I have this strange problem with the "My location" thingy when updating the weather panel´.
It simply just sits there trying to update the weather for "My location" but never completes.
The Goolgle location service works nicely in google maps.

If i am connected through WiFi all "location service" related requests completes and everything is working perfectly.

...but not when connected through E, 3G, or HSDPA

What on earth is going on here? :)

Change my location to your city in the world clock....You will see weather on Home screen

Yes, it will but show the city of your choice on the second spot.

On R0, if you tweak around with the weather setting and location setting, the my location will disappear somehow.

Someone (prdic) at dutty's ROM forum (not on this site), posted a cab called "disable my location" and it works like a charm.

I do not think yoluca understand what bricking the phone means. TOPAZ = HTC T5353. :)

Since My Location is buggy (I've experienced the same annoyance as you did), hence, I got rid of the My Location from the Weather tab using a cab, and manually entered my city. Voila! No more prob. Goggle Maps still work.

As per multiple other comments on the thread (please can people read before asking questions!) go to Settings -> Other -> ROM Settings -> Comm Manager -> Item Settings and check/uncheck as you wish.

Yes, i really dont think this is provider dependant at all.
It worked nicely on R1 but now on R2 something is preventing it from working at all.
...or almost that is, cause it works like a charm through WiFi but not any mobile connection.

Maybe it is using the "wrong" default connection or something like that?
That might explain why it works through WiFi as WiFi takes over the routing table and leaves no other option than connecting through the WiFi connection?

I think that you have a Touch Diamond 1(!).
This ROM not compatible with your device!
Don't flash it with a Topaz ROM (aka Diamond 2), 'cause it may kill your phone!!

Use HardSPL to flash, you cant flash an unmodded phone right away without throwing HardSPL on it first.

What happens to your notes is that when you add a contact to favourites or other custom setting to that contact it is stored in the notes field on the contact record.
I really hope that they get around this in a future release because it is not a viable solution.

I would go to others ones. You have plenty of excelent choices for 2.1 with weather or for 2.5 I would go for latest NRG or Dutty.

..and to be a little friendly i can tell you that there is no sound in youtube before the second restart of the application.
So just exit youtube when missing sound, turn volume up/down and then launch youtube again and you have sound.

GPS can't tell your phone where north/south/west/east is. It can only tell you, where you are. It's only possible to get the direction when you are moving but this is not really accurate.

i agree that there are some really good 2.1 manila roms.

but as far as manila 2.5 is concerned, i have testet the new energyroms and duttyroms, but always went back to udk's r2. i use it with radio 4.47.25.01 on a daily basis any am quite happy with it.
the other roms didn't convince me....

The screen you mention is used to switch between manila and titanium screen from microsoft by pressing the power button. No need to switch with jomescreen and items

Anyone else have troubles sending SMS with R2 - I could send but messages were never received. I see exo85 also had this issue (#2059 in this thread).

I also have this problem. Doesn't happen everytime, but sometime the sms messages stay in "outbox" and aren't sent. You can check this by switching to "Traditional Mode" (All messages -> Menu -> Settings -> Traditional Mode)

I've been playing with this new ROM for the past 40 minutes or so and i have to say it's a big smoother than the last ROM. I like the Twitter tab and will start playing with the footprints, though not sure if it'll be a feature I'll use.

But one major problem i've found is that when playing back music via bluetooth headset, although Music streams fine when attempting to use the wireless controls to play/ pause / fwd / rewind the phone automatically opens up the windows media player.

Looks like this is a feature of the new Sense manilla wanting to point back to the windows apps :( but seems silly to revert to the awful windows media player when the manilla player is such an improvement.

Is there an easy registry fix for this?

I had those issues. Both have been sorted out. Also, the delay time when sending a message in threaded format is perfect now for me.


Edit: One thing i noticed with R3, is the sun effect on the manila home screen. The light beams really slow down it down while they are spinning.

I had the same problem, it was due to the fact the internet connection was going through t-mobiles speed proxy, once i disabled the proxy in conenctions everything worked.

guys i tought those provxml files would be of interest to everyone,
to install one of them click on them from file explorer, i've put them in "Auto Install" in order to have them automatically installed next time i flash a new Udk rom.
the name should be safe explanatory.
the zip contains:

[end call delay.provxml] - removes end call delay (from 3sec in udk leo r3 to 0sec)
[opera 9.7 default wm and manila.provxml] - sets opera 9.7 as default browser in manila and wm
[opera 9.7 enable zoombar.provxml] - enable zoombar use in opera 9.7
[power savings.provxml] - enable suggested power savings as per advanced config 3.3 (i don't know if it really makes some difference)

i don't think provxml files can be uninstalled once applied so check the cabs i posted if you want to rollback.

Indeed import doesn't work but based on the file contents I was able to find what registry keys need to modify in order to unlock the notifications :)!
So
1. use a registry editor (I used Resco Editor) and go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\
2. here there are folders like A877D660-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408 and so on...scroll to each of these folders and look at (Default) key which describe the notification (New email, new text, missed call, etc...)
3. After the folder was identified look for the "AvailableOptions" key and modify to 15 (Dec) or F (Hex). This way you unlock all the options for that notification (including led alert)

Hope someone understand my explanations :D

A stable and fast rom, thanks a lot.

A few things, I noticed:

-It is not possible to change the Manila language, cause the files are deleted.
-It seems not possible to change the softkeys in the Manila home tab (a change in the registry HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila does not work).
-The Topaz zoom seems not to work in the new opera version (the opera integrated zoom works fine)
-Switching back from Phone/Contacts sometimes leads to the program list instead the Manila home tab.
-Resco explorer starts in the tree structure. Disabling it in Resco settings does not work (you have to doubleclick on a folder in the tree view then the Resco normal view starts).

One question: Is there a chance to add more programs to the quick list of the Manila home tab (9 fields are a bit less).

As far as I see it , when you do nothing it is default set to manual .When you setup a mail account , you get a screen where it says: send/receive E-mail automatically with a check box, and the a drop menu with interval options. If you don't tick/select the box in this screen you will have to do send / receive manually, when you tick/select the box you get the options to set the interval .. So not ticking the box is manual, ticking the box is automatic send/receive .. When your account is allready setup, go to your mail account , then to your inbox, then to menu / tools/ options, tap your account , go to send/receive schedule and there set it to manual.

it's working for me (just tried)
i reduced manila freeze by incrementing cache in performance settings after having installed advanced config 3.3, i can't confirm this is the reason but is wort to try (take care that you can also reduce performance if you do the wrong settings and udk has already tweaked the rom)

However, I now found an annoying bug, which has already been identified in the forum: When receiving an SMS, the sender's name is not shown, but only the number does instead.

This is a problem, since you have to figure out who sent the message. Also, by not displaying the contact name, the whole message threading mechanism does not work.

Anyone found a workaround for this?

EDIT: It now seems to work properly: Messages are displayed and threaded correctly.

I do not know under what circumstances the device presents the bug... Will keep an eye on the phenomenon, and will revert if I find something.

I confirm. There are issues with the light sensor. The solution is to replace the file HTCSensorSDK.dll in \Windows with the old one (credits to XDA member qitt, for this one).

I've been playing with this new ROM and decided to play with the Footprints/geotagging. When I click on NEW and it locates the GPS, I then take a picture. however, when I click on the picture in the ALBUM tab, no GPS info is on the picture. Am I missing something????

How does one change the shortcut icons. some programs like throttle explorer have terrible shortcut icons so they look ugly,when added to the home screen.
Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys, I was messing around with the shortcuts in the Start menu (Contacts, Messages, Mail, File explorer) and deleted a few of them. What I didn't realize is that I can no longer access some of those programs anymore and they don't even show in program list when i try to add them back as "quick link" to TF3D home tab, which I don't understand.

Could anyone please ZIP/RAR all those basic shortcut files from the start menu and post them here? Thanks :)

ROM is cool and fast, however I found that setting Opera as default works only on Internet tab. Does not work on main screen and when opening links from twitter tab.

I don't use URL shortcuts on main screen but as I'm addicated to twitter I would like to open links in Opera from there.

So....

I've made a fix which makes it possible. Unfortunatelly IE is hardcoded in Manila files so I had to modify them.

Installation: Just unpack attached file to \Windows folder (overwrite all files) and restart Manila. Now links from twitter should open in Opera!

I can change that also on main tab but there are lots of file to modify and it's late so if anyone needs that just let me know and I'll try to do that tommorow.

how autoinstall work?

it's very simple! First, need to create a directory inside the storage card named auto install and put inside all your .cab, .rgu, .proxvml and autoinstall will do all the rest, every cab/rgu/provxml will be automatically installed at the first boot.

Thanks, works perfect! Wonder if this is going to be fixed in the final Leo manila 2.5 when released? I really would appreciate if you fixed the home tab links as well. If someone with the appropriate skills would like to cab up the patches it would be even greater.

I think it only keeps mails on the cell for a few days. Are they gone in your gmail account too?

i found something interesting...
i tryed to fix the manila audio manager volume control issue and
installed an cab from this thread...

after this i played a little bit and uninstalled it (cause it displayed only the normal volume control)

but!!! after uninstalling the 2nd overlay of volume control worked on audio manager.

i hope this helps to found an working fix.. this is only an workaround...
