Let's fix bricked phone !!!

Hi,
I have a phone and it's bricked. I post this topic to discuss how t fix a bricked phone.

I. Why's your phone bricked ?

1. Update SPL 2005 on a non PVT phone
2. Update SPL 2005 on a phone using old radio (1.0, 1.1)
3. Update old radio (1.0,1.1) on a phone using APL 2005

-> Because of SPL 2005

II. How to fix a bricked phone ?

1. Send it to Tmobile care if you have a Tmobile phone and you live in US
2. Look for other way. What's other way ?

Well, I call to my friend and ask him about that. He has a big Mobile care center in my city. He sad that the flash of G1 and the flash of other HTC WinMo device is the same, and we can use a special machine to get the image of good phone's flash and flash back to bricked phone. He said he can try t, but he said the good phone can be bricked too.

I hope someone have that machine can help us.

yes, bricked phone can be repaired.
By replacing the memory chip, or maybe flashing the image using a special device.
In China, there are a lot of repair shops who can repair bricked G1 by replacing a good chip.

How they repair it?
the repair shop just replace the memory chip with a good one.
they get good chip from other suppliers.

Don't know exactly how the suppliers get the good chip.

One way is they buy broken G1s at low price. their chips was all right, just broken screens or other parts. Then they get the good chips and sell to the repair shop at a higher price.

The other way is, they can reflash the bricked chip with a special device themselves. Or like some people said, they have someone inside the factory who can reflash the chips for them.
