HELP

I am admittedly a newb. Having 2 problems flashing certain ROMs only

1. cmd.exe box opens in MSDOS but is empty

2. bootloader opens OK


BOTH instances end up with a "CONNECTION ERROR" and don't run

my bootloader screen shows:

HERM100
IPL-1.04

HERM100
SPL-1.40 Olipro


do I need a different SPL?

any help much appreciated

It is strongly recommended that you flash HardSPL7 (2.10 Olipro) from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722, later you can flash any cooked ROM avoiding lots of problems. I suggest you to use the SD card method, both for HardSPL and ROMs, instead of RUU as you could avoid many connection issues like these you are having.

This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295735 has a very good discussion about SD card method for flashing ROMs and the procedure its exactly the same for HardSPL flashing.

thank you both for your input. will try force SPL first (was unable to install HARD SPL 7). if not will try SD method.
