upgrade windows mobile 6 remove sim lock

Hello all,

Newbie here. Just got an orange simlocked touch dual. It is on win mobile 6 pro. If I upgrade it to win mobile 6.1 or higher will it remove the simlock or will I still have to do the super CID thing?

No, you'll have to remove the sim lock manually (see the sticky threads)

I have done the cid unlock thing and all went well. I was wanting to update windows 6 to a newer version. Microsoft site says 6.1 is latest version and I cann't download from HTC site as my s/n won't let me.

Can i get a newer version from somewhere gratis? what is the best version? What is the 6.5 version if ms site only claims 6.1?
