Hi all, :cool:

Special thanks to Faria for helping keep this up to date and correctly formatted.

Since the forum is becoming more and more active with new (Rhodium) users joining us on a daily basis, I thought it would benefit all if I started a thread to collect all the current and future tweaks and enhancements for our Rhodiums.

I'll update the Wiki weekly with any that are posted in this thread.

Word of warning the HDTweak app does work for a lot of settings on the Rhodium, however there are reports that some functions can cause your device to not boot or loose sounds............. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I will not provide a link to it here, as it won't be long before we have our own Rhodium Tweak app.

disable A-GPS
disable GPS logging
logfile name must be empty
old logfile name must be empty
maximum size of logfile must be 0
delete the files :
\windows\GPSLogFile.txt and \windows\GPSLogFileBack.txt

With those changes car usage will be quite perfect

B. Then edit registry
Under: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\
Drivers\GpsOneDevice\PollInterval -> 100 (default is 1000)
Drivers\InputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096)
Drivers\OutputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096)
Drivers\SleepOnNoData -> 100 (default is 1000)
Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize -> 512 (by default not present, you have to create it)
With those tweaks pedestrian usage will be much better but not perfect.

Free up the start menu / Programs Tab icons that are there by default and not removable you need to change (Thanks Mallman)

Bluetooth: Receive files without entering passkey(Thanks Jzhyok)

By default Bluetooth settings, when a device which is not on your paired devices list is going to send you a file by BT OBEX Push, the BT manager requires a passkey that is annoying and useless. Yet, you can't disable this in the normal control panel.

So, here is the solution:

Sound will come through my Sony DS980 headphones, but the quality isn't really good. How to raise the bitpool?

Just as a warning, I'm not sure what I did but after messing around with some settings, everytime I made or received a call and it connected, I could not hear the other party and vice versa. Fixed this by setting all the phone volume settings in HDtweak back to default and uninstalling HD tweak - I later reinstalled it but didn't touch the volume settings and it works fine now.

Don't know what I messed with but becareful as something caused my call functions to stop working properly.

I had to do hard reset after using some HDTweak features - system didnt boot - got stucked on green loading screen. So watch out. I have no idea which specific feature caused that.

Did the same myself, I turned the Volume up from 100db to High - stopped it from working.

In relation to this, does anyone know how to decrease the time limit for when the new sms icon dissapears?

IE: I noticed if I get a new message it shows a (1) next to the message icon. I flip to it, read it quick and flip out. the (1) remains there unless I leave the message screen on for a few seconds before moving on, problem is I'm used to reading messages alot quicker than that.

My tip: you can assing a long press of the talk button to almost anything you like. Go to all settings, personal, buttons. I have mine set to comm manager. In the phone app a long press doesn't start a call, so it works rather well.

There has to be, because the only thing Advance Config does, is to change the registry.

I believe there's an error in the above registry tree. I think it should be "HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\AV" instead of "...WIDCOMM\AV\Plugin\AV". At least I didn't have a folder AV directly under WIDCOMM.

No comment yet on whether this modification made any change in the audio quality - I'll test it tomorrow on my way to work. Btw. I also have the DS980 headphones.

You are absolutely right, I'm so sorry. I somehow messed up the path when editing my post. The correct path indeed is

HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\AV\

Then add LineSpeed with value 320.

Now I'm going to try and find out how to stop mediaplayer from stopping playback when turning off the screen. That must have been done before...


Again this seems harder then it should be :P Tried adding UnattendedPlayback:1 into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ Preferences - had no effect.
Next best thing is to assign a button to toggle the screen via the Mediaplayer options. Only catch is... we don't have buttons :P The four on the bottom won't assign to anything.

I used this for my Diamond and just setup my tp2 with it and it works well for me, so I thought I would share it for those who want to move their emails.

add “PropertyPath” value=”\Storage Card\Mail” datatype=”string”

add “AttachPath” with value “\Storage Card\Mail\Attachments” without quotas.

Cool, thanks for this. Is there a way to split the Notification Manager and Simple & clean soft-reset? I'd like to install these seperate as I like my current battery icons.

Well, I only ever listened through them while on the bus etc. on my way to work. I didn't actually notice bad or good sound quality before I read here that people were not happy with the quality - and after this, yes I did notice that some songs were indeed sounding a bit "compressed", for lack of better word. I applied this tweak yesterday evening, and quickly sampled a couple of songs in a quiet room: they all seemed to sound absolutely fine to me. So, I think this tweak is at least worth a shot if anyone's having problems with poor A2DP sound quality.

Now I'm going to try and find out how to stop mediaplayer from stopping playback when turning off the screen. That must have been done before...


Again this seems harder then it should be :P Tried adding UnattendedPlayback:1 into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ Preferences - had no effect.
Next best thing is to assign a button to toggle the screen via the Mediaplayer options. Only catch is... we don't have buttons :P The four on the bottom won't assign to anything.

Thanks for this monx, but a word of warning for Vodafone branded phone users. There are issues with this with black fonts on a black background on some tabs. However it does get rid of most of the lurid pink of the voda branding

Nice but put the device at landscape and open e.g. all programs, or contacts or some sms on manila. The top bar has graphics problems. The modified files for all tab background has that problem !!

Auto Rotate Reg Key.

Auto Rotates programs without the need for another program running, you can edit this reg key in notepad to add/remove things you do not want.

I don't know what the issue is, sorry! My Wifi works fine, but I have the same error as you with Bluetooth. Hopefully a modified version specifically for the Pro2 will become available.

Don't open the *.reg file. Transfer it the file to some location on your TP2, and then use Total Commander to copy the file. As a location, enter \\\Registry\. At least that is how I did it.

No, that's not necessary. Just click and hold on the file. Then chose "copy/move". If asked to which location you want to copy, type in \\\registry\
Don't forget a backslash or else it will not work.

Yes, rotation now works in photo Album, TF3D home, etc etc. I love it, I could never get Gyrator 2 to work for me, and above all it has so many overhead fuctions I didn't need which only slow down because yet another process is running in the background.

It looks to me your first attempt was ok, copying to ///Registry/. You don't et any notification or anything.
I suggest you soft reset your TP2 and then it should work!!

I don't believe photo's are supposed to rotate.... and why would you want to rotate a photo with a widescreen res? They are supposed to be viewed landscape. The album however does rotate the thumbnail view...

monx® - is there any chance you can upload your ROMeOS³ Rhodium pack as separate CABs please? I don't want the "BG 4 all tabs" as it slows down the screen rotation significantly & I am using another method using HDWall v0.21b here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511) which removes this issue. I love the Nokia font but can't find it anywhere, and also the Notification Buttons and your modified Total Commander.

The problem is that "BG 4 all tabs" doesn't appear in the "remove programs" list and the only way I have been able to remove it is by hard reset (3 times!) There is no option I can see to skip the install, & it also causes some graphical glitches.

It would be very much appreciated, as I have looked everywhere for the Nokia Font in particular & it looks like you are the only person in the world that has it!

Excellent, thanks. You're right about HDWall, you do have to create a new cab for every wallpaper, but it doesn't take long to build up a nice collection. It's just the lag with the screen rotate when using BG 4 all tabs, plus the minor graphical glitches.

But thanks anyway, I love the rest of the pack. I searched forever for "nokia font for WM6", "bill hodgins nokia font", "bill hogins" etc etc. Needless to say I couldn't find it :D I'll just your pack again and delete the manilla files.

I managed to delete them no problem, using just file explorer. Expected a permissions error but it worked fine, but if you have a problem, try total commander or resco file explorer etc.

I have another problem though....after installing the pack, I have a white bottom/task bar that I can't seem to shift. Any ideas? Changing the theme doesn't help. It's annoying because the softkey text is also white, so it is very nearly unreadable.

I had the same problem with the white bottom bar.
I just did a soft reset and it solved it. I didnt get that problem again since.

Yeah that did the trick. Strangely though it didn't go at the first attempt, that's why I thought it was a bigger problem. It took about 3-4 reboots.

Yeah, it should answer, but if its the same reg tweak as HD Tweak does on the HD it also changes the ring volume, ie, it comes out of the speakerphone?!?

i) In TouchFlo Messages --? SMS/MMS ; when create message, automatically allow to 'Select Text' rather than need to manually 'on' every time in Menu..

ii) In TouchFlo People --> All People ; automatically select search so that the keyboard can be used immediately to search contact rather than need to press the search icon first

iii) In TouchFlo People --> All People --> 'any contact' --> Edit Contact ; allow cut & paste option

The BT Notification will still show, however it will not wake the device, a better fix will be done at some point to completely remove the notification, but for most users the annoyance was the fact that the notification was waking the device.

As far as snoozing this is a Manilla issue, wait for a patch or remove TF and use normal today.

monx® - is there any chance you can upload your ROMeOS³ Rhodium pack as separate CABs please? I don't want the "BG 4 all tabs" as it slows down the screen rotation significantly & I am using another method using HDWall v0.21b here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511) which removes this issue. I love the Nokia font but can't find it anywhere, and also the Notification Buttons and your modified Total Commander.

The problem is that "BG 4 all tabs" doesn't appear in the "remove programs" list and the only way I have been able to remove it is by hard reset (3 times!) There is no option I can see to skip the install, & it also causes some graphical glitches.

It would be very much appreciated, as I have looked everywhere for the Nokia Font in particular & it looks like you are the only person in the world that has it!

IE: I noticed if I get a new message it shows a (1) next to the message icon. I flip to it, read it quick and flip out. the (1) remains there unless I leave the message screen on for a few seconds before moving on, problem is I'm used to reading messages alot quicker than that.

install the attached cab file, after that import any .reg file to the device.

now all you got to is is click the .reg file to import to the registry.

I don´t know if it is a well known problem, but it appears that Max TTM has some issues with TP2. I used it to change some TF3D appearance settings and it worked for a while.

After a softreset (changed the Assisted GPS to ON in Advanced Configl Tool), TF3D wouldn´t work anymore: it is stuck while loading (the HTC logo stays on forever).

I just hard reset the phone to try to isolate the problem. If I find what caused the problem I´ll post here.

After starting Opera, It doens't show in the task manager. Here some tweaks concerning this:

Opera in Task Manager

Go to: HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System
There delete Opera9.exe (now it will show in the task manager)



To close opera by pressing the X-button instead of minimizing it follow these steps:

Go to: HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\TerminateProcess
There, create a DWORD with the name Opera9.exe value "1"


If you don't want Opera on the background anymore, you go to "Services" (with for example SKTools) and then you set "PushInternetEngine service" to manual. This will spare you +/- 10 MB of memory. Be aware that the push pages won't work anymore. (unless you start the service manually)

Somehow this app is not working for me. It installs just fine and it lists in the programs menu but when I start the app it brings me back to the homescreen and nothing happends. Anyone else facing this problem? And anyone knows how to fix it? I am probably doing something wrong here.

Where X is the number if the icon you want to change. I must admit that I don't know what formats you can use (.png, .exe, .dll etc.) Perhaps other users can clarify.

Yes, I've tried soft reseting more than a dozen times now. Just tried your suggestion of restarting Manilla service after a powerdown and it hasn't worked.

In the meantime, how can I change the b4all wallpaper image? My Call History and Calendar on the home screen are in black an I can't see them very easily. Interestingly the date is sometimes black and sometimes white! The alarm is always white.

I've installed monx's Rodium pack and made many of the changes suggested here.
I've successfully unlocked the first 4 spaces in the start menu, but I can't load anything into the last 6. I don't know whether that is due to any of the changes or whether it's a Rodium bug as I didn't fill the start menu slots until now.
Anyone else have this problem, or a solution?

Hi guys, keep up the good work (best!)!

I have a problem with 2 things:

1. Bluetooth notifications keep on coming even though the tip on the first page of this topic

2. How can I get back that when a meeting is "alarmed" I can choose to snooze by times like 5-15-30-60 minutes... I can now only press "snooze" and the it comes bakcin 5 minutes untill I press ignore...

I have a TP2 with a DUTCH ROM.

The BT Notification will still show, however it will not wake the device, a better fix will be done at some point to completely remove the notification, but for most users the annoyance was the fact that the notification was waking the device.

As far as snoozing this is a Manilla issue, wait for a patch or remove TF and use normal today.

there is a known solution from the TOUCH HD that will also help out with the snooze problem, but you will get the wm6.1 pop-up, you have to sacrifice the new manila pop-up style....

Have you noticed, that the message history is not scrolled enough, when you are in landscape? There's always half of a line missing. that would be great!! many many of my work contacts have 2 or evn more mobile numbers... 1 is not enough these days. saving them under work numbers or home numbers helps to recognize them without having actually to read the whole number, but then I won't be able to quickly send a sms, which are quite needed for my job!!

Though u might be somewhat carefull, because these manila versions don´t have the same behaviour as older manila versions.

Ok, so I'll have to hard reset. That's a pain but not too bad. But why are these tweaks listed if you need a program (Advanced config) that isn't compatible?

The solution is in the registry. Go to:

[HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/X]

where X is the number of the launcher button that you want to customise.

In this Key you need to make the following registry changes (without the quotes):

Command = "--switchtopage Manila://settings.page"
Dispname = "[[IDS_SETTINGSTITLE]]
IconPath = "\Windows\HTC\Assets\Images\programlauncher\Program _icon\settings_88.qtc"
IsReadOnly = "0"
Path = "\Windows\Manila"

Out of interest you can see the relevant tab title and display name under:

[HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/Configuration/X]

again, where X is the number of the tab you want to view. Also, there are various *.qtc files in the windows folder (if you display the folder sorting by extension they become obvious). These files can be used in the Manila Start Menu and Program Launcher.

The program was written for the Xperia X1, and the X1 uses the Microsoft BT stack.
The Rhodium uses the Widcomm BT stack.

I would like assign some settings to an expanded menu, but when I browse towards the \windows\Start MEnu\Settings it is empty. Same thing using file explorer
But when I go by the normal menu it isn't (ofcourse!). So I am thinking, maybe there is setting in de register that hides these directories?

The solution is in the registry. Go to:

[HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/X]

where X is the number of the launcher button that you want to customise.

In this Key you need to make the following registry changes (without the quotes):

again, where X is the number of the tab you want to view. Also, there are various *.qtc files in the windows folder (if you display the folder sorting by extension they become obvious). These files can be used in the Manila Start Menu and Program Launcher.

Actually when you align the screen, it is also change the value of the following registry key HKLM/Drivers/TouchPanel/PressureThreshold, which you can change manually yourself. So the key question is whether a bigger no. is better or a smaller no. is better. My value for that key is 10,000 default. After aligning screen, it changed to 54. I cannot tell the difference in responsiveness between these 2 numbers.

If you put a second number under radio phone, it will show up as an option for sms. Least it did on my Uni and TytnII. Maybe some of the other phone umber options would work too?

When i install the G sensor cab everything works perfect(flips in home/agenda) but when i shut down the phone en next morning i start it up the G sensor is not working and i must re-install the program.
I have tried it whit the reg key to past in in the register but the same thing when i restart mine phone.

On my X1 i had a keylock setting that let me choose to either have only the power button or any button to wake up the phone. Can this be done on the Tp2? I find it a bit of a pain to have only the power button and this would make alot of differance. Thanks in advance.

another option:
rename the downloaded file "AudioPara3.csv" to AudioPara3_TMOEU_V4.csv,

now copy the file to the windows directory with resco explorer or totalcommander and reboot device.

Just open the CAB on your device. This must be the most idiot proof solution since you can't mess up changing names etc.

I've tried using the AGPS hack but after installing Advanced Config my TF3D has disappeared and the old-fashioned start menu reappeared.

In Advanced Config > Menu > More Settings > TouchFlo 3D it says:
"An error occurred while loading TouchFlo 3D configuration"

When I click ok the TF3D settings page opens and all boxes are unchecked. After checking them all or just a few I try to save but then it says:

"An error occurred while saving TouchFLO 3D configuration."

How can I fix this?!

Besides changing the Isreadonly, the 'Command' registry is also needed to be deleted, otherwise it may prompt some warning message when launching the program or even unable to launch the program

Oh, and also on the Telus ROM (there was a post about this in the main forums with no response, so maybe here?) when you turn from "sleep" mode, you have to hit Unlock twice. It's a bit of a PITA. I have no idea how to change this...

You cannot actually change the order of the program icons, what you have to do is remove them and then add them back in again in the order that you want them

Thanks! This fixed my issue I was having with the Opera beta not auto-rotating (different classname than the default Opera installed on the HTC TP2)

Mine, is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409. I guess it's all to do with locale or whatever?!

These reg values broke my keyboard. I did a back up but for some reason the back up .reg file has become corrupted. Could somebody please post their original values from the following key:

Sorry the original is the Enable XT9. I am using Hong Kong ROM so it might be different. Another thing that may have gone wrong is the 00000409 part. Rename that key to what ever language you are using.

I don't have the et9ime.dll file on my phone. I am using Hong Kong ROM. What ROM are you using?

Well, I only ever listened through them while on the bus etc. on my way to work. I didn't actually notice bad or good sound quality before I read here that people were not happy with the quality - and after this, yes I did notice that some songs were indeed sounding a bit "compressed", for lack of better word. I applied this tweak yesterday evening, and quickly sampled a couple of songs in a quiet room: they all seemed to sound absolutely fine to me. So, I think this tweak is at least worth a shot if anyone's having problems with poor A2DP sound quality.

I second this. My TP2 and HBH DS980 working well out-of-the-box, bitpool settings also doesn't change anything... at audible level... in that sense. No hiccup, either.

I think the new Widcomm stack already much superior compared to previous MS stack. But you may want to correct me of course. :D

Remove Locked Start Menu / Programs tab Items

Free up the start menu / Programs Tab icons that are there by default and not removable you need to change (Thanks Mallman)

Change this value from 1 to a 0 and you can then edit their shortcuts.

Just a note with this one, you also have to clear out the "Command" key in each of those, otherwise parameters will be passed to whatever you put in. This means you can't do stuff like putting file explorer in, notes will pop up an error, etc.

I have a big issue with the TP2 and even with my TP2 that I am sure someone has ran into. I like to be able to stay in the application I left when I turn the phone off / suspend. If I am typing an email for instance and I get interrupted with a call or something I would like to go back to the same application and not back to Touchflo. With my current ROM on my wife's TP when she's in a call and then puts the handset to her head she has to hit the talk button then the keypad soft key to get back to the dial pad. Is there a registry area to suspend the state of the session so it doesn't default to Touchflo? This is a huge gripe of mind. Anyone with a fix would be thanked greatly :).

When I get delivery notification of an sms I get " your message ... to +12324 (a phonenumber)" but I want to see "your message ... to contact (the name of the contact with number +12324). I know it is possible 'cause I had it like this on my Universal (WM 6.1), but (stupid me) I forgot how to ...

This is a bug dating back to Windows Mobile 5. There is a cab fix which I have tried (not my work so credit to whoever wrote it) and appears to works fine. After applying do a soft reset. DISCLAIMER Use it at your own risk.

I came across the 4 column start menu cab in the Blackstone forum, but it works great on the TP2 too:

The 3 row start menu was really a downside to the TP2 for me, it was such a waste of space. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do! :)

i have installd the Update(GER 1.19.407.1) for my unbranded TP2

I noticed in the settings / connections only the Wi-Fi button is there, normally there is also the WLAN button, which is Invisible:confused:

change to available

HKLM \ Control Panel \ Network
Hide = 1 (default in the new ROM)
change the value = 0
softreset and the WLAN button is back ...

You can add more than 4 Push Pages on the Internet tab in TF3D.

The default registry key:

If you need 8 Push Pages:

Ok, have been searching and searching. I used to use QuickMenu and loved the way it controlled the close button, the program actually close, novel concept...I have tried that, AE Button and a few other here and CANNOT get the programs to actually close! I just want when hit close for it to close, not to minimize. If someone can point in the right direction I would appreciate it.

I found out why my phone was doing this - it's a transparent slider theme and it seems to screw up this and a few other things.

Is there a reg tweak to set the default browser?
The TMO US TP2 is set to PIE and also comes with Opera. I can't stand PIE on the TP2 and am looking for a way to make Opera the default browser.
