Ok, sorry for the stupid question but I couldn’t seem to find the answer by searching. What ARE the DCD carrier cabs?

I have flashed ROM’s lots of times and now am running the latest WM6.5 from our buddy NFSFAN. But I have never installed any DCD cabs on either this ROM or any of the others I have flashed in the past.

What is the purpose of these CAB’s? What do they do/add? Everything seems to work (I am on Bell Mobility).

Best regards,

The Fish

The DCD Carrier Cabs are accessory cabs for helping setup carrier specific items for phone, data, text and GPS settings required at times by a carrier to gain access

Some Chefs create "Generic" ROMs, much like the one you state your using from NFSFAN - but depending sometimes a carrier CAB can be needed to add specific items and reg settings and the like to help in connections or for some carrier specific settings/time synchronization and things

on a personal level I too use NFSFANs ROM but unlike you on Bell I use Sprint and rarely have I had to use a DCD Sprint carrier cab ( twice I think in total) for his ROMs

Detroit DougWhat does DCD stand for?

So, can I assume that if everything is working for me and I like to keep things clean as possible then I do not need to install the DCD?

Also, NFSFAN said that with his ROM's we are to allow the customizations to run. What exactly are the customizations? What happens at this stage? What will happen if, like with other ROMS, I reset before they run?

Thanks,

DCD = the initials/screen name of the person that put them together

as the classic axiom states "if it aint broke dont fix it"

Customizations are after flash setups that need to take place (usually) if the Chef in question states to "let them run" there is a reason for it, so do so
