SMS sound notification not working

I am having a problem where I am not getting alerts when I get a new text message. I have done a hard reset, gone into my sound and notifications settings and checked all that needs to be checked. Any help here would be greatly appreciated, this is driving me crazy.

SOLVED - I performed this hack (http://www.wmexperts.com/tip-delete-outlook-email-messages#comment-29928) last week and apparently it disables the SMS notifications. I just restored my registry and all is well.
