Great work getting this ROM running on our MPx200!!!!

Sofar only thing that I noticed doesn't work, is the "send" button for SMS. Using the first option for the menu does the job just fine as "work around".

I tried installing OmapClock as we had running on WM5, 6 and 6.1 to improve speed. I can't seem to get it running "can't map I/O error". Anyone else tried??

Another thing: any ideas how to improve availlable program memory?? I used to be able to run TomTom (without GPS), now it runs out of memory and crashes.

The reg points to
"LogoPath"="\\windows\\efsane.bmp" which is not included in that ROM.

(This ROM is a rebuild from CHN-ROM with REG base from efsane.)

It depends on what you want.

A) WM2003 SuperMoto
-if you want a fast and responsible MPx200 and don't have a problem old school style. But newer .NET programs will not work...

B) WM6.1 FAST EN
-Fresh style and working but not really as responsible as SuperMoto.

C) WM6.5 Beta
-Only beta, not for daily use.

hi SGH-I200. yes the first time after flashing ringtone is normal but if we change something in profile; it'll change to silent with the silent icon in stanby screen; but if we master reset hive ringtone is normal again

In my case the "Script" key was empty. I changed the value like above (for vibrate), added "Script-OemRingtoneGap" key- and it worked. (see reg file in zip)

It seems the key "Script-OemRingtoneGap" must be in that folder to make the ringtone working. If you don't want a pause in the ringtone loop simple set "Script-OemRingtoneGap"="".

After changing to another mode the value of "Script" is changed like normal - and all modes work! :-)

if you use beta 2.52 or higher you can 'copy' reg to directly to registry

I is not that hard to do! If you have same time you can cook one EN version yourself! Kitchen here. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4491091&postcount=1)

You can even add the language files (all 0409 from SYS) to the Windows folder on SD-Card. Then add a REG entry for 0409 in available MUI and choose it in settings and restart.

This way I have EN menus but a lot RUS stuff left...

Thanx for your reply, In the mean time I used your kitchen link and the chinese/english_v2 for the mui files, which works fine.

Of course I did a reg hive and format storage, I've been around from the 1st wm2003 hacks :D

My device just doesn't do the 168 Mhz. As a test I flashed a 156 Mhz of the Se7en Neon rom, which worked fine. That rom looks very nice! but doesn't open tmail for some strange reason.

So if you make a 156 Mhz version, I will be happy to test it for you.

So, I downloaded the WM6.5 rus for MPx200 by AND in 156 Mhz, flashed it, copied the 0409 files to it, added English in the register, and AGAIN messaging (tmail.exe) is NOT working!

When I set the language back to russian, it works!

Anyone knows a solution for that?

I cooked the one with 168 MHz.

You can use the MUI files from any other build! I copied that from my other EN version that you can find

Did you do an hardreset (blue button + power on, SD card must be in phone, reg hive and format storage) after flashing?

If not that might be the problem (files from other build on SD-Card)...

I'm getting constant troubles as well, got this phone from my dad, so I tought let's give it a try to go to 6.0/6.1/6.5 (whatever works best).

But every ROM I trie, does install (use the Moto 1.2 updater). But I just can't do anything afterwards (have a FAT formatted 256mb SD card in the phone and I remove batterij, wait 2 min and then try to do hard reset). But the screen just keeps on beeing black :(:confused:

Am I doing something wrong? Am I forgetting something? I would really like to know, because this seems a really great phone with 6.x running on it. (I like having more phones than I need to :p).

Wierd thing is that I already tried several ROM's. All the same problem. Shall try the 144 once more.

BTW, if one doesn't work, is it mandatory to flash back to 2002 again or can you just immediately install the new (for example) 6.1 ROM?

I just found that nice editor!

Now it is easy to change the language from the RUS ROM to ENGLISH! :-)

Just use the kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4692700&postcount=31) to Dump the ROM and edit user.hv and default.hv as you like and insert the mui files.

To get all progs (like sms messaging) running you need to add the language entries for that lang in the REG like I did with the external display info (see picture)...

-Settings: rootgsm.cpl.xml cannot be loaded (I'll try the xml file, will report here)
-sms doesn't start
-activesync doesn't work

After flashing the phone will reboot automatically! Don't take out the battery at this stage!!!


You can disconnect the phone from PC if you like to but it is not necessary...

If it hangs at reboot wait for 10min before taking out battery, then back in and do a hard reset.

Please read GUIDE on how to flash MPx200 (http://6600-mpx200.com/forum/index.php?topic=1370.0) first!!!

Maybe try another SD-Card as well...

You can cook a 156Mhz version yourself! It's not that hard to do! ;)

You have to tweak the existing hv Files with an registry Editor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5708276&postcount=93) to get another lang into the ROM. Not much Fun...

It is a russian WM6.1 edition but you should be able to change the lang packages very easy.

If you don't have a lot of free time than don't start cooking - it takes a lot of time to learn all the stuff for MPx200. With SYS/OEM-Folder-Kitchen it is easier but still you have to learn a lot. You will find all answers through search here at xda!

The "Eye-fi card" don't bring active WLAN to your device! It only connects itself to the WLAN and uploads the pictures you made with your DigiCam (MPx200 don't has one). It can`t be used to surf the web...

all of them. i think this is a hardware problem. i've read somewhere that this phone is prone to this problem back when this phone is new in the market. so i guess im stuck with no key lights.

hi to all,
i tried all the roms on mpx200 but have too many problems....
the surious problem it that drops the calls.
it has problem with the ring tones
i tried the russian version and works all ok execpt the menu\settings

So plz try to fix the rom because its so fast and cool but hope to be all ok.
anybody want to test there rom i can test it for him i have mpx200 and still alive working fine.

edit: the left lower button labelled "send" is inactive. But the right lower button is labelled: "Menue", first entry shows: "□□", which is active and actually sending the SMS / Text.
I changed to the German layout and didn't install any localization. I would need that? Because 99% of the entries are in German already.
