So Frauhottelmann, i have noticed some problems which are wiry! Everytime this popup i have described some time before. The only 3rd .. Software is Nimbuzz on my Vox. Also after some time messaging via sms the Vox gehts a freeze and i have to spring out my battery and restart the Phone. And my Battery dies very fast...
And the most discomposing thing is, after the Phone is rebooted, there is the Wlan Icon on the Desktop and bluetooth isn't found. I reboot it over 5 times till it gets normal! Any idea?

This probably doesn't apply to all your problems, but I've noticed that wifi-toggle, communication manager and some other things start misbehaving if I haven't immediately entered my pin after booting. I think I saw a similar comment made by someone else, so it might be worth keeping in mind.

same issue here...it happens almost every time i reboot...
is starts without the BT icon in the wireless manager and i have to reboot over and over again..to make it find it.

i got a problem, i have changed the pagepool value to 7 and no i only geht aber 30 minutes 0,98 free MB, whats goign wrong? What is the HTCActivitylog.exe? more than 16 MB RAM !!! :confused:

HTCActivityLog is HTC's weather or InnerCircle or other HTC software! You should probably flash again. I am using it without a pagepool change for weeks now and I didn't have lockups or slowdowns or anything.

BTW: I will update the ROM, as soon as HTC releases an update for the Snap! I hope it doesn't take them forever...

oki so now i tryed lite you wm65 and fireburns and it seem to be a problem with the wm6.5 as far as i can see.

in WM6.1 after making a call it would place the call number at the top of the list in the calllogs but in wm6.5 it dosen´t do this. when i stop the call it says ending call and then says last call: top number on the calllog screen.

is there any way to fix this?

hmm...thank you for information, but i took a look today in train...i reflashed my vox before and then noticed, that the problem is given with the titanium panels. a Windows basic Homescreen doesn't make any Problems, but with Titanium. After some time the HTCActivityLog.exe grows up to 17 MB, but why?

What do you guys (frauhottelmann in particular) use for UC, i.e. automatic installation of CABs, REGs and provisioning XMLs from the storage card? Does the ROM have any such feature built in?

I've gotten SASHIMI to work with 2.2, but it's a heavy, slow and verbose beast. If there's a better alternative, I'd like to have it on place before I flash 2.3 (soon).

Well, i have a bug that keeps happening : when i hang up the phone, the display freezes on the last call screen, and i can't do anything, i have to remove the battery and reboot the phone... :(

Hi all,

i needed Greek language support for this image, and found that Paul's language pack works great with it (both T9 and sliding keyboard mappings).

I have only tested English/Greek switching, but all other languages should work (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Czech, Greek, Romanian, Polish, Portugese, Slovak, Turkish, Hungarian)

BTW. The xT9 languages and keyboards provided in the first post didn't work for me. When the Greek keyboard is installed, you can write in Greek but when you switch to English the keyboard does not respond any more. Paul's language pack doesn't have this problem.

Hi All
I've got a couple of copies of the rom as well as different flash utils ( CustomRUU ) - the process starts but bombs out after the phone has rebooted and the image is busy copying ( at about 3% ) then the phone just reboots and the flash utility tells me that the image is corrupt. ( this happens for all images )
Am I missing something, or is there a way to do this via the SD card in the phone?

There is no radio included in the ROM, so whatever you had before you flashed my ROM is what you still have now! Check the Wiki for radios, I don't think there is a big difference between the radios, you would have to try out a few and see what works best for you (if you don't have any problems right now, don't change anything!)!

You cannot increase your RAM (unfortunately it's lower than with a 6.1 ROM)!

You don't need it for Skype, it's for the integrated Windows Mobile VoIP solution. I don't know why the CAB isn't working, I have to check some time!

I just want to try a different radio version, cause sometime the phn does'nt rang n i missed the call, it happens very rare. But still if i flash it with different radio version, do i again hv to do uspl ? And will it affect the rom ?
Can i use any theme with win6.5 ?
I hv downloade a software called 'win5torage' i thought that it will increase the ram... As u said we cant increase ram. Then what is it for and how to use it?

When you use the radios on the ftp of xda-devs, then you don't need to do USPL again. You can find the link in the wiki article!
WM5Torage, when activated, makes your phone into a removable usb storage. So when you attach it to your PC it'll only show up as an usb drive and you won't be able to sync it.

Trying to install WM 6.5 on a S710, following instructions but get "270 update error, the image file is corrupt" in the "USPL- CID BYPASS run" stage.

I reloaded the original ROM file downloaded from HTC, works fine but afterwards still not able to get 6.5 going.

I searched for this error and tried unbrick.bat but that just hangs and does not seem to be doing anything.

Also, Audiomanager makes phone freeze. Man, I could'n be more desappointed. I've tried har reseting phone 3 times now, and it still doesn't work. =/

I'v just made a fresh install of the ROM, and first thing I installed was messenger. But when i logon to msn and the phone connects to GPRS the "G" symbol in the top right doesn't appear and the comm. manager shows GPRS as "off". But I'm connected and online and can send messages on msn.

I read in this thread, that the Titaniumweather makes some problems, so I tried the HTC-Version that I show with CHome Config in HTC Home Homescreen. Everytime when I add a city, I got no failure message, but nothing seems to happen - I don't see any effect! I spent a lot of time reading many forums, but everthing I tried was not successful. I'm really looking forward to it! The current ROM is great, though I have occasional stability issues (Comm Manager, WiFi, soft key menus). The ROM organization is more in line with my way of working than fireburned's (also very nice, though).

With Sashimi, flashing actually becomes fun. Still, I'd appreciate suggestions on post-flash autoinstall tools (cab, reg, xml, mscr).

Must admit I'm drooling on Leo, but your ROM has given such wonderful new life to my trusty Vox that I am in no rush to upgrade. (My HD bit the dust after 9 months, and I actually returned for a full refund.)

You have to activate it! It's in start menu -> experts folder (or whatever your language is...) -> ROM tweaks

Titanium Weather is working fine again. You just have to find the necessary id for your city if you live outside the US!

I like your ROMs, but with all releases ( I tested all) until now I had the problem with Wifi and bluetooth. Also reflashing didn't, or only for some days. But at the end I had the problems, so sometimes I had to reboot 4 times until Wifi worked.

So what is different in your new ROM ? Is there a chance that I won't have this problems with your new ROM which coming hopefully tomorror ?

i have the problem, when i shut shut down my vox, an wifi is active at least, after the reboot, my comm manager doesn´t start, an the context menu (contacts) did not appear. After a few restarts, my vox works normally, but it sucks.

i had the problem with 2.2 + 2.3

1. You can use this ROM after you did USPL (read sticky thread or Wiki page).
2. If it fails, your old WM 6.0 will still be on it.
3. Get a stock ROM from xda's ftp (link can be found in the Wiki).

4. I recommend the newer 'official' v1.0 version...

Yes you need it ...because HTC's original roms are signed...and USPL allows you to flash roms unsigned....made here by chiefs

The first one seems to be the most recent ROM.

Please, can anybody tell me what version should I flash? And what are the main differences between these two versions??? :S :D Thanks!!!

yes, you do. since you want to flash any other rom other then HTC's official.
Jocky's 1.16 as always gone well.
hum if you means wm 6.5 ROMs...they are pretty good and stable.

You don't need it for Skype, it's for the integrated Windows Mobile VoIP solution. I don't know why the CAB isn't working, I have to check some time!

Actually, skype installed fine except... that there is no sound !

ok so i didnt read thru the thread properly. now that i have. the voip cab isnt installing. keep getting an unsuccessful install message.

You don't need the VoIP-CAB for Skype. It's for Windows Mobile's own VoIP functionality, which isn't that good.

hmmm but when i installed skype without the voip cab it said some stuff it needs is missing, and no it did not say what exactly.

i attached the skype version i installed. read around the net that this one still works.

my vox is having a strange problem.... is working but screen sometimes turns black... i can't do nothing because i can't see !!! i even install the original s710 rom and it does the same thing...
any suggestion???

i have the same problem. turns black for a couple of seconds. keypad lights turn on. and then it returns to normal on its on within 5-10 seconds.

this happened more when i was using Snap 1.4 rom. Now it happens maybe once or twice in 2 days.

A black screen but still working device (even phone calls - which are most demanding for the battery) is a sure symptom for a loose flex cable connecting the two parts of the device.
It is just coincidence that you observe it just now with this ROM. There are several related threads how to tackle this - you need mechanical skills to do it, however. A new battery will not help you here.

you may just be right! i experienced this issue only after my vox fell on the street and cracked the glass panel. a frnd of mine fixed the loosened keyboard slide slips and it got better. before that the screen wud go blank at least once every 5-10 mins. its done that only a couple of times in the last few days (specially since i changed the rom from Snap 1.4 to WinMo 6.5 v2.3.

You can use the Pocket dbExplorer to View/Edit, Copy, Rename, Delete, Export (as CSV or text), and Transfer (via infrared port) your pim.vol file

If you can do the backup/restore without PC, don't care about the Sync. You must copy the PPCPimbackup to a memory card with the PC, put the card to the device and start it from there on the device.

Sync problems can happen sometimes (no clue about Mobile Device Center, I am still on XP). Usual stuff to clean up:
- seek for an option on the device (usually at Connections -> USB to PC -> extended functions) and switch it off and try then
- restart PC
- restart device

I think this ROM is the most stable and well tested ROM for the Vox available - and it is multi-language. I think this is not available for any other device :-)

Hi,

I have one more query, thre are basically 3 ways to swith on wifi....a) from settings>connections>wlan settings b) Quicklist and select comm manager(5) and c)wireless manager in our home screen...

But all these 3 options doesn repsond..it either hangs the phone or takes long time to repsond....

Please let me know if u have any solutions for this....

PS : I had to restart phone many times whenever it doesn respond:mad:

Sometimes the initial system startup after ROM upload does not install all things that are needed. I remember that the first boot takes very long and MUST NOT be disrupted! Just hard-reset your phone - or use the Clear Memory application (if in ROM). Then let the first boot run completely until finished. Switch on/off will not do it!

Did you do that:

Please read everything (1st, 2nd, 3rd posts) before you ask questions!!!
The cold boot takes about 5 minutes from pressing the power button until pressing "Reboot" - do not abort it!

But I've one question: is it possible to add custom cities for the weather? Can I use the weather city editor, which is originally for touch devices? Will it work although it's a non-touch device?

Please make sure you delete all sync partnerships after you have flashed your ROM. Then it will sync just fine (I have also faced this issue).

The listed language packs only refer to the eT9 typing support - not the OS or other language specifics, which exists at several places (see my beginners guide to WM and cooking in my signature).
