Thanks guys.
Hey, Orb, can you help out with the best version of Opera Mobile for the Uni?

Hi Jonny

On my experience tested a lot of versions and this ones I found more stable and less memory eating:

VGA Build 1660
http://rapidshare.com/files/131902256/Opera_9.5_Build_1660_VGA.cab

And VGA 15233 with flash
http://rapidshare.com/files/179682884/Opera_Mobile_9.5_build_15233_QVGA_and_VGA_and_FLAS H.rar

Great work here!
Perhaps ask a Mod to make it sticky

Cheers,

-Jonny-

VGA Build 1660

Orb, you'll have to watch your cut/paste on hyperlinks. This one copied with "..."s not full path. (NB. The same thing has happened on your Opera thread).

Heres a great app for downloading, organising and listening to podcasts. Very configurable. http://www.beyondpod.mobi/

The Windows Live cab is from Tomal. Used it on his latest roms (8.7, 8.9)

Voice SpeedDial works with applications as well as contacts.

QIP PDA #2120

http://qip.ru/download/pda/qippda2120.cab

My favorite ICQ-messenger for my Uni :D

HTC Network Plugin 1.0.30468.1

http://www.file-upload.net/download-1704088/htc_network_plugin_1.0.30468.1.CAB.html

The newest version I found...

PocketPuTTY Dev-Build 28/02/2007

http://www.pocketputty.net/files/PocketPuTTY_WM2k3_release_2007-02-28.zip

Nice tool for getting connection to another device. For example, to config a Cisco-Router with Telnet & WLAN. No tool for everybody...but everyone who knows PuTTY will love it :D

pRSSreader 1.4.4

http://prssr.googlecode.com/files/pRSSreader-1.4.4.cab

Best RSS-feed-reader IMO. But be careful with the "sync every xyz minutes". Use manual check...otherwise your battery will discharge very quick!!!

WiFiFoFum 2.2.12

Good WiFi-scanner. Not freeware but shareware with all features AFAIK.

Well, there is a variant of Win32 worm available for WM5 platform. (Un)fortunately I have a copy at my desktop in zip format. But it is not that harmful. It just frequently don't let you run the IE. :p

But still my view point is, an AV is not really useful for PPC till now.

thanks jcarloss, if you are able to identify which work on the Universal that you can recommend, then I'll post them up.
(The S620 is a QVGA smartphone, whereas the Universal is a VGA PPC, so many applications may not work well on both machines.)

Sometimes I can run IE:eek:

By the way, it would replicate the same effect if you use IE cache on SD.

@orb:

I don't think there is virus. Even earlier created virus may not be able to work on latest core and may be there is something else which is causing your problem.
I still do not feel the necessity for AV.

Ok, I will remove from the front download list. I don't want to create paranoia. As soon as (if) someone reports a virus, I will repost it! I think as for swapping your SD card between many computers, rajivshahi, just make sure the computers have good AV apps.

Thanks Orb, yes I missed them in the AV dialogue! Ta for stickying request.

As for instructions, this is why I request a thread or website to put with the download. If anyone can help here, that would be great - especially if it takes us to a live thread for discussion.

I think that Wiki would be a better place to put this information as others can add to it and it can be linked to each Wiki Device page.

Have a look at the blackstone section of wiki as a reference.

hey bro, there are no up-to-date versions of this setting applet. I patched the drivers and OllieD has done the coding part of the applet. That's the first and last version.

You may find similar settings tool but that is something different and may not work on Uni.
