i use it for business and we have a own application that connects the companyserver every 5 minutes to check if there is a new order to work at a customer (filed service).

The HDSPA needs much power so it is annoying that it is a MUST to disconnect manually :( Before we used a hw6915 - got some other bugs but disconnected itself also after a exchange-sync.

Is it a know bug from the ipaq or WM ? Any idea of a fix?

THX alot.

google 4 wm5 gb-soft-tweak then on device sttings/sys you will find an icon that will let you disconnect gprs at a set time
also you will get more disconnect option
this app is a set of tweak that can be done manualy but i recomend using the app

I haven't seen any wm device with such "interface " (I have seen some devices ;))
anyway it isn’t the ipaq 614

this tweaks go all the way back to wm2002/3 and are well known
don’t forget that if the timeframe of connecting/disconnecting is to small you will lose more battery establishing connection when you sync

you may also have bugs that may prevent reconnection but will not effect existing connection (you can google for sync problems …)

from what I have tested on my devices the effect of such disconnect on battery life can be neglected
the timeframe between sync is the more effective VAR that can be changed
anyway you got what you want and that is the important part ;):D

Btw- from what I have noticed some tweaks are done just because "it can be done" ;)

As 4 your problem if the app that you use have nothing 2 do with activesync (stend alone) then go to start/programs/activesync
Then enter schedule and set it to manual
This will save battery
