wanna be popular in the Android community? Write a server side script/form that will run a conversion from a properly sized png to a flashable image via webform and email the results back or make it downloadable.
kinda like for favicon ( see any of http://delicious.com/sastian/favicon )
all that would be needed is a linux server with Imagemagick , the android dev environment ( for rgb2565) and some perl script tied to a web form.
Any takers? I may try this myself.
this idea struck me after literally spending the night on the couch so i could compile ImageMagick on my Dual G5...

* To build the Android files in a Mac OS environment, you need an Intel/x86 machine. The Android build system and tools do not support the obsolete PowerPC architecture.
