why is ELF so slow? :(

I bought a good 7 months old p3450. Everything seems gud in this phone, but it responds too slow for me. I had also used P3400 for sometime, but i miss it now. :( . 3400 was much more faster.

Can anybody tell me, if there are settings to make this phone work more faster.
