you can try, but im sure someone will tell you that you need specific libraries to run that widget... which means you may also want to get the music app from hero so they can coexist together on cupcake.

the end result may be that it wont work, or that this was covered that it wont work already... i personally dont know, but from my understanding probably not

ALSO just looked at this:
im on the hero build now, by JAC.
I can go back and forth between the rosie launcher and the (original) launcher
but when i go back and forth my widgets are still limited to those available to be used and displayed on the (original) launcher. Those are your regular cupcake widgets (or Google widgets as they have been dubbed in Hero)
Yet on Hero, using the Rosie Launcher I am able to use not only Google Widgets but also Hero widgets..

so without extra modifications, which may end being so extensive that you'd have Hero, gotta go with no

This is been said in regards to other parts of Hero as well.

Basically by the time you pull in all the required framework and libraries, you're basically running Hero, so there's not much point.

It is tough after tasting Hero to go back to cupcake. I tried the JAC build too, but of course, the minor problems add up and force quit just start coming back. Plus it's a little slow.

I feel your pain, I want the music player and that calendar widget. Oh, how I want all of those widgets. I really hope that one of the Hero builds gets there for us G1 owners, and at this rate they really could pull it off.
