If you want to walk by there, show your device and say: "look! I'm cool! look my phone!" and feel like a star then IPhone is definitely for you.
If you want a device that can give you a hand everytime you need a specific requirement, then a WinMo is for you (they look cool also, but who cares?). :P

you can't really go to a windows mobile based forum and ask this question
and expect an unbiased answer
a wm device will let you put on any 3th party app you can find but it at times
takes skills to find them as they are not centralised
iphone you get what they offer in appstore all in one place
x1 got a hardware keyboard and software keyboards
iphone got a software keybord that many likes
x1 support expanding storage memory by micoSD cards
iphone got the storage it comes with
x1 support changing batt yourself and having more batts
iphone require you to have apple change the batt when it dies
and all recharable batts die after X charges
x1 got a much higher resolution then iphone
iphone got a bigger screen then x1
imho iphones screen is better because I like capative screens
no preasure required
iphone charge and sync using their own special connector
x1 charge and sync using miniUSB any miniUSB cable works
and also sync using bluetooth
iphone as far as I know don't support stereo music over bluetooth x1 does
iphone support multitouch x1 don't
buttom line
get a palm pre .....
jk :P get a x1 I got one myself happy with it
read ebooks, surf using opera, chat using fring, watch movies using core player
play games use
