Windows device diver error.

Hi i got this message when i plugged my HTC Polaris in to my Windows Vista computer. :confused:


Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered error while attempting to install it.


Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter

The syntax of the INF is Invalid



Any one know how to fix this problem :cool:

I take it you have the windows mobile device centre app installed on your PC?

Also on your phone, go to start>settings>connections tab>USB to PC>
and uncheck the faster USB or Advanced USB checkbox directly under the Activesync option and above the disc drive option

Sorry to be vague, don't have my unit near me at the moment to check but you'll get the point

I unchecked the box and now i get the window.

Now i went in to Sync Center and clicked my mobile.
It took an eternity to get up the Windows Mobile Devise Center screen. Then I clicked on view my files and got this error
