SAFEST WAY TO FLASH YOUR ROM IS THROUGH STORAGE CARD METHOD:

* Copy TOPAIMG.NBH into the root dir of your Storage Card.
* Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
* Turn off your device by using the Power Button.
* Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
* After that your device with have a white screen with text " Press to power button for continue upgrade or Press Volume down button for cancel upgrade , select press to power button and it will start upgrade Rom.

ALTERNATIVE WAY OF FLASHING YOUR ROM WITH RUU.exe

* Extract Rom download Folder.
* Be sure to have at least 50% of charge.
* Turn off your device by using the Power Button
* Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
* Connect your device to PC
* Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the screen instructions.

* Note :

If u have problem wifi tabs in commanager gray , so i to recommend need Hard-Reset device and Flash Rom again..

some guys say that shadowlines rom is crazy slow but on my toy running smooth after align.
lets have look at Tom codons rom
sound quite smooth and stable and got abt 320mb momery free as on the other side by shadowline is that about 250mb

Well, I've playing until now with this Rom, and everything worked very well. Had no visible bugs until now. Very fast and very nice :)

The only thing that happened was a memory error when I was browsing a site with IE. Not enough memory.
I noticed that when I reboot, without open anything except a task manager, that Opera9 is always running in backgroung sucking 2600+Kb. Is it normal?

Using I3v5y's 6.5 rom (the 21812 first release) and facing a number of issues, wifi can't turn on (even with 1st fix), slow scrolling, opera doesn't work and Showaco's titanium weather 4.2 cab (no weather icons).

Downloading your rom now, download is very slow, started with 1 hour and it is now 2 hours.
Cancelled that download and redownload again. Started with 1 day but now it is 15 mins left. Hope to give it a spin. Thanks.

Haven't flashed your rom, and took the opportunity to test with "l3v5y_TOPAZ_65_6.5_16060901" and it works. Since I didn't try out this SIP since I got hold of my D2 last Thursday, I can't really test if it is working well. When I press small up arrow to change SIP, the A4 SIP will appear as "A4 with 4 boxes behind". Once I select it, I noticed that by default, english character is selected to allow "pingin" input. Tested a few words, I could key in the chinese characters. Strangely, the keyboard seems to be missing a skin because it all looks white in "colour". Tested the rest of the input selections in the keyboard and it seems to work. If someone still has the shipped rom in your D2, please confirm if there is a skin for the A4 input.

Will be flashing your rom once I test out a few other cabs.

Perhaps there is a way to install it manualy without cooking the rom?

it's my first post here so hi everyone.

That's what i figured, the SVlsUN.ldb contains all the words and this reg-change is what you need to activate that ldb file. What Im wondering is if this SVlsUN.ldb exists on 6.5 rom or if you can manualy copy it to /windows.

Yes, these reg-keys are on my swedish D2. But there is more languages there to, DA, DE, EN, ES, FI, FR, IT and NO. So if the registry is the same on 6.5 all those languages should be easy to export/import even after you flashed this (or other) roms.

Thanks Tom for the black skin A4 cab. I uninstalled the earlier cab and reinstalled with this cab (in between, I didn't SR). After SR, I still see the white skin. Maybe it is because I didn't SR in between install.

BTW, are you able to provide a cab of the Opera from this rom? The version is higher than what I managed to find from "Development and Hacking" Opera thread and zoombar is working.

One more request is whether you can prepare a cab of TouchFlo 3D?

BTW, running your rom now, no complaints whatsoever. When freshly flashed, speed on titanium and running resco explorer is reasonably good (seems a bit slower than stock rom). After I installed my apps and other Titanium Plugins, I noticed the speed/response gets worst. Faced the same problem with "l3v5y_TOPAZ_65_6.5_16060901". So at the moment, I had disabled quite a number of plugins and testing further. I suspect the "CDigiClock v0.45.cab" may the one slowing things now.

Phone-pad is realy usefull, especially if you got XT9 in your language.. Typing speed is way higher then with normal keyboard (but that might be because im used to T9 on SonyEricsson phones).

It seems you deliver really nice and clean roms! I did not test your rom yet, but I have a good feeling about them.

I don't know if this is WM6.5 problem or not but, now I do have to press the screen harder to get response.

Yes.i know , WM6.1 faster and touchscreen much sensitivity . If u try my 6.1 v1.1 , u will see that . But in WM6.5 every roms have this problem , u can try other and see
Anyway , this version just for start my Series WM6.5 Rom , if friends here support me , i make sure i will do it better :)

Very impressed - everything seems to be working fine so far - i've added SPB mobile shell 3.1 and am very happy with this ROM so far :)

I've been playing around a bit with the ROM.

Likes:
- quite fast
- working WiFi, 3G, HSDPA, Bluetooth, Phone and syncing works with everything
- English, in stead of my Dutch ROM :D


Few questions:
1) Is it possible to set it to another theme? I don't like these colors, I'd rather have it black (like the standard-rom).

2) Is this new Start-menu configurable? I can't find the settings for it, and I dislike the way it's placed now...

Thanks for the very nice 6.5 ROM; my first attempt to flash a cooked ROM. I flashed twice - by RUU.exe via activesync, and via the SD card method (topaimg.nbh). In both cases I noticed that after startup of WM6.5, with nothing installed, the Program Free Memory is at around 89 MB. This is some 18 MB lower that what is seen on your screenshot of 107 MB. Is the my low Program Free Memory normal or have I done something incorrectly in my ROM flash? Thanks in advance; enjoy your well deserved Beer!

U true , i changed pagepool to 20 mb for get Rom faster , but losed some memory.That why memory around 89mb only :)

Thank you, the ROM is really great and witout bugs.
Only one thing, drains the battery pretty fast!!!!!
Have flashed another WM6.5 ROM.
That ROM drains the battery with ~160mA in standby,nothing is running, screen enabled.
Have a look at the attached picture, your ROM is over 200mA and the CPU, thats the green chart at right side, periodicaly, al 5-6 seconds goes to 100% of charge!!!!
One way to reduce the powerleak is, for sure, opera.exe running in background. Another bug in the WM6.5 ROMs is rpllog.exe, who is all the time running in background like in your ROM, opera.exe.
Have checked that and rpllog.exe (active sync) terminate alone after disconnect from PC. That OK in this case.

Hope you cab fix that and we have a perfect, "green" ROM :D

installed your rom yesterday. it is working fine so far. alright more than fine, great. the only thing i miss is the voice recording function i had enabled from the 6.1 rom. i really need it.

on the 6.1 rom in the call menu there was a recording function that i enabled with a cab. i was wondering if you know anything about that or is it possible to have a cab installing the 6.1 dialer

Another bug is that messaging is missing MMS options. The problem is Greek providers support 300KB MMSs and there is no way to change the settings since MMS options is missing from 100KB to 300KB limit! That is the only bug I found till now!

Yes, it works indeed but that is not what I meant.. I read in this thread that opera is running as a background process all the time and can't be ended.. so the battery drains faster.. so that is what I mean with a fix.. a fix to stop that background process.
BTW a newer version of wm is out: CE OS 5.2.21815 (Build 21815.5.0.5)

Just spotted a bug. When on the locked screen notifications, only 1 event will be displayed, instead of multiple. e.g. if you get a missed call and 1 sms, only one will show, and not both like how its supposed to be.

I've turned off haptic everywhere I can find, but the phone still buzzes when you press a key on the phone keypad before making a call. All other keyboards, like in messaging, are fine.

Battery has been a bit weird and inconsistent for me - i saw a 10% drop after a softreset, only to see it go back up again later on.. Not sure if i'm actually seeing battery drain over and above that of the stock ROM - only time will tell.

I wouldn't mind some of the default notification/ringtones back as the stock ones are a bit old and 'meh' ;)

here is the way for kill that :

Is it possible to get a scrollbar on the program screen? With the reduced sensitivity and difficulty getting touch and flick, I'm finding that I'm launching applications by mistake on many occasions.

Minor bug. Have a file in 2577 on SD card that autoruns. This runs correctly during initial setup, but does not have time to complete before the soft reset. On restart, the autorun program fails to run, and is not installed.

First rom on my new Topaz... and it looks great.

Just seen one strange problem.
i'm using active sync and excange.

When I create a new mail. click on send (not connected to exchange. No network) the mail go to the outbox.
Active sync is trying sync and you will get "waiting for network"

After that the outbox is empty.... And the mail isn't in send items.


If you reconnect to your network. The mail is never send...

If you create a new mail with a network connection everything is ok.

Is this a rom problem... or a windows mobile? :-)

My danish carrier is Telmore - and during initial setup it asks what to use - Telmore or TDC Mobil which is another carrier here - and i choose Telmore which is the correct one

But after first reboot it says under the clock that it's TDC Mobil that's the carrier - does this mean it's roaming ? or is it just a "bug" ?

Either flash one of the official WM6.1 ROM's with TF3D (check here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Topaz_ROMs_Shipped))

Or get one of the other WM6.5 ROM's from here, (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Topaz_ROMs_Cooked) until TOM has finished his next ROM with TF3D included.

Btw, reading the first thread and checking the screenshots will help you to select ROM's with TF3D. :rolleyes:

Zoom bar working is great.

BTW, any chance of improving the battery consumption or any information on this?
Read from other thread and noticed it myself, that when using D2, the battery drain shows not much drain but after a SR, you will see the actual drain. Depending how long you use your D2, it can sometimes be 10 to 20%. Someone mentioned to drain your device after a new flash, and charge it up again. Did that, and less than 10 mins of opera use and download, it showed 2% drain but after SR, it showed almost 30% of drain. D2 was about 99% when I started to use opera. I haven't tried this, but when using Kaiser, it was good practise to flash with stock rom before flashing cooked rom, and most weird problem goes away. Not sure if flashing stock rom before Topaz cooked rom will improve on battery drain.

When are you uploading your 1.1 version? Waiting impatiently!

I'm having problems making a2dp work.

when paired with my car stereo, it lists only handsfree and serial port profile as services the stereo provides, normally it would list "wireless stereo" too.

Any ideas?

I noticed also a difference in the behaviour of A2DP.

It does 'work' for me, but I have to press the play button on my bluetooth headset first, to let it connect correctly. The sound also had some crackling what I never heared before.

Yesterday I did listen to music using my BT Stereo Headset for like 10 minutes and that went ok. It just doesn't connect automatically as A2DP, that might be your problem..

Fairly new to this whole ROM upgrade process and followed through your guide with almost 100% success. Thank you!

I say "almost" because I seem to be unable to load Sprite Backup onto the phone after installing your ROM and therefore cannot backup the device or indeed resore some previous apllication settings.

Well, the strange thing is I never had to use the program you mention with the original stock ROM.. It connected as A2DP and as Handsfree.

Only when there was a phone call, it switched from Wireless Stereo to Headset and afterwards back to Wireless Stereo.

It´s a known issue with framework 3.7, it´s missing directx support, new rom will have that fixed for shure.

I.ve actually been using ukd's ROM but am interested in your's. I have had an odd problem with Bluetooth - the phone registered but then the second time the headset (car radio) was activated, the phone could not be found. I had to delete the pairing and start over.

Not sure if this is the same problem or not.

Same results after hard reset and re-flash.

Firstly thanks for your ROM (Full with Manilla). I have been using it for a short while and you have done a great job. Thanks for your work and talent.

I have 2 suggestions for future releases, if I may:

1. The icons in the Programs and Settings pages be made a little larger (if possible) as for my old eyes it's hard to read the text underneath them.

2. Has anyone else noticed this (and this is not specific to Tom's ROM): when I am in any of the Settings as soon as I change any setting and tap the ok or tick I am immediately sent to home tab rather than being sent back to the settings page? This is annoying only if you want to change multiple settings.

What I did to get it to work was go into connections settings and delete Media Net, and then go through the auto configuration, for some reason it was corrupted. Had a bunch of square boxes in the text boxes where the settings would normally be manually entered.

Still, I have to say that your latest rom is really worth waiting for as it's so smooth, fast, very light weight with much storage and program space, screen is very responsive, zoombar working (neat that you manage to make it scroll in file explorer, for me, works in resco explorer as well - is this only registry or also files involved?), in Manila - All settings works, nice new taskbar icons, camera, exchange 2007 sync, media player all working, .......

If you had used your Titanium background as your Manila background, it would be perfectly matched. BTW, I'm using the full Manila version.

Lastly, like to congratulate you on this achievement!

Fantastic rom. All has been working well and it's very stable.
One small question. Is there a simple way to have the main page wallpaper all the way through (or a different one on the other tabs)? I love everything about the rom except the secondary wallpaper. I tried 2 cabs I found in the site that supposedly kept the main wallpaper throughout but they didn't work.
