Found this on xda-china thought it'd be nice to share:)

ZTA4 2.8 + msjh.cab

I've uploaded them to megaupload:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U9UM9USX

***This keyboard is for PIN YIN only****
***Also Vibrate as you type****

can display both trad / simp chinese.

cheers for sharing....
did you test it on D2? what software is this? comparing this to CE Star, which is easier to use?

berlinberlin
22nd June 2009, 05:55 AM
Yes I did.

I flashed it to udk's 6.5 rom

Works like a treat.

I prefer this solution over CE star - dont like progs running in the background

but bear in mind that this SIP inc. PinYin ONLY.(as this is the only 1 i use)

but if u need proper hand writing recognition / chang jie etc- you may be better off getting CEStar.

The stock WWE_Asia ROM that came with my TD2 has zta4 built-in, and it's customized for TD2. Is the one you posted copied from the stock rom?

The only custom rom I see that has this is abusalza's X-Treme V2. Maybe there's other roms that has chinese support cooked in which I dunno of?

I've flashed WWE_AsIA rom as well and loved that ZTA4 input.

I believe it's the same
(there are 2 skins included in the package but i have only used 1 - which looks similar to what you've got on the WWE_ASIA rom)

do u mean the msjh.cab is the skin for zta4? there's a latest version of 2.0.6.0 from A4 forums, is the A4 package u posted the same?

nononono sorry i should have made it clearer

msjh.cab - for viewing chinese ONLY
the ZtA4 one - for inputing chinese

The one from A4 forums is not a customised build.
mine is 2.8 (way higher than 2.0.6.0 :-) ) and the one i posted also vibrates on typing.

if you've used WWE_asia rom - that's the keyboard that goes with it

Both in the phone pad.

When I press on the CALL, the phone keypad show, all the chinese word won't show up, as the result, not to mention search for it.

But it is working fine in sending sms and viewing the contact name.
Any ideas?

I got exactly the same problem with shawchyn. Everything could be fine with msjh.cab installed. But when phone keypad activated, chinese characters just show "[]" in stead. I beg a solution, please.

I tried those 2 files in udk's wm6.5 r1, seems like it's not working on manila, only works on wm interface.

EDIT: after a reset on installing a new radio version, words are showing. make a reset between hard and soft?

berlinberlin

well same here

a soft reset pretty much solved it

but the keyboard is still pretty buggy to me so i m back to the default zta 4 2.0

Atomickitten

i do not feel buggy, or i don't use it much. but it seems that it replace full qwerty keyboard with num keyboard in some appz.

I like A4 too, but the newest version of Plum SIP 6.1.00.010 (or whatever, can't say I understand their numbering mentality), is a bit better. It's WVGA also (finally) and has both 9 key and 26 key options, learning, and is nearly as good for English input (when you turn off prediction) as any of our keyboards.

Here's the link over at dayhand.com with comparitive pictures of the older and newer version:
http://www.dayhand.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=6651&extra=page%3D1

HD and D2 users would want #4 (the two part WVGA version). With both A4 and this, I usually end up using this.

Good stuff here, really.

the downside of PlumSIP 6.1 is that it's not customized for Topaz. There is no virtual arrow keys.

Use ricky's (http://www.ricky119.com/chinesesupport) Chinese support for your totally "show up".
Use my attachment here for pinyin dial at phoneKeypad.
They worked in Tom's & udk's Topaz WM6.5 rom.

Actually, it is customized for Topaz, the release header on the WVGA version said "for HTC D2."

It just doesn't have arrows by design. But the built in copy/paste is very useful esp while Manila doesn't support that directly. The built in backup/restore function for user lib is also good for those of us who change ROMs often.

If you guys use MicNeo's D2 Pack Chinese font cab, do you still have the display problems in the dialer?

This version interferes with the standard qwerty keyboard and causes some problems:
-Cannot enter space at some times.
-Get phone keypad even though full is selected.

Thanks dwarts, I'll give the pinyin dial cab a try. :)

I installed msjh.cab from the archieve.zip and it didn't seem to work, I dunno what did I do wrong. Don't really need the input method, just want Chinese characters to show up properly. On the other hand, ricky's Chinese support does work without any problem (ported over the MS Yahei, 11Mb in size)

Try D_ChineseSupportAllinOne (4961 KB) from

It works well in my HTC Hermes under WM6.5.
However, I prefer studio kuma's Chinese "input" (But it doesn't work well in WM6.5)

Hi
I am using the HTC SEA rom.

I intend to flash to TESS ROM but that would mean losing my ZTA4 that comes with the SEA Rom.

I assume yours the same as the one that comes with the stock HTC SEA Rom?
Can it be use in 6.1?

Thanks

I just installed the official HTC 6.5 WWE build and tried to add the KeypadPYPatch to get pinyin support from the dialer as referenced earlier in this thread.

However, it doesn't seem to work -- the error message that I receive is that my system has insufficient permissions to install the file. I had come across the issue a few years ago with the SPV and also with the Tornado, but the fix that I used for those phones (use SDA Unlock) doesn't work with the D2.

Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Thanks!

if you only need to read, you can google for droid.cab for Traditional Chinese. Sorry, I don't have much knowledge about Simplified Chinese, but I thinkI've seem "EVO DROID" somewhere about it. These files were originally designed for Android machines and they are much smaller in size compared to M$ version.

I have already tried this input. Thanks anyways :)

I'd like to point out that this is not the original HTC A4 input, and imho, is pretty crappy. I assume this may just be due the skin? But I remember the ZTA4 that is available for download is much harder to use.

I take it with the IME and font ( don't really care for the font ;) ) that it would have to be cooked in a kitchen?

How would I make an installation package out of one of these?

Update: Ah..I get the confusion now. I installed the official Asia WWE version of the ROM and see that it comes with the ugly ZTA input :) The HK Rom (not WWE but is in English) has a much better Chinese input in my opinion that perfectly fits into the HTC theme. It also has Chinese handwriting support. This is the one I am trying to get.

I have tried and installed several Chinese packages, ZTA4 (good), Samsung (does not work), cestar (registered but does not work), etc. I usually boot twice after installation.

But when I send a SMS message in Chinese, it returns "Unable to send message to xxxxxx. Please try again without a symbol in the text." If I send a SMS message in English, it works.

I have tried both the GTX and the Cookie version. This is with Tmobile.

Any advice? Please help! Thanks.

I found the problem. It is Tmobile! If I put a ATT sim in the phone, there is no problem in sending SMS in Chinese. Only with Tmobile (prepaid). Shame on Tmobile!

Try this if you have EZInput already installed:

it seem like there are two sets of code required in order to display trad chinese font properly.

i am running the Energy Rom latest release.

Case 1 - CE Star
can't read chinese in contact
can read installed program like studio kuma businfo

Case 2 - Tom ChineseSupport
can read chinese in contact
can't read installed program

Input - Q9
CE Star shown "[]"
Tom input correctly

Now, i have both installed, and finally works :D, is there one cab that will have both working perfectly?

How do i fix this?

anyone knows any solution for this ? I assume this works in HD2 too ? thanks !

Confirmed that the above 'solution' DOES NOT WORK, i.e. cannot sned SMS in Chinese. And worse, when I try to uninstalled, it sends my HD2 (Leo) into a coma, stuck in the bootloader. Both for HyperROM v.9.5 and kwbr (Topix) 1.8.3 and 1.8.4. No good for HD2, sorry

I been using ZTA4 for a long time. However, I believe I got the same ZTA4 as this thread from another thread. I was wondering if there is one that includes pinyin+hand writing. If anyone have a cab with that, please share! thanks in advance.

hi,
can zta4 input traditional chinese?

i believe I tested the ZTA and it does not let you type in traditional chinese. I can be wrong though. It's been awhile I have tested it.

So far, I prefer use the CE Start for chinese input but you would have to install one of the chinese font pack.

MY personal favorite would actually have to be the ezinput but that input method will not let e use my tilt 2 keyboard due to different keyboard layout so the numbers and the function key are mmessed up. If anyone has a solution for me to use ezinput with the physical kjeyboard, I would really appreciate.

to view chinese texts, you can just install teh chinese fonts. However, fonts won't let you view the pop up screen's text. You can, however, view web pages, email, calendar, etc. For me that works good enough except when you save a file in Chinese, you can't see the word but you can read teh files names in chinese.

If you want to better chinese support, then install cestar, but I found it to be a bit buggy though.

To type chinese, I find ezinput 2.1 (just do a search on the forum and you will find it) to be the best one.
