UPDATE (2009-12-19) – SMALL FIX

There is a small but important fix for writing in Arabic in Excalibur, it was missing 2 characters, و and ذ, details and fix in post #125 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5178033&postcount=125).

This fix is for Excalibur only and any version.

Since it is based on an older build than v2.x and might be somewhat unstable and non-functional on some devices, I will keep v2.x downloads and continue to fix any issues with that version also.

Added a LITE version CAB of the v2.2 Read Only Arabizer which doesnt contain the new Nina font, but the old one with font link method, as the new one doesnt show correct on 96DPI screens. However this comes at the expense of vowels not displaying correctly as in the full version. Vowels show as squares.

* Renamed to Smartphone Arabizer, Excalibur Arabizer and Vox Arabizer.

* Recreated Nina font again to fix some jagged edges on regular. Now Nina has the same Latin alphabets as Segoe Condensed hence giving the device a regular not overbloated looks while Arabic vowels work (more info in post #29 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4195601&postcount=29)).

* Cleaned the CAB installers and added all the necessary patches from previous fixes.

INFORMATION

Smartphone Arabizer will run on most Windows Mobile Standard devices running any ROM with 6, 6.1 or 6.5, OEM or Cooked. The Arabizer is for Reading purpose only such as SMS, emails and websites (IE Only, Opera Mini NOT supported). No writing system is included. As for the Excalibur and Vox Arabizers, those are full complete packages for both reading & writing. There 3 versions, v3.x, v2.x and v2.x.LITE.

v3.x

This version is based on the WM6 Smartphone Arabizer in the VOX Arabic ROM, modified and released by TSD and posted here by hmdshmds. This particular Arabizer is an older build than the one used in v2.x hence making it somewhat less stable. However since it was made originally for smartphones and not PPC, it seems to render Vowels correctly without a modified font and it include a fully functional Settings App. The localization file, wince.nls wasn’t working on this version, so usemynls was used to load the Arabic local file.

v2.x

The Reading part of v2.x is based on the latest build of the PocketPC Arabizers from Arabic ROMs released by HTC. Trimmed and modified for SP and a modified poutlook.exe, named poutlook_ara.exe used by Rai without replacing the original poutlook.exe. The original poutlook.exe on many 6.1 ROMs had many issues with this PPC Arabic. Issues includes freezing/hanging Contacts and no chars in edit boxes in contacts.

v2.x has an edited/modified Nina font to look like Segoe to completely Alias it instead of fontlinking.

v2.x has been extensively tested, widely used and proven to be stable, fast and quite functional, if you are having issues with v3.x , use v2.x.

v2.x.LITE

v2.x.LITE is a stripped version of v2.x without the wince.nls localization file and without the modified Nina font. Instead it uses fontlinking to replace the Arabic characters. This version have the advantage of working on almost if not all WM6+ devices/ROMs. Also it is for 96dpi as the modified Nina does not render correctly when very small. This version will not show vowels and some apps like WMP will not show proper Arabic, it is used for quick SMS and Email reading If nothing more is required. Very light and stable.

Writing (v3.x/v2.x)

The writing part is based on the official WM6 Vox Arabic ROM. And the released files by Dr. Martin Gonzo with special Thanks to him. this is the post, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318836.

INSTALLATION

For all phones except Excalibur and Vox, please use KM-SmartArabizer-x.x.cab.

If the phone is Official ROM it needs to be app and security unlocked 1st.

If you have an Excalibur or a Vox, choose the appropriate installer for the phone, u can still install the above if u don’t want writing capabilities. You DO NOT need anymore the reading part to install the writing, it’s a single combined installer for both.

If you install v3.x and u get errors at boot up, such us “bidi load error” or the Arabic Settings App is not running, phone needs to be security unlocked. If issue persist, it is better to install v2.x instead. Sometimes a reboot will do the trick.

If you installed any previous version and/or any patches, please uninstall everything in the order they were installed from last to first before installing this version. If you have installed the font fix patch or v2.0 which had that patch, leave that as is it might freeze some phones with certain ROMs after uninstalling. For more info on this check post #40 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4230938&postcount=40) and post #41 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4232571&postcount=41). Make a full backup of your data on the phone prior to uninstalling anything. v2.2 can be uninstalled safely. The best way around this issue is to backup your data, hard reset the phone and install new v2.2 cab.

If this is the 1st time installing, please do it on a clean ROM. If u cannot, delete your email accounts (ie. Gmail) 1st and resync-redownload after installation. Otherwise email subjects in the list will remain appearing as gibberish as they were saved that way. This also applies to contacts and calendar items in Arabic.

After installation you need to reboot the device if the installer doesn’t ask you to.


ISSUES

Text will not have right to left alignment, this is by design, if it is RTL also English will be aligned from right to left. Writing will only start from right to left if the sentence is started in Arabic.

Vowels don’t work in writing mode on Excalibur. Works only on Vox.

When installed, it will only have English, Arabic and French as xT9 lanuguages, if you had others they won’t show up. It will return to original when uninstalled.

Writing will only start from right to left if the sentence is started in Arabic.

EnergyROM 1.3 and 1.4 (6.1 based) showed some problems with Edit boxes in various areas. No characters appear until u navigate away from the box. this issue is not there in Later releases of NRG. And non harmfull.

In some cases, and only with v3.x, the phone might hang on the homescreen or when a phone reboots, it can’t load the arabizer. A reboot should fix it.

Samsung C6625 and Palm Treo 500 with Official ROMs are not supported (Freezing/Hanging).

Pre-WM6 devices also will not work.

Hello, Finally I got what I am looking for, I installed the cab and after rebooting i was able to read email in Arabic, it used to be squares, also I copy and paste some Arabic text from my email and send it to myself and I received it in Arabic with no problem.
Internet explorer, did not work until I change the Encoding from Western Europe to Unicode (UTF-8) however some website shows unconnected letters but in a correct order.
I found in both email and IE5 is when there is a number or pullet list I got the number in left and beginning of the sentence in the right.
The text is indexed left to right it will be very nice if it will be from right to left.
The font size in the email is huge comparing with the title of the email
Opera mini shows all Arabic letters disconnected.
I am using [ROM][EXCA][** 3VOLUTION series **][WM6.5 STD 21812][Latest Build 3VO.1.40.070109]
In T-Mobile dash.
Contact works great too.

Im glad it worked as it supposed to.

The installer installs and uses Nina font for the arabic part as Segoe Cond. dont have arabic in it. Nina is slightly bigger and bolder than Segoe hence the arabic will appear slightly bigger.

Now if ur system or Homescreen/Sliding Panels font is setup to be Nina and the .ttf was not there before, these things will also appear bigger and bolder. It needs to be changed back to Segoe Condensed.

The attached cab will change the system and menu fonts to Segoe with default size. Let me know if that helps. As for homescreen/sliding panel. this needs to be changed manually. Also if u/ROM uses FontAlias to substitute Segoe with Nina, this will have to be deleted Manually.

I cant think of any other reason why ur getting larger start menu.

The Opera issue, I didn't try it or i ever used it. however i did once come across arabic issues and solutions for Opera on touch screens if u can google those on xda u might find a solution for it.

For text not aligned on the right, sorry that i cant do anything about it, if I do right alignment, english will also be starting from the right.

FINALLY something that actually works! So far so good: no bloated fonts anywhere, I can read Arabic in SMS and IE, and all the letters are beautifully connected :D Didn't need to apply the other CAB. I'm using HTC S620 with the latest 3VOLUTION ROM. Good work man!

Good to hear that. btw the other cab (font.fix) is not needed by anybody unless u use Nina as ur main font then things will appear slightly larger (some actually likes it). and I believed mohammad_es7 had this issue so i made this cab, but his issue seems diffrent.

I am connected to exchange and i just sent an email with arabic from my desktop outlook with arabic using 4 diffrent fonts in the text, Arial, Segoe UI, Tahoma and Verdana. I received it perfectly fine all apearing as a single font, nina. I tried this procedure with S620 using 2 diffrent ROMs, NRGZ28 'Rose' v1.4.1 LITE and EnergyROM 6.5 NRGZ28 061509.

can u try doing the same and tell me whats happening, also if u have access to a registry editor like CeRegEditor or Resco, i need to know what is in your fontlinks and fontalias, also some software that u install might interfere with system fonts.

Ok, I flashed latest 3VO ROM (WM65_3VO.1.40.070109) to understand ur issue better. Still i am getting all Arabic, i synced it to exchange and made many tests with Outlook with diffrent fonts, everything appeared fine.

I did notice in emails when its replied or forwarded, the bottom original text is in diffrent font, and it appears to be Tahoma, it also have Arabic characters and its in the windows folder. Also this font is rarely used in Smartphones, only in PocketPC as its a wide font.

Anyways I made a cab for u that replaces any Tahoma, Arial, Segoe UI, and Courier with Nina.

I hope this works for you. Please let me know.

Note that it also could be a software you installed that messes with system fonts.

THIS CAB IS NOT NEEDED BY ANY1 UNLESS U HAVE 3VO ROM ON EXCALIBUR AND UR HAVING FONTS ISSUES IN EMAILS SENT BY OUTLOOK. AND PLEASE WAIT FOR THE CONFIRMATION BY abofihmi THAT IT IS WORKING.

Hi there, it seems were on the right track, but I am having difficulties reproducing the issue(s) your having, I am getting perfectly connected Arabic in both Subject and Body, even without applying the 3VO font patch. I am using the same ROM as you. So it is difficult to fix what i cannot see. can u help me a bit here, i need from you few things if its possible:

1) Describe a little more the issue, what u mean by gebrish, is it squares, question marks, disconnected Arabic or disconnected Arabic from left to right.
2) A screenshot of the issue. (if possible, it can help alot to identify what font the header ur system is using)
3) What software u have installed other than what came with the 3VO ROM.
4) If u can email me / forward any of the email your having issues with, if there not confidential.

Yes u can, i made it with non-arabic DASH as i gave my arabic one away. and i made it on the latest 3volution ROM.

I think he installed it, "I install the latest Reading cab V2", but hes phone in particular is always having strange issues although its the same ROM i use.

@abofihmi im still waiting for any information i asked from before if u can help out to sort the issues ur having. Also if ur still using the older version of 3VOLUTION or updated to the 3VO.2.00.071809 version.

What keyboard u have? UK, US(T-mobile) or Azerty? also when pressing alt-space or fn-space u dont get the Language selection menu?

The installer doesnt touch the english map so it shouldnt have affected u in that way.

Try using the keyboard selector included in the rom and choose the correct one.

Thank ypu for your quick responds, I am using T-Mobil, and i was not aware about the alt-space to change the language, i found Arabic XT9 Arabic is selected, i accessed the language menue and i was able to change the language back and forth and it seems to be working fine.
At this point i can read my arabic contact and send and receive text messages in Arabic, I sent to my self a same arabic email using outlook and msn web email, i was not able to read the message title or the email in Arabic, not sure why?
I will answer ypur questions in preious post sometimes today.

Yes, cause i didn't include the localization file wince.nls in the cab, as it might cause instability in some phones/ROMs and i made it universal and non-harmful if someone wishes to uninstall.

The major point of the Arabic cab was not the whole arabization of the device, but to be able to read SMS/email and respond to them(in EXCA and VOX).

This cab has wince.nls and proper nls registry entries for local to fix ur issue, arabic titles will apear in WMP.

With this wince.nls u can also choose Arabic locals from Regional settings. However when u choose arabic local, your Time and Date will also appear in Arabic.(only date and time, not the whole interface as Arabic MUIs are not present).

Edit: This works well with 3EVOLUTION on Dash and uninstalls ok. abofihmi can u plz try it and let me know if u still get some gibersish.

Edit 2: CAB removed and file added in v2.2 after more testing.

the email problems has been resolved 75%, now i am able to read messages that i was not able to read before, also the title is correct.

The only problem left in the email is the title of the email in the message list is jebrish but when i open it reads correctly.

Media player still showing jebrish, in the player windows and the home screen, after changing the local language to Arabic every things work perfect.

Hey man you are a great programmer, many big company could not do what you have done and i am sure many Arabs and Muslims they will pray for you.

I have one other request, there option in the browser under encoding read Left to Right, and another one read Right to Left, that is nice when you read in Arabic is not very critical but it is a PLUS.

I noticed in the email that some letter are showing as squares or they are overlapping with squares, i am not familiar with windows mobile architecture but in windows i see that if i do not have the font installed. Do you thing is a good idea if we install some Arabic fonts.

ISSUES

Subject appearing as gibberish text

This is not a font issue it is an encoding issue and it is caused from the sending mail app (i.e. Outlook or any Web mail). It sent it in an encoding that the phone did not understand or not formatted correctly.(most prob Ascii).

Some web mail do that, specially yahoo and hotmail if the html mail is sent with content-type set to us-ascii and not unicode, as for outlook u need to make sure that u have the right settings in International Options under Mail Format tab in settings.

This can not be sorted from the phone, the phone will display what it received as encoding.

Not all email subject will apear like this, only the ones sent with non-arabic or non-unicode encodings and i havent gotten 1 thats similar. The only way i was able reproduce this issue is to save a .doc file in .rtf, it will show like this, as .rtf can only contain ascii chars.

The overlapping squares

Those are the vowel points, and i already mentioned that they dont work in the 1st post although in writing and called them accents, my fault, i will fix the post.There the short vowels, harakaat like the fatha and kasra, etc...above the characters.(examples: بثَبَّتَ,ثَبَتُّنَ,بِيت ).

This is by design. The way fonts are used is by font linking method and not total replacing, in that way the system font remains as it is, Segoe Condensed, small, good and readable, while it only replaces the arabic parts with Nina. However it cannot recognize the vowels so they end up overlapping the arabic with Segoe squares.

There is a solution to this. Totally replacing Segoe with Nina. If u wish to see all the vowels. This method has a side effect of having a larger and bolder system font (I included screenshots to compare). If you dont mind the bigger fonts then all vowels will apear and ull have no fonts issues at all.

I included a cab that will do that if u wish to try it out. (Edit: cab removed and replaced with the below better new one.)

Note: in writing u still wont be able to write the vowels in Excalibur.

EDIT: VOWELS ISSUE FIXED WITHOUT ENLARGED SYSTEM FONT. I MADE A NEW NINA FONT REPLACING THE ENGLISH CHARS WITH THE ONES FROM SEGOE. THE OUTCOME IS SAME SMALL SYSTEM FONT BUT ALL ARABIC+VOWELS IS RENDERED. CAB IS INCLUDED WITH NEW FONT AND REG ENTRIES.

Again it is an encoding issue from the sending client, i tried to reproduce from multiple clients, didn't work. I dont think i can sort that one out, however i will look into it.

Are you getting ALL your email subject like this in gibberish or only some?.

For the bold issue, is it the english or arabic. Can i see a screen, my emails are coming regular and bold depending on the content.

I also attached a screen of the arabic keys on the dash, its the best one i found.

The email title issue happenes rarely and from specific people only, most my email titles are fine.
Regarding the bold font that for the arabic one, i have not received any arabic email after installing the last cab, but the one I have proble with before the font becomes bold, i will attached to images before and after.

i noticed from your email that the text alligned very nicely to the right my is not, not sure why.

Hi, did u try changing the local to Arabic in Regional Settings? are you syncing the music using desktop Windows Media Player or copying them manually then adding them with the mobile WMP to the library?

If you are syncing and not direct copy, it is a known effect. if you google it u might find some info about unicode mp3 tags, i am not very familiar with it or with tags, u can start with this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513860.

I tried both copying manually and adding in phone library and syncing via WMP. Copying, the library showed correct, syncing showed latin encoding with gibberish chars instead of proper Arabic encoding. Posted screens for comparison.

Edit: I flashed the old WM5 Arabic ROM from HTC and I got the same result when synced. That is a complete Arabized interface (screens 2 is copied, screen 3 is synced).

The email title issue happenes rarely and from specific people only, most my email titles are fine.
Regarding the bold font that for the arabic one, i have not received any arabic email after installing the last cab, but the one I have proble with before the font becomes bold, i will attached to images before and after.

i noticed from your email that the text alligned very nicely to the right my is not, not sure why.
Finally thanks for the arabic dask kb layout image.

You got quite a bold font in this, and the vowels are somehow straight instead of being a little bent. The text from right to left depends totally on the email sent to you and forwarded, if you look on screen 2, it is from left to right.

Tell me, are all your arabic emails this bold and solid? also I attached arabic text can you please copy/paste it and email it to urself and let me know of the result.

Actually this is how its suppose to appear, specially if sent from Outlook, similar to screen 2 from my post.

As i said before, unfortunatly thers no right to left alignment. I just wanted to see the if it will come ok or bold and if the vowels are straight or bent. For the email in my shot that appear proper it was sent from yahoo to gmail to myself again, and by coincidence. It is very rare for it to come like this, this depends on the email and it is due to the html code in the msg itself. You can try doing that if you want.

I misunderstood your encoding thing, was that put in outlook 2007 itself? also it is better to always use unicode throughout instead of arabic. btw encoding has nothing to do with alignment.

When the 4 old separate cab files were uninstalled to make a place to this new patch the ROM become instable not waking up after every sleep :eek: probably something was missing thus I reinstalled the latest 3VoROM then this latest cab now it’s working well.
For testing purpose I uninstalled again this Arabizer 2.2 cab just to see if the phone misses something or freezes but no surprise it’s still running fine. Good news, nice improvements and great Job King :D

ahhh the scary uninstaller...I sincerely appologise for that, i forgot to mention to uninstall from the order it was installed last to 1st. And to backup ur stuff.

I think the font fix patch i did a while which had segoe in it was the culprit in this as it removes the main system font when uninstalled if seoge is not located in the ROM itself and cannot be deleted. My mistake. v2 also had that patch in it.

Anyways new v2.2 dont have segoe in them so uninstalling was fine.

I will update the installation notes in the 1st page about this fontpatch to leave it as is so it doesnt do harm when uninstalling.

Again, thanks alot for all the testing and feedback ur doing on this. Without those i couldn't have improved it.

A new challenge for you King, all is working fine with this cab v2.2 except this morning I received an email I think in html format and it was displayed as you see in the attached picture...but IE shows Arabic correctly :rolleyes:

sorry for the late reply, i was extremely busy and havent had the time to do test and concentrate on this.

Now when u say u like reading notes under Word but not displaying Arabic, could u be more specific, as Word perfectly displays Arabic.

1) What phone and ROM u have
2) Are u talking about Notes synced via Activesync? for some reason all my smartphones can't sync Notes, only my Pocket PCs and when they do, it destroys the encoding and turns the arabic into gibberish in both phone and desktop Outlook.
3) The Notes you are reffering to, when u read them in other apps than Word, do u get them in Arabic or gibberish

hey mobilis also i appologise for the long time to reply. Whats new with ur issue, do u still get such emails? when u say IE, are u referring to PocketIE or desktop IE? getting an email like this from time to time is unavoidable and i dont think i got any solution for it, i think ther mostly malformed headers and the client cannot understand those. Still i cannot confirm as i can't reproduce it and i havent gotten such emails.

As for other news

Ill be trying to release a new version sometime soon, perhaps I will add a settings app to change various options, also found out that v2.2 with the new font in it on 96DPI is not showing correct at all with bouncy letters up and down, I will release a LITE version without that font for 96dpi but on the expense of vowels not showing proper. This is also slightly visible only in File Manager in the 3VO ROM. When i have the time, I will try to clean up/redo the font.

Edit: LITE CAB, specially for 96DPI is now on the 1st link.

Relax...Just install the attached patch file and all will be good.

For some reason ookba cooked in this version of the ROM the original big letters non-unicode Nina font so it is automatically picking that version. I renamed the fonts to the same name he had to replace his. I will include this in future packages.

U can remove the lite and reinstall the full Excalibur Arabizer, reboot, then install this patch. u dont have to even choose Arabic Local and things will show up in Arabic.

The prayer times that came with the Pocket PC ROMs doesnt work on smartphone, and the old WM5 Smartphone version also doesnt work, i tried my best to get it to work on WM6+. I will try to make one inshallah as soon as i can and have lots of free time.

Meanwhile u can try and use this one http://www.searchtruth.com/mobile/azan/download_mobile_azan.php it is java based, im not a fan of java but this one will work good. just install it in Jbed. Also they have good other java apps here http://www.searchtruth.com/alldownloads.php.

Thank you for this great find, this arabizer is the one found in the WM6 Arabic ROM of VOX made to work on other phones by TSD. The one I am using is also a TSD one, but made for Pocket PC and it is a much newer build, I modified to work on smartphones, hence having no issues on 6.1 and 6.5. I do use the eT9/writing part from that same ROM in both the Excalibur and Vox arabizers.

Installing the file u posted will pose too many issues, including many apps not showing Arabic but gibberish due to localization file not loading at startup, big over bloated fonts everywhere for completely replacing system fonts, hanging on booting and activesync connections, and removes the profiles from the Quicklist and Settings. Also it contains too many unneeded files and apps. (btw the screenshots u posted are of Pocket PC not Smartphone, hence it looks ok).

However it has some advantages over the PocketPC one, it can show vowels without creating a new hybrid font as I did and it has the Settings App (which is only really useful if u have writing capability). And since its a build made for smartphones, it doesnt need a modified poutlook.exe.

So I decided to make v3.0 based on it. I dissected it, fixed all the visible issues, included fixes to load the localization file and fonts (now it has very clean fonts everywhere, including better than the v2.x releases and on 96dpi).

Right now I will test it some more and later today I will release it. Also I will keep v2 in case this release causes major issues and hanging on some peoples phones, as this build might freeze some phones with 6.1.

Also I will include in both v3 and v2 a small fix for 3EVO ROMs, the SYM button doesn’t work when English or French is chosen as typing language.

Since it is based on an older build than v2.x and might be somewhat unstable and non-functional on some devices so please test it as much as u can.

Hey ceramic,

all versions are suitable for that phone (as long as it is app/security unlocked), which one really depends on you.

v3.0 is still experimental, so if u want something stable and do not want to bother with testing go for v2.3.

If you just need something to quickly read SMS, email & browsing without the need of having other apps support Arabic or you dont mind vowels on top or bottom of the characters not showing up, install the 2.3.LITE version. (vowels shows as squares).

I haven't installed or tested it any version on a pantech before, it will be interesting to know whats the result.

Hi, writing cannot be generic, it has to be per device, and now it is only available for HTC Vox (s710) and Excalibur (s620). It can be done with any HTC device with 6+. For pantech i dont think i can get my hands on that device to get arabic writing on it.

I am not sure i follow you here, do you mean the english/interface is big and bold? cause the english interface is pure Segoe, and u shouldn't replace Segoe that way, specially with a font made for printing. Other Arabizers do replace Segoe with Nina, but this one doesn't, v3.x and v2.x.LITE do font linking to replace ONLY the arabic with Nina, and v2.x contains a Nina which i modified to contain the Segoe Latin Characters with Nina Arabic.

If your talking about the Arabic part being bold and big, yes it is slightly bigger, but it is very clean and visible. Nina, like Segoe, is a modern font made for on screen viewing, unlike Times New Roman, which looks very traditional, classic and made for print.

So i will keep Nina for the Arabic part. However if anyone wishes to try Times New Roman instead of Nina for the Arabic part ONLY, not total replacing, I included a cab for it, KM-Times-Font-Replacer.cab this uses fontlink to replace the Arabic with Times while leaving Segoe alone. You should replace back the actual Segoe font and use this cab instead.

I included screenshots to see the diffrence.

Tell him to also install KM-Vox-Arabizer-3.0.cab from 1st post on his Pantech, reboot, then install the below KM-Pantech-Arabizer-Patch-3.0.1.cab. I can't test how or if it will work, its up to him to tell us.

I installed the arabic reading only support on my motorola Q9h and it worked perfect excep for something small made me remove it again from the device

all buttons working normaly except MENU button for any application. when i press it it flicker and gives nothing i mean no menu opens.

Please can you tell me how to solve this problem

The only thing i can think of is a hard reset if the battery thing didnt work. Most HTC devices can be hard reset if u press and hold the 2 soft bottons while turning on the phone.

Yeah, I tried removing the battery a couple of times, and also just letting the phone run its course (waited like 20 minutes). In the end, a hard reset was needed.
So I originally had the read.only.v1.cab, and that was working fine... silly me decided to upgrade to v3. I uninstalled planning on switching to the v2.3 lite, bc i didnt need the extra features. The only thing unlocked on my phone is the sim card... Im now going to search the forums on how to application unlocking, so when i try to install v2.3 lite it doesnt do this to me again.

What u mean by add, writing? or reading? Reading it will display Farsi characters, but writing, on a keypad only like SmartFlip, unfortunatly i can not do anything about it unless u can sort out some xt9 files for Farsi, which i believe they never made. Also with this one unlike the old IME u cant edit or change the Symbols in order to put the extra farsi characters.

For a phone with full querty keyboard, u can edit the map file and change some Arabic Chars with Farsi ones, it will work.

Is reading not working for you? because it should, and if things are not appearing in proper farsi, try changing the locale in Regional Settings to Farsi.

The Symbols cannot be changed on smartphones with XT9. Even on full hardware qwerty keyboards where u can change the whole map to what u want u cannot edit the symbols.

I Looked at it, this is the normal untouched Build 416 of the MOBIDIV PPC Arabizer, nothing changed in it. Also i doubt it can write, it is missing the keyboard components, which i think u add resco keyboard on top of it with Farsi Map. SmartArabizer v2.x is based on the same build I made to work properly on Smartphone. It is a good build.

Nothing helpful can be extracted from it. Writing on PPC can be easily done with any 3rd party keyboard APP and some graphics, but on smartphone it is not that easy. Also the company that made T9/XT9 didnt do support/dictionaries for farsi, if u go here ull see what languages are available in XT9, http://www.nuance.com/t9/xt9language.asp.

You can with modifications, but u will still not get Farsi writing (or Arabic without XT9 Arabic system). You only get reading. I attached a cab if u want to test it.

I was refering to the on-screen arabic keyboard which was missing, however if AlirezA somehow changed the internals of the .dlls to make it write farsi on a hardware keypad, then maybe, i cant test this or work it out as i dont have a PPC with hardware keypad/keyboard.

Now, even if that was the case, it will not work on a smartphone with a modified installer. The writing systems & architecture for both Standard and Pro are diffrent and not interchangeable.

Again heres the AlirezA cab made to work on Smartphone, if u wish to give it a shot, who knows. U need to uninstall the Arabizer 1st, starting with the patch, then v3.

Cause this was made for PPC it will only read, if u want to add writing to it, install the attached writing cab(will only do Arabic).

Unless a Farsi XT9/T9 is made, it is simply impossible to get it to work on a keypad only system. However if AlirezA can use a Hex editor to modify the characters on the MOBIDiV, try to give him the below writing cab and ask him if he can hex edit the Arabic DLLs and exchange some chars with Farsi ones.

I installed it on Smartpone, it works somehow, u can read arabic in word and text files, but arabic in emails doesnt work its giberrish and nls/localization doesnt work.

Yes i checked ce4arab thread about it, it looks legit, but doesnt work good on smartphone at all, very unstable, specially with messaging. Word documents keeps refreshing and rendering and redrawing on the screen. Outlook compeletly hangs sometimes and keeps redrawing if the subject is in arabic. SP localization doesnt load u need to force load it. Most emails comes in gibberish as well.

The diffrence between PPC and SP is considerable, yes both run on the same core and same binaries can run here and there, but the platform, device drivers, and input methods are diffrent and not all apps behave well or as they should on either when not made for that specific platform. usually with some tweaking here and there u can get some to run properly but thats not always the case.

It seems this MS Arabizer is a long way to go, I tried it on my P3600 PPC. it doesnt work good, mobidiv is still better and faster. i downloaded the rugal qvga one and installed it on it. its slower and for some reason it keeps refreshing and redrawing the screen. also arabic input doesnt work and english doesnt appear on the screen when ur inputing.

Maybe MS will get it right by the time 6.5 is actually released.

Hey there its been a while, hopefully soon ill do a new version as there is the snap arabic rom. I managed to brick my snap cause of it but will try to do something with the arabizer in it.

As for ur issue, I know exactly what u mean, the last 2 Suras from the Index list dont show and it skips to next page. it is a Java VM issue, some versions of Jbed do that, it has nothing to do with the Arabizer.

The Quran app will actually install, work and show correctly aligned and connected Arabic from right to left without even installing the Arabizer. It is independent. Also then it will have the cut index line. If it was working OK before on a previous 3VO ROM, i gather maybe ookba changed something with Jbed in his latest. U have to refer to him on this.

Java apps are not native to WM so WM cannot control their behaviour, including the Arabization, it is done by the app itself, same thing can be said about Opera Mini not showing correctly connected Arabic letters is due to that.

No, Valencia (c6625) has a diffrent keyboard layout than i600 and will not do. Any files that have eT9 and word map or text, also try looking under \program files\ maybe under \program files\tegic\.

Pardon my ignorance, because I still can't find any text file which relates to eT9 keymapping, maybe it's hidden somewhere with a different name and extension :(
Up to now all I can find is these (http://ifile.it/zqs4ort/eT9.zip) dlls which can be found in "\Windows\programs\tegic\eT9\". I'll try and search more thoroughly after I'm done with the hard reset...

Not a big problem, it can be fixed, give me all the *.cpr files in ur \windows\ folder, the files will look like SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr and SlidingPanel_240x320.cpr or HTCSlidingPanel_320x240.cpr, etc... any .cpr file zip it and post it here.

U can do it urselef if u want, just open each .cpr ull find, 2 or 4 files depending on ur rom and replace every instance of Nina u find with Segoe Condensed. then recopy those files back to \windows\.

If ur not running a sliding panel homescreen like windows default, u need to edit the homescreen xml file under \Application Data\Home\ and replace Nina u find with Segoe Condensed.

Since ur insisting on writing in Arabic, here is an a test Arabizer for the i600. I couldnt find a key map anywhere for the i600, i found a map for the i617 in the i600 rom in this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493663) so lets hope the layout is close or similar as the image looks diffrent.

I based it on v2.3 as u had the vanishing profiles issue with v3.0. The writing modules only have English and Arabic and can be changed from the language menu, usually with HTC it is FN+Space. Default is US English, and default layout is Qwerty.

If this works and u have some english characters being typed that are diffrent from the ones printed on the physical keyboard let me know.

Since its a test it might work and it might not work, also be prepared for more hard resets if it doesnt do well.

You didn't have to remove km-arabizer. just replace the fonts in sliding panel cpr files and put them back in \windows\ folder and restart.

I have an issue for awhile but I am not sure who to blame the 3VO 280 ROM or the Arabizer, but today I flashed my phone again (Too much freezing recently) and figure out what causing the issue.
What is the issue: I have a SmartPhoneNote applicatin that Sync notes from outlook to my phone, I found it very handy. It was working fine before installing the Arabizer, after installing the Arabizer the issue started, in all my notes I found in the end of each line a blank square and some time do not see anything except first line of the note and some squares.
It seems to be a font issue, but it is very annoying, I give a long break and now back to work.

I am not sure what ur doing or trying to do, if u remove nina u remove the arabic and if u play with the registry ull mess ur system fonts, all u have to do is replace "Nina" with "Segoe Condensed" inside the cpr files using notepad, i already did that for u in the fontpatch cab i posted earlier.

Now, earlier u had an issue with v3.0 i told u to install v2.3 as its more stable and it will not freeze ur phone if u didnt app unlock it and uninstalled. However it is best to app unlock, everybody seems to be skipping this step and ending up freezing their phones when uninstalling.

To make it short:

1-SDA_ApplicationUnlock
2-Arabizer v2.3 cab
3-Homescreen Fonts Patch.cab

And thats it. if u cant understand the above tell me i will write it in Arabic.

The thing is im reluctant to install anything on my PC side, always like to keep it clean, i dont mind the phone side, and i already have a notes syncing app installed.

If the problem is from that app and incompability with Arabic, why dont u give PhatNotes (http://www.phatware.com/index.php?q=product/details/phatnotes) a try, i use it, it is much better, secure, Arabic works perfect on it, syncs perfect with outlook and works well and smooth with 3VO 2.80 without hanging it.

There is a desktop version and there is a version for outlook to sync directly with the notes in there, PhatNotes for Outlook (http://www.phatware.com/index.php?q=product/details/phatnotes-ou), only notable diffrence is outlook version u cannot password encrypt notes.

P.S. I installed SmartPhoneNotes 2.2 Demo on the phone, I didnt get the boxes u got, but that could be from the sync side as i directly created arabic note inside, didnt sync it. As for performance it somehow slowed down my phone a bit, specially rendering of menus and switching between apps, nothing major or hanging, however the notes app itself was quite fast.

I believe Jama 101 is a touch screen, so none of those here will work good on it, try one of the TSD arabizers for pro devices.

Thats why TSD is ur best bet, about 2-3 days ago he released build 434, give it a try. Ull find it at ce4arab or most TSDs here in the Development and Hacking section.

unfortunately , imate pined some Arabic support for this device on it's rom that make it so slow and boring !!

After a hard reset, it automatically install again very unnecessary parts and programs that fill phone memory and unfortunately these parts are OEM .

I don't now how i can remove these Ineffective parts . and i want to install some lite Arabizer .

Hi all,

Thanks alot for your work, I tried to install KM-Vox-Arabizer-3.0.cab, and it works perfect, but when I installed KM-Keybad-Arabizer-3.0.cab, it did not work, even now I can not type in English, when I uninstall it or set the Default input mode to English only, I start typing good.

Please advice...

There is no KM-Keybad-Arabizer-3.0.cab release. It can only be 1 of the 2 you installed, KM-Keypad-Arabic-Writing-3.0.3.cab, or KM-Keypad-Arabizer-Patch-3.0.1.cab, which one?

Also Can you tell me what device exactly u have? If its a Keypad only iPAQ like the 514 and not with qwerty keyboard, the Vox+Keypad Patch should work correctly as i am using one(with official 6.0 ROM).

I should have been more clear on the KM-Keypad-Arabic-Writing-3.0.3.cab that it was ment to be as a test only for ceramic for him to try to type in Farsi. I will remove it.

So as not to confuse u what to do, i made u an iPAQ Arabizer, this is complete with both reading and writing, so u need to uninstall the Vox Arabizer. Note before uninstalling vox v3.0, if u have not app unlocked ur phone before installation, DO NOT uninstall as ur phone will freeze at bootup, and u might need hard reset.

Give this iPAQ Arabizer a try and let me know. Works well on mine.

I also included a fix, iPAQ_Original_t9_Fix.cab, incase u want to restore ur original T9 Language menu after u uninstalled the Keypad and ur only getting english, with this it will be back to original with whatever languages u had before install.

Notes:

1 - This is for iPAQs with Keypad only.
2 - Phone must be app unlocked and sdkcerts installed.
3 - Uninstall any previous versions of the Arabizer (including the Vox).
4 - Reboot after install if it doesn't ask.
5 - Original_t9_fix is ONLY a FIX if you UNINSTALL it, NOT ment to be installed after the iPAQ Arabizer.

Ok the above cab or any keypad cab will not work on this, its only for the Keypad versions of iPAQs such as the 514. Dont install it as it will not help u.

If its touch u can easily find an arabizer with on-screen arabic keyboard in the development section or in ce4arab.com. If u need Arabic for the hardware keyboard, i need to check how its done on the touch pro.

If u have a non-touch phone, and ur writing system is based on xt9 and u have the map files i can try to make u an writing system for it, however its rather difficult as u can read from the previous posts on the samsung efforts. specially if the combo button to bring out the language menu is not fn+space or alt+space. (plz read the samsung issues here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9)).

I need u to check if u have any keyboard map files in the \Windows\ folder of the device, the files will be in similar formats as eT9.xxxxxx.0409.kmap.txt where xxxxxxx is the name/model of ur device and if its alt+space or fn+space to bring out the language menu. otherwise its not possible to do writing.


And how I can check the second Note :
2 - Phone must be app unlocked and sdkcerts installed.


You can not check for it, u had to do this before u installed the arabizer, many people dont check the instructions and install without application unlocking their phones and they end up freezing their phones especially when uninstalling and with v3.0. You need to search how to application unlock ur particular phone model

I included 2 methods to try, 1st is SDA_ApplicationUnlock utility, 2nd is the SecurityOff method, then u need to install the included certificates. Not sure if those will be effective against ur phone. the SecurityOff method works on my iPAQ 514 Voice Messenger, give it a try.

* SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe should be run from ur PC when ur phone is connected to it, then reboot, then transfer the 2 cert files and run from ur phone.

* SecurityOff method, transfer all files to ur phone, and run on ur phone from 1 to 4, u should get an sms that your device settings were changed successfully by .... then reboot.

Since u 1st installed without the unlocking dont uninstall as there is a chance it might freeze the phone, doesnt always happen.

Ok the smartarabizer here is for standard non-touch screens, as this section is also for smartphones only. Look here, http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/showthread.php?t=137802, for the touch based one by TSD, it is very good, and have onscreen arabic keyboard, i believe the latest one is build 434, also support and info on how to get it to work is in that thread.

For a quick link of the file u need to download for ur device is this one http://www.mediafire.com/?zzmlmjfnmzn this cab has arabic touch keyboard, also arabic interface (u can change that in settings) and it is for QVGA.

As for unlocking i would say go for the SDA_unlock method since ur touch, but it is better to check with the forums of any touch phone in the main list.

Yes there good steps, no need to extract ur rom image, its a big hassle to dump ur rom, u need to search for it, i dont know how to do it and there is no guarantee u can reflash it, just forget this step, and hopefully u wont need it, anything goes wrong, a hard reset will do.

You are right, thanks for pointing it out. strange this issue been around since v1 and no one reported it.

Anyways here is the fix, ill also post a link in the 1st post.

و is on , to get it press alt-, (for ; do a long press)

ذ is on V/9 to get it press alt-V (for Arabic 6 do a long press)

(Note: on some keyboards ALT is FN)

Reboot after install, or end Outlook in task manager and restart it.

This issue and fix are only for Excalibur.

!IMPORTANT FIX FOR EXCALIBUR - PLZ DOWNLOAD - WILL SORT THE 2 CHARACTER ISSUE REPORTED ABOVE.

Ur Welcome. The issue is not the phone, its the ROM, this problem has occured only on few phones with particular roms, specially 6.0, i didnt see it happen on any 6.1 or 6.5. Although i have also an iPAQ 514 with OEM 6.0 ROM im not getting this issue. Could be diffrent version, mine is running 2.05.00_GER_FRA.

v2.3.1 is good and will do the trick if u just want to read and write arabic.

Did u install the Smart Arabizer or Excalibur Arabizer? cause the smart should not touch the keyboard, and the exaclibur one, well its only for excalibur not for dash 3g. The arabic clock can be changed if u changed the Local in regional setting.

Not sure about the diffrent web sites issues. Try v2.3 lite on it, i dont have my Mapl anymore, but if u bought it from somewhere in the mid-east or gulf there is an Arabic ROM from HTC that has the latest arabizer in it and supposedly works good. i couldnt flash mine as it is from the UK.

Maybe u can flash the Hard-spl then then arabic rom, i tried the soft-spl and the arabic rom flashing stopped at 17% and bricked my phone, htc didnt help out, i had to wait till official 6.5 rom to fix it.

u can download Smart Arabizer from my 1st post, its exactly the same as the excalibur one but no writing.

Ok you cannot install the HTC Arabic ROM on a t-mobile dash3g, unless u try to use the HARDSPL u can get it from the Mapl section of the forum.

By Palm Pro, u mean Treo Pro?

The answer is no, not totally compatible, this is made for non-touch screen smartphones, it will run and partially work, but will pose issues.

You need the Arabizer for Pro devices, download it from this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=525768) and give it a try.

Few things in the smartphone version that differentiate it from the PPC ver. Fonts manipulations, the loading of the locale files, and issues related to outlook/contacts are specific for SP. In the emulator it will seem to be working good, however on the phone with regular use it is diffrent. It can brake ur regular english font, make fonts seem very small or boldish, contacts and outlook might hang/freeze on certain emails, and worst case scenario, ur phone might actually hang on the boot screen without ever booting, especially if u installed on the PALM OEM ROM, then uninstall it.

If u wish u can give it a try on ur phone, might work, but back up ur phone before that. (anyways always backup if ur installing a system level soft).

The one in the link is excellent, and will work perfect on a ppc device, u tried the full one with arabic interface, u dont need that and will overbloat ur phone, go with the 3rd option, "Very light arabic support build 417 English UI ONLY & without mobidiv keyborad ", basically its ony for reading and quite light on ur phone.

Before installing any of the arabizer, app unlock ur phone if it is oem rom.

Ok u mean unlocked here is as in SIM unlocked? i ment application unlocked. Look in the palm treo pro forums for that, or go to my thread here and use the attached files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5101771&postcount=114.

There is a 6.5 cooked rom, in the palm treo pro section of this forum, but u dont need that, u can check it, follow the instructions in these forums, specially flashing hardspl 1st. These ROMs might be faster and better looking than the OEM however less stable.

The 3rd link will work on 6.1, it is actually made for 6.1, what the guy ment was that it will also work on 6.5, basically the 3rd one is exactly as the 1st and 2nd link, only the whole arabic interface and keyboard stripped from it. 2nd link is same but keyboard still in.

I Just had a look at this phone on gsmarena, it is touch with WinMo Pro and hardware keyboard, not standard, you be better off installing the arabizer from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=525768) for this device. Install the 3rd link, the lite one without UI or Keyboard.

Now if you want writing with the builtin hardware keyboard, it may be possible to do u one, BUT ONLY & ONLY IF it uses XT9 and to switch languages u press Alt-Space or Fn-Space. If it is the case, with a full qwerty keyboard it may also be possible to make it type the farsi characters. However, and again, only and only if the conditions above apply.

For more information about this i have discussed it many times in here, check page 9 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9) and 10 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9) for my discussions with bapaogoreng about the keyboard. If it is ur case let me know.

Yes it fixed the problem but also makes a lot of other changes, basicly change it to the previous version of the IE, the pointer (Mouse-like) is not there any more, Exit is gone from the IE menu, one column view back, you can tell that this is not IE6 anymore, but I am satisfied.

When u say with FN, u mean FN+SPACE? or u changed it from the Arabic Settings (leave that to None for both).

FN+SPACE or ALT+SPACE(on some models) to bring the XT9/Language menu and choose Arabic, u can choose also XT9 for Arabic auto-complete or ABC Mode.

Also which Arabizer u have installed? u should be on Excalibur Arabizer, not Smart Arabizer, and also dont forget the excalibur patch for the 2 missing characters.

Now if you want writing with the builtin hardware keyboard, it may be possible to do u one, BUT ONLY & ONLY IF it uses XT9 and to switch languages u press Alt-Space or Fn-Space. If it is the case, with a full qwerty keyboard it may also be possible to make it type the farsi characters. However, and again, only and only if the conditions above apply.

If it is still running v5 OS, nothing here will work, if flashed with v6 and above, the same one u installed on the imate flip should work fine for both reading and writing.

Hi, I really dont know which Arabizer will go with it, ull have to try and test, either 2.3 or 3, i had the Samsung Valencia and it was bugging on the Arabizer, not sure about this one. However i did see it last week in store, and it had Arabic built in, and according to the salesman, the keyboard was Arabic too.

The Arabizer will automatically install the unicode fonts for you, now if you are trying to give any font like nina or times the name "segoe.ttf" name and replacing the one on the phone, this wont work, the reason could be that either the font is in the ROM part and cannot be deleted or replaced, or it is being used by the system and cannot be replaced.

If you are trying to replace the fonts installed by the Arabizer, for example the actual nina.ttf with times renamed into nina.ttf, this will also not work if nina is being used by the system. You have to either change some registry settings, restart, and try again, or try to rename nina.ttf on the phone into something else.

If ur just copying the fonts with original names like "nina.ttf" into windows folder and editing the registry to change the main fonts, and this the phone is not allowing it, it needs application unlocking, which is needed anyways BEFORE you install the Arabizer, specially with v3.

There is 2 ways, via alias or via fontlink.

FontAlias

This method will replace ur entire system font, so things will appear big and bold.

this method will leave the english/latin as segoe and will replace only missing fonts from seoge, including the arabic characters, and any other characters in that font (this is the proper way).

1st of all i am not sure what are u trying to do with all these fonts manual installations, as the arabizer already does that for you, also changing nina to segoe.ttf will make the fonts overall very boldish and large on the screen. That 1st step shouldnt have been made.

2nd Excalibur Arabizer is for Excalibur (Dash, S620) not Samsung, All Arabizers are resolution independent, vox/excalibur/etc.. are for writing on that particular device, he must install SmartArabizer, which only will read and not write, there is no writing for his system, however if he wants writing, tell him to give me the map files, and an image of the keyboard, For more information about this i have discussed it many times in here, check page 9 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9) and 10 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9) for my discussions with bapaogoreng about the keyboard. If it is ur case let me know. however u should know that many attempts failed with old samsung, but maybe this is diffrent.

SmartArabizer is ONLY for reading, NO writing, the B7320 has no writing as i have no device to make writing for it, as i said in my previous post, if u want writing for it, look into page 9 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9) and 10 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535108&page=9), and give me the keyboard map files, also it has to be a compatible xt9 system, and u press alt-space for language menu.

What is the button u press to get the language menu in ur phone? If it is not FN-Space, i cannot make u a full replacer of the current writing system u have.

However, i edited the keyboard map file u attached and made it when ur in English and do LONG PRESS (press and hold) Arabic characters will be typed.

I dont know farsi and what are the missing characters however, if this long press and hold works and no need to do a full writing system u can edit the txt file urself, replace the Hex numbers under LONG with farsi ones and save as unicode with notepad.(No need to do in Hex, u can directly put the character in the notepad).

Anyways replace this file under ur \windows\ folder reboot and try. keep a backup of ur original.

Ok i made full Arabic writing module for the B7320, i cannot guarantee if it works or not as i dont have the device to test it on. you can give it a try and report ur issues. this will write in English, u have to choose Arabic from the language menu. This has writing only, u need the SmartArabizer to be installed 1st. If this doesnt work or u cant open the Language Menu, then u have to stick with the previous long press procedure.

The disappearing profile bug unfortunately i couldnt iron out, it is mostly appearing in WM6.0, u didnt upgrade urs to 6.1 or 6.5?

finally I used KM-Vox-Arabizer-2.3.cab on my S730 wings and the result was amazing, Read and write on both keyboards

With the Vox Arabizer ull have small problems with keyboard as the Vox keyboard and Wings(S730) differ a little. However i did make a Wings Arabizer, based on 3.0. Havent released it though, works good on WM6.1 without disappearing profiles. I can make u one based on 2.3 if ur happy with it. What ROM are u on?

the only down side if you can call it so is that you will have only Arabic English and French.

Ur not suppose to extract the cab file then copy the content and xml file to ur phone. U need to copy the .cab file as it is to ur phone and install the cab.

copy KM-Excalibur-Arabizer-3.0.cab to ur phone via activesync. from ur phone file explorer, not the pc, run it.

As I said the Arabizer u have installed is for the Vox, which have diffrent keyboard and layout, hence ur issues. Also english will not type or the keyboard will not work properly since it is looking for the Vox map files.

As I also said i do have an Arabizer for the Wings if u want to test it, ive included it below for u to install. However i made it with v3.0 and tested it on a modded 6.1 ROM, not an official HTC 6.0 ROM.

The ROM which the Arabizer works good on is the 20279 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447777. Its a super fast ROM. I dont have the Wings on me anymore, so I cannot test and tweak a version for the particular ROM u have.

You need to have the phone Application Unlocked before installing any Arabizer version.

I included the v3.0 which works good on the 6.1 ROM. and v2.3 since the u complained u had the profiles issues in the v3.0 rom.

(If u flash the 20279 6.1 ROM install v3.0 of the Arabizer)

You didnt tell me what other languages u wanted besides English and Arabic.

Let me know whats happening.

U need to copy the .cab file as is to ur phone and install the .cab from ur phone.

Copy the Arabizer cab to ur phone via activesync or mobile center. from ur phone file explorer, not the pc, click/run it.

i tried all the version of arabizer that waz in #1.and the only version that fn+space working waz KM-Excalibur-Arabizer-3.0.cab .in this:
1.Fn+space working & i can select arabic language.
2.i can read & write arabic.
but there is a problem some key lik " W" not working & when i press "E"
key it typ "W".
is there a way that u fix KM-Excalibur-Arabizer-3.0.cab for my b7320 keyboard?

Give the below a try, based on the excalibur one with b7320 modified keymap, u must uninstall KM-Excalibur-Arabizer before u install this, let me know if it works.

i test it but fn+space not working.1,2...9 keys just type numbers.
after a master reset i instal arabizer 2.3_lite & i find some funny: when i press alt+sym the t9 menu appear & i can select language > arabic. but it still typing english.

i test the 2.3 & 3.0 (smart version) and alt+sym working but type english.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm using version 3.0 for excalibur. I've just found a solution...by chance of course. I played a bit with the input language and after a number of reboots found that if you make the input langauge "English Only", it solves the problem.

However, I've found another bug after installing the Arabic software. My profiles have disappeared under both "Settings" and in Com Manager.

I have also noticed that the performance of the rom becomes slower after installing the smartarabizer.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thank you so much for taking the time to create an addon for Arabic smartpone users. May I ask which one you would recommend for a Samsung i600 running the standard European firmware of WM6? Only need it for reading SMS and email.

Can I also ask if your files provide proper Arabic support with correct ligature for joined up Arabic characters as other solutions have failed on this? Finally, do any of your packs provide support for reading Arabic in other applications as well as SMS and email.

Hi, All packages do proper reading for SMS and email, and most apps that support arabic (if its a system app, not java based app), and arabic is properly connected and proper direction, u can check the screens for this. There is no writing for i600, it is ok since u dont need it.

As for which package, u can try KM-Smart-Arabizer-2.3.cab, its slightly older and less features than 3.0, but safer for your phone as some people have experienced a serious issue with profiles breaking with 6.0 roms and i600 on 3.0. Search this thread for "i600". U can try 3.0, but take backup of ur phone, as the only way to solve the profiles issue is a hard reset.

Anyways the issue was discussed long ago and fixes where incorporated back then in later releases.

Yes there good steps, no need to extract ur rom image, its a big hassle to dump ur rom, u need to search for it, i dont know how to do it and there is no guarantee u can reflash it, just forget this step, and hopefully u wont need it, anything goes wrong, a hard reset will do.

Hi there,

Did u install the Smart Arabizer or Excalibur Arabizer? cause the smart should not touch the keyboard, and the exaclibur one, well its only for excalibur not for dash 3g. The arabic clock can be changed if u changed the Local in regional setting.

Not sure about the diffrent web sites issues. Try v2.3 lite on it, i dont have my Mapl anymore, but if u bought it from somewhere in the mid-east or gulf there is an Arabic ROM from HTC that has the latest arabizer in it and supposedly works good. i couldnt flash mine as it is from the UK.

Maybe u can flash the Hard-spl then then arabic rom, i tried the soft-spl and the arabic rom flashing stopped at 17% and bricked my phone, htc didnt help out, i had to wait till official 6.5 rom to fix it.
