My Hermes 6.5 ROMS

For "Noobs" Before you try to upgrade every ROM folow this steps:

*Perform first the HardSPL HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37669&d=1177280888) (if you already did the HSPL, you will never do it again)
*Upgrade any of this Striped ROMs (Highly Needed)
Option1.-MF ESN stripped WM6 Stock (http://www.mediafire.com/?mizw55mmjgm)
Option2.-MF WWE AT&T stripped WM6 Stock (http://www.mediafire.com/?t0jdmwz1lwi) or Mirror RS (http://rapidshare.com/files/391140606/stripedAt_t.zip)
*Then upgrade my rom

BUGS:
*The taskbar list magnified cant shows the time, it shows batt settings (core issue)
*If the Button images at softkeybar shows distorted or big set the Mirion Theme and do a softreset
*If the Start Menu cant be launched by the windows flag at bottom bar... press twice the Ok Hardware button at left side of the device.
*Some Titanium plugins shows distorted images (core issue)[Tested WM7 Project works fine but weather tab needs the weather server fix]
*Background shows a lil right aligment and the Lock screen has the notifications icon in bottom (Fix attached at the end + Magnifier setup)

If you have another problem ask please maybe i can fix it... but if your problem are these bugs... you know we cant do anything.

I wil change on every build the bronzeres and some more things...

Any advice? and of course, suggestions and bug reports are welcome cause i will learn more and more about this. I almost have the 21812, but I cant imagine on new Bronzeres design... :rolleyes:

Hi Que PPC,

Great ROM. Using it for 24 hours now. Seems stable. Good battery life:)

Found two minor bugs. Scrolling through call history rsults in badly readable lines.
Bluetooth won't connect (or even see) my carkit. However it sees my laptop and a bluetooth adaptor on my PC.

Keep up the good work.

Well Van-dam yes the call history scrolling sucks in phone canbvas we all think that it cant be fixed cause Its a HTC apps and this builds comes from Micr0shoft, we all need to wait for the official release to get a full driver and compatibilittie features.

Hey I just flashed this rom but I Cant find the traditional "MMS Configuration" area so that I can put in my T-Mobile setting... Is there some kinda trick? Also after a while the rom freezes at the boot loader screen and then I have to soft reset. When I do it will load again but I get about 15 error messages that "so and so" file couldnt load... Whats up? Something I might be doing wrong? I have hard SPL 2.10 Olipro on a Herm200...

why are you on bootloader screen? this screen is only needed when the device cant boots and you need to reflash...

So i think, you would say...
The ROM freezes after a softreset... maybe on the windows animation?!

If this is the case: just perform againa softreset... you cant lost data by softreset... but I think as you say that the rom Begins again with the Softreset seems that you dont flash the stripped first...

The certificates error not exist on this build, i think you got the error untrusted certificated aplication or missing components...

Please... Retry the upgrade first the Original att! then let it boots completely ( to be sure Hard reset it again...) then let it boots completley gain... then upgrade mine...

Tell me if this works for you.

I will change it to Olipro (HSPL), Boog321 (useful shortcuts to HSPL)

The difference betwen both builds and every build in this betas are the improvement speed, and it becomes more stable, but nothing that I didnt saw in apps or images I think.

The honey comb is super fast and the titanium too! is really smooth! but because it is a full ROM the ram is not so good... so the next one will be a Ultra Vanilla more RAM more Storage, No titanium and no Start menu grid... I must to read so much! and learn a lot from high ligues!

I use dcibattery even if it is not graphiocal cute cause i change the task bar batt to clock always cause sometimes i use the titanium and forget to back on clock page again jejeje.

I put so much work on the images but as utak3r say it tooks more ram, for the next build i will make a ultra vanilla maybe i will delet so much ui from the build as much as i can.

try to flashed this rom in my dopod 838 pro yesterday evening. though installing the rom is successful but it cannot open the text in the main.

when after a soft reset, it started to freeze in in the start up..

have to do a hard reset tonight already

Thank you for the reply and info. actually before flashing your rom, i had flash other developer's rom and at that time, i had installed hardspl and at&t wm6 stripped.

then i up to the rom.

i am not sure if i still need to install hardspl and at&t wm6 stripped again anot. so i just install your rom and i got hanged at start up. :)

anyway, i had already reflashed my hermes using SD card method and is back to life again.

No I don't have the defaultr dialer cab. I myself is searching for a good one(with smart dialing capabilities) . The one similar to TAI's V22 & V23 roms.

Well Mysta! the X Button doesnt matters to much cause it has no more improvements to reconsiderate... you see.... if the version of an app is old but works...! i will use it... keep in mind that this version dont has troubles without any other app.

Well you dont need to perform again the Hardspl anymore cause it is forever but... the stripped ATT rom is always a suggestion... cause many issues becomes if you dont flshat that rom before whatever custom rom...

Many people say so... it dont boot... i dont know why really. hope my next release boots for you.

Just one minor point - the 'brushed aluminium' theme on the Today screen, and the light colour of the default font, makes the text very difficult to read. You can see that on your own screen shot.

Is their any way of darkening the on-screen text on the Today screen?

Its truth i didnt say nothing about that! i forget it completely!!! jajaj sorry its because of the kill for the strat word so once you use for the first time the quick menu or at first softreset it never shows again... there is a cab that has the file delayedexec.exe but i didnt add it cause it creates itself on firs run as i said

Thanks for the response, + Que PPC. I have managed to work around it now.

On the Sytem - Today page, I chose a picture to use as a background. Then I deselected that picture. The Today page then reverted to the proper Classic Blue theme, rather than the special 'brushed aluminium' one. The text, although still blue, is much easier to read now.

The utility... theme manager (not the microsoft's) do the trick
but i need to see if it change some more things cause at this time there is no app to WM6.5 themes... or maybe i can found the reg to change the color font for today. and the color in web string code HEX!

I've installed it 4 times now and each time I get about 2 reboots then it locks up and I have to hard reset and reflash.
The first 2 times I was trying to turn on TouchFlo so I didnt this last time and it still locked up after installing Office.

I will reflash that striped rom then try to reinstall this one and see how it goes but after 5 flashes I'm just about to give up on it.

Also, can you make a version with more ram. I keep getting "out of ram" errors. This is why I'm looking for a new rom in the first place.
I would like the honecomb to still be there but less HDD space and more memory as I run everything from Storage Card anyway.

Oh, and BTW I've seen a few other WM6.5 ROMs and I like this one the best. :) Good job.

that's exactly what you have to do.... flash original rom with an extrom included, perform a hardreset, then flash this rom and perform a hard reset.

OK, so I installed the first rom, reflashed this rom, hard reset and it was all good till I tried to use the windows update. It refused to update as it says it cant connect then it locked up so I pressed the reset button for a soft reset but it hard reset itself so I have to set it up AGAIN!.
This is the last time. I'm getting fed up with setting it up all day. Lucky I dont have anything on today as I've been doing this since I woke up. Bloody thing!

Where can I get the CAB of Office with onenote and the diamond version of opera browser?
They are the only 2 I dont have then I install via DU.

Yep. I did all that and still it either locks up at the white Windows screen on boot up or it did like the last time and just hard reset itself.

I went and installed another ROM and have no problems with it but its missing all the new features I like with this ROM.

Just if I can find a stable ROM with all the cool features. I might have to look into making my own.

Installed the ultralite without any problems.

It's a fast rom and good base for customization.

I've installed spb mobile shell 3, s2u2 2.04, sktools and bla bla bla...into the hermes main memory and so far it's rock steady.

Let's see how the rom behaves in a couple more days.

Many people has 2.10 HSPL and has issues, why? i dont know!!!!!....

If you use the default plug ins today.... change the background image....

in oem or in cab is the same change the skin to a touch phone dialer and allows you to search easily trough contacts... in phone screen

Check both version one for 2g Smartdial and v2 for 3g dialer videocall...

well you cant install both cabs cause is the same app but with diferent dlls... so it overwrites another.

Where can I get that COM Manager? the one I'm using does not have an active Data toggle, and I HATE having to open another program to get data to connect for a program that doesn't auto connect.

Hey I am using your Version B3 ( Bare Bones) ROM . It simply rocks. This will be the best WM6.5 ROM i have used till date. Grs8 work buddy.

One minor issue. If you can disable the sound in dialer it increase the perform of the same. I sure you can fix this ....;)

BTW.. When are we going to have the latest 21925 build based ROM.

Well the new version 21925 is a little weak, non all the apps got a good performance... dunno why this builds are buggy i tried last night to make it with spbmobile shell and it doesnt work... maybe i just can let you DL it as addon and delete the titanium for y'all im working hard to do all the icons...! but cause im not an expert in Photoshop it tooks me some minutes to make an icon... hope this week end i will got the beta and pm you to beats test, would you like to be a betatester?

I didnt use data conection... well the data conection button just shuts off the 3g, edge or GPRS conection but if you want to enable that services just... perform a task that needs that services.. the 3G button works fine.

Wich version v1 or v2?
With V2 i dont have this issue.... but you can go to start\conections\usb to pc\and disable the square checkbox... for advanced conection or something like that, reconect.

Maybe i will add it but i need to study it very well cause it has batt drain! the developers xplain the usage and set not so fine so i will try to talk to twopumpchump and see how he did it... maybe next releases will come with two version!

extendir normal titanium and not extendir MS3.

Im testing the MS3 with 6 PP and the IExplorer close automatcaly because of memory drain by MS3. sad so sad once i use my Ultravanilla and have two or three apps workin at same time i becomes an addict of the RAM...

So much SAD but nicely rom.

I'm liking this ROM so far, I've made it look exactly like my older WM6 ROM, only its faster and a lot more stable, so far I've gone for 2 days without a reboot and Oxios always recovers at least 22MB of RAM always which is always good. The only downside is the lack of the smart dialer with 3G :( Hopefully this will be implemented soon.

I install first the smart dial... then the 3gPhonecanbas.. it gives me an error then... SR then retry same error then SR then installing 3g and everything works fine...

i dunno if coocking it inside could be a problem so i will let you all to install this byyourself... i will add to the addon post this Mystamagoo of course if you dont mind?

Maybe some people are interested on try it by themselves cause i didnt use video call neither smartdialing.

The task list icon (on the right of the battery icon) disappeared after I played around with some settings on Quick Menu, but I'm unable to bring it back even after reverting back to the original settings in Quick Menu.

I downloaded and flashed B1 to my 8525, and absolutely love it. I do have a problem though that I hope you can address, or maybe send me in the correct direction. I've set all the options for the titanium weather plugin, however every time it tries to update I get a "Connection Timeout!". anyway to resolve this? I know I'm connected to the net because I open opera first and check google before trying to update.

Hi + Que PPC, I have some time using your Hidden Frog ROM, it's been working pretty fine for me, minus the low Ram available. I really like Titanium and the Honeycomb stuff so was trying to play a little with the PagePool changer.

But, when I try to use om-by's tool with said ROM I get an error: "Nothing found. Invalid, unknown or encrypted ROM. Select another file."

Please let me know if there is anything that can be done regarding this.

PP is high thats why is faster!!! but low memory, if your try to run the IE it works flawlesly!! because of the PP high...

i have read that some cabs cant be transformed correctly into EXT or OEM by many apps... i dislike to crack the app just for cooked inside... but the rom runs ultrafast and stable enough with memory at 22mb Ram and almost 35Storage

you can check this way if a cab is well converted into ext or OEM get "cabmanager" and open your cab... you will se many files or shortcuts... then tramsform your cab with "cab converter" into EXT or OEm it will gives you two files and a files folder for the cab see inside the folder "files" if all the files you saw in the cab are there its nice if not the cab cant be converted... but maybe it can be done Manually.. there are some tutos for make oems mannually By -G-.

I dont have enough time to make it but it could be nice.

Very nice ROM!

Only 3 things I can pick that need attention:

1. Battery went from 80% to 20% overnight - ouch!
2. Top battery, wifi etc icons are really low res
3. SBP theme colour change doesn't work

Except for the above, this ROM is unique and fun! :D

I can't believe how fast it is.
I've got a few feature requests which might just be a few cabs I need to install.

First of all I had been using the htc home plugin and one of the features was a scheduled phone volume. So everytime i had an appointment the phone would automatically switch to silent mode. Is there a way to do this without running the htc plugin?

Secondly my previous os had a feature in the comm manager to switch off 3g which was great because I belive it helped with the battery life and I could jsut switch it on when i needed it. Is there a way to do that or a different comm manager I can install? I'm not sure where to get the cabs for that sort of thing.

Can't click on battery,top right,to get battery level status.

Volume still on full at start.

import of provxml with adv conf still comes with errors but I think that is still a build problem and not a cooking problem.

To solve this problem, run Advanced Config under Tools, in the menu look for Comm Manager, tick off one of the options that you don't need and tick 3G, presto...

BTW I never thought that this Rom could work so well having MS3 installed. Great job from +Que PPC...

Ahhh, thanks for that.

I just installed Bandswitch to do it.. but thats exactly what I wanted!
I'm also now using PhoneWeaver to shedule my volumes during appointments. It works well, but at the moment it seems like once the appointment is over it won't switch back to the previous mode.. Can't find an option to do it either. I migth have to get onto the PhoneWeaver crew about that.

Edit: I think it might switch it back after the apointment. It just isn't instant, most likely to save cpu cycles. It's working really well, you can do lots of stuff like turn on 3g or wireless at certain times.

I have saw some new builds to play with new 23016 and 21935... in xbeta saw that the build 21932 has zomming tweak but we all knows that this builds sucks! eventho many people say that the best was 21921 (I couldnt make it boots) but 21928 is more stable and with some improvements lets see how works the 23016 and 21935... Oh BTW the proyect for Hybrid monster was cancelled.

I felt tired... maybe i spend so much time at night and pass over the bed time... so i will rest these days... well... not so this saturday cause the monday is my birthday!!! WOO HOO!!! :p and the weekend going to be on party.

Happy Birthday when it comes +Que! I've just loaded your "MS3" ROM and all I can say is 'Brilliant'! This has to be overall the best ROM I've put on my Hermes in 3 years of ROM flashing! Of course this is my subjective opinion based on how I like to use my device but even just getting rid of the honeycomb and using QuickMenu instead is cause for celebration.

I would have liked a touch more device Storage space (I normally install Office and Coreplayer on storage card) but still there is a good amount of RAM on first boot and this to me is the most important thing.

I don't use S2U but I am sure some people use it and like that addition

deleting the honey comb is a high gain of ram amount for programs to use this way you can listen to your music... and receive or send a Message without stops the music... ;)

The usage of the quick menu likes me so much cause it only tooks 1 mb of memory and is fast to get waht you want.

Nice top heard the rom fits to your likes...

If all wm6.5 have memory leaks then you have truly outdone yourself. I can run the phone for days and the memory used does not increase like it does in several other ROMs out there.

B4 is a nice ROM but i am tempted to try B3 with MS3 just because I do not like a lot of apps cooked in. (I will never use M$ Live, for example.) I prefer to keep nearly of my apps on my memory card, and I keep a copy of my start menu on the card as well. This way, when I flash a ROM, I only need to copy the shortcuts and almost everything is really to go (some apps have to be installed every single time).

The only things that I did/do not like with B4 is the first boot when the config process seemed buggy, although it did finish and everything seems to work, and I do not seem to be able to turn off 3g.

I like the speed, having ~19MBs of program memory to start with, NOT 1 single crash with this ROM yet (5 days and counting) and the apps which are in the ROM, that I do not use, are not in my face.

It is a great ROM and I am looking forward to seeing what new tricks you pull off next.

Are there reasons why you do not use big storage?

well the B4 has MS3 and cause its an original app i set it at first Customization to get a fully working Ms3 and fast... thats why the Customization takes longer to finish, then the 3g button to shut if off is in commanager get it changing the buttons in advanced config please.

I use LZX compression big storage is just for wm6.1 dude... ;)
the MS3 tooks so much space thats why it has less memory than others...

The Hybrid Monster has drag and drop enhacement in start menu and slide panels for some settings it has the newest builds, i will change some icons in start menu HD icons, no app name and change the Bronzeres again maybe the theme too...

It only shows the 23016 cause the 21935 runs inside the core! ;)

I'm looking forward to trying the hybrid - I just tried going from B2 to B4, and discovered that I can't stand the MS3 interface - oh well, it was worth a try. My one major suggestion is please, please get rid of the *&%^# splash screen with the sound effect attached - it's been annoying me since I installed B2. Also, I dislike s2u2 being on by default, as it keeps locking my phone as I try to do the initial setup.

The Startup animation is a known siggy of my roms so if you dislike it... just drop my roms to the hell!

My problem isn't that it locks - I knew that, but that S2U2 keeps locking the phone as I'm trying to change the settings, because it's on by default, and the default power settings turn off the screen after a short period of time, so it keeps locking before I can get to the setting to change it to not lock. I suggest tweaking your default power settings a little to avoid this.

QUE very nice work on this MS3 ROM. I'm really condidering purchasing the ROM. I had a hard time getting BJIVE to work but used the fix in the forums and I finally got it working after a couple of tries.

However there is still one more issue with the latest SkyFire Browser (my favorite browser). After I installed it on MS3 23008 it keeps quiting without an error message while its trying to connect. I got it to work on your Que ROM B1 WM6.5 21807 and it works fine. Any clue what the differences are in those two ROMS which would cause SkyFire to work in one and not the other?

After helping me fix this issue I'm definately purchasing it.

New version of skyfire craps cause it eats too much memory... they makes the zooming smooth... the graphics even better and the speed is amazing but it needs more memory... so the diferences betwen that roms are... the Page pool that roms has a big pagepool!!! to allow an applications ates all the memory it want... so I decide to reduce the PP to not have variations or memory loss, so i recomend you to use the .9X version not the 1.0 or newer... lemme search for it and i will upload it... btw maybe you can help your new skyfire by exiting the MS3 then when you finish with the skyfire renable the plug in...

I did my best to try and get SkyFire 1.02x (Latest) version to work. I exited The MS3 and removed everything exept your Fix1. Still no joy with SkyFire 1.02x. I know for sure 1.01x and before would work. But I can't find that version. I will re-flash the ROM to try your download with the full ROM. I will let you know...Thanks!

I have No GSM troubles at start up... and its hard to upgrade a rom... wichever!

SPL1.40Olip
Radio 1.40.30

I need almost 10 softresets to boot when it shows Radio and protocol...
I red many posts about the SOD and change the band to gsm not auto... and it has the issue! somepeople confirms that this can be solved by changing the cprog and some oher dll but... does antbody has that apps?

This is annoying... sorry is the frustration. :(

I change the SPL to 2.10 and the radio and i dont have issues at lest in a half of the day.

With my last 6.5 kernel and lzx compression it cant works... so it only can be resized by the cooking process... and i think you need to enlarge the PP not to reduce it... i will make you a special rom with 8PP just to test the Skyfire... BTW how is the beta testing process? pm me with the answer please.

I see the new build it has zooming!!!!! double tap wherever in the screen and it zooms a part! but its so buggy... lets wait for next build... really looks nice! Oh btw they change the OK button to the bottom left..! Thanks GOD!!!

actually I like the new looks. but I don't how usable the start menu will be without the program names. I mean, come on, I cannot memorize all those icons.

I've just installed S93_V42-HTC_Home23009 (I did do the official_ATT_WM6_striped first)....It's very impressive...just the one thing...no keyboard on the phone....

I liked your titanium weather in your B1 ROM better...when you click the days it gives you the weather comment for that day and the weather for different portions of the day (Morning, Afternoon, Evening).

The MSN weather widget does not work..."Error opening shortcut or loacating the target filename."

After restoring a back-up the applications hangs at the end for about a minute. I try to click exit, start, press stop and it's just frozen at that screen for about a minute. After a minute it starts to respond again.

Dude, I installed it, even added title names.

ROM=too 'teenish' for my taste.

I didn't even bother to see what worked and what didn't.

mmmm well, the important of the rom is... the hybrid enhacements, maybe the teenish UI can be modded to which ever titamium theme the background can be changed too... tanks for the info.

Y ask about the weather cause the icons in beta test shows as red circles... then i need to know if the names shows and if the with active icon is right corrected cause in some tests i made it shows a little to left side. BTW does the first memory icon shows good? i see there a sun hot! hahaha

Minor issues if you change the titanium theme :p

Hope the rom is stable enough to handle the skyfire, the coreplayer and the sms...

changing the theme is just like... download any other and install it

maybe the spbmobileshell eats too much memory thats why it fails...

disabling default today makes the sytem crash?
Interesant but why to disable it... if you need to disable it... i recomend you the barebones...

Well, to change themes they recommend disabling windwos default first...I noticed you posted that you had to reboot your hermes alot...im noticing I started to rebooting alot after flashing your B5...have you tried other cooks ROMs not based on your build to see if that fixes your having to reboot all the time?

Well yeah but i can make some efforts to not do the same ugly GUI just tell me what do you all dislike about it.

A simple "i dislike it" dont works...... it cant tells me nothing to get it better or change something... think about it.

- how can i edit the item shown in today screen ? (i dont want weather, IE, etc...)
- on others roms the network assistant automaticly launchs after first reset, this one, did't happen. Should it appen? where can i find the assistant?

To edit the Titanium plugins (Today items) you need to launch the titanium customizer.. there is in a folder of the start menu... or download a titanium customizer and install it.

Network asistant? what you mean? the network asistant it launchs at the begining... you can launch it again from settings conections network wizard or something like that.

Just letting you know, I am skipping "Hybrid Monster" but looking forward to "MIRION."

"Hybrid Monster" doesn't appeal to me because of the Images and the need of a fix for the Icon Titles. I will say this though, I hope none of the comments in this thread (including mine) convince you to stop trying to be different. While not every ROM is right for everybody your ROMs continue to stand out. Keep on going, keep up the great work!

Thats for the comments, and yes... the images rom is full of new images... ;) thats why i like it... after the MS3 and the Barebones... i dedicate on a new images but seems that isnt nice to the eyes... so Mirion will be release as soon as the new core is stable enough! it will be nice... at sight !PROMISE! :)

Gotta say Que- love your roms. I was a big fan of Josh's for a long time, but the bug got me and I tried yours...... hooked. I am on the B4 v1, and it is fairly stable. I have had a few complaints, but this is the first time I have tried SPB home.... and I LOVE it. It is the perfect compliment to your rom for me, and it is much easier for me than titanium. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
I will be waiting in anticipation of a stripped rom (if you ever decide to come out with another) not containing titanium or honeycomb, but with the menu type the same as the b4 v1. lots more memory and those of us who liked spb home could then use it.

I do not understand. When I tried your B4 ROM MS3 stated it was a trial version with only so many days of use or full functionality, or something like that. It did not appear like a serial number or registration code was burned into the ROM.

Why would trial software count as warez?

I am curious because I downloaded your kitchen, after looking at the screenshots for B6 (looks nice). If I decide to build and release a ROM I would want to know the limits on using trial software.

Yes it shows 23001 cause the build of Hidden frog was 23001 i just made some changes and delte some stuff add another... its a reloas not a build change.

Yeah the B4 with MS3 was a HIT! but unfortunatly was banned... im thinking on what to use now... :rolleyes:
