Windows Mobile On LG KM900 (Arena) [Archive]

My Father jus picked up one of these (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=6896) and the phone has a beautiful screen and its small.
I like to think of it as a Touch Diamond sized Omnia HD. I Was wonering if anyone was interested in developing windows mobile on this phone, bc the user inerface built on it is crap and wm would set it right off.

nobody in this forum or even anywhere
have to my knowledge ever ported wm
to a device that did not have a wm developed
for it by the manufacture

yes they are.. the only wm they manage to put on iphone are either fake or interfaces build to simulate wm but does not have wm functions and so forth...

Thats rather unfortunate as that phone looks extremely good and has a 3.5mm jack... its only real let down is the OS. Unlucky =(

thats exactly what i thought,

oh well guess ill wait for a next htc candybar variation of the diamond 2... hopefully it will be slimmer

actually there is these chineese phones that has the iphone look and has wm 6.0 pro its called the daxian t32 i had one for about a year or so then the phone was bricked ..

i checked the roms and i found many .vui files with same structure as xperia .vui files. also i found few .bin files, i opened them with a hex editor and header was "MZ", a windows executable file. i believe arena has windows 6.5 with custom gui, explorer replaced by s-class. can anyone check it?

Hi I have the same phone, what would it take to get windows mobile or even android running on this phone? LG said they will release a windows mobile variant of this phone (the GM730 ), could it be possible with the GM730's firmware?

Got the Arena too.
Some people are working on getting Android on the Arena..
Can be a fake, I'm not sure..

If that helps, I can confirm that a rom for GM730E already exists for people who have access to lg b2b tool (I don't). It might be interesting to get our hands on it.

You got any link or something? Could really find anything via google exept some chinese sites with some links wich link to xda dev and some links wich doesnt even work ..

I got the b2b tool but it's worthless without a phone oO

Well.. i have had an arena in my hands for a few minutes but that phone is totally crap and slow as hell..
Even revieuws say that.. i did a 1vs1 with browsing.
The arena had 3g vodafone and my xperia had also 3g vodafone.
My phone was ready and that arena was still not even loading the page!
I would say get an nokia for 100 bucks instead of ANY LG .. lg steals your money and gives you a bloody slow phone.

This is only my opinion.

Someone knows how to get CYON KU9000 Arena Firmware?
Seems to be different to the KM900 Arena

Edit: Spocky, lol, first you wrote b2c tool, now you edited it.. b2b tool.. well..

Edit: Anyway, whoever is working on anything for the Arena, this (http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/lg_km900_arena_forum/83891-android_km900-6.html#post500385) might help starters (use translator, it's 98% german) and this (http://www.mylgarena.com/index.php?topic=973.0) (english)
maybe useless, but oh well .. someone have to start somewhere with something.

I've read on the net that the UI of the Arena is built on some WM standards.
Maybe is true, maybe not. It would be super-duper to have the Arena with WM, or at least one without bugs.
On this forum http://www.mylgarena.com/index.php?topic=973.0 someone has reach to put android on the Arena.

The iPhone Dev Team is working on OpeniBoot for the iPhone to boot either Android or the iPhone OS.

The LG Arena and the iPhone both got the S-Gold 3H Chip inbuilt..
If it works for the iPhone, could/would/should it also work for the Arena?!

I've seen devices in DX site with Debian/WinCE/Android 3-in-1, or is it a matter of WinCE vs WM in such cases?

Would love to see Arena with decent OS not java based :( . Quite friendly size with 3" screen & excellent resolution.

A command to listen to the communication b/w the arena and the system over usb has been found!...

I really hope so, I have the worst phone in the world. The GD880.. Only good thing is, it's almost identical to the Arena.
So I'm sure once they manage to do that, it will be ported to the GD880 too.
