Hello. I have a LG KS20 running Windows Mobile 6.1. I used Opera Mobile 9.5 for quite a long time and I didn't have any issues with it. Today I upgraded to Opera Mobile 9.7b1 and as soon as it started up, I spotted a problem. The address bar was hiding behind some kind of a rectangle with gradient colour, which makes it impossible to type in URLs (as you can see from the video). I use the standard MS on-screen keyboard, but instead of it I can see a black rectangle on the bottom of the page. I cannot describe those problems in words, so I uploaded a video in YouTube

I tried uninstalling Opera Mobile 9.7, restarting the device and making a clean install but it didn't help. I'm just getting disappointed. Can you help me? Or I just have to downgrade to Opera Mobile 9.5 :(
(I asked that on the official Opera Mobile forum but they didn't answer, but I think someone better from here could be able to help me)

I have exactly the same problem. I liked the 9.5 so much that I really wanted to install the 9.7. Unfortunately: Does not work :-(

What brand and model is your mobile? Is it also LG KS20?

Install the NeoS2007_Driver_Pack_Beta_1.cab and Opera 9.7 will work without any problems on you LG KS20. ;)
You can download the drivers here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496528
Warning! OpenGL and Direct3D will not work as long these drivers are installed! But you can easily deinstall NeoS2007 driver pack to recover OpenGL and Direct3D functions on your KS20.

Hey thanks. That is great news! Sadly I don't want to sacrifice my games for Opera 9.7 when I can use Opera 9.5. Do you think there's hope that the next opera release could fix this problem? And just from curiosity: can you explain further why this happens on KS20?

So I decided to install that driver and Opera 9.7 now works flawlessly! The truth is that I don't have problems with the games, either! Thanks!

Great to hear this. I'll add the info to the thread that the KS20 works with driverpack beta 1.

Ohh come one!!!
The most games are 2D. And many 3D games can also run in a slow software 3D mode. Thats the main reason why your games still work! But 3D hardware acceleration does not work on the KS20 (KisS ROM), after installing NeoS Driver pack.
Every body can test this with the help of TestOpenGL, TestOpenGL_src and LightsOn. You can download these 3D test tools here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511363
After removing NeoS Driver Pack all 3D test are working again.
But all KS20 users need the NeoS Driver Pack (OpenVG) to run Opera 9.7.
@ NeoS
So the KS20 has still the same issue, like all other MSM7200 chipset phones. Sorry for this bad news!

You're right. Those tests didn't work but nevertheless I didn't notice any significant performance decrease in POP HD and several 3D racing games so anyway that solution works great for me. Maybe the hardware acceleration in KS20 isn't so significant so one can do without it :)

Sure, because those games use pure software 3D rendering. They are all ports from the java version to windows mobile. And the MSM7200 chip is fast enough to render the environment in software 3D. The chars are all pre-rendered models. Like in the good, amiga, pc, ps1 ... 3D times ;)

A new Opera 9.7 Build 35461 version is available, where you do not need any longer those NeoS2007 driver pack, which also breaks the OpenGL 3D functionality on our KS20. So, just deinstall those NeoS2007 driver pack to get your OpenGL 3D hardware support back and install these new Opera version.
