Sounds good. I wish I knew how to do this stuff...I'd be hacking it now if I could.

Unless you have a ROM to port, I don't think they can. :P When it hits the web, it'll be ported, no doubt.

I maybe wrong and god knows I been wrong before, BUT

Dont you need the actual phone running Hero in order to port/get the ROM? And since it wont be "officaly" released till July 15th in the UK ONLY..... Unless your in the circle of people that have access to such things without the phone (haykuro).

The ROM doesnt need to be re-ported so to speak (most of the work H already has done)...We just need a system dump and were off!..and yes we need someone who has access to the device.

Please don't start a new thread in dev subforum until you actually have development to show.

Sense UI is probably Rosie 2.0 but maybe HTC renamed it

Sense UI is Rosie, thats what HTC has always called it, but to the public it is known as "Rosie".

I saw some of the videos online and saw that they had it running pretty smooth on the Hero. Looking at the specs, the Hero has more ROM and RAM than the G1, do you guys think it'll run as smoothly on our Dreams as it did on the Hero, or do you guys think it'll be slightly less choppy than the Rosie we have now?

it will most likely run better because alot of stuff that is missing from the one we have now will be in there

HTC CEO reportedly confirms Sense UI coming to current Android handsets

Sure, current Android handset owners, it’s understandable that you’re looking at HTC’s new Hero handset with a bit of jealousy. The new Sense UI alone is reason enough to be envious of course, as HTC has seemingly done for Android what it has done previously for Windows Mobile — added a UI layer that boosts sex appeal by about a million times. Don’t fret though… It looks like at least some of you will be getting some Sense UI love in the near future. HTC CEO Peter Chou is reportedly quoted as stating, “HTC sense will be available on some other existing devices.” That little snippet can be interpreted a variety of ways of course, but suffice it to say that the Dream/G1 or the Magic/myTouch 3G (or even both) are destined for updates that include the new Sense UI. As for what carrier versions will be privy to said update, your guess is as good as ours for the time being. Keep those fingers crossed, T-Mobile subscriber

Exactly, JAChero bv1.4 is a greaat start to replace the orginal g1 builds. so in other words wait for someone to create the foundation thats flawless (no bugs) then add the cool stuff later.

i agree, jac v4 is insane, almost no lag with swapper app, i mean its really no different than original android on g1 speedwise. But it will be nice if we're able to just dl an update without having to use swapper and apps2sd as well other little personal tweaks ie optimization scripts; a nice clean official version will definitely be awesome
