Hi to all,
I mean what I said above, I do love this ROM - it is a work of art.
What is freaking me out is the power burn when Wifi is running. I don't think "excess battery usage" is a strong enough term. The heat being generated can't be good for the hardware, it's got to be taking a toll.
Being a PC gamer I am all too aware of the damage heat can do to components.
This afternoon I went out and had the media player running for about an hour and a half. One short call of about 3 minutes. Otherwise, in my pocket. Battery was at 96% when I got back. Very acceptable. I can't say that battery usage bad at all for anything but when Wifi is on. Bluetooth is no problem at all.
I had my PC shut down to install a part and had the phone on Wifi, with one mail account checking every 5 minutes and had Messenger running. The battery dropped from 96 to 80% in 13 minutes and when I picked up the phone I could barely hold it. I then stuck it in the cradle to let it get a power feed from USB. I didn't touch it for 10 minutes and was sill at 80%. Which means the power draw was equal to the feed from USB. And it was even hotter - now that's freaky. I turned of the Wifi and 5 minutes later it was at 83% battery.
With the Kavanna ROM I never had any over heating - ever. With Wifi on it did eat power of course.
So, on my wish list for a patch or new release would be some way to reduce that heat generation.
Most everybody seems to report some increase in power usage, but how may others are getting this extreme overheating?

anyway to get auto keylock to start when phone is powered on?
i haven't done this in a while but search the threads. i know at one point it was discussed how Windows mobile is capable of a "start-up folder" of sorts like a regular windows pc is. between this folder and the registry you can setup the program to auto run on startup. i know i installed Palringo and it auto-runs. sooo do some research and im sure you can come up with an answer. and if i have time i'll figure it out myself

I must say I love this rom, but I am having issues opening backup contact lists made with Kavanna 6.1 rom. I cannot open Dopod sim manager .cab. It comes up as unsuccessful.
The contacts are a bunch of windows live contacts that were not added to my messenger list, as well as a sim backup.
Any help or advice?

First off, I have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for this amazing ROM! I originally got the Excalibur a few months ago because I was impressed that it could upgrade from the WM5.0 it shipped with all the way to WM6.1 (thanks to everyone on the forum, of course) but I never dreamed I'd be holding 6.5 in my hand and having it run this beautifully. Great work, and I love the built-in customizations. The only things I would add to the ROM (which I installed immediately after flashing it) would be: Resco Viewer, TCPMP (the sp version), and AlReader.
Now, having just installed it and only played with it a few hours, I haven't seen a tremendous power drain yet, but I have yet to turn on the wifi or use it extensively and since everyone else has reported how quickly it eats up the battery I am definitely worried about the phone dying in inconvenient circumstances.
I know you mentioned somewhere that you were going to try to work on using the original core to cook a "final" version of it? (I think everyone agreed the core used in your original build was really stable and had amazing battery life.) If you are, I am definitely downloading it, as I think that would make the ROM completely perfect and would, of course, donate. As I think a lot of others would.
Keep up the amazing work and way to extend the life of this incredible little phone for a few more years! :-)

Ok, well I have figured something out by doing a little controlled testing. I noticed I had my "Power Save Mode" setting as "Best Performance" (This is found in All Settings > Connections > WLan > Power Mode). This is a very power hungry setting. The two other choices are "Auto" and "Best Battery".
I did specific 30 minute duration tests of all three settings. with WiFi on. The Check box below it was cleared so it would not disconnect if you don't interact with the phone. I had one email account set to do a Send/Receive every five minutes. I didn't touch the phone during the 30 minutes and accuweather did not check for updates during the period. Essentially on standby except for the email check. The phone was sitting on a hard surface at room temperature
After 30 minutes:
Best Battery > 100% battery > no heat
Auto > 100% battery > no heat
Best Performance > 84% battery > very warm to the touch.
So this is a very important setting to get right. I wonder if Ookba or anyone else with specific knowledge could comment on exactly what these settings do in terms of processor load and memory footprint. I can't discern any difference in when using either Opera Mini or Skyfire in terms of the phone's behavior.
Anybody know the specifics?

The patch will resolve your wifi problem. It is a .cab file, so just transfer it to the phone and start it from file or resco explorer. If it gives you an error maybe it is not transferred correctly, try to download it again.

I want to create a new contact dialer panel to place MyFaves contacts.
In Titanium Configurator I see there is a CHomeFavs and a CMyFaves panel (disabled, but I enabled it).
However I cannot edit or "customize" either one. In fact, the only editable panels are CLinks and Settings (they each have an asterisk out to the right).
How can I create the contact dialer panel I would like?
NOTE: Yes, I have read the CHome Configurator thread, but I cannot even open the Favs/Faves panels to edit them.

well the bugs i am experiencing is the horrible battery power i now have. thats the main one if ookba can fix that this rom would be amazing! and also another bug is i cant figure out how to get the new text message alert thing that pops up and shows the text message turned off. i dont really like that bc sometimes its inconvenient like when im texting someone else and it pops up it wont let me dismiss it so i have to click reply and end the texxt i was in the middle of. But a battery power fix and that are the few bugs i have. this rom is still super badass tho, thanks ookba.

I had a program that had a program closer I think it was done by stylz... not sure but if you could add it in your next version that would be swwwweet! 1 more request... add a blue start bar as an option... it just looks to good with the blue number pad. Right now all we get is black, nice but blue is better it would be nice to have the option to customize that too.

this rom has a task manager to close out programs. you can access it by pressing the tzones button on tmobile phones or the browser button on all other models. also check out the 3vo transparent wallpapers which allow you to customize your start bar and show you how to make your own start bar

Do you think you will be updating the ROM to use the 23041 core anytime soon?
From what I read it is suppose to be faster than the other 23XXX cores.
I'm curious about it since it came out I think in the last few days and since M$ announced 6.5 for October 6th today.
Thanks!

Just joined and uploaded this ROM, excellent, thank you very much!
One question though, i have used the other ROM from AlekSS and it shows up my provider correctly as Virgin Mobile, however on your ROM it shows up as OPTUS.
Now, Virgin mobile is the company im using but as far as i know they use OPTUS network.
SO i suppose my question is why has the WM6.5 from AlekSS shown the correct operator whereas yours has shown OPTUS?
Maybe your ROm takes the network operator name from the network and AlekSS ROM takes it from the SIM card?
Do you know?

i have to look but i believe the startmenu icons are in .dla or .dll on the phone in the windows folder. i'll find it and post the .dla's name. anyways you need to make or find an icon set and edit the resource with your new icons. try a program called resource tuner. it's pretty dank for icon editing in .dll's

I have Voice Command 1.6 installed and it is running perfectly. Long press Home brings it up. Or, clicking on the Bluetooth call button. I do notice that if I have a the wired stereo headset connected that I get the voice tag line saying I am not setup. The Voice Command setup should be in your program list, at least it is for me. I assume you re-booted after doing the install (or have since). Your best bet might be to un-install and re-install it again

Any idea how to cause the SmartoolKit to automatically start when the phone boots up?
Thanks! You have RC09 working reliably? I found it very unstable and causing a lot of bad issues. Going back to RC08 I found is much more stable, and it can be set to startup on boot in the Options menu (go to Control Panel).

Warning: Backup your Windows\StartMenu Folder before proceeding!
To change the icons of the folowing programs: CorePlayer, Epocrates Rx, Fring, Microsoft My Phone, MSDict, Pocket Player, Quakk, Resco Explorer, Skyfire, Skype, Slick, Spb Wireless Monitor and Timer...
Copy Reference.dll to the Windows Folder and then copy the corresponding Shortcut file to Windows\StartMenu.
Copy only the Shortcut files for the programs you want to change.
To revert to old icon use the previously backed Shortcut file.
Hope you like them guys and btw if anyone like custom icon for some other program of yours... Maybe we could do something.
That is awesome!
Is there anyway to use transparent icons and not have the border around the icons unless it is currently selected?

Yes it is possible but it is very hard to get them right.
(par example: one pixel of the border of this icons is transparent)
They almost always end up indented. (Check the stock icons of some programs)
The supported picture formats in this OS are not doing great with transparency. Basically we are looking in long hours creating masked non transparent icons on transparent background (not sure if this came out right)
The results are almost always depressive.
So that is why i'll stick to the LG/Samsung WinMo Look.
If someone have other idea i am willing to put some effort into creating fresh icon pack for this device.

I think the next step is creating the 2.5 ROM in the 2.0 core. This should solve the battery drain problem.
I'll say it again. Try removing checkstatus.mscr from \Windows\StartUp and reboot. Recharge the battery and test drainage.

i have this icon set and was getting around to making them all compatible for the rom. the only issue is they come at 93x93 pixels and 3vo icons need to be 83x113? or something close to that so i have to make a transparent background and fix the sizes on all the ones i would want and the others for people who want them, and then put the in the. dla's and make a pack for titanium ppls who want them.. and i'm currently to busy making new colored panels for roloracers new file changer. and schoolwork of course to work on it this instant. give me a few days and i'll toss some stuff together. pm me if you want the .dla when i'm finished with it

Yeah its a beautiful thing but lets face it your computer is old and outdated its going to be a bit sluggish at times. Ookba is doing a excellent job on this. But you can only do so much on old phone. The more you add to it the slower its going to run.

Hello. I've tried upgrading a couple of minutes ago (fromm wm 6.1) but at around 3-4% it threw a "Corrupt image file" exception during the upgrade process. Re-tested the archive (downloaded from the shared.com mirror. The main link (to mediafire) is broken, and the rayfile link ... well, it's all in chinese. Couldn't figure out how to download the file) and there were no errors during extraction/testing.

Yes, install it. Was planning a new ROM for this weekend but I may wait for a new core. It seems kinda pointless to release a new ROM with the same core and more upgrades.
As for checkstatus.mscr, it's a mortscript app that's constantly running and checking and updating the status of the CComm panel. Might be some of the drainage cause.

I used the UI Tweaks feature to change my Comm Manager Layout to System Comm Manager instead of HTC Comm manager this gives you the System Comm manager when you use Settings but if you have the Titanium Panels set in your home screen layout you will still have the HTC Comm manager from the home screen and the system Comm manager when you use Settings.. I have noticed a significant increase in battery life after doing this.
I did download and install Ookba's battery patch to try it out and when I ran it using the settings I just explained above and go to the system comm manager I find that I no longer have the Wi Fi option in system comm manager. I have it on the home screen if I use the wi-fi settings because that one gives me the HTC comm manager screen. I cannot connect to the internet using the HTC comm manager screen though for some reason..
I removed the battery patch and when I went to settings and connections and comm manager I had wi-fi again on the screen and was able to connect again using the system comm manager in settings and I was also able to connect using the wireless manager from the home screen which showed the HTC comm manager again.
I am going to switch to just using HTC comm manager and try the battery patch again and see if I can tell which way gives the best battery life.
One thing I like about the system comm manager is that it seems to use less memory resources. I can turn off my wi-fi using system comm manager without getting the low system memory screen warning that I sometimes get when trying to accesss the HTC comm manager to turn off wi-fi.

Mine's set to 132 MHz at all times (or so I think), and it's quite usable.
I have another issue though. It's not major (although it's a bit of a pain since I can't fix it). The Opera mini version shipped with this ROM version is unusable. The UI is designed in such as way that it doesn't pop up a new form when entering a url into the address bar. The first few seconds, I thought this is wonderful, however, after trying to enter letters that were found on the numeric keypad, it behaved just like a regular phone (so I had to use multipress to enter a letter found on those). This is because this Opera release has the UI set to handle the input itself, instead of leaving it to JBED, thus being designed for regular phones.
The problem is I haven't been able to uninstall it either, nor upgrade it to a different version.

in the settings for opera, untick the 'auto-complete address input'
mtranda
7th September 2009, 12:55 PM
No, that's not the issue. Already checked there. The problem is that if I want to visit, say, www.google.com, typing googl[e] will show up as googla for instance (since e shares the same key as two, and opera's UI handles that keypress as a regular phone would, which has abc on key number two).

Wingzfly
7th September 2009, 03:39 PM
Hey, Mtranda, I know what you're saying, and yes, I can confirm the same on my phone. I am also running the lastest build and Opera does exactly what you described on mine too. What I do is just scroll down to 'enter symbol,' which is an option that appears after clicking on the top bar when entering a new address (middle button, then scroll down to it. It should be the last option) and then, like wulf mentioned, it will give you a full text field where the phone types the way it normally should.
I have also seen this problem in a few games like New York Nights 2 and the MMORPG for smartphones Warspear. In New York Nights the keys are mapped strangely and none are under the 'correct' physical key. In Warspear, only the keys that don't share a number in the alt-position work, and those may or may not give you the right letter. (Warspear is a Russian game, but there is a language option to change everything to English when you install, which fixed the keyboard in the beta versions. No clue why it isn't working now.)
So it seems to me that it isn't this ROM, it's certain programs, because on everything else I've had no problems with the keyboard or key-mapping.

Just trying to understand. I thought an earlier post suggested that the current core was a bit "too new" for our old hardware, i.e. made things sluggish, concerns about battery, etc. So your plan was to downgrade the core and leave everything else the same.
Now you are waiting for a new core? A newer core?
Also, can you give us a peek what new features or upgrades you have cooking?
As always, I love this ROM. Thanks a million!

Indeed. I never said it was the ROM, just the apps that were bundled with this distro (and can't be removed).
As I said, the apps in question have custom UI (user interface) libraries, and this means that they rely on their own code to handle user input rather than allowing the operating system to handle it (via the default libs). And if they didn't design the apps with a full QWERTY keyboard in mind, then that's that.

Are you guys seriously still talking about this? :) There have been dozens upon dozens of posts about this in the 211 pages this thread has. The solution is to simply go to Menu, Tools, Settings, and uncheck "Auto-Complete address input". You can then use any and all symbols on the keyboard and enter text as you want. Hopefully that answers your question.

In storage card, make and name your new folder " Pictures" then put all your pictures in that folder. Now everytime you click on picture panel, it will go to your picture as in Picture folder in storage card.

Hi to All,
I don't know if anyone else is seeing this.
Although my battery usage wasn't unusual, I installed the battery patch. It doesn't seem to have changed the phone's battery usage that I can detect, but perhaps more time will show a change.
What has changed is a minor display issue in the Comm panel. Under the Phone title, It remains at "Turn on cellular radio" whether on or off. While turning on or off it does show properly as "Connecting" or "Disconnecting". This behavior is the same for Wifi, but not for Bluetooth. It displays as it should.
I have tried various reboots and soft re-sets, uninstalling, then reinstalling the patch, with no change.
As I said, only a minor point, but curious....

minor problems are the least of what i noticed. my phone has become slow and unresponsive after reboots. random black screens, battery power lose is rapid when in standby and doesn't read battery power right. I can reset with my battery at 60% and upon restart it is at 100%. I just reflashed my phone and wont reload my old registry just incase anything was saved in there. WTF was in that patch ook? it was more like a virus from hell then anything else. not to be offensive because i love your work but whatever was in that patch cursed my phone.

I upgraded to this rom and everythings square now, the only thing that bothers me is that everytime I send a text, a window pops up that says INFO: message sent. I went into options and made sure that "request delivery notifications" is unchecked and it is. I tried checking it and then un checking it but I still get the message sent everytime. Any help please?
check in the sms bubbles app under the tools folder. thats where you'll find the correct notification box to check

Hello gurus.. quick question on this ROM... If I select the "Pictures" panel bar, by default it goes to the interal "My Pictures" folder on the phone. Is there any way to make it go to my "My Pictures" folder on the storage card instead?.. (My camera defaults to my storage card)
Perhaps some registry entry..
Thanks

I think it's a bug with the HTC Album. I am replacing it with a newer HTC Album package for the next release scheduled for when a new core is released.
Thanks for the patch Ookba
I'm new to the forums and just started using this ROM last week, quite impressive.
Do you have a change log of active/completed statuses on next ROM you're cooking up so that I know what I might notify you on regarding fixes? Please let me know.
Thanks again, love the ROM
Not at the moment. I am still working several peformance tweaks as well as many more UI tweaks. Several updated packages are also on the horizon. Stay tuned. :)
Hi to All,
I don't know if anyone else is seeing this.
The battery patch removed the checkstatus.mscr for the CComm panel. I am under the impression that this is a problem with battery usage as it is constantly checking communication status. You can reinstate it by going to the CComm panel and running Setup.

This has to be completely unrelated to the Battery patch. ALL the CAB did was change 3 registry settings and remove checkstatus.mscr from \Windows\StartUp. Also, as stated before, the symptons with your battery percentage has to do with a tired battery. Many have experienced it and when they replaced the battery, their battery issues vanished. Roloracer was one of these people, he can explain better.
What's weird is that I have descent battery life on my Dash without the battery patch. Perhaps it's the core? That is the major thing that changed in 23017, obviously. I hear MS is releasing a finalized core on October 6 as well as launching their new Marketplace. Once I get my hands on the new core, you guys will have a more stable ROM. :)

I woke up this morning and checked my battery. It was swelled and leaking out the side. Instead of being mad at Ook now I get to go head hunting at T-Mobile and get myself free swag. This battery is only 3 months old. ;) So despite the crapness of the battery I get to harass an unsuspecting employee. Which in turn always make me happy even if I don't get what I want.

I haven't posted here in a while, but over the past month, i have noticed some major bugs and problems in the 080809 version of this rom:
- Recently, my calls have become very quiet and there is a very large noise distortion on both ends. The speaker works fine and music/sounds played elsewhere are okay
- TCPMP and WMP do not play the sound on videos anymore. Can't figure out why despite my best efforts.
- Rarely, the Omap clock keep process shows up in my celetask list. When i disable it, my phone starts to heat up and my battery drains like lightning. It then freezes and i have to reboot the phone and mess around with the clock settings. A better clock program is definitely a must in the new version!
- The video recorder does not record sound properly; when i play it back on my computer it cuts out and becomes fuzzy. I don't know if this is the phone or not, because the sound doesn't work when i play it back on the phone.
- My phone doesn't always launch WMDC when i plug it in. Sometimes i have to manually launch the computer program to get it started. This may be a problem with my comp though.
----- Questions and Suggestions
- Is there no way to set the reminders for the calendar to only last for a brief time period? My reminders will keep alerting me until i manually stop them. I don't know if this is intentional so you don't forget, but if there is an option to stop it, i would like to know.
- Is there an option to have a greeting message when the phone first turns on?
Awaiting the newest release, as always! Keep up the good work, ookba!
Calls: There have been very few call complaints with this version, I don't have an answer for you as to why your calls are bad. As for the noise, this is most likely a network problem and not a ROM problem.
TCPMP and WMP: Again, sounds like something went wacky. Like any ROM or even a Windows based PC, things may fuss up from time to time and a reflash or clear storage may be needed. Even with Kavana's ROM, which most of you say it so stable, I had to clear storage once every 2 months or so just to "clean it out". Sounds like you're due.
Omapclock: I believe it's set to be excluded in Celetask. Maybe thats why you don't see it often. There is no better clock program. Omapclock is all there is and is the best for our aging Excalibur. As we're learning, not all Excalibur's are built the same. You're better off just not running it or running a slower clock speed if you're having issues with it.
WMDC: Not a ROM problem. WMDC just sucks. I use XP with the old Activesync because of this.
Reminders: You can check profile settings, reminders. Thats a Windows Mobile MS thing. I would read up and see how the calendar reminders work in WM. Maybe someone else knows?
Greeting Message: You can replace the HTC Startup Sound wav file with your own. This plays when you first boot the phone. I think it's called bootuphtc.wav.
Next release will come when I get a new core to play with. :)

I believe that is Manilla 2D (you can find it in the Dev and Hacking forum). I have tried with Manilla on my excalibur, it eats a lot of RAM. It is really designed for phones with higher RAM capacities, but by all means you can try to install it on your phone. I like how it looks, but it slows my phone too much and predisposes me to crashes that I dont want to deal with.

Tried this since battery pach improved baterry just for few % and it actally helped a lot! i charged my phone yesterday morning and I'm at 68% battery now (9 AM).
Now I can say this ROM is pitch perfect!!!
Thanks ramfan for this tip and Ookba for perfect ROM!

I have been following the blog for a while but only flashed this ROM few days back, and its just wonderful I must say, Kudos to Ookba for such a commendable work. Only concern remains for battery drain out though mine works for about 18-20 hours, which isn't too bad but earlier it use to work for over 2 days, If I install battery patch it takes away WiFi and doesn't help for battery at all. I am hoping that Ookba resolves it in next build which would make this greatest Excalibur ROM ever!! :)

Hello, Mr.Ookba...
I´ve been playing around with your rom version 08/08/09.
I have some good and some bad news....Pick one...
The bad ones? Here we go...
* The communications panel is weird... weird... and very weird... Check it out: My phone is working properly, I can receive/make calls, and the panel says to turn the phone on as if it were off... weird.... The wi-fi panel is weird also... the only thing that works properly is the bluetooth panel.
* The Wi-Fi problem happens to me too... the patch you posted, I had to install it twice in order to get it working. Again... weird.
* This is not exactly bad, but just a note... I installed the HTC Home Screen cab provided by you and the clock is in bold font. Can it be non-bold?
Now.. the goods...
* The battery patch you provided is GREAT. My device is using standard original battery, wich gives me 48~50 hours of use, wich is GREAT. This patch also solved my slowdowns playing Kevtris (I´m addicted to it :D), as I told you, I was having slowdowns playing a simple game like KEVTRIS. In fact, slowdowns have disappeared at all after installing the battery patch.
So, the slowdowns I was experiencing is not something CORE related. You shouldn´t revert back to an older core, your rom is NOW fast, real fast. I´m not overclocking.
So, as a beta tester, I´ve abandoned your test rom, it is no longer needed. Now I´m using your current ROM. 2.5 from 080809 and everything, except the problems that I posted here, works!
One more thing (two, actually :D)...
* I installed the 3VO HTC Sliding Panels 2.5.zip (2nd post) and I´ve noticed that my device is a little faster.. Is it real or I´m just impressed?
* If you go to START-SETTINGS-POWER MANAGEMENT, you see the remaining battery in %. If you go to the sliding panels and click on battery, the % remaining is no longer seen, there is only the bar. Is it normal?
Thank you
Regards

Dude you're right, this skin looks amazing! Would be also very interested in a skin like that.
@Ookba: I can agree with all the users, whose battery-drain improved. My dash is on for two and a half days now and still on 32% of its battery-capacity. So I think it will be on for another 12 to 24 hours. But I also have to mention, that I only received a three minutes call and 4 SMS, Wifi and BT were off the whole time. And at last: I use a complete new battery from china, my original one sucked ass.
So far, good work and greetings to Los Angeles from Berlin

Hey Ookba
Here are just a couple ofd things I've noticed with the latest ROM over the past two weeks. These are small changed granted but useful I hope.
Bugs - Fixes
-Encryption for the storage card does not work, an error message is displayed
-The Windows Live logo on the main UI is distorted and incorrectly cropped
-The CComm Settings menu has a different font then the rest of the UI and I’m unable to access the sub-menu's (I just hear a chirp from the phone)
-After removing the “Getting Started” from the home screen I noticed it had re-appeared after a restart. After removing a second time it seems to have worked
Suggestions
-SMS pop-up: When receiving a SMS and pop-up displays on a locked phone a simple “Unlock & Reply” or “Dismiss” option would be more useful than the current options
Comments
- The Battery fix seems to have worked very well for me, drainage has changed from +20%/day to 15%/day drainage
Thanks again!
*Updated the drainage note (changed form 10% to 15%)

Just want to report the battery fix works. Instead of running the cab, I just remove the statuscheck.mscr from startup. Now my dash still have 44% battery left after 48 hours. I have a Seideo 1300mah batter bot from member on this board.
The remaining issue for me is that background tasks some times get killed even I have 5~8M ram left. Particularly Google Map and Core Player. I guess they use more memory than others? I didn't see this problem with WM6.1 before.
All in all, a very satisfied WM6.5 user.

Hi,
When you responded to the UK user trying to input their postal codes you gave this response:
"4. Accuweather has the RSS needed to input"
I don't understand the reference, is there a way to use RSS feeds to load the right location codes?
I am in Canada, and can input our postal codes in the Accuweather Canada site to get readings, but that doesn't work on the phone.
Any help would be great
Thanks
anybody got an answer for Accuweather ZIP code for Canada?
I tried typing the ZIP code (like H3S 2J9, with or without space in between) or the name of the city, but it didn't work!

Just a note for the ones who are willing to install the "3VO HTC Sliding Panels 2.5.zip" in 2nd post:
IT ALSO DRAINS BATTERY LIKE NUTZ....
My battery usually lasts 48~50 hours... If I use the HTC sliding panels, my battery went dead in 8 hours!
What I did? Hard reset.. and today from 7 am so far (3 pm) it still have 87% remaining. So... my battery is not damaged and therefore, I think this cab should be revised.

anybody got an answer for Accuweather ZIP code for Canada?
I tried typing the ZIP code (like H3S 2J9, with or without space in between) or the name of the city, but it didn't work!
I assume you are in Montreal judging by your PC. The correct code for you would be: NAM|CA|QC|MONTRÉAL, for Vancouver it is NAM|CA|BC|VANCOUVER. I think you get the idea.
The vertical line can be found in the symbol grouping and reached by clicking on the camera/symbol key to the right of the space bar. It is in the bottom row, 2nd from the right.
But I have attached the file that contains most of the world's cities.

Hey, I love your ROM. It is the best thing I have seen. I have a problem with the WiFi turing on. I used you patch, but it still did not work. I have spent hours looking through the forum with no luck. I konw this may be a dumb question for you, but I really need the help. I have your latest 6.5.
Thanks
I would like to add the following. When I go to the WLAN settings, I do not get the WiFi. All I get is Connection Status, LEAP, Enroll, and Power Mode. Any suggestions are welcome. I even reflashed the ROM and reinstalled the patch a few times.
Thanks

hey guys
i have a problem, when i try to open http://mini.opera.com using the phone's
mobile internet explorer, i get "this page contains errors and cannot be displayed". i can only access this page using ucweb 6.3 . however i used to access this page on mobile internet explorer before i startd using 3VO ROM. how do i resolve this?
and does anyone know how i can set ucweb 6.3 to always open desktop versions of webpages e.g. yahoo.com and especially mail.yahoo.com? this is because my yahoo mail NEVER opens using mobile version of the web page ever since i started using a phone for internet, some 3 or 4 years ago. i have always used opera mini to access my yahoo mai, but i want to shift to ucweb, but only yahoo mail is trying to stop me from doing so. hope someone out there helps me.

I was having wifi issues and occasional freezing the first day. I installed the wifi patch and was having trouble the rest of the day. I did a few reboots and a couple of battery pulls and it eventually just worked itself out.
The phone still seems a little laggy with this rom. On 6.1 I didn't have this laggyness, but I also didn't have nearly as much functionality :)

my thoughts, it is very stable. i am very impressed as to how nice it feels. now mind you i was expecting the various bugs as mentioned, but non thus far.
i have to say 2.00 release has been the longest running rom on my dash since kavana and ricky wyatt.
your roms should go on to sticky, with kavana and ricky wyatt.
i saw u said u will have a final release. i don't think u need too, the 2.50 should be the final.
that and the fact when i flash it takes me day and half to load up programs.
also as you pointed out, most problems people are having is probably from restore, if u flash and the re install everthing there should be problems

NOTE: Yes, I have read the CHome Configurator thread, but I cannot even open the C*Faves panels to edit them.
Thanks!
dont edit these
create a new panel and use the contact dialer template for each page

GoJ,
I probably did not answer the question because I did not have an answer. Being so busy, I rely on other users, some much more knowledgable than myself at certain things, to assist. My ROM currently does not support MyFive or MyFaves. That is why I did not implement the panel in titanium. If you are simply trying to create a panel with contacts and a dialer app, that should work, however, I am not sure how I can support it. You need some basic knowledge of editing CPR files and sizing the Icons correctly as well. I will eventually be adding MyFaves once it is released for Titanium. Thanks a lot for the donation and, as always, I try to help as much as I can.

For STIVIX:
Click on Start and select All Programs
Look for Tools folder
In there look for Titanium Configurator and click on it
Once you get a list of all panels look for CEmail and position yourself on it
Click on Menu and select move up (or down) until you have CEmail where you want it (might have to repeat this step several times)
When it is where you want it click on Menu once more and select Exit
It will ask you to confirm change... say yes.

OK!...
Overall the 2.50 ROM is stable as they come. But i have noticed certain things that are not working as great as they were with 2.00
I just installed the NES emulator. It starts, i can start to play the game, but no sound. I configured for enable sound, and nothing. Also noticed a little lag in the game play.
This didn't happen with 2.00
Over all i was much more enjoying 2.00
the 2.50 i waited until things are bugged out. I'm planning on flashing 2.00 again.
the 2.00 was very stable, and did as expected. :D

Just realized that my phone was on vibrate hence no sound.
Also i downloaded the smarttoolkit-sp-rc08 http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/download-smarttoolkit-alpha-4.htmlIt is really nice. Just down load it, it give a new definition to the phone.
I would suggest that it be incorporated in all future roms.

I flashed this ROM and loved everything except for the multiple rings when I would get a text message (EVEN AFTER CHECKING & DELETING THE TEXT MESSAGE). When I would get a text messsage the ringtone would sound when the message came in, then about 10 seconds later, then about a minute later, again about a minute after that, once again about a minute after that and finally again about one minute later . I had Auto Keylock turned off as well as every box was unchecked for the notifications. I don't think that it was related to the Auto Keylock program or the Notifications feature within it because the ringtone that kept playing over and over was the Ding ringtone which I selected for my text messages . I noticed that the ringtone selected in Notifications in Auto Keylock is the Standard tone. I have re-downloaded the ROM and re-flashed 3 times now all with the same results. It can't be a conflict with any programs that I have installed in addition to this ROM because it happens without any other programs installed except for what is contained in the ROM. It also doesn't seem like it is related to anything I have on my memory card since the problem happens with or without it being installed. Has anybody else encountered this problem? How can I possibly fix this? Is there an entry in the registry that controls how many times the ringtone will sound for a text message? I have tried the 3VO.2.00.071809 version and did not have this problem. I have also flashed just about every other ROM that has been cooked for the Dash and not had a problem like this. I must admit that this is definitely my favorite ROM due to the features and the smooth look and feel of everything on it. Does anybody have a working link for 3VO.2.00.071809? The mediafire link is not working now and the Rayfile link is too damn confusing for me to figure out how to download from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Update: I re-downloaded version 2.5 and re-flashed. I checked to see if I would have the same problem as before right after flashing and there was no sign of the phantom ringtones. I checked after making every single change/tweak that I usually do after flashing a new ROM and I finally found out what was causing it. In the PROFILES menu I changed the ring type from RING ONCE to INCREASING RING and that did it! The extra ringtones sounded, I changed it back and it stopped occurring. I have set my phone profile to Increasing Ring with every ROM I have used that had that feature and never had ths happen. I am glad I figured it out so I can enjoy this Awesome ROM now. :D

haha yes you do need to turn wifi on. but, in my experience it doesn't. so i just use active sync to update the weather. but if you can use wifi, well that's great! lets get more people to chime in on this.
My Wi-Fi updates my weather with not an issue.

Thank you for your help kachman but you put up the link to the version of this ROM I have downloaded 3 times and had problems with. Can somebody please put up a working link to version 071809? Just for the hell of it I am downloading version 080809 from the link you supplied and will re-flash in a bit. I will keep my fingers crossed but won't hold my breath. Big ups to Stylez & bipinsen for figuring out the problem with the tiny MMS pics. That problem has been driving my wife & I crazy for months now.

tested the new rom from china and the icons are cool but i flashed my dash back to this rom coz this is much better. I hope on your next release we can see icons similar as that of the rom from china and uses the mms version that will seperate the mms folder and the sms folder and a bit light too. and hopefully to see a new layout of the startmenu.
love your roms. keep it up sir looking forward on your next release

Hey Ookba
Just wanted to thank you again for the ROM, I know how much work is really put into these ROM's and I really appreciate it.
I completed a cold boot the other day and re-installed the battery fix and I'm surprised to say that it seems to run slightly better then the first install. I'll just treat ROM's like DD-WRT/Linksys firmware and do a cold boot after each install and maybe that will help the fresh install run even more stable.
Anyways I just wanted to express my appreciation.
Thanks!

I've been having an issue with the Smart Toolkit. Sometimes it freezes and i can't open the menu or start button, nor can i use the back or home buttons or softkeys. I had to disable it for now, but is there a fix for this?
yes theres this freeze issue on running smart toolkit on 6.5. lets just wait on how the new upcoming core handle this program when ookba realese the rom.

Cool,
Suggestion, if the smart tool kit is fixed, of if you can manipulate it, please try to incorporate it to the ROM. i think it is a wonderful addition.
I've been playing around with it for the past few hours, i kinds like it.
But as mentioned in the prior post, there is something that is not working right, at least for now.
Can't wait for the new final rom verison to come out. :D

I had to disable it for now, but is there a fix for this? Are you trying to use the RC09 version of SmartToolKit? It has some serious issues with the 6.5 ROMS. Try using the RC08 version, I'm running it without any problems on the 080809 3V0 ROM.
