How AutoInstall work?

It's very simple! First, need to create a directory inside the Storage Card named Auto Install and put inside all your .cab, .rgu, .proxvml and AutoInstall will do all the rest, every cab/rgu/provxml will be automatically installed at the first boot.

Notes:

Don't restore any backup except backup made with Microsoft MyPhone.

This ROM is free to use but at your own risk, I take no responsiblity for any conflict, fault, or damage caused by this flashing procedure.

Well you might also want to back everything up as flashing a new ROM will wipe everything that's not on the storage card.

Yeah, however, I am patient enough to wait. Just got the device in 1 month time, no need to rush to flash the ROMs. Happy with the office rom, good enough doing everything....

It is good that the SPL is released,just splashed with success. Also flashed some exiting ROMs, not so good, then back to the official rom, it seems that udk's wm 6.5 rom is the only one that I can expect...

Benchmarked this WM6.5 babe, it's very fast!
In fact almost as fast as your first Topaz WM6.1 ROM (and that was the fasted ROM I benchmarked)!
It's the first WM6.5 with fast results in my benchmarks.

Main reason for the good benchmarks is the File system speed (like in your WM6.1 ROM).
Seems you found a unique way to boost up file system speed, these results are much faster that all other ROMs...

The contacts, messages and registry are wiped out and set to initial status, so you have to backup your personal data with a program like PIMBackup (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705). They can be restored without problems.

For your programs you can try to use a backup program like Sprite, but after flashing a new ROM it is not recommended to restore such a backup.
Better solution is to reinstall your programs.

Zoombar, camera, office mobile suite and auto rotate are working. Good clean and slim rom. Didn't test on exchange sync yet, but don't expect any issue since most of the 6.5 roms are working.

Unfortunately, battery consumption is still high, just like the other 6.5 roms.

FYI, I flashed the stock rom before this rom to see if it helps with the battery but it doesn't seem like it. Without doing anything, 5 mins don't show any drop in battery % at 90%, but after SR, it dropped by 2%. With Opera and surfing for less than 5 mins, battery dropped by 4% after SR.

Titanium and start menu respond are very good. Resco explorer opens up very fast, and opening up subfolders is very quick.

Hopefully with Manila cooked it, storage (337.82MB) and program (109.94MB) can still be above 250MB and all the above working, and this would be a perfect rom.

I mean i have tried games like xtrakt and need for speed and these games are running without ANY lagg on the official (HTC) rom. But on this rom these games a lagging a bit. And i have tried the GFX Boost (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=181696&d=1241194021) but with the same result. These games are lagging a bit. Hope this is something that you can solve in a future release. Because other then that this rom is PERFEKT. :-)

And just a question: The icons in the start menu line at the top right (Signal, Volume and Battery) These are in HTCs design, right? i mean these are not official 6.5 icons, are they? (i miss the official 6.5 icons)

And if anyone from denmark have trouble downloading this rom because they are getting this error:

Incorrect format for file ./languages/da.txt on line 7.
Format is "variable name[tab]value"

- Probably the forum site that has a error in the translated da.txt file. But just download a browser like Seamonkey. Then it doesnt know that you are from denmark and you can download the file without problems.

Most people never had problems regarding RAM with the original ROM, so why would we need it? You can always remove programs from the services/startup if you want more ram.. But shouldn't be needed!

Remember, my ROM it's based on a official 6.5 base ROM, this mean that all Drivers, Kernel and OS are very different from WM6.1, some games and applications could not work property if them are not made also for WM6.5.

Hi I have tried the ATI 3D Driver and it really doesn't seem to make a difference (a big one at least) The game still laggs too much. Well it was worth a try. but despite that the rom works really well. a really good stability allthough it is one of the first releases.

And another thing. I don't know if this is something iv'e somehow changed my self, but in SMS in landscape mode. The keyboard works other then w,a,s and z. W seem to be UP. And Z seems to be down. Don't really know what a and s does byt they do not work. Or at least something like that. Anyone else has this problem?

Zoombar, camera, office mobile suite and auto rotate are working. Good clean and slim rom. Didn't test on exchange sync yet, but don't expect any issue since most of the 6.5 roms are working.

Unfortunately, battery consumption is still high, just like the other 6.5 roms.

FYI, I flashed the stock rom before this rom to see if it helps with the battery but it doesn't seem like it. Without doing anything, 5 mins don't show any drop in battery % at 90%, but after SR, it dropped by 2%. With Opera and surfing for less than 5 mins, battery dropped by 4% after SR.

Titanium and start menu respond are very good. Resco explorer opens up very fast, and opening up subfolders is very quick.

Hopefully with Manila cooked it, storage (337.82MB) and program (109.94MB) can still be above 250MB and all the above working, and this would be a perfect rom.



Yes, as I wrote there is a bit of battery drain due to the new compression, I could remove that but we lose 40MB on storage and 20 on RAM.

Hi udk, on the battery drain issue, I found out something last night. May not be true, but I'm just sharing my experience. I like Twolf's Multiplugin so all the 6.5 roms I flashed from the Topaz forum, I have that on, and usually, during a 7 hours of non-activity (i.e., when I sleep at night), the next day I get 20 to 30% battery drain. Last night, I didn't install that plugin, and amazingly, I only faced 5% battery drain overnight. I don't know if it was due to the battery drain from that plugin or was it because your rom is good. During usage, the battery drain seems still rather high.

Having problem with energyrom latest rom, touchflo 3d can't launch after I installed other cabs. It was working after flashing. One of my cabs might have caused the problem. Hopefully won't face this problem with your new release.

1) Cannot select alternative words when texting. I use the phone keypad so typing "4" "6" using XT9 for the word "in" actually gives "I'm". I cannot select the immediate alternative, but if I go to the extended alternatives, I can select the correct word.
2) There seems to be no place to spell additional words if they do not appear on the XT9 alternatives
3) Bluetooth appears to work sporadically. Phone will conenct but then disconnect from headset (car).
4) Phone has crash several times needing a soft reset via button. Not sure why.
5) Screen taps are not always recognised - especially button presses.

Not sure if these faults are common to all 6.5 ROMs

Well, just updated the radio and oddly (and I do not understand why), the correct additional words can now be selected from the short XT9 list. However, there are still no spelling options. I will see how this behaves over a couple of days on.

The rom was totally freezing - a soft reset didn't 'unlock it' and couldn't do a hard reset because the screen wouldn't respond to confirm 'yes' to power the phone off and as I read the instructions the phone has to be off to do a hard re-set. I had to re-install this and other roms five or six times to solve the problem - I started to have the same problem with other roms as well. After several ROM re-installs and carefully reinstalling cabs one at a time, I have come to the view that it was installing my Shashimi reg back-up that was causing the problem - which is such a shame. It has been the best program! And I don't know what other program will re-install my reg settings so painlessly and quickly (until now). Can anyone advise an alternative please?

I installed the zoombar fix cab. The zoombar on the Topaz works on the first swipe; subsequent swipes does not work well. The "magnify glass" on the bottom of Opera screen works much better.

I ran your latest ROM with Manila and love it. It is somewhat Ram hungry but is stable and fast.

Only other problem encountered - some programs cannot install with the error message "not sufficient system permission". However when I change the installation to Device, it installed without problems. Don't recall encountering this problem with the No-Manila version as I tend to install most of my programs into the SD card.

Thanks again for an excellent ROM - the best I have tested so far. However I am new to this ROM flashing game; its fun.

After updateing the radio, I though point 1 had been solved. I now belive this was simply down to a soft reset. Unfortunately, after leaving the phone on over night, the problem has returned with regard to selecting alternative words from the XT9 short menu.

I will try the R1 ROM as soon as I'm able.

Yea got the hot fix right after i posted.

since i've updated to the r1 rom, sometimes when i put my phone on standby (press the powre button to turn the screen off) - the screen does not show anything but backlight is still on.

the only way to get rid of this is to turn the screen on and off again.

i've selected Manila as my default dont know if this helps

Flashed this morning. Installation was OK, but the phone was hot all the time and after a soft reset and 1 hour without any activities and without any programs started the battery decreased its capacity from 72 to 40 %. So went back to the stock rom.

I have been using the 6.5 2.01 without manilla now for about a week.

Observations:
+ Great on battery life! (L3v5y's 6.5 rom made the phone hot and drained battery in a day) this one works for days!
+ speed

- phone app (where you dial a number) has screen focus over other apps. For example when you make a call and try to go to the calendar or notes they never pop-up. Same for newest wisbar. It shows for 1 second and after that the phone app is overlayed (without chosing it and won't go away??) (an older wisbar does work however)
- no manilla :D
- no outlook enhancements? scrolling between mails (moving fingers from side to side) does not select previous or next mail??. this sux :)

I hope this helps you in your quest.

I've seen it. Looking at the testers i should maybe wait a few days? ;)
Am happy with the great battery life of current installed version and maybe the 'with manilla' doesn't have such a good battery life....

I have updated a few times but it costs a few hours to get it completely configured and installed again with all apps I want.

It would be nice to update without having to reconfigure everything :D

O btw i also had another 'bug'. If you listen to the media player it is interupted (song pauzed) when a call comes in.... so far ok... but after the call it tries to continue briefly and then decides to go to the next song?

I think the switching between emails/folders is all handled by HTCs TouchFlo, and since the new Biotouch.dll builds don't do TouchFlo, it's unlikely to come back...

For #2, it is slightly different. The issue I had is the even clicking in the square brought up the connection setup. This was because the setup was not complete (or rather, was not complete even after completing it). I found out that after connection setup completes, you have about 5 seconds to click "Done" before it automatically soft resets. If you do not click done before it soft resets, the changes are not committed (meaning, no data connection).

Generally after installing zoombar fix, zoombar works but it has happened to me twice that within opera, it stopped working. In such case, I still can use the zoom fuction at the bottom of opera to zoom. For first time, after a SR zoombar works again.

Use changeScreen v2.78! -- (screen rotation app). This will solve your the Windows Media Player problem above and many other apps.

I just popped in from the Raph form, thought this might be the place to ask (if not please forgive me, I'll delete the post :)) While you lucky bastards get to play with your Topazs here in the US we are still waiting for the dang things to go on sale! What makes it even worse is that now it looks like UDK has access to TF3D2.5 and it runs on WVGA devices, any chances of getting a ROM dump or maybe the manilla files so we can try porting TF3D2.5 to VGA? I believe NRGZ28 has already gotten some of the settings screens working but faster progress could be made if the whole community was working on it.

Well Just testing now,I made a soft reset;everything being ok then ;

Now running a game,after closing it this error comes(touch flo in horizontal mode has problem) . Resetting handy.
Now for test I oepn Garmin gps,closing it: Looking at the main page and everything is ok.

Did someone ever notice this issue? I don't know if it is a generic problem or just because of this (udK's) ROM: according to the world clock there is a 4 hr difference between Washington and New York. I Noticed this because there is a 6 hr difference between US East Coast and Amsterdam. According to the world clock there is a 10 hr difference.

I'm using changeScreen for rotation and the quoted issue bottom is still here. I have not set a setting for rotation for Manila, it should rotate only to the left - the default way.

UDK, I installed (R2 rom with Manila) but for some reason I can't get a signal at all; I also installed the latest radio however no success.

NOTE: I went back to R1 and my signal was back up so I tried R2 again & back to the same issue.

I did and it messed up tfl3d and radio.

a hard reset solved it

No problems here with signal, try to take a look under Phone -> Options -> Band.

The problem is that the NotificationManager also for the Alarm use automatically the sound of the Reminders, also if you change the sound from manila the changes are not applied.

Workaround? Set to the Reminders the Alarm sound you want and everything work fine.

Go into settings - sounds and notifications and there change the sound for "reminders" to whatever you want.

But I do it diffrently, I completely dissable the reminders sound, that way the Alarm sound will play normaly.

If all you want is the XT9 languages, i recomend you do a search on the forum for that. Depending on your language it might just allready be in this ROM. I know swedish is in there as is most scandinavian languages.

Strange, I did a search for it and the file was in \windows, a 1mb wav file.

I hard-resetted and it went away. must been from some other ROM i flashed. :confused:

you only need to copy a new one to the windows folder with total commander.
