24 hrs format ..set your alarm then change it back to 12hrs format

Hi. In French Rom, it is impossible to use Stock (onglet bourse). When I'm trying to add stock, i have the message "impossible to connect".

Found another minor bug in the 1.3: When setting the alarm and you want to give a description, you cant see what you are typing when the keybord is up. To se you will have to hide the keybord :rolleyes:

And .. when setting another wallpaper, you cant get the standard gray wallpaper back again by choosing yes on the question '' do you want the standard wallpaper back?'' you will get a black back ground :(

And Do you know what would be cool? A moving wallpaper that will slide with along with the different pages :D

I've just installed NmLs 1.3 Fr, THANKS, first good ROM in french !

BUGS:
- the battery indicateur indicates 18 thow the battery is 90 % ???

to do (?):
- as it is for french people: put the French regional Setting in the ROM
- TF3D2 is not active after hard rebbot (not a pb !)

After reboot:
free RAM: 39,80 / 114,10
Storage: 61,69 / 94,43 Mb

Just wait for the dialer to appear and seems to be freezed, then press cancel and upper corner like for closing program, and the diamond should reboot correctly...

2) startup is extremely slow - stuck on the "touch diamond" screen for 2 mins during a soft reset and then another 2 mins until i see tf3d2
3) generally the speed is slower than a few other wm6.5 roms (gen.y wm6.5 is the quickest with 8mb page pool, sadly it is discontinued)
e.g.1 opening email window takes 1 minute and another minute to finish loading a plain text short email
e.g.2 took 2 mins to finish finding 12 mp3 in internal storage
4) s2u2 doesn't load automatically after soft reset (need shortcut in startup i suppose)

On the 1.3 rom, (probably also in 1.4.1) i found a minor bug: When you go to contacts tab, and go to all people. You can click menu, but when you select a contact, the menu button darkens the screen without options to choose. Can someone confirm that? :D

And when you click on the clock, you always go to the clock tab, and not to the alarm tab. Even if you close it while you are on the alarm tab. This is very irritating becauce if I want to change my alarm quikly, I change the main time instead -_- Can you fix that??
