Pimbackup hangs while restoring

Hi,

I tried to restore a Backup on my Vario III (WM6.1) which I took on my Vario II (WM6.0) but the restore process fails and I have no indication as to why this happens. Also after the failed attempt (I can see that some things have been restored, but the process didn't complete successfully) the Vario III becomes terribly slow.

Is it probably a memory overflow or something like that? Is there a good alternative for Pimbackup?

here's an update:

The recovery process hanged while trying to recover my text messages. I reduced those to the absolute minimum (no drafts and deleted messages), now the recovery was successful.

Still, what remains is that now WM6.1 is terribly slow. I also get the impression that the touchscreen is not as sensitive as it was before (I have to touch harder).

Any ideas why that is? Is it because I have too many messages stored (about 700)?

the problem seem to have gone. looks like the text messages had to be processed after the recovery, that's what made everything so slow.
