.net compact framework issue

Dear Guys,
I'm using a Tytn II. I have got a problem with the microsoft .net compact framework. Many times when I install a new software, it gives an error message as 'this application requires a newer version of the microsoft .net compact network framework than the version installed on this device'.

I have tried to install the latest 'framework' from microsoft site but the phone gives error message as 'the version installed on this mobile is newer than the one you are trying to install'

Any help is very much appreciated!

Just to be sure, you are trying to install the 3.5 framework not the 2.0 one?
