Proximity sensor will turn off the screen when it's near your face, otherwise this is likely a function of some other program.. S2U2 for example can automatically turn the screen off on a call, if you're using it check its options.

Talk about an accident! The demo version of Scrabble included with our AT&T Tilt 2 phones can be unlocked with one change. Navigate to the following folder: \Program Files\EA\Scrabble 1.59.10 and look for the file called Config. Open it (should open with Word by default) and change PurchaseAct_DemoEnabled from 1 to 0. Save (not Word format) and load up the game. Enjoy!

Apparently the Config file sets the program into demo mode and changing it unlocks it. I found it by accident, and it worked. Not sure what the other settings do though.

With the TP2 you dont need jump spl at all. Just download the hard spl and follow the directions

Maybe, you can use AEButtons. Works like a charm on my phone. It's very useful for mapping all buttons for 1 or more action. Single, double, triple, long click. Very nice app

I just upgraded from the tilt to the tilt 2. So far I'm in love with the phone, except for a couple little complaints.
1) On my kaiser, the call waiting beep always played when there was an incoming call while I was already on a call. On this phone, it only plays if the system volume is on. Why can't it play the call waiting tone if the volume is muted?

2) This bug is VERY annoying. If one of my contacts calls me while I'm on a call, the caller's number comes up correctly, but the name shows up as "unknown caller" instead of displaying the contact's name. Has anyone else seen this bug, and how can I fix it?

Thanks for the link. I just tried it, but it says that it's not compatible with my device. I have a tilt 2 using the latest cellpro ROM (at&t v2). Any other ideas? The caller ID works fine unless I'm already on a call. In that case, it shows only the number and not the name of the contact.

I didn't realize it was an issue in other ROMs. I had only thought it was an ATT issue, but I may be wrong. I don't recall seeing it as an issue in the custom ROMs.

i have no idea if it will work with other cariers or cdma networks. i think it might only be good for gsm. try it. you can always uninstall it.

it should work for AT&T, although I think that they block internet sharing. again, try it. you might need to send me your comm manager button image files so I can adjust the skin for the new buttons.

no this does not. this just tells the phone and email the location on the storage card to save them to.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!

I installed the bluetooth notification "hack" earlier in this thread for my att Tilt 2. Now my bluetooth stereo will not stay connected to my phone.. the problem is of course on the phones end. My stereo/headset doesnt pick up the bluetooth signal again, unless i turn off the bluetooth signal on the phone, and then restart the bluetooth signal. Then after that my bluetooth stereo picks up the signal. This is an awful annoyance.

Is there anything i can do to fix this so my headset will automatically pickup the bluetooth signal when its (of course) on? i removed the bluetooth notification hack installation from my device so its not installed anymore and this still happens.

Is there any registry settings i can modify to get everything to the way it was before i installed this hack? i am competent and have no worries about editing registry keys and values, so id greatly appreciate the help. I dont sound like the only one with this huge issues.

If i need to reinstall my bluetooth stack for my phone, then i will do it if its absolutely necessary... somebody please point me in the right direction, ive tried everything i can think of... I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND EFFORTS, IT WOULD MAKE MY HOLIDAYS A LOT HAPPIER. Thank you!!!!

Auto Rotate Reg Key.

Auto Rotates programs without the need for another program running, you can edit this reg key in notepad to add/remove things you do not want.

Kudos goes to Joseng for this.

I manually added Strings for File Explorer, Today Screen and TF3D. None of them did anything. I even powered down and restarted. After more examination of the .REG file, I noticed that while HTCFootprint is spelled correctly in the ModuleName key, the author has it spelled HTCFottprintClass in the Whitelist key. I'm now wondering if these tweaks are not working because of syntax issues and/or because I'm running a stock Verizon ROM on my TP2.

Could you please verify your registry settings for me for the 4 processes I mentioned above in both the Whitelist and ModuleName keys?

MSVC seems to work for me through the headset button on both 6.1 and 6.5, but cyberon voice commander does not. Cyberon works better for my needs, but i haven't found any solution yet. So i have the rather cumbersome solution of having both on, and mainly using MSVC to start cyberon =P

- go to: file -> data file management -> data files
- create a new pst file, make it the default, remove the old one

I don´t know why, but now i have a problem...

Not having no new messages on my WM6.5 TP2, i get the indication, that i have two.

I went to registry

\\HKCU\system\state\messages\sms\undread\ and changed the value of count to 0

i did the same at

\\HKCU\system\state\messages\totalmsg\undread\ and changed the value of count to 0

doing this, on the manila menu i stop getting that i have two messages and i get that i have none...

but if i go to the sms directorys on the inbox i still get that i have two new sms, and every new sms i get it tells me i have 3 new ones.

Does anyone know, where i can go to set the inbox number of sms to 0?

i did several reset´s and nothing seemed to work.

I have 2 simple things that I can't not have on my phone:

on the list call, how can I select i.e. the 3th entry without have to start a call? what I seem miss here is a button to move up and down on the list call (and on the other lists obviously, like the contacts list i.e.). Now if I tap and hold the tap on the Nth element of my list can't view the classic popup menu, but what happens is that when I release the pen (or the finger) the phone start a call to the selected contact. When this contact is on the top, I can open the menu with the button on the right bottom (with the "open contact", "video call", etc.. options).
when I'm writing something using the hardware keyboard, how can I have the question mark without having to open the software keyboard?

Go to settings/g-sensor and make sure Auto Screen Rotation is "on"
Do the calibration on a flat surface.
Then go to the first page of this thread and search for "G-Sensor program list in cab file" (we're on page 57 right now) to download the cab file for the G-sensor list of programs to rotate in a reg file.
Copy this file to your device.
With File manager, Resco file manager or Total commander (whichever one you have) click on the G-sensor list.reg file and it will import the info into the registry. I can't remember if you have to to a reset but I don't think so.
Now, open almost any program and it will automatically rotate!
I hope this helps.

Go to "Settings", "Sound", "Advanced", select the "Notifications" tab, and use the drop-down box to select New Email Message. Then check "Play Sound" and select the sound you want.

Neither of those are ROMs - they are back up applications.

In the old days you used to be able to do a soft reset as the bloatware started to install. It does however mean that you would have to do a hard reset first.

Not sure if this method still works as I don't have a branded device.
try a hard reset, and then soft reset the device as it starts to install the bloatware/configure your device.

or

Install HSPL and flash a decent rom :)

For me... its just that im on the teetering edge of being full fledged OCD. i cant stand cultter that ill never use. all this junk from sprint is just a bunch of icons that taunt me because they know that i cant remove them yet... i will become the master of my device! plus im sure there must be a way to reclaim the space they are currently squatting on. im doing alot of reading here at XDA, but havent discovered nor mastered the soloution as of yet.

hey, I think this only works w/ Sense 2.5, we have Sense 2.1..everytime I try a cab for this, it doesn't work, a lot of things won't work b/c its needs that 2.5. HD Tweak even has a setting for this, but it never works, so hacking the reg like you did probably won't work either..

I hope this is more helpful than annoying ...

The Tilt2 is also Manila 2.1 (same as Sense 2.1?) and I /did/ use a cab to get the programs tab to show 4 columns. The problem is I can't remember exactly which one I used, because I use QuickMenu and thus found no need for the programs tab, so I deleted it. It /may/ have been 4ColumnsStart&AllPrograms_v1.1.cab, but I can't be absolutely sure.

Try "BharS StartMenu Grid WVGA.cab" - can't remember where on XDA I got it from. I had to try a couple before this that didn't work. I have Sense 2.1.

I made a MortScript script to toggle between HTC Start Menu and the Windows default start menu...put a shortcut in the start menu for easy switching.

Run once - applies Windows start menu
Run again - applies HTC start menu

And then automatically asks to soft-reset after patching the registry keys.

Note: requires MortScript to be installed to work!

I have the same issue but it's now up to 4 unread SMS messages (when there are none). I do not know if it's related but I only saw this after updating the Outlook 2010 Threaded messaging (like the SMS threaded messaging).

In my MightyROM for Sprint, there's a shortcut to directly use Camera mode or Video mode.

As a new TP2/Rhodium210 user (got it through T-Mobile about two months ago) I've managed to tweak this device to behave exactly the way I want it to with exception of one area... the status LED. I'd love to know if there is any way (and how to) get it to give me a constant visual status of connection to the carrier network. Flashing green for connected and flashing red for out of range/no signal.

This is really the only thing about my old Kaiser 8925 that I miss... aside from that, I like this device ;-)

First off, I really like the new 2.5 manila calendar. But I've tried searching and unfortunately I cannot find a registry edit for HTC manila calendar to display the week view as default when click on the appointment from the today's screen.
The other issue is, add the week view option to the LSK when you're in the manila calendar tab.

FIXED: 2010 Mazda3's and Mazda6's are known to have shipped with faulty bluetooth modules according to my dealer. The new module works as it should.

Everything's Working Nicely
My Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 world phone (CDMA + GSM) automatically connects both the Stereo Headset and Handsfree Headset simultaneously to my car's bluetooth (2010 Mazda3 Sport, which I believe uses the MS BT stack from forum reading) so I can, for example, be listening to music with Media Player, running Sprint Navigation, and use the car's built-in steering wheel buttons to make or receive calls.

Upgraded too soon?
When I use the phone's built-in ROM update check utility, it says there is no update available, yet I read all these posts about a Sprint Windows Mobile 6.5 update being released, so I go to the HTC site and flash the 6.5 rom, filename as listed in other forums, which has an exact MD5 match of what HTC is providing is as follows:
RUU_Rhodium_W_WM65_Sprint_WWE_2.04.651.4_RS_2.32WF _NV_SPCS_2.20_0224_PRL60660_Ship.exe

Problem
I immediately lose the ability to use the Stereo Headset and Handsfree Headset simultaneously, and have to re-pair the phone each time I start the car or turn the phone on. In other words, the phone is no longer "remembered" by the car. I often have trouble getting it to let me pair both profiles at the same time, but it can be done after about 5 min of messing about. Of course, I lose the functionality as soon as I shut down either the car or phone.

Attempted Solution
I find in the forums that someone has an official Sprint 6.1 rom packaged in a flasher identical to the HTC one for 6.5.

It's named:
RUU_Rhodium_W_Sprint_WWE_1.21.651.3_RS_1.96WF_NV_S PCS_1.42_0430_PRL60652_Ship.exe

So I decide to "downgrade" to 6.1, but am still faced with the same Bluetooth issue.

Concensus
I believe the 6.1 I downgraded to is not the ROM that my phone, which I ordered through a company program, shipped with. I have verified all the Bluetooth version numbers on my phone to match those of a Sprint floor model, which basically takes me to the point of I don't know what's wrong. I have an appointment with Mazda to have them look at the Bluetooth module on the car and see if they can reset it in some fashion.

Notes
If I try to pair my phone by using the voice commands, despite the system telling me there are no phones paired, if I say the same phone name, like "Cliff's Phone," I am told that "Cliff's Phone" sounds similar to "Cliff's Phone," indicating that the car is remembering phones that are apparently not paired.


Any thoughts?

You need to get a rar program. rar is like .zip, it is a compression program to save space. If you do a search you can find the actual .cab file in the forum. That one is not compressed.

there is a known solution from the TOUCH HD that will also help out with the snooze problem, but you will get the wm6.1 pop-up, you have to sacrifice the new manila pop-up style....

I have a specific problem with the BT notification, since I flashed the new HTC ROM with Sense (Manila 2.5.20121225.0).
Before I flashed it, i had the stock o2 ROM (with TF3D, not Sense) that was on the device when I bought it in september and I could solve the notification problem with the cab in the first posting.

But since I'm using the new ROM with Sense, the problem is, that I have to connect the phone and my BT-Stereo-Headphones (Sennheiser M400) twice. I think it's because of the notification. Because when I enable BT and switch on my Headphones, they easily connect with eachother. But after few seconds, the notification pops up and few seconds later my headphones are switched off. So I have to switch'em on again and connect again, then the notification comes again, but this time they stay connected. So it seems, that the notification switches my headphones off. I know it sounds strange, but I have no other explanation for this behaviour.

Actually, it seems to be the same problem as mentioned here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4115980&postcount=138).

Of course I tried to solve it with the cab from this thread, and I have the mentioned registry entry and I changed the setting for the bluetooth warning in the notification manager, but the notification still pops up.

I also know that a fix like the one in the first posting doesn't really disable the notification, but just makes it not visible (afair), but afair there was a similar problem in the past, that could be solved by just making the notification not visible.

My question is: Does this snooze notification tool, that cuelloa mentioned in his posting I quoted, solve this problem? Or does anyone know a solution?
Cause this is really getting on my nerves... I like the new Sense Interface much, it's really better than TF3D. But with the TF3D ROM this problem did'nt exist. So there should be a solution, I think.

The best would be if HTC just could erase this useless notification. Afaik no Headset/Headphone can control the volume of the HTC device. And even if there are headsets, this information still is absolutely useless. Cause who really cares? ;)

Click on Photos and Videos. then on Album. Now the soft left hand key reads: Albums Click on this When menu comes up, select Storage card. Navigate to the right folder making this the default.

Your storage card should have different folders, DCIM, Inbox, My Documents, My Pictures, My Ringtones. Load all ringtones to this folder and then select via Phone notifications.

Refer to the documentation for your registry editor program. There will be an option for new key (or something like that) and you can select key type=string.

If those do what I think, you can tick a check-box to move attachments to the storage card. Look under Start > Email then tap Menu > Options and go to the "Storage" tab. Now check "When available, use the storage card to store attachments".

i have a touch pro 2 shipped from t-mobile as a replacement. came with winmo 6.5 but no net compact 3.5.
i dont have acess to a computer so i need the .cab to install.
i found it a couple months back but cant seem to find it now.
please post a link. you would think i could just get it from microsoft site or even marktplace...

Most cookers remove Voice Command from their ROMs. It is available as a cab, though. Do a search for it as I've seen it posted either here or at PPCGeeks.

Three questions please.
I have fisrt searched (and didn't find anything about that), then asked to HTC hotline (if you ever need anything, don't try to call them, they NEVER had any solution for me).
So I've decided to ask my questions :
1- Does someone knows how to rename/remove a category ?
2- Does a soft (free) exists that could beep every hour (customizable). But not an alarm (just because you have to stop it) ?
3- Do you know how I could skip the call history that appears a few seconds after a call ?

Don't know about #2 and #3, but for #1 you can use a third party PIM Manager like Agenda One or Pocket Informant to edit or delete categories. You can also use SK Tools to delete a category. All of these are available as trials so you can do your thing and delete. Note that your SIM card has some categories imbedded (I found out the hard way) so no matter how many times you delete a category using one of the apps noted above it will come back after the next soft reset. You need to go into SIM Manager and delete or rename the categories there. Also, if you are syncing with a PC, Outlook may have some categories that may be causing you grief, so delete them on the desktop or they will keep coming back.

My Tilt 2 crapped out and I had to do a master reset but not I cannot get rid of the annoying BT notification. I tried the cab and tried changing the registry w/ Total Commander...any help would be appreciated. Before the master reset it worked.

It is there. Go under setup and "System" and you will find it. In the new ROM, you can use Vlingo but I prefer Voice Command.

I think that is a feature that doesn't work on the cooked rom... not sure why. I think it is explained in the tread...., but it's like 2500 pages long so you really need to do a search or take a vacation.

1) The New Tilt2 Rom (At&t TP2) took out the option to change keyboard lighting to "Always on," once you began typing, instead of working based on the light sensor.

Is there a way to get this back to always on?

I would be pleased with a cab or a registry change if anyone knows where to find this in the registry.

2) When receiving an text/email now we only have the "hide" soft key on the left, no longer have the "view" message option on the right.

Anyone know how I can change this, so I can get the "view" message back, either a cab or registry change will be fine.

3) Is there a way to keep the wifi on when we turn the screen off?

I saw something about wifi always on on the first page, but wasn't sure if that was it.

Fairly new here but I've done plenty of reading, and use the LockDevice app, and the CleanRAM app to help me out.

I recently cancelled with AT&T (no etf's paid, either lol) and want to turn my Tilt 2 into a prepaid phone. I know it needs unlocked, and found a webpage for $10 per IMEI, guaranteed. That's simple and quick, for a relatively inexperienced person like myself (but recommend if you feel up for it).

Is there anything I have to do (still trying to understand how "radios" and things work as far as using all aspects of my phone on a different provider) besides get the phone unlocked? Any feedback would be tremendously helpful, I look forward to your help.

on my HTC Tilt2 phone how do i send a mass email with photos. or send all the photos to the computer.. when i hold shift and tap the screen with the pictures i want to send in the file explorer folder the send in the drop down menu is not bold. therefore i cannot hit it to send them. when i try and send just one its bold and can . i have like 145 pictures and am not trying to send them all one by one. and when i connect the USB to my computer no matter what i do it says it does not recognize the cable. if anyone can tell me step by step how to send the pictures all together please let me know. i would GREATLY appreciate it, bc im getting frustrated with this one by one bc lol.

What carrier are you trying to use the phone on? If they use different GSM frequencies than the Tilt2 has the hardware for, it won't work no matter what. Or voice service and EDGE will work, and 3G will not, since ATT uses different frequencies for 3G than every other US carrier (this will be the case if you unlock the phone and try to use it on T-Mobile's network).

I agree it can be useful. But you should be able to plug the phone into an available USB port and just tap "Mass Storage" when it asks if you want to sync.

Hello, I tweaked my registery to Wifi always on even when screen goes into sleep mode, but when I take phone out of sleep mode I see that Wifi is still on but that the wifi connection has disconnected. Is there any setting that allows the wifi to stay connected when in sleep mode.

To get keep wifi enabled while in sleep mode I changed the following:

This is done by the PC with activesync. Right click on activesync icon and choose "connection settings"... then click the last check-box "allow wireless connection..."

If you want to allow your PC use wifi via TP2, then use "Wi-Fi Router" on your TP2 (most probably built into ROM).

Just a thought on your other question, is it possible the program that is using the WiFi goes to sleep?
