Ipaq 612c Chinese to English HELP!

Hi,

I just bought a second hand Ipaq 612c from Hong Kong. I want to change the chinese rom to english.

I tried the win 6.5 and sergie's 6.1 rom but they don't work. I load the FLASH.DIO into a 2gb sd card (newly formatted into Fat16). I held record + mute while pushing the on button. It displays the OS (1.00.04) and radio (0.81) with the message "clean boot" at the top. Afterwards it just loads into the original chinese WM6.

I also tried updating the OS and radio but it won't allow me saying the language is different (CHT OS vs WWE OS) and the sku is different (for the radio).

I tried searching for help but can't find any in the search.
Can anyone tell me step by step instructions? I can't read chinese so it makes this even more difficult :(

ps. I have a 3g sim card that I tried putting in but it doesn't work. other normal sims work right away. any ideas?

solved it.

From the H91X brick and change any language into english thread i found the existence of the "romupdate.dll"
which lead to further readings and *bam* im done. its in english. yay :)

but still wondering why the record+mute didn't flash and why my 3g sim card doesnt work...

fix.

found out that my mute button wasn't pushed. I guess buying 2nd hand does have its cons. but after using the stylus to push it the SDLoader came up and everything is fine. the new rom reads the sim card as well.:)
