i was hqving this error couple of times n i wd recceomend everyone to take care of the followings.
1-close all other applications xcept the needed. if u can disconnect the internet as well while flashing.
2-exract the files in the same drive(partition) as ur operating system on ur pc.i wud reccomend extracting on in my documents folder.
3- and folloz the instructions closely.

try to restart your device with the way :
1.Remove the battery.
2.Reinsert the battery and turn on your phone.
*WARNING! If the phone is restarted while a program is running, unsaved work will be lost.

if still doesn't help then make sure the phone go to bootloader and flash back with your 3vo ROM

Hard Reset HTC Excalibur

This can be tricky, So I know from trial and error, Since there are not many guides out there that explain in detail on how to do this, with this particular device, I have decided to go ahead and make one up for you guys.



Here are the steps:



Step One:

Preform power down *Hold the power button* Till the phone is 100% powered down and all you see is a black screen

Place 1 finger on each of the Soft keys.

Step Three:
Press the power Button and hold for no more than 2 sec well holding the two soft keys (do not hold the power button till the phone turns on) ONLY PRESS THE POWER BUTTON DO NOT TURN THE PHONE ON. After pressing the power key keep your fingers on the Two Soft keys until you see a the phone turn on and a black screen come up with white writing. Once you see this screen Press the Green Send key and there you go you have just performed a hard reset on the T-Mobile dash without using the settings screen on the phone

Hi I flashed this rom fine and had to use the wifi and sms patch to get things running.

The only problem I'm having is after I lock the keypad and leave the phone alone for a while the phone becomes unresponsive. If I hit a button the screen comes up but shows the phone as unlocked and doesn't respond to any other buttons. I have to pull out the battery to get it to reboot.

Any ideas for a fix?

i had the same issue but i solved it by follozing the instructions.
-extract all the files in a filder in my documents on ur pc.
-close all the running applications except those reauired before flashing the ROM. disconnect ur internet if possible. and watch the following link closely.

Regarding bt, I have no issues at all. But maybe a reflash?. Regarding italian layout you can configure in start > tools keymap customizer > italian layout then a soft reset.

.....changed from HTC Comm Manager to System Comm Manager in UI Tweaks and BT issue disappeared.....maybe a bug related to HTC Comm Manager?

if you want to connect a BT GPS receiver to service the serial port of your comp must be enabled. by using the Toshiba stack is much more flexible about the use of ports. on the control panel you have an icon somewhere .. if u have a keypad other than listed in keymap configuration like i had AZERTY, u can simply change it.
1) establish active sync
2)copy any keymap u want to customize from ur device /program files/3vo/keymap configuration to ur desktop(computer).
3)cutomize the file according to keymap on ur phone e.g
for my AZERTY i customized QWERTY by replacing Q with A and W with Z and so on, in the keymap file.
4)now save this file and copy-paste it to the same folder from were u had copied it before.
5)if it gives u an error, paste it anywhere in the phone and then from ur phone use reco explorer to copy it to the above mentioned folder.
6)now go to the start/tools/keymap config and select the keymap u just customized. rebbot n u r good to go.

this works in txt messages,edit boxes and almost everywhere except while searching contacts.....but i think its not a big deal.atleast not for me.

apparently there seems to be a problem with the HTC comm layout. what u can do is go to settings/UI Tweaks and change the comm manager layout from htc to system and reboot. if it works for u fine otherwise wait untill a senior member posts an alternative.

I had a cooked rom of 3VO.3.50.033010 . I tried to upgrade it to the latest one, 3VO.3.60.122710. Now my phone stops at "HTC 3VO rom series" screen.

I tried to hard reset. I got the warning message about data wipe out. But the screen hanged again.

I have not been able to enter the boot loader screen. It hangs at the same screen. I am not finding an HTC s620 in India. SO that GoldCard method wont work for me.

Please help. I dont want to loose this set because I got it as a gift.

change recvlimit1 through 3 to 307200
and sendlimit1 through 5 to 307200

then go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSC Setting\SampleMMSC


Once in here, go to WAP1SendDefaultSize and change the value to 307200. Do the same for WAP2SendDefaultSize and WAP1recvdefault as well

another problem i am having is with windows live, when i try to set it up, i get the first screen telling me to accept terms of service. i click accept, and it brings me to the setup page. i enter my email address and password, then click next. it seems to be trying to do something as i have the colored dots cycling, but then it just stops and goes to the home screen. this is the same if i try to set up my email (using a hotmail account).

Can't you flash your stock rom? Have you removed your sim and sd card when you are doing the hard reset?.

Bootloader shouldn't show you / direct you to the home screen (that's when you performed it the wrong way, when you press too long the power button..it reset/ turns on your device).

Change the page spool file size with the app provided with the ROM.

I don´t know what´s the default size but you can set a custom 8 Mb which has to be enough. The phone will slow down, then set Omap clock to 240. To avoid battery being eaten set idle to 144 or whatever you feel.

That´s my current setting and is working OK. Hope that help.

Trying to install on a unlocked S-621 that had RoseNrgy 1.7 on it.

Ran SDA and ran the Excalibur USPL - CID Bypass.

So far everything working good.

Connect USB and run the 3VO.3.60.122710 Rom Update Utility - getting the red-blue-green-white screen, then getting the progress bar screen on device and on PC.

Progress bar on PC goes to 3 or 4 bars and then program quits saying Image file is corrupted.

Re-downloaded the Rar from the HTC Excalibur area - decompressed and went through the process again. Same results.

Led Alerts User Guide

This guide assumes you are already familiar with the basic functionality of Windows Mobile 6 and your SmartPhone.

Installation Instructions

LEDAlerts was tested and confirmed to work with the following Windows Mobile 6 devices: Samsung BlackJack II (AT&T), SMT 5800 (Verizon), T-Mobile Dash (HTC S620), and HTC S730. The PC installer version will install LEDAlerts on your device using ActiveSync on your desktop PC. Or, by copying the CAB file version directly to your device and clicking on it, LEDAlerts can be installed without needing ActiveSync. LEDAlerts should be installed in your device's main memory, not on the storage card. Please accept all warnings during the installation process on the device.

Before completing the installtion process, you will be asked to choose your device. If you are using a Motorola Q or your device is not listed, choose "Standard Smartphone" then press Done.

When installation is complete, you will find the LEDAlerts application installed in your Start menu.

Using the Installed LEDAlerts Application on Your Device

The LEDAlerts application is used to control the functionality of LEDAlerts on your device. When you first install LEDAlerts you will have 7 days to use the program for free before it stops functioning. At that time, you will need to purchase the program and enter your Activation Code in order to continue using it.

Click on the LEDAlerts icon in your start menu to choose your options. On the first screen you will see three settings menus:

Illuminate when

On this menu, choose which events LEDAlerts should monitor. Press the center button or left and right buttons on the directional pad of your device to select a monitored event to establish settings for. When the event occurs, you can choose to have LEDAlerts illuminate the LED lamp on your device. Each event can have its own individual LED settings.

The following events can be monitored:

New E-Mail Received
New SMS Received
New MMS Received
New Voice Mail Received
]Missed Call
Calendar/Task Reminder

A selected LED will stop blinking when the event has been cleared or satisfied. For example when a new Email or text message has been read, when a voice mail has been listened to, or when a calendar reminder has been dismissed or snoozed.

Action

On this menu, choose whether to have LEDAlerts take no action (let the device control the LED only) or turn on the LED when the selected event occurs. Press the center button or left and right buttons on the directional pad of your device to select an action for the event. There are two choices on this menu:

LED Lamp

On this menu, you can choose which LED lamp color LEDAlerts should illuminate when the monitored event (selected at the top of the screen) occurs. Press the center button or left and right buttons on the directional pad of your device to select an LED lamp color. The device, which LEDAlerts was installed on, will determine which LED lamp colors can be selected for each monitored event. The Verizon SMT 5800/HTC S730 has one yellow LED available, the T-Mobile Dash/HTC S620/Excalibur* has one green LED available. The Samsung BlackJack II has 7 different LED colors available:

Light Blue
Green
Light Purple
Red
Yellow
Dark Purple
Dark Blue

*Please note:*The T-Mobile Dash/HTC S620/Excalibur has a slow blinking green LED light turned on at all times by default. LEDAlerts will increase the blinking speed of this green LED when a monitored event occurs. Unfortunately, this is a technical limitation of the Dash/HTC S620/Excalibur and the only way to trigger an external LED notification on this device.

Backlight:

In addition to the available LED's on most devices, you may also assign any event to the Backlight. When an assigned event occurs AND the device is NOT IN USE (idle), the display backlight will start to blink like an LED. When the event is satisfied, the display backlight will stop blinking. For Standard (non LED equipped) Smartphones, like the Motorola Q, only the Backlight option is available.

Multiple Events:

Each available event listed can be assigned a different LED (if available) color or the same LED color. When multiple events occur at the same time, LEDAlerts will blink the LED assigned for the first event which occurred, then the LED assigned for the second event which occurred, and so on. As each event is satisfied, its assigned LED will be dismissed or turned off.

Start Key (Left Soft Key)

When all options have been established for each monitored event, press the Start key (left soft key) to initialize and activate LEDAlerts. When a monitored event occurs (New E-Mail Received, New Voice Mail Received, Missed Calendar Reminder), LEDAlerts will either take no action (if chosen) or illuminate the LED you specified for that event.

Menu Key (Right Soft Key)

Under the Menu key, there are additional options, which affect the behavior of LEDAlerts.

LED Options

Maximum Duration:

In this menu you can select how long you would like an illuminated LED to continue blinking. Press the center button or left and right buttons on the directional pad of your device to select an LED blinking duration:

30 Seconds
1 Minute
5 Minutes
10 Minutes
30 Minutes
60 Minutes
90 Minutes
Indefinite (Continue blinking until dismissed)*

*May affect battery life.

Email LED based on Unread Messages:

When this option is checked, the Email event LED will be dismissed or suspended when all unread messages have been read or opened (default). If this option is not checked, the Email LED will be dismissed when the Messaging application is launched. This may be helpful if you typically keep a lot of unread messages in your inbox.

Suspend All

This option will stop all currently illuminated LED?s from blinking. This will not deactivate the program, it will simply dismiss all currently blinking LED?s.

Activation

When the 7 day free trial has expired, LEDAlerts will stop functioning and you will need to visit www.qorefunctions.com to purchase and activate the program. During the transaction, you will need to supply the owner name of your device (typically your full name) found under device settings. The activation code for LEDAlerts will be based on the device owner name. When the transaction is complete, you will be emailed your activation code within 2 business days. Choose Activation from the Menu (right soft key) and enter your activation code in the space provided. The program will continue to function at that point.

Cancel

Choose this option from the Menu (right soft key) to exit from the application without saving your changes.

make the scrollbars smaller (vertical and horizontal)

this tweak allows 4 icons on a row in the start menu instead of 3 and allows more to be viewed on the screen in IE:

- Go to: HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\
- Adjust the following values
cyHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars
Height in pixels (default is 6, set it to 3)
cxVScr : Vertical Scrollbars
Width in pixels (default is 6, set it to 3)
- Soft-reset

Did you try the one from marketplace? I had the same problem long time ago. I installed windows live directly from MP and things worked out.

I have just tried this version and I must say I am very disappointed.
The two main issues I have is the OS drains the battery very quick, and there is no data connection via the USB cable.

Other things are such as software which functioned in 6.1, no longer function now. kinoma media player can no longer find a data connection for registration.

yup, i can confirm this latest release should have been a BETA version. Needs so mush polishing up. I can't send or receive texts/sms even after a hard reset, and windows live won't work without downloading marketplace and then update it bla bla. live streaming via streaming media player don't work. etc etc. I am but impressed with the ability of the internet explorer to retain history, even after doing a soft reset while browser is open. and would love to see opera 4.3 embedded in the Rom and a better jbed to support auto-complete url in opera 4.3 without full screen edit. i'll be making my donation very soon, to support this beautiful project.

One of the reasons I had decided to put 6.5 back on is because I connect to a 802.1x WiFi network. I was told with 6.5 you no longer need a certificate to be added as you need in 6.1. I am sure the guy who had put the security certificate on 6.1 was correct. I guess this build does not have one.

I do like all the extra apps already in place.

Note on the battery. Normally (w/ 6.1 ) on light use, I may plug in to charge every two days. Heavier use, maybe once a day. With this version I kept having to plug the thing in 2-3 times a day no matter how much I was using it.

I believe it would just default to the speaker unless you click on stop button. Can't remember if the built in task manager is on this rom. Even if stopped, the media app may still be running in the background.

Flashing instructions:


** note: Your phone must be application unlocked. If it is not, please run SDA Application Unlock.exe via Activesync (attached below).
Download and run SDA Application Unlock with the phone connected
Remove your SD Card
Download and unzip the file
Run Auto.bat
Follow the prompts in the DOS window
Hit "continue" on your phone, screen will turn white
Run RomUpdateUtility.exe (if it doesn't run via the script)
The flash will take about 8-10 minutes
Upon first boot, it will seem frozen for a few minutes, maybe even go black. This is NORMAL!
After first boot, I recommend doing a hard reset (Clear Storage)
Enjoy your new ROM!
In case something goes wrong:


Remove the battery and the SD Card--> Put ONLY the battery back in.
While holding the camera button, press the power button
The multicolor boot screen will pop up
Plug in the USB cable and flash back your shipped (HTC) ROM
Find out what went wrong and reflash this ROM properly

Hi I have downloaded and installed the ROM and phone works perfect except that the SMS (Text messages) are not working. As mentioned in the instructions i have downloaded the patch 3VO_SMS_. but i able to install it.

Save the cab file to the dash and run it from there. There should be no problem. In case something goes wrong, hard reset, save the file again and try installing.

Just installed the ROM again and as well as SMS patch but my HTC S620 is still not sending or recieving the text messages.

For anyone still interested, I recooked my last ROM with SMS fixed. I know a lot of you have been having issues with the SMS patch which is no longer needed if running R2 of the ROM. For those still running the original, no reason to reflash as the only thing I changed was added the SMS patch into the build. Download at first post. Enjoy! :)

But when i tried to download integrated SMS patch version of ROM the download does not work.

Also please could you advice me how to get UK English Keymap on My HTC S620. As mentioned by another member i download the et9. key map file from this forum and tried to locate excisting eT9 files on my phone. found them in windows folder. but i am unable to copy new eT9 file into Windows folder?

also i have installed windows live and facebook on my phone and both these do not work on WiFi neither does internet explorer. However opera mini works perfectly using Wifi.

Please help as i am newbie.

A few hours ago I flashed this ROM onto my phone. Everything went well, the whole thing was pretty painless.
Apart from one thing. I am having trouble getting the keyboard to properly function. No matter what text entry mode it is in (contacts, Word, Opera) the letters all function properly apart from the number keys will will only type the numbers.
Not knowing exactly what to do I installed/uninstalled pretty much all of the available keyboard layouts and "fixes". The last one caused my phone to display a thin green line at the top of the screen.
So I reset and cleared the storage and am now back to square one.
Any help would be much appreciated.
(I have the BT "ToGo" version of the Excalibur)

EDIT: Ignore the above. I found the solution (fn + space). :o
EDIT 2: I may have been hasty is saying that. Whilst it now works fine in most situations I am still having problems typing into the Opera address bar for example. It is making the number keys act like the multi-tap keys on phones without QWERTY keyboards. Is there any way to stop this?

I also seem to keep having the problem with the green line at the top of the screen. It seems to randomly appear after I have rebooted a couple of times and won't go away.

On another note I feel I need to praise this ROM so much. It has completely changed the phone. When I first got it I thought it was slow, clunky and just generally awful. Little did I know it was BT's appalling ROM it came shipped with. It is just so much faster now and I just wish I had known about it before now.

I think the thin green line, (at the top of the screen?) is a battery level monitor. If it changes blue when charging it's a battery meter. Had 1 on my Dash for years.

I have edited contact before. I allow an image to contact but in call, image don't display...
In other previous 3VO roms, i can see pictures contacts in call!

I copied the files in Windows with Total Commander but after rebooting, my phone crashes at the Welcome screen! I have restored the original configuration and therefore I lost all my data.
But it does not matter. I would still like these photos appear, would there be another way?
Could you please tell me if you know how to a process start automatically (a porgram)? like Active Sync?

If you already know your network settings (in which case you'll have to ask the customer service), you can enter them as follows:
Settings> MMS Settings> Menu> MMSC Settings> Menu> New (or edit for change Sample parameters).

Do you know that you need to change the battery right? Red light can mean your battery is completely gone.

It is indeed very likely that the battery is dead. Can you try another one which you know it is ok?

If the flash went wrong, then first try to get in the bootloader:
press + hold camera key, then switch on. 3-color screen should come.

Then load the original ROM.
Then you can load a cooked ROM with JumpSPL or alike.

I own a different WM6.5 standard phone than excalibur, and I need Titanium weather app's files for it, since original showaco's app is for touch devices. Can some of you extract them and post in a .zip file?
I need the program files an icons (maybe in \Program Files\Titanium weather), the Titanium home.xml definition (in \Application Data\Home) and the related Titanium .cpr file (in \Windows).

I have the latest version of this, and it's great, but I was wondering if there is any way to change what comes up in an SMS bubble. For example, the older version had "Reply" and "Dismiss," whereas this has "Menu" and "Save As Read." If "menu>view" went to the thread, I wouldn't mind, but it brings you to the singular message. I sort of looked around in this thread and in the options on the phone, but with no luck. Am I missing something or is this just how it is?

Aww I miss this device. I've been trying to develope a wm 7 rom off of this ROM but once I extract the nbh file I can't get any farther os.nb ect .nb files I can't get to open I got all the right tools.. EDIT: progressing on that.. Also im flying bind cause I can't find my dash so I might need a tester....
GIVE ME TIME ANDI WILL REPORT THE STATUS ON THE BUILD.....
