Great Rom really cool like it a lot but I have one little problem.

When I open contact it's shows my contact on the sim card and my contact's on the phone, I just want to see my contact on my phone not on my sim card.

Normally you hit the tab filter and then device contact and your done, mine hops back to all contact's, why is that is there a fix or work around?

When I start my device, the battery icon says 100%, but if I restart my device, the battery icon become 90% or lower. The maximum drop reaches 20%, why is that?

I love this rom, i have tried a few now and found others to be buggy or trying to replicate an iPhone, If i wanted an Iphone i would have bought one !

This rom is stylish, fast and works brilliantly, thanks for all the effort you have clearly put in.

The only thing I am having a slight issue with is the twitter client, It doesnt let me click it to configure it and therefore i cant put my username and password in, any ideas ?

I have several problems with this ROM, I hope you can use my input for getting it better!

- Graphic of the alarm on the homescreen clock is missing? It shows as a grey block when the alarm is active. (no pics, sorry)
- There is another grey block on the upper left corner of the clock. It won't go away. (no pics, sorry)
- The home screen gives a lot of errors by freezing. You can go to the apps with the Windows button, but when you return to the homescreen it's still frozen. The long power button press will respond though, so you can reset.

Some good things about your ROM to end with:

Good integration with the zoom bar as scroll bar
The long buttons presses come up with fancy AND USEFUL!!! options :)
Lots of programs included that are very useful as well.

after using your ROM for few minutes, i noticed i cannot access Power Settings under
Start >> Settings >> System >> ....
It says, "The file 'powerexe' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

What can be the cause?? This never happened to me in the past, with any other ROM...

I would be thankful for any comments...

Yea.. its a BIG problem for me as well.. I need to set automatic backlight and standby time and power off time,.. I guess i need to find a registry workaround for the time being, atleast until the cooker patches this..

Edit the XML file 27c65cbd_manila. Even if you don't know XML, it should be pretty easy to figure out what you need to do. :)

Finally I succeeded to connect. Unfortunately I can't reproduce all manipulations I made. After playing with wifi settings in registry back and forward and multiple reboots, it started working. It looks ok now. Already connected to multiple networks.

i have made change to the registry to store my email and attachments on the SD card instead of the phone but its giving me a problem.

after making the reg change my sd card is always called "storage card 2" instead of "storage card"

i think when the reg edit makes the mail folder on the sd card at boot up the sd card is not powered. so a folder called "storage card" is created.

then becase the name storage card is allready in use by the time the sd card is recognised it names storage card 2

the problem was not present on previous nrg roms.

Try a soft reset. It worked for me...

1. it sounds like tbe wifi bug is gone... true or false?
2. wierd question, but is the email sreen changed? if looked like in the new picture that its back to the default slanted view... not the full page view anymore. true or false?
3. will the new lock allow for the device to be locked on shutdown without a pin? i may have misunderstood the purpose.

I switched wifi off and soft-reset it. No problem last 12 hours.

My wifi on Photon is wacky.

It periodically blips (every minute? every five minutes? hard to say). If I'm transferring data over 3G at the same time a blip occurs, I get a data error (i.e. updating weather puts up dialog about connection error).

If I soft-reset with the wifi off, it comes back on at reboot - although the connection manager slider is in the 'off' position. I slide to 'on' and then back 'off' and wifi turns off (for a while that is, until it starts blipping).

If I have wifi on and connected to my home network (which I had to fiddle with because it wouldn't connect the first several times with WPA), it still blips occassionally, interrupting my connection. The connection seems to be restored after the blip, but can still cause errors in programs using the connection during the blip.

It seems to me this may be some 'feature' that has been enabled to always show you available networks. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any way to disable this 'feature'?

hello nrg,flashed your ROM yesterday and i am pleasantly surprised......UI is the best looking i ever see on topaz Rom's and i tried almost everything till today.you did fantastic job about wallpaper.taskbar,softkeybar......ROM is fast(not the fastest),stable and the most important thing,everything is working for day to day use(except the powerexe.exe but you already have a fix)....really nice job.i don't have problem with wifi.what i don't like is a bunch of useless apps,more or less(MSN money,softkey manager,registry editor,pocket rar,actionscreen....)but that is my opinion.you could make much lighter rom so we can decide what to install....for example if i install resco-explorer it change five of your installed apps and i cannot uninstall them because they are in ROM....waiting for your next ROM(2.1 manila...i dont like 2.5) already because of your fantastic style.....fantastic job,thanks:):):)

NRG says he's tied to write a changelog today (in his twitter). So, an "official" announcement will be probably only tomorrow. But you may try it (on your own risk of course).

The 'disconnect after 1 minute' will turn it off if there is nothing else actively using... so something must be trying to get data...from the above

Sort of on the same note, maybe not...

Having random battery drains. I'll have 90%, then within a half hour it'll go down to 21%. I've tried it with all radios off and location/gps services, etc. all off as well. Should I attribute it to the malicious WIFI bug?

Over on the NRG Rhodium forum, there has been comments about Oct7 manila being more stable than the new 1919 in the Oct11 builds.

I would appreciate any news on random freezes or lockups, etc.

I made a new ROM based on the latest 23071 SYS build from Da_G (this is 6.5.1).

It's got the new layout of course and a few bugs... so the ROM is a beta for now. I will keep working to improve it. I included the newest Showcase task manager and removed the HTC task manager and also include VolumeX to replace the crappy microsoft volume control. The dialer is also patched to remove the scrollbars. Right now Showcase is acting up and sometimes it doesnt launch, a softreset fixes that. VolumeX also wants you to set settings everytime you reboot, but it's fine after that. Please test for OTHER bugs and let me know what you find. Please keep complains at a minimum, as this is a beta release :) Thanks :) And enjoy... Oh and no mirrors please, as I'm likely to change the build quite often and want to keep the confusion at a minimum. If you want to mirror it, please only send PMs with them. Thanks again.

Nice work I'll test it but why did you remove the HTC taskmanager ? It's very usefull you can turn off a software when you're in another software, with your kind of taskmanager we've to go on a fullscreen taskmanager to manage, or sometimes I just like to tip on the top right of my screen to see the "ram used" by software for exemple.

Another thing, I don't like the big buttons in the bottom bar. I think that text buttons are more clean than a big [action] button or [contacts] for exemple.

It's just my opinion about the interface, I'll test now...and tell you if found any bug =).

Oops I miss a thing, the volume control, we already have the HTC volume control when we push the volume buttons on the left of the topaz no ? And we've the two buttons "mute" and "vibrate" and the skin is more attractive than volumeX :P.

I have been on the 8/25 version until now, with an older radio the wifi bug is there with 10/11.

However, I also have a Rhodium and notice the the WIFI wizard is different on the rhodium - doesn't have the 'auto connect whenever' option.

@NRGZ28 - could we please have Topaz ROM Oct11 version with Rhodium wifi wizard? I really like the 1919 manila and it seems more stable on the Pure than on my Tilt2 (subjective eval only).

Is the goal with this ROM to be like the LEO version other than the homepage? If so then it would be perfect for me. I flip flop between the Energy photon and Leo roms constantly. I like that the Leo ROM uses more HTC elements (specifically messaging) rather than the windows ones, and that its way more customizable for me (background for all pages, clocks ect), but I like the Photons home page with more appointments and having missed calls show up (i never know ive missed a call with leo because the notification is always on due to all the wireless networks around).

Does anyone have a Background for all Tabs that works for this ROM and any manila clock files so i can build my own? Maybe im just not finding the right ones when i search but they all end up distorted for me, should i be looking at diamond themes or HD themes for this rom?

Anyways, great work, been using your ROMs forever, your the reason I came back from the iphone.

I made a new ROM based on the latest 23071 SYS build from Da_G (this is 6.5.1).

It's got the new layout of course and a few bugs... so the ROM is a beta for now. I will keep working to improve it. I included the newest Showcase task manager and removed the HTC task manager and also include VolumeX to replace the crappy microsoft volume control. The dialer is also patched to remove the scrollbars. Right now Showcase is acting up and sometimes it doesnt launch, a softreset fixes that. VolumeX also wants you to set settings everytime you reboot, but it's fine after that. Please test for OTHER bugs and let me know what you find. Please keep complains at a minimum, as this is a beta release :) Thanks :) And enjoy... Oh and no mirrors please, as I'm likely to change the build quite often and want to keep the confusion at a minimum. If you want to mirror it, please only send PMs with them. Thanks again.

So I am new to the Topaz, but have had a Tilt I have been moding for years.

I just started with your latest 23071 and having already done a Dutty and a Shadowline here are my thoughts (and Questions):

1 - I like the new interface of 6.5.1 mainly because I use WKTASK which essentially kicks the ass off every other task manager - period. Yes it has a few quirks, but its launcher I use all the time from everywhere and its use of the upper task bar to easily switch between apps is the best. With the Windows button moved down this leaves much more room for wktask apps.

2 - In the home screen - why no quicklinks ? Can that be turned on?

3 - Is it possible to add my own Manila tabs or do they need to conform and be burnt with the ROM - If its possible can you tell me what is the tab name of the last Programs tab?

4 - Now for my big one which will keep me from using this ROM - somehow the latest Shadowline ROM allows all the OLD TCPMP builds to work - which means I can actually play both types of .flv files along with all the other ones. I still don't know what magic makes this work, but maybe you can find out from Shadowline.

5 - I found this program called TopazkbdControl which allows me to remap ALL of the Topaz's buttons for default as well as specific app by window name for Click, Double Click and Click and Hold! I think this should be included in your ROMS - works great for me.

Ive attached the files I edited to make my clock. If you want to use it just unzip to your windows folder. Its black Tmob backs with Defused font numbers. Also has the dusk call history and alarm icons.

This 23071 10/22 ROM is awesome. have had no issues yet.

I haven't tried Wifi Monster yet, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try and see if it helps. I have set the powersave mode to "best battery", and noticed that that helps quite a bit, actually.

i'm not sure if you're talking about incoming calls, but i had a problem with my incoming calls. i'm was using s2u2's slide2answer feature and it seems to be causing problems with the phone built-in caller id system. when turned on calls won't ring, and the slider to answer or reject calls doesn't work. neither do the hard keys. but when i turned off all the options in s2us's phone option calls went back to normal. also im using an htc pure from att and the rom i have is the 10/21 21864 rom.

With Resco Explorer & the Registry Plug-in installed, I can't run the registry script with it. If I forced the script to be opened by Resco Explorer, it says that the registry script is not valid. It doesn't happen t any other ROM that I tried.

23071 and 23081 doesn't have many differences. 23081 has a known issue of not recovering from standby. Use at your own risk.

Brand new Diamond II, installed HSPL 1.83 OliNex then upgraded the radio straight away to 4.49.25.17 then installed this ROM (21864 Oct28 Standard) successfully then on boot, the phone gets stuck on the very first screen (HTC Touch Diamond 2)
I then tried soft resets, hard resets to no avail..
I loaded into the bootloader and installed an older Topaz rom I had around and it installed and rebooted with no problems..

Thinking I had a corrupt download, I downloaded 21864 Oct28 Standard from another computer and flashed it again.. same problem.. stuck on the Diamond 2 screen.

Anyone else having this issue? could it be radio related?
I now want to install the Oct25 ROM (21864 standard M2.1) but I can't find it on hotfile.. does anyone have it?

Thinking I had a corrupt download, I downloaded 21864 Oct28 Standard from another computer and flashed it again.. same problem.. stuck on the Diamond 2 screen.

Anyone else having this issue? could it be radio related?
I now want to install the Oct25 ROM (21864 standard M2.1) but I can't find it on hotfile.. does anyone have it?


The 23081 Build worked for me, after I tried the 21864 Build and both EnergyRom Leo Builds. With the 21864 and both Leo Builds I had the same problem - the device didn't boot.
Only the 23081 Build works fine.

Hey, great ROM! I am using 23081_TOPAZ_28.Oct.2009, and only think i have found is Bubble Breaker.
On launch it says "SHCreateMenuBar Failed", then hangs the app.

I have been running on this rom for only a day, and havn't experienced the wifi bug yet.

Turns out that my activeSync issues were from 'rogue' appts which kept creeping in. With a fresh load, following FAQ by not set 'ask me' and disabling hi speed USB, all is good. :D

off topic, but wanted to let u know as it bodes well for 23081 on PURE...;)

This is a perfect ROM for me. Ik like the homescreen more than 2.5 manilla. The app buttons on 2.5 makes the homescreen too sloppy.

Think I found out what was wrong... I didn't have the newst HardSPL installed. I had the Olinex 1.33 and now with the 1.83 it is working fine.

So far with Nov 3rd 21864 the graphics are updated with a very nice opaque clock and a small weather "bar". Only buggy thing ive hit so far is the facebook integration doesnt work as well as the last build, it doesnt update like the earlier versions.

i think you need the HardSPL upgrade to verson 1.83

I installed the 21864 build / standard energy rom and everything looked perfectly fine - until I tried to connect to internet using wifi. The Topaz gets an IP and everything looks fine, EXCEPT no application can access internet. I've a iPAQ beside this one and it runs smoothly on the same network.
Any suggestions? (yes, it worked fine until I upgraded ;))

Edit: correction regarding IP: checked the router and it hasn't assigned an IP address according to status log:

Hm, it was not preset for me. Did you hardreset after flashing?

Awesome ROM! I'm running the version from the 3th of November. I haven't encountered any serious bugs.

small bug:

- There's a small visual problem with the calendar tab in the touchflo3D menu. If you scroll to the calendar tab, the date is printed two times in the menu below were one is slightly moved.

- The performance of the animated background is poor when you choose to use the weather wallpaper. The animation goes a little bit sturdy and if you browse to another tab while the animation is not finished, then this doesn't go very fluently. That's why I disabled the weather wallpaper. I think this is just a little bit too heavy for our beloved Topaz :-)

anyone one have probs with not being able to answer there calls. slide gets stuck half the time when call come in even hardware key always missing most calls. i hav two htc pures both do the same ive tried 4 dif rom vers all do the same also i use them on att network not sure if this is a network prob.
i also have two htc touch pro 2 tmobile and use energy roms on them and have no probs at all..there on tmobile network.if anyone know how to fix this prob i will very thankful:)

I have installed the 3 NOV version and have had a lot of ActiveSync4.5 problems as well.

The suggestion to not set 'ask me' and disabling hi speed USB does seem to resolve it.

The only problem that I now have (besides the ones that I have not found yet) is that the weather for my location is not updated. If I add the city as a separate city, then it does nicely update.
So, it updates ALL cities I have selected, EXCEPT for "My Location".

Which phone canvas does 23504 have? Rhodium or topaz/leo? i.e. does it have slider? As our phones do not have a proximity sensor, rhodium dialer was giving me too much trouble in the last build. My ears were constantly opening up the nitification panel.

78 downloads of the November 3rd edition so far... This is either due to people mirroring too fast, even though I request people dont post mirrors publicaly, or interest in this ROM is just too low.

I already make too many ROMs, so I'm looking to lose some 'deadweight" and this one seems like a good candidate. Any votes to keep it going ?...

Personally I now use the Leo ROM as I like the added functions it provides over this one so I think may fit the bill in reducing your workload.

With regards to the 'mirroring' issue - have you thought about appointing people to moderate the forums and remove mirror link posts to allow your download statistics to be correct?

Alternatively the main concern from people that I can see is that hotfile is a little on the slow side to download from so maybe changing to a faster site like rapidshare might prevent peeps from doing this.

Perhaps more people should donate :)

I flipflop between your leo and photon versions. The photon is the most stable and smooth and i prefer the extended calendar over the shortcuts. Is the total downloads combined between 21864 and 23000 versions? I definatly prefer 21864 version Myself

I think that the 2.1 Sense is now redundant compared to the 2.5.
After you use the 2.5 for a while you really cant go back to the 2.1 although there are a lot of small glitches and bugs in the 2.5 it is the future.
Although I would like to try a mixture of 2.5 Sense and WM6.1 on my Topaz

3. nov release rom 21864 standard has issues when call 2 times phone is turn off and reseting itself and internet connection issues . Hope this is clear flashing now
