the speed of this rom is fantastic...but as already mentioned the async software is missing?! the connections setting usb-to-pc.would be great if you could include it.and what about the new manila??? are there major changes or is it just a new number at the end of the version ^^ ??

Hmm the link on the front page was still linking to that version. It has been updated now.

A release may be coming tomorrow if all goes well. (23075 seems stable enough) and it will include a new manila version, that is, if it work. :D

didnt work for me either. usually one soluten ist to cahnge the USB setting son the phone but that menu was missing in the last build.
However try the following:
unplug the phone and reboot it
Go windows device amanger on your PC and remove the RSDN (or something / under networking devices) driver
Pug your phone in and the driver should re-install

Intresting. Everything works and swipes great for me. Only thing is the weather animation is slower in this last test build. make sure all your programs you once had opened are closed via Task Manager.

ok, couple of more provblems to report running 23071x3:


tonight the device just locked up. i was able to turn on the display this morning and that was it, had to reset it... the homescreen said 1:58 and the top bar said 2:01, whatever :P
weather data for the first location seems not to update on a 3g connection. if i add another weather location, that works fine, but the first one just doesn't update. also, if i go to rearrange cities, the first location does not even appear there. only the working ones appear, but the main location is the one that goes to the home screen, so i have no weather updates on the homescreen if i am not on wifi. very odd...
UPDATE: ok just found out that the "my location" thing actually is automatic and needs wifi... so since my wifi still does not work for some reason, i changed the location for the home clock manually and now it works :)

problems with 23081 test build so far:
- in settings -> updates & feedback if i click on "customer feedback" nothing happens
- twitter login appears not to work for some reason
- the windows live version seems to be an old one, so does the myphone app. but that's no big deal.

i'm starting to get going with this phone, it's just a wonderful piece of technology. so glad i bought that and sold my 10 month old samsung i200 :P
and so glad there is such a great quality rom like this one with wm 6.5.1 and sense ui :)

somehow mine just got nuts.. i've got s2u2 installed.. and when i switch my topaz on and do something else.. when i get back to my diamond 2.. sometimes it's off..
and strangely my location worked perfectly fine when i first flashed the device.. but i can't get it working now.. the two arrows in a circle (sync or something) keeping spinning on the right top corner on the weather page.. but i get nothing when it stops spinning..

23081 is pretty much perfect. I don't like the change in the send button in the messanger but it doesn't bother me much. I just have to use the back button (<-) to go back. Hope this changes in the next release of manila or 6.5.1.

Only problem I've had with the last 2-3 builds is @ random times the screen goes off. I turn the screen off then it won't turn back on. Also in the last 23075 build I installed my cab for the Greek keyboard and well my phone would not start after a SR. Havn't tried it in this build though.

But other than that....... :D

My location is semi solved, it still does not work but it is enabled now. It worked with o2 on rom, xxx64 and roms from other chefs. No idea why it is not working with yours as it is the best I had by far. I have manually selected london but when I move on my motorbike it was always cool to get weather where you are at a glance...

ok, so 23081 is running since a few days now, and the phone actually locked up a few times (screen not turning back on) so i had to reset it.
other than that, interface animation and weather animation performance is not so good as in 23071 stable (which was perfect in that respect).

Is there a way to include an autoinstaller which install all cabs located in a specific folder on the storage card (e.g. Autoinstall)? I have seen that Dutty has such an autoinstaller included in his Leo R6 Ultimate ROM.

Hmm.. using the latest 23081 test build now.. everything seems good, smoking smooth, speedy and till now no other bugs found yet.. except the usb connection..

anyone knows how to solve it or is there any alternative way to get it working correctly? I really hope that the usb connection for "drive mode" can be fixed because I transfer a lot of large files quite frequently.. having to use a separate memory card reader or the synchronizing way is just killing me.. :(

p/s: I prefer the "send" message button locate in the previous build too.. :p

I have the same problem. It freezes at random. Never experienced this in the previous ROM's. Hope it will be sorted out, because for the rest this ROM is fast and has a nice motorcross game :p.

Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of replies, was visiting my GF for a few days and vowed not to rom cook instead of paying attention to her. :P
And plus I reformatted my pc, but that only took an hour. :P

Anyway it is a bug in 23081 that the device locks up randomly, I will be trying to find a fix or update to it, whichever comes first. I am still personally using the test build with no other problems so far except that and I think that I left out the gsensor stuff again (the kitchen keeps deselecting it everytime i rebuild it, so if I forget to check it again it goes away.)
Sorry that the test build was a little cluttered ( as I said, it was a quick build)

I will be continuing cooking now that I have a day off, and hopefully I can come up with something good. :D

- it hung up once while I was working with Sense and I had to soft-reset it via the "red button".

- I also found out that Word doesnt start !? I just end up within the Explorer, Excel however works just fine - anyone else having this!?

And I am pretty sure that it uses less battery. I stillhave 48% left, with 23071 I had only 25-30% with veryexactly the same usage - otherwise I must use other settings, but I doubt that.

The file 'WLMLauncher' cannot be opened. Either is is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

I have already tried multiple times and each time i get the same message. A fix would be apreciated, Thanks!

Removed footprints as I broke it again, and it is slow.
Soft Reset NO LONGER required after flashing. :D

Notes on this build:
The "sunny" animation is a little slow. Blame HTC. :D
The battery for me lasted more than 24 hours so far without dying on normal use. Which is a huge step up from previous versions. The speed should be pretty good by now too.
Opera hardware zoombar does not work (a bug in 9.7) but there is a soft button on the bottom left of the screen that allows for the same function.

looks more speedier than 23081, however i still experience lockups with manila... it just doesnt react, however i get the start menu if i press the hardware windows key, and there everything is responsive. i can also restart the phone. however, if i turn off the screen, it does not turn back on anymore (if manila hung up).
both times it happened i was syncing stuff with myphone... no idea if it has anything to do with it.

Hi All,

I have been trying different ROM's for a while now and Would like to give this one a go for a few weeks however I have only 1 question/concern.

I have just loaded the latest build and noticed the same behaviour on the previous one.

After 5 mins of using the device it establishes a data connection and keeps it open. If I end it in the comms manager it instantly re-establishes.

I have tried soft and hard resets but they make no difference.
I know there is a reg hack but then that seems to stop me manually getting a data connection for example when using the internet explorer.

I was wondering what was causing the data connection constantly.

oh and I have tried disable the location settings too but again it made no difference.

I have seen other people comment on it in this thread but no answer as to why it happens or a fix that allows me to only have a data connection open when I open a app needing it.

Please can someone help.

my phone keeps hanging up when trying to sync, tried it three times, always locked up... manila becomes unresponsive, even after i terminate myphone from the task manager.
will avoid using myphone from now on and see if the rom runs stable without it

How does one turn off the weather animation from the home screen?

From the home screen go to MENU - HOME WALLPAPER - ANIMATED WALLPAPER and then choose whatever image you want to use - doesn't need to be animated. That's how I get rid of the weather animation!

actually its not ... there is no built-in task-manager. i use showcase myselfbut that seems to kill manila for those who use it. i have not found a solution yet. just search the forum for Showcase Suite and you will find it.

I have been trying different ROM's for a while now and Would like to give this one a go for a few weeks however I have only 1 question/concern.

I have just loaded the latest build and noticed the same behaviour on the previous one.

After 5 mins of using the device it establishes a data connection and keeps it open. If I end it in the comms manager it instantly re-establishes.

I have tried soft and hard resets but they make no difference.
I know there is a reg hack but then that seems to stop me manually getting a data connection for example when using the internet explorer.

I was wondering what was causing the data connection constantly.

oh and I have tried disable the location settings too but again it made no difference.

I have seen other people comment on it in this thread but no answer as to why it happens or a fix that allows me to only have a data connection open when I open a app needing it.

Please can someone help.

You can try "Nodata", just search for it here on xda. It works great as far as I know, it is not eating my credit away as it used to before I use this :)

For the guy looking for the task manager, I too got a bit confused. What I did is that I created a quicklink to the Task manager program. it needs one more finger sweep to bring it up, but works well :)

Also, great great ROM, it looks good and it's fast! I m coming from the Leo Rx series from Duty, and man, what nice change! Thanks buddy :)

yes of course, i tried disablng and renabling again, to no avail.
resarted the phone, didnt help either.
bu then i shut down, took out the bttery, put it back in and started it up again, works again now.

but with this new one all messages i recieve have a time stamp of 7 hours before they are sent (other version was fine) so it completely messes up the threaded messages thing, checked the settings an found in date and time its got me set as GMT -8 hours would this be the problem because its greyed out and i cant change it?

i had the same problem with the timestamp.
i then removed all the locations, and added my own location manually, then the timestamp got fixed somehow...

Yeah, I noticed this so disabled the sound via advanced config. Interestingly, the other 23502 on this board doesn't do it (stutter). I've come back to this ROM though as I prefer it and can live with no start up sound.

I found your post of this when searching for a rotate solution for my Fuze (Raphael) using the 10/29/2009 Energy ROM with Windows build 23081. G-Config worked on older builds, but not with 23081.

I tested the cab you posted a link to and it works. Thank you very much for this post.

i had problems with the 23081, but this one is running fine for a few days now, despite the g-sensor not working.
oh, and i experienced lockups when syncing text messages with myphone, which is odd.
and yesterday i got flooded with error messages on windows live, no idea why, but... might not be the rom's fault :P
other than that the phone has been stable and well performing all along.

a few things I did notice during configuration (after installation)

1. WIFI, there is no easy mechanism to add NEW WIFI networks that are hidden. in other ROMS like EnergyROM there is a NEW button and you can give the SSID name and select "hidden"

23081 rom is great.

I have two major issues and one smaller one:

1. Device reboots randomly when battery is below 20%. It happening one maybe two times until discharge or plugged in to charge.
2. This one has been an issue for some time now. I us my Topaz on motorbike as gps and mp3 player. I know that for 100% I could use the top button to switch off my xda orbit 2 and gps would still give me voice commands. It also worked with stock HTC 6.1 rom. Now if I use the power button it is only mp3 that keeps on playing. GPS antenna switches off so TomTom looses GPS connection.

3. This is the small one. Today due to low on battery I wanted to switch off phone and just use GPS. Could do that on stock 6.1 rom and xda orbit 2. Here when phone is off gps is off. Does not matter if I switch the phone off but leave Bluetooth on or wifi. In tomtom I get a message GPS not available as phone in airplane mode.

Any ides how to fix it, mainly first two.

I want to stay with this rom as it is otherwise great.

Hello everyone, Sorry for the lack up updates or replies. Have been busy with work and rebuilding my car.
I am trying to get rid of a lot of bugs that have popped up in the latest x2 build im working on. So far there are no new features so there isn't much you are missing.

Just installed the latest ROM to try it again. One thing I noticed: solitaire is reset after a reboot. The score is 0 again and the card's backs are set to default. This bug is in this ROM for quite a time.

I also found out, that ActiveSync only works when I uncheck the option 'Allow faster synchronization' in the USB-to-PC-config. Why is that?

This rom looks great but I can't see/setup hidden networks. the EnergyROM had a "setup NEW WIFI" feature and an option for "is this a hidden network".
Most other builds including 6.5 have this feature.

I've been using your excellent themes for a while now on my Touch Diamond, but I've recently noticed that some buttons are missing when using the themes with more recent builds of WM65 (23081, 23502). For instance there are icons now for dismissing notifications that do show uup when using the default Classic Blue theme, but when using your themes the buttons don't even show at all. When I touch the empty space on the toolbar, the notification is dismissed however... also the icon for cancelling the full screen magnifier in 23081 isn't showing correctly.

Are you planning on releasing updated themes for these new builds?

One more question: you removed the scroll bar buttons, but now there is a white space at the top and bottom of the scroll bar. You can also get rid of this white space by editing the height of the scroll bar buttons in the registry and setting them to 0. Will you consider applying this as well? I think it would make the sleek look even better!

Found a bug - My phone makes no sound when I receive an SMS. There seems to be no way to assign a sound to this event, and I have to manually look to see if the green light is flashing to know when I have a message

Yes, i also have freezes when opening facebook integration in contacts, i.e. "Open Online Album" in contacts tab. Your ROM has quite a lot freezes overall. I'm already back at other cooked ROMs

After I flash this rom, I restored all my SMS from backup, after the restoration is completed, whenever I tap on "All message" in SMS tab, the phone will become unresposive, this doesn't happen with 6.5 stock rom which still use MS SMS client

When reporting bugs, please state which version you are running, as I don't know if you guys are talking about the last version, the stable version, an old version, or a test version.... :p

The last test version (yesterday) is bound to have some bugs, which is why i never actually updated the main post for it.

I hope to be able to work out the bugs when I do get home either tonight or tomorrow.

I have also noticed that manila sometimes bugs out and gets white boxes around things, seemingly randomly.

It seems to me that the 6.5.1 is the fastest I have seen but the other issue for me is where is the X button etc - and 6.5.1 has put all of that on the bottom, which I like ALOT better than up top. Also because I use wktask which now uses the top area much better.

Running 23504x1 now. Other than the bluetooth issue in comm manager, everything else seems to be working just fine.

I noticed a shortcut in the Start Menu "Perfbox" but don't know what is it?

At the bottom of the Start Menu, there is a watermark "Beta, Expires 12/01/2009".

Footprint doesn't seem to be working. From Album, select photo, set to save as Footprint, then nothing happens after that and goes back to Album with that photo.

Phoneweaver is not working in this rom. :-(

Exchange sync with Exchange 2007 seems to be very slow, with H icon disappearing after a while and showing only 3G for a while and H icon appearing again, alternating but I know that the sync is still going on. This is rather unusual, but might be due to the 3G network though.

I've tried your latest rom now and I have the following to put my finger on:

1. It's not coming big letters after a dot (.) when I'm wrighting a sms og an email.

2. The musicplayer in manila isen't finding any music that I have on my storage card.
It says only: Music titles in the playlist no longer exists. They may have been deleted or the storage card may have been removed.

But it's not either of these options!

3. And it's not possible to turn the phone round and wright sms. I'm thinking on how you can turn the phone round when you're looking at pictures og going thru your music.

4. My phone doesn't make any sound when I get a sms og email. (and no, I have not on mute) :p hehe!

I've been using your excellent themes for a while now on my Touch Diamond, but I've recently noticed that some buttons are missing when using the themes with more recent builds of WM65 (23081, 23502). For instance there are icons now for dismissing notifications that do show uup when using the default Classic Blue theme, but when using your themes the buttons don't even show at all. When I touch the empty space on the toolbar, the notification is dismissed however... also the icon for cancelling the full screen magnifier in 23081 isn't showing correctly.

Are you planning on releasing updated themes for these new builds?

One more question: you removed the scroll bar buttons, but now there is a white space at the top and bottom of the scroll bar. You can also get rid of this white space by editing the height of the scroll bar buttons in the registry and setting them to 0. Will you consider applying this as well? I think it would make the sleek look even better!

Theres a 'MUSIC' folder on the root of the device, delete it and it will update and show your music on your storage card.

Noticed Clear Storage was missing from this version, in which you may already know.

Also is there any way in getting the default Manila wallpaper back, your wallpapers are really nice but i prefer the stock look.
Usually when selecting the home tab wallpaper in 'Personalization' you get a message to change to default wallpaper, but this message doesnt appear and takes you straight to 'Album'

Hello everyone. The rotation bug is giving me a real headache, the SDK package is there, and working (thus g-sensor enabled apps like teeter work) but no rotation in anything at all. I am sure it is something simple that I am overlooking, but I have tried many different versions of the SDK that I know worked before.
If anyone has any insight on how to fix this without using 3rd party software, please let me know so I can fix it for the next release.

Been playing with your ROM for the last couple of hours and I must say it's awesome :)

I am struggling a bit to find my way around, but that's the nice things about upgrading, it keeps it interesting.

I have managed to sort out almost everything I need with the exception of my connections (GPRS and Wi-Fi). For some strange reason the GPRS just keeps reconnecting. I have checked all the usual stuff that likes updating and everything seems to be off.

My Wi-Fi does not seem to want to connect. Where can I check what networks my phone picks up and their settings? *** Never mind, realised you can click on the words as well as the buttons :) ***

Had a quick look through Wi-Fi router and it's a great idea, I did however notice it had the wrong internet connection selected in the settings and it does not seem to want to change.

Any ideas?

I've tried your latest rom now and I have the following to put my finger on:

1. It's not coming big letters after a dot (.) when I'm wrighting a sms og an email.

But it's not either of these options!

3. And it's not possible to turn the phone round and wright sms. I'm thinking on how you can turn the phone round when you're looking at pictures og going thru your music.

23506 PLEASE with Rotate working and Sense 2.5.

As for the shutoff, I am using a keyboard remapper that controls all buttons in general and by application - it works perfect. I have press and hold power button for more than 1/2 sec just do a reboot - no muss no fuss.

Your ROMS area almost working perfect for me, I just want it to rotate like it used to.

Personally I'd like the 23088 to see going ahead because I have tried the 23502x1 a week ago and it seemed as unstable to me as the 23071x2, needing a soft reset a few times a day. That's how it behaved with me, I'm not sure how people say it's working fine for them and how you say that this is the stable version so far. :confused: But I would also give the 235xx side a chance and see what changes it can bring, so honestly..? I don't mind! :p

Shadowline - thank you for an excellent ROM! Before this current flash, I had not yet tried your work - I am happy to say my experience thus far has been most enjoyable! The 23088x1 ROM is one of the few I have encountered which picked up my location correctly, and I like your style!
I also like the inclusion of the Page-pool Editor - I set my page-pool to 24 MB, and used Advanced Config to set my file system cache to 4 MB, the file system filter cache to 4096 sectors, and the glyph cache to 64 kb, and this phone flippin flies!!

I have an AT&T Pure, and I am using (of course) HardSPL 1.83, and radio 4.49.25.17.

To add to the aforementioned bugs:
- On the lock-screen, the time and date at the bottom are not centered correctly, and the day of the week only partially visible.
- Cannot access the battery at all - from the task manager the battery icon elicits this error "The file powerexe cannot be opened, Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
- Cannot access music via Sense's Music tab - states that the titles in the playlist no longer exist. they may have been deleted or the storage card has been removed.

- Displays very little of the information in "About Phone"
- no hardware
- software only states the ROM and manilla versioning
- battery illicits above mentioned battery error
- phone identity seems normal

I am wondering about/requesting facebook support - I have seen this, alongside twitter and youtube, offered at install customization (Dutty's roms, for example.)

To everyone trying this rom
- try XDA Shutdown to easily shutdown or reset the phone (it is easily found via the search function)
- to everyone looking for something fun to do with Sense 2.5, try searching for Max Manila 2.51920xxx Ultimate, from Rotastrain - it is completely compatible, and adds some cool functionality ( I hope it is alright to recommend this! It is truly a great compliment to the new Sense manilla.)

Once again, thanks - this has been stable so far, and I have done nothing but tinker with it for the last couple of hours - not one hiccup!

Changed pagepool to 26M and now it works very fast for me. Very nice!

It is default at 24mb pagepool (or at least it should be.) So you shouldn't have too much trouble id hope.

23088 is the latest (newer than 23504, just a different team working on it) And the screenshots are the same as before, just version numbers have been updated.


For the ones asking about the music tab, while on the tab, go to the library, and slide over to any other tab (album, artist, all music, etc) and select your song.
The reason for this is it seems the tab is searching for a playlist that does not exist.

No, not yet sadly. It seems as something is still causing the rotation to not work. I have tried every version of the SensorSDK that I can get my hands on, from multiple topaz versions, rhodium versions, and leo versions, none make it work.

Hi all. I have some questions and I hope someone could clear the clouds for me ;-). I'm currently running Shadowline's 23502 build and I have some questions about the manilla homepage. Once I add some shortcuts to it, the weather animations become less smooth. Even the scrolling from the homepage to another tab is less smooth. Has someone else got these 'problems' too or found a solution for this? Scanning XDA's forum I've found a partial solution to it that could come handy to lots of people that are using the weather animations. If you like the weather animations, but you dislike the laggy sunny animation and the dirty rain; there are two older versions of the animation files that seem to give a smoother animation. Just replace the files in the windows folder with the ones attached and you'll see the animation is much smoother. (file 37ec1f0e_manila is for the dirty rain and file 05b6f7b2_manila is for the sunny animation)

PS: If someone found a solution to the laggy scrolling, please post ;-)

My findings on Shadowline's 23088x1 Manila version:

* PagePool 6MB (but you can change it with the delivered tool)
* Footprints tab is working
* QuickGPS is missing

* Manilla Settings Tab:
- Click on Sound & Display: Unable to run "Backlight"
(Powerexe.exe: The file cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. ...)
- Security: Unable to Reset to Factory settings
(It prompts to insert 1234, but doesn't do anything after that)
- Battery: Unable to launch
(error in regards to certificates or missing components)
- Device Info is missing ( fields arent filled with correct data

* Manila Music Tab:
- No Landscape Rotation
- Displays "titles no longer exists..."
(fixed by updating WMP or selecting a song through Manila Music Library)
* Manila Photos & Videos Tab:
- No Landscape Rotation

*Start Menu:
- Games folder: BubbleBreaker: Unable to launch
(error: SHCreateMenuBar Failed)
- Settings folder: Clear storage is twice displayed
(different icons are displayed, but none work)
- Settings Folder: Power option isn't working

These are my findings thusfar. Great ROM, but seems less clean/more bugs than previous 23504 version. Still GREAT work mate ;-)

Hey guys (and girls). I just found out where you can download Shadowline's 23088x2 Manila ROM. If you go to download latest build, you'll see two buttons. One for manila and one for the non-manila. The non manila is in fact the 23088x2 Manilla version. Links seem to be wrong ;-). Can someone please change this. Thx in advance and kind regards.

Links fixed, Same location. I believe the rotation problem lurks in my files somewhere and not in the builds themselves. I tried a really old build (23016) and it still did not rotate either. So I know it is not the sensorsdk package, and it isn't the WM build. what else could it be?
