with any registry editor using vox go to below spot.
1-HKLM/System/GDI/GLYPHCACHE/limit

double the size of key 2 to 4 bytes(16384 to 32768).

2-install the 96dpi driver and that is it..

you move to a new look and feel.

Yes, it's the old PIE. The new one uses too much RAM for the Vox! It would quit once you try to load a web page, because the Vox is running out of memory then.

There was no 2305 ico in bronzeres.dll.
In attachment is one with it, but there is an error when i try to go into Power Settings.

It is the first time I tried something like this and was kind of on the edge while unlocking and uploading, but if one reads everything and simply follow the clear procedure then everything works like a charm - Great work man, you gave my phone a complete new life :)

The ROM 6.5 v1.0 is the best ROM yet on VOX.
But 6.5 v1.1 could break the record of all previous rom include v1.0 in eficiency and stability.

, as I installed the Snap Icons to see what they were like compared to the default ones and prefere the default ones, I really don't want to have to do a hard re-set as I can see there is a v1.1 out soon so can live with the snap Icons until then but if there is a way to install the default Icons I would be greatful.

This rom is the fastest yet all is good so far
except on th ehome screen when i go to the battery I can see the % but there is a
BIG X in a circle?

I think I may had a bad flash because with my sim card out I can go to Contacts and the press for the menu button
to pick Sim manager. But with my sim card in I press Contacts off the main screen then I press menu and it froz.
All is well :) it was a bad flash..

Change your home screnn to one with weather in settings.

I think this rom is very slick better then HTC would of done and fast to boot

Yeah, I included the wrong version. If you want one with battery icon, you can install either Standard CHome.CAB or Titanium.CAB. There are the correct versions included.

I chose to make my own Titanium version, because it made the phone more unstable and it didn't always work correctly (like the zeros in front of text and email panels)!

For weather you obviously have to choose a theme with weather (HTC Home, Titanium with weather, Titanium Slide with weather). You have to use one of these themes at least once to activate HTC's panels. After that you can activate/deactivate the panesl with CHomeConfig!

is there any option for the missed called/sms received alarm, after X minutes? the NEO has smth like that. once you have a missed call, you have the option to be informed regulary at X minutes about it, by vibrations. can this be done at this ROM?

I've sometimes have the known problem with wifi symbol after boot (Comm man. don't work / wifi and BT short cuts in doesn't work) and sometimes I have to reboot more than one times. Annoying.

I moved WifiInit.lnk from Startup folder into Start menu folder. When I switch on phone I am waiting until phone has finished booting. Then I start WifiInit with using link in start menu. With these method I have no problems until now.

Is it possible to put in a delay time into WifiInit.lnk (e.g. 30 seconds)? Then I can move back the WifiInit.lnk back into Startup folder and hopefully problem will be deleted.

yes I will reflash now. I had the failure with BT/Wifi again, even if I use my method of starting WifiInit later after boot. So this method don't work.
Hope after reflashing it will be better, because FHM-Rom is very nice - don't like to change to other ROM.

Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. This bug still has to be fixxed ;)

I have just started to get lock ups on theright soft key i.e if I go to contacts and then press menu it frezz or if i press teh green phone key then menu it does the same?

I think I will take out my sim card and memory card and reflash to see what happens.

so I went through all my other problems with the menu soft key and had none!

So it either my sim card is crap or something in this rom is happening?

First i install the weather app and tried again and IT HAPPEND menu key frozz..so i uninstalled the weather app and all is well.

i will re-start the phone and re-install weather and see what happens.

I use the titanium panel which is available on flash (Nor titanium slide neither titanium from the tweaks folder). But there is a problem though - Once I change homescreen from titanium to some other and again come back to titanium the elecont weather panel is gone and is to be brought back again. Secondly, the titanium panels being slimmer does not show the dates in single day forecast. Elecont weather 10 days forecast is the mode I use. But anyway this is not much of a problem for me as I seldom use sliding panel to conserve battery. Moreover, Elecont has several modes may be in some mode the display will be correct - I will try later.

I had the same problem, and it is actually not a problem, you have to flash a new splash screen if you want one. Follow the link in frauhottelmann's signature to flash a new splash screen.

Edit: Problem solved. It was so easy. I had to "Disable Advanced Network Functionality" in "USB to PC" settings.

You have to establish a partnership in the synchronization center (in Windows XP it is ActiveSync). I have Vista. That solved the problem for me.

Yes :) You have to install this cab, but i don't find a way to get back to the normal panel style from version 1.1. If you reinstall the titanium cab from the expert folder, you would get the second there in my post :P

Install -> Press two times OK when the phone is asking you -> reboot -> finish

Very nice ROM! a second life for the smartphone.

I found it very annoying that my own city was not able to synchronize with the weatherapplet in the 1.1 build. After some searching it was due to the fact that the HTC servers only support the main cities. Duuh. OK. so I got a fix from another thread, but no go. Extracted the custom URL, and added it with xvi32 to the weatherupdate.dll on the rom. Just extract the zip, copy the .dll to \windows (first to the storage, then with totalcommander (or something like that) to \windows.

Oh, and don't forget to add yer city to HH_409_WeatherCities.txt in \windows. Place it on the right line (alphabet wise). See the other threads about adding custom cities (to xml files, that we don't have but anyway. Just add the URL as the others in the textfile. That will go smootly:p)

something strange happened:

Suddenly I cannot sync anymore my Vox with Windows7.
Vox just doesnt show up anymore in windows mobile device center!
And also WM5Storage doesnt work...

First I thought it was my cable, but another cable gave the same problem, and my cable works with my camera.

Then I thought it might be something in the Vox Activesync, but when I connect with bluetooth everything works fine!

Anyone recognizes this? What could be the problem??????

I've found still some problems with the "menu" function.
For example, if I put an appointment in the calendar then I select it and press menu (for modify it ...) the application hangs.
I can still come back to the home screen but can't access calendar until I reboot the vox.

I can confirm problems with 6.5 v1.1
I flashed the ROM and it looks great, but when I added several tasks, the tasks programm didn't react anymore. And after I rebooted the phone with wlan turned on, wlan stayed on and the ComManager hangs up and after rebooting the bluetooth option vanished.

Actually like that - I have also installed these, and had the same problems. I rebooted and now my bluetooth works and I can access Comm Manager but WIFI doesn't work. In fact the "small" Comm Manager doesnt't even show the WIFI option. When I rebooted again, I could access the WIFI but not Bluetooth.

is there any settings for the Backlight brigtness settings (in power Management)..it does not seem to be working for me the brightness level remains the same at all the steps 1-2-3-4

And some times when opening the call History the moment I press the right key to erase the call log the phone hangs and I need to remove the batt

It is WM pro...applied to a WM standard device...asw you can se from the X in the top right corner...with all the issues it will have on our device wich has not a touchscreen.

yes bug still exists very anoying sometimes doesnt vanish after taking out battery :-S have to press power button and then reboot to get rid of it.

Yeah, the Right Menu bug still harasses and I get it mostly in Total Commander. Since then I have switched over to Resco explorer and the bug is very rare now.
Anyway, FHM is there any chance of getting another bug free version and also a Custom version if possible.

You will not have the problem wth the rght button if you do not use the wm 65 professional like menu and the slding panels. i use now htc 1.17 home screen, the phone is faster and has no bugs, battery lasts much longer. just try

Is there a app that I can take out of your rom what I dont need then put it back to a image?

Its like on vista I use Nlite to take out stuff I dont need and remake the image to burn.

Its because I cant use SPB TV it wants more memory and there is nothing I can uninstall
to get it to work ok.

Porting a WM Pro ROM to a Std device brings no added value to your smartphone. WM Standard is made to have easy access to the no touchscreen phones. And does a good job at it.

Just update your phone with XDA ROM's and your phone couldn't get any better. ;)

I have made a ROM based on WM6.5 Microsoft Emulator Images for Vox. I created this ROM starting from a clean version of WM6.5. I just ported emluator images to Vox and added the new XIP 21234. ......
- Fast Scrolling...

First off, my compliments on your WM 6.5 v1.1 ROM and it is amazing.. Works great on my Vox.
I have one question,however, regarding your slide themes. When I load the Slide Custom, it give me the following error on the home screen:
"Slide Panther.home.xml
Invalid layout file"
and none of the other modules, i.e email, settings or anything other than the time and date show. Is this because they are not compatible with 6.5 or is there something else wrong? any help would be appreciated.

Having a problem getting voip to work.

I've tried building the _setup.xml and creating the myVoIPsettings.cab and that didn't work. I've tried the VOIP config software floating around but it crashes on this version?

Any help would be appreciated. Anyone been successful with voip on this rom. BTW i use magic jack credentials, which are working excelent on an iphone, but again i hate iphone.

EDIT: I was able to get this to work. I was building the _setup.xml and making the cab right but i didn't have my ipdialplan.xml set up right, and I also was using the Titanium home screen, it lack's voip selection.

Is there any way to incorporate VOIP onto the home screen or make a Titanium with VOIP.

Also now my big issue is the comm manager is somehow locking up and wireless shows as unavailable.

Here is the thing. I made backup of my 6.1 (Sprite BackUp), then restore some files and folders, no databases, no user data, nothing, just few folders. Somehow it is influenced the whole system. It worked before - when I shifted from 6.0 to 6.1, but in case with 6.5 - it screwed up.

Btw the first times I tried to hardreset by the softkeys it was a very difficult thing to do
this is my suggest , I really hope you'll try this seriously...
From the quicklist choose Reboot...the get prepared...press the softkeys while it starts to shutdown...and keep them pressed while it boots up...for me it worked ALWAYS

I've been using version 1.1 since it came out, and I started to realize that this rom has some anoying bugs, being one of them a really bad bug: sometimes, when I receive a phone call, a sms, or a reminder of the calendar, the phone doesn't ring, it just vibrates. But in the next minute if I receive another call or sms, it'll ring. I can't test it with XP, sorry, I don't have a PC with it, nor do I know anybody near my home who has. It works in Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista and Server 2008). I just synced my contacts from Outlook (you obviously can't do that) and the pics were there!

I cannot flash it, it stops at about 3 percent and says 'image file is corrupted'. I tried to download it again,but nothing changes

If you mean FMs WM 6.5 v1.1 rom, I have installed it with no problems.
if you are having errors then I would check your HD in windows

Every 2-3 pages a newperson writes exactly what you have written.
I don't mean to be
unpolite. But...if you had used the search function, or read the wiki (which took about 50 seconds) , you would already have flashed your vox....because you would have noticed that this error is VERY VERY VERY common when you have NOT flashed your USPL

Thanks TheBo and FM tried all them ways and nothing..it goes to a black screen i let go of the 2 softkeys
but it just goes to the home screen. I think it needs going to the shop..

No, do not release the soft keys! You shut the device down. Press the left and right soft key (the ones below the screen, next to the d-pad) and hold the down. While you are holding them down (with one hand preferably) you press the power button with the other hand (the first splash screen will appear shortly). Release the power button, but hold the soft keys down until the question shows up to press the green phone key!

It is not possible to replace it in v1.0 or v1.1, but it will be possible to replace it in the next version. It cannot be replaced, because in v1.0 and v1.1, the file that has to be replaced in order to change the flag is a module and thus can't be replaced! In the next version, I will change it to a normal file, thus making it replaceable!

And now I have some screen shots to tease you a bit. Titanium weather still needs some tweaking. There are two more languages, don't ask for more, it's not possible! I changed some icons and the method for my tweaks (now done with mort script!) I also added a panel for tasks and CCom. Titanium now looks like the real thing (except for the text and e-mail panels, they are not working...)! I have made reflecting icons for the settings panel and HTC's SMS and E-Mail panels!

I have one question,however, regarding your slide themes. When I load the Slide Custom, it give me the following error on the home screen:
"Slide Panther.home.xml
Invalid layout file"
and none of the other modules, i.e email, settings or anything other than the time and date are displayed. Is this because they are not compatible with 6.5 or is there something else wrong? any help would be appreciated.

1. You should do a backup of your rom ALWAYS, and a separate backup af all your personal data
Here's how to dump your original ROM.
Btw if you don't mind you could use a Official HTC rom, that will revert your phone as it would be out of the factory... http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=vox_roms

2. As i said this happen because you haven't done what is written here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=vox_uspl

3. it is a very rare case...and always it is solved by the rom chief...actually I never had an issue, but as i said in the 99,99% of the case the rom chief releases a totally working rom...obviously bugs happen...but people here which does not cook rom is used to test them...and work togheter with the "cooker" to achieve the best solution possible.
If you read topics you'll always find people that has tested roms before you (because here ...we are maniacs ;) ) and if you take care of their comments you'll always now what you would get, befor flashing a particular rom. If not already stated in the topic...just ask your doubts to people who has already tested it.

I know it's a confused reply...but i'm under exams...and I tried to do the best reply I can in the quickest time possible.

On the flash.exe are you right click then chose run as administrator?
bevause thats what you got to do. Also turn off any anti virus as well.

I do this..turn off my net connection/tuen off my anti virus
then unpack the files from the rar to a folder on desktop
then I right click on teh flash program and chose run as admin.

But dont forget to READ THE INFO after you run the flash program.

i.e you have no screen saver....

If you mean the name of the province...it's a message broadcast setting (in italy is channel 50) don't know if it's the same in other countries...and it is showed as an info delivered by the GSM cell you are connected to.
BTW i don't think you can see it in the homescreen actually...
but you can see it everytime your VOx is Idle...using the screensaver by Automatic Keylock at the layout setting "cell broadcast".

You should know that activating Cell Broadcast messages will drain your battery considerably faster - so if there are no (interesting) messages to receive in your network, leave it set to off.

I DO realise that these forums are by their very nature a busy place with problems and questions but surely a simple request like mine deserves a little attention? Or is my question posed incorrectly? Some other fault that I am unaware of as I am new to the forums? Perhaps some "correct" procedure of using this forum? Whatever my fault or error is,please educate me as I am totally in the dark here.

Maybe because no one knows the answer...i do have FH 1.1 right now...and I DO NOT have Slide Custom home screen in the setting, nor I have anything with "Panther" in its filename,,,are you sure you have not installed anything ...or restored a backup made with some programs?

And it is a common thing that some questions may not have reply on forums:
when no one knows how to reply
when it as asked milllllllllllion times
and somethimes it just passes because in speaking with other hyped things ..it just passes un-noticed ;)

I extend my most humble apologies, I did not see that. Please understand that I am ne to the forums and it was quite exciting to actually get 6.5 working on my Vox as it was a first attempt for me. Again, so sorry for the hassle.

Understood, to you my apologies as well. As regards your enquiry on the skin, my 6.5 is the stock standard one from FrauHottelMan, the panther skins are a download from FrauHottelMan's link on his signature, which says "Slide Themes".

I'm pretty sure that those themes were designed by frauHottelman for WM 6.1 and since it has re-written bronzeres.dll and maybe other files ( a system dll for render the homescreen) in his latest wm 6.5..I think that they would not work as they should...
It's just an opinion.

Regarding BT...I've no experiences on that field, since the only thing I do, is connect a BT GPS receiver to measure the timings on a circuit lap...and it works pretty well
