Before i proceed.This is just a small post WITH A VERY IMPORTANT AND EXCITING INFORMATION!!!

Hi everyone ,

This thread is for all those who have been waiting for the 3.5mm audio adapters to connect any headphones to their devices!!!!!!

well...these adapters are been sold since a long time ago...but here in Pune I got one for me.

I stay in Pune.I got this simple 3.5mm jack audio connecter for RS 350.;)
shop name : Digital One,opposite Arora Towers,Camp,Pune.

It's an original htc audio adapter with HTC logo on it.:cool:

well..HTC HS U110 (http://images.google.co.in/images?hl=en&q=HTC+HS+U110&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=8hdnSshrh_qQBYvHqPkC&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4) audio adapters are also available now for Rs990 or even less in some places in pune.:p

Anybody do try for HTC YC A 200 multi adapter (http://www.onlyg1.com/oemhtcmuauca.html).Its got a 3.5mm jack with an HTC 11pin mini USB and a 2.5mm jack.

Kindly check for the same in your city where u live.The prices may vary.

well..u can still go the the HTC service center(named RT OUTSOURCING) and ask for it..
the definetly wont have it most of the time BUT STILL ask them for the dealers and suppliers so that u can grab hold of one.I used the same method!!!

My friend from delhi has it on his old gene,its of a chinese make and cost 1.1 k,drivers came with it on a mini-cd.but the shop he bought it from closed down :|

Surfing speed is good and it detected most wi-fi networks,it also came with 256mb built in storage,is anyone else using this kind of SDIO wi-fi or GPS card?let me know

sorry for late reply.actually the thread is shifted from the GENE section.never mind.well,the screen guard(original HTC) will cost u about Rs.500 or Rs.600.it absolutely depends where u stay.the price may vary.i did enquire and confirm RT outsourcing(htc service center in pune) about the price.they told me flat Rs.570.u may visit some of the local dealers for a cheap one.but original or no,i cant garruntee u that.

are u a new gene/old gene user?
is your pda in warranty?

if your pda is in warranty don't worry.this is not a software problem.u need to get your device checked at RT outsourcing(HTC service center).the new office is opened in camp itself.they wont charge u anything.i feel that there maybe some water spilled on the gene circuit.get it cleaned up.
as far as syncing is concerned,try to use opal USB to PC to sync your device as a pen drive.this helps in faster data transfer.

To flash your gene you definitely need active sync.opal's USB to PC wont work here.to flash your gene via SD card read the posts here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400357).

To connect your pda via bluetooth to your PC.read charge1313's post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3879033).

No i dont have warranty period left on my Mobile. I guess i will have to show my gene to a service centre after all...coz as of now i cant connect it to my PC...and there are no proper tutorial for flashing through SD card.
I have already checked the link you provided...though informative it dosent tell us how to unlock (if that is possible) through SD card.
Since this is my first time i dont want to take any chances...and guess will go at it after geting my USB slot repaired.
Will check at RT Outsourcing in Pune.
BTW is this also in Camp??

u'll find everything here for htc gene....batterries and body too....

well i never used this adapter....caz i modded my original hands free speakers with sony walkman series speakers :)
and da sound is awesome !!!

will write a tuturial on how to do it....shortly !

You could be right, just check it once, my Gene also did not get detected when I disabled usb connection from the device (and lost a lot of hair in 2 days :D).

yeah u can dat too......but u'll need to solder da htc connector cable to the sony mic pcb....it wud b much easier if u can get da schematics of both da pcb...or a lil experment will do the work !
i'l have to search my external hard drive for da schematics.

and karan dude its the same thing that u have shown in ur pic..
so i believe its not a cheap stuff now also i have checked my gene with it for headset audio ..

one more thing bro as per my technical knowledge from ur headset no current or voltage is passed back to gene... so its just a matter of jack to be fitted properly in the gene .... which u know very well that if a jack is not similar to proprietary htc jack then u wont get audio....

one more thing bro i am getting the one which do charging and music using htc audio headsets at a same time for 120 ..... i m looking for buying the same.

friends if u can spend 2k then i would say leave all this wired stuff u will get same audio qulaity with nokia's latest stereo bluetooth i tired it and it was awesome...

one more thing bro as per my technical knowledge from ur headset no current or voltage is passed back to gene... so its just a matter of jack to be fitted properly in the gene .... which u know very well that if a jack is not similar to proprietary htc jack then u wont get audio....

one more thing bro i am getting the one which do charging and music using htc audio headsets at a same time for 120 ..... i m looking for buying the same.

friends if u can spend 2k then i would say leave all this wired stuff u will get same audio qulaity with nokia's latest stereo bluetooth i tired it and it was awesome...

try local mobile dealers who get stock in bulk.thats just a suggestion.i cant guarantee u that u'll find an original HTC audio converter. :)

well,there is no such kind of hardware by which it is possible to have gps on gene.our device needs a bigger processor and more ram,plus for gps i think there is(im not sure about it)a chip that needs to be integrated(just like for wifi u need a wifi chip or wifi cards,ask Sumit more to help u on that). :)

For GPS you will need 2 things - first a GPS reciever and a GPS software (which may or may not come with the GPS reciever, for installing in your Gene like TomTom). You can connect the GPS reciever via bluetooth. But I think at that price, you will get a new phone with inbuilt GPS :D.

I´ve recently brought a HTC YC A300 multi adapter (I think it has the same functions as the A200) for my gene.
Well I wanted to connect a standard headphones to my gene (3.5mm) since the HTC headphones that come with my gene sucks :D)
So the problem is that it doesn´t detect the standard headphones (I think its because they doesn´t have built in mic) so to workaround this I have to first plug the original HTC headphones (that have mic/miniusb) into the adapter, then plug the standard headphones and finally unplug the HTC headphones.
Im really happy with the adapter ´cause the audio quality in the 3.5mm jack is great but this problem is annoying.
Is there any workaround this?
Sorry if this was already asked as I´ve searched the forum and didn´t find nothing.

Looks awesome.try connecting it to other HTC devices.Also go to the owner from where u purchased it and try out YAC 200 adapter.if u suffer the same problem,u may have compatibility issues with GENE.Otherwise,i dont think so,there should be any problem.

Karan: I indeed imported the multifunction adapter! But the HTC HS U110 is a way better. Because, the HTC YC A 200 is a way bulky. (the wire is not flexible!) Secondly, if we plug in 3.5 mm earphones which have microphone in them, the microphone doesn't work. Sometimes, even an audio channel is lost! On the other hand, US U110 has microphone and its like any other normal set, doesn't increase bulk!
