Does a ROM have to be made for specific phone/model i.e. Samsung Jack SGH-I637?

hi there,

Does a ROM have to be phone specific? i just got the att samsung jack and hate the fact that i cant do certain things because the phone is locked and branded. do i now have to wait till someone comes out with a way to flash "THIS" phone or can i flash it with any ROM?!

i love the phone. i just need to flash it somehow with a nomal windows mobile 6.1 version. my phone is from att and is branded. i cant change certain setting with it...bugs the shit out of me...

Hey guys Sorry but at the time there are no ways to mod this phone aside from disabling 3g and a few other things, here is a good thread explaning alot more.
