are they equal internally and software wise.... or am i missing something more than the case

The Treo Pro has a lot of improvements in software and hardware over the Treo 800w.
The radio support seems to be better, I get better reception than I ever got with my 800w. The software is considerably more stable and doesn't have the same laundry list of problems the 800w had. Simply put the Treo Pro is a considerably better device. Having been made by HTC rather than Palm (like the 800w) it didn't fall victim to a lot of their mistakes they made in the 800w.

No.

Treo Pro = Treo 850. Treo 800w was the short-lived predecessor of the Pro that came after the 7xx series and was only released on Sprint in the US.

so it looks like that wm6.5 aint happening for this phone unless i feel like designing an unlocker and a rom for it lol

Hello everyone; I have a Sprint Treo 800w which, I’ve upgraded from the 755p. I would like to know if there is a WinMo 6.5 build for the 800w out there, yet? I was reading in this thread that “Tim-Tim” might be attempting to do just that. Is that still the case? Thank you.

traxap, you actually read no such thing. tim-tim was talking about the treo pro, and unfortunately there is nothing you will ever see for the Treo 800w. it is not an xda device and therefore you will not find much help here.

Thank you for your response khalaan. Since the 800w will never receive the attention of the 850, would it be possible to buy the 6.5 when it is released and upload/install it on the 800w without major modifications?

Ok so does anyone think the 6.5 rom for the pro will work on the treo 800w?:cool: I know there are a lot of doubters but that is what they saud about the upgrade for the 700wx. Just wondering what you people that test and play all the time might have tried a few tricks.
