Just wanted to drop a line to extol the wonders of Androkkid. I have now tried ThrottleLauncher, Pointui2, and a few other UI's, and have always returned to the easy to set up, easy to customize, easy to use, stable, multi-useful Androkkid UI.
SimoSoft has nailed what a UI, especially a finger friendly UI, should be - right on the head, or should I say finger!
Thanks man for a really great product!
And to wmdirk, your widgets really make using Androkkid just plain fun and even easier!
Everyone on this forum rocks, and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who have put up with my stupid questions!

Hi qkzoo.
1. this was intended, so you can see what's the source of your information. No problem for me to make it clickable and do the same action as for an icon (if one is defined)
WMD-RegInfo v1.6 (http://tinyurl.com/wmdreginfo) is available. Executing an application is no longer limited to an icon. When an exe is defined, it will be launched when the text is clicked (with or without an icon linked to it), instead of displaying the item's source.

That's great WMD, thank you! Any chance on being able to support passing along command line arguments with the exe? My idea is that MortScript can receive variables as command line arguments. I've discovered that in place of an exe a web address can be passed, but is either A) limited in the number of characters it can pass, or B) doesn't accept certain characters being passed along. For example, it lets me link to google.com, but not to google.com/t/blah?u=space.com (or whatever the correct mobile transcoder link is). I can rectify this easily using MortScript though.
Thanks again!

See Post 1000 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5354668&postcount=1000): parameters are supported, or isn't that what you're looking for?

I don't know if this helps. But i use this to easily create .lnk for websites.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494613
only bug i found is it saves a url .lnk as "http:\\" instead of "http://" (unless i am not setting it up right). I after i creat the .lnk i just edit it with total commander.
I use it bc i don't know enough to set the parameters correctly.

Hi, this looks to be a great interface, but why are the graphic so rough and low res? and the kinetic scrolling appears to have no hardware acceleration and it a bit choppy, the themes are really really good - will there be a new version that will address these issues?

Are you actually using it on your device? or are you just looking at screen shots? bc i have it on my device and it seems to scroll fine and look good.

yeah I have installed it, it scrolls ok, but when you compare it to the likes of spb mobile or pointui, the kinetic scroll is no where near as smooth, especially the programs menu - and also the graphics are really jagged.

For those who don't have the habit of visiting the Androkkid widget's thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5377892&postcount=583) yet: there's a new widget: WMD-TaskManager (http://tinyurl.com/wmdtaskmanager). More info and download are on my site (http://tinyurl.com/wmdsoft)...

Hi,all
I try this app at the moment ,and feel it very good and usefull.Clear and feel like real AndroidOS..:), very good job, thanks.
And now few questions: i used it on omnia/i900/, and found few bugs, i think....like on this device dont work the right buttons with this app: camera, and uppe menu button. the sound buttons works. And i think couse omnia have 240x400 resolition, the menu showup is no so smoothely, and it stack a lot of times somewhere close to bottom.
And have few ideas, or expections for future versions, if i can tell sutch word :)...
Like is where solution or chois to implement this for newer Androkid??
1. Top Bar,like on AndroidOS, with slide down, appointments, events, alarm, sms, wifi,bt connections showup.
2. Sound buttons,up-down with more finger friendly and android unic graphic.
for now thats all :)..keep on..

Hi,
I want to add a folder. What I did is
1. add and choose folder
2. put it at the right place
3. drag it over the edit area
4. in property "link" I've tried to choose a folder
But that didn't work.
How can I add a shortcut of a folder to the workspace ?

HI,
I'm sure this had been asked too many times, but I'm sorry, the word today is too common and a search in this thread would returns hundreds of post !
So here is my question:
How can I add a Today's app (plugin, widget ?) in androkid screen ? GPSToggle for example.
Notice I didn't ask: "What alternative I have instead of a Today's app ?".

can be done already, but you'll have to modify the wallpaper for that.
first determine the size of your screen(usually 240x320 or 480x640)
then multiply the 1st number by the number of pages you have(example, VGA screen 3 pages would be 3x480 resulting in 1440)
then using an image editor such as photoshop make a new image with the 2nd number as height(y) and the number you just calculated as width(x)
(VGA would be 1440x640)
then load all images you want as wallpapers in the image editor and resize them to your resolution(so for vga 480x640) and save them, and then paste the modified images next to each other in the newly created blank image.

all widgets need to be developed specifically for androkkid, regular today items won't work and can only be displayed by minimizing the androkkid screen.
for androkkid widgets, place a folder containing the widget's files in the widget folder inside the androkkid folder.
then add it to the screen by tapping the add/+ button, selecting widget, and double tapping the widget you want to add(or highlight the widget and tap the select button)

this is the best app i've had in a while. i'm very impressed. i really like every feature it has. from the minimize/close buttons on the top bar, to the stackable icons (unlike android). if you run out of room in android then your outta luck. but with this app you can put icons over widgets and its just great! thanks for this! i do have a suggestion to help with theme development.
i think it would be a big help to be able to refresh the icons on the screen with just a touch of a button. just like we can update the programs list. restarting the app to see the changes time consuming. keep up the good work! later!

I just installed Androkkid on my Acer DX900 dual SIM and its working good. But I am not able to find a way to delete or move the widget. As such widgets are covering each other. Nothing written in the first post and I am not able to find anything after reading first few pages. Still reading but a long thread. If somebody can help as to how to delete/move widgets/ icons etc it will be great!

A question for Simo. At least at this point, widgets have only one settings file or one section of settings in that file. I tend to differentiate pages with different clocks. I've tried running multiple instances of the same widget (for instance, Hero & Hero1 folders) to use different skins. Is there a way in Androkkid to do that?

Sounds like he's on a similar track. But that's hard to tell when there's no usable version available, no widgets, no icons, no themes & no way to tell if it's lean & mean or a resource hog. It certainly has a nice look to it.

Reading the max sense thread it is based around manila 2.5 and requires this to be installed in order to work, the creator does not believe that 2.5 is possible on qvga devices but im pretty sure i saw elsewhere there was a fix for this but either way it relies on manila being installed to make it work which is quite resource heavy and unless you have a rom with it built in takes up a large amount of memory too.
That said it and infinity both have a benefit over androkkid currently in that they can use genuine transpancy for the widgets and icons which in the case of infinity has meant it is easier to create themes and icons to suit your own needs.
Hopefully Simo has been keeping an eye on the competition and has plans to improve the interface in the VERY NEAR FUTURE *cough* *HINT* ;)

You're right that Androkkid is awesome. I've been using it since 0.40, myself. I've donated for both the app & the widgets -- because both are well done, useful to how I use my phone, & the authors' time in creating & supporting them is worth something. They could be spending time doing something else either more financially productive or more in tune with the rest of their life. If you choose not to support them, that's your decision. You could always create your own UI & widgets, then distribute & support them for others for free...or not.

Thanks Bill, as you said: "If you choose not to support them, that's your decision". I provided these widgets for free at the beginning (and some still are, themes (http://tinyurl.com/wmdthemes) I created are freely available as well), and a lot of people downloaded them, but nobody was willing to donate. Then I started to get requests to add new features or even build new widgets, and supporting users started taking up more and more of my (free) time.
I really love Androkkid and building widgets for it, but I'm not going to work for free in my own free time to build things I don't need myself. That's why I charge a small amount (info on my site (http://tinyurl.com/wmdbenefits)), and who is willing to support me now gets 11 widgets (http://tinyurl.com/wmdsoft) (and any future widgets or updates of widgets I create). If you'd like to start building widgets yourself, you can use the lib I created for free.
By the way: 11th one is new (and was a request also): WMD-NextAppointments (http://sites.google.com/site/wmdsoft/news/newwidgetswmd-nextappointments).
I'd like to continu creating Androkkid widgets, but apparently having to pay the price of a couple of beers or a Big Mac menu is too much for most people... It does make me wonder why I keep on doing this.
Fortunately, a few people, like Bill, do appreciate the work some of us do, and their feedback and suggestions keep me going ... for now.

I was more amazed by his tone than the comment. He obviously hasn't noted the various ways different app & widget authors on this site have included donation requests as part of their taglines or in their comments. And, if he was upset at paying to get all the features in the widgets, I wonder if he just skipped over Simo's request for donations.
You missed the context of the statement you quoted. Because I'm now waiting for the public unveiling of his group of widgets that, because of his thinking, we know will be quality, full of desired features, fully supported & FREE. Of course he could switch to Infinity (which does look pretty good), whose widgets are mostly free. But, once it gets out of testing, the main app will be shareware, just like Mobile Shell, Pointui, numerous other apps & your widgets.
I work for an employer, mostly having fun at what I do, but also doing some things my boss needs done that I might rather not do in place of the things I'd rather be doing. Part of our mutual agreement is that I'm compensated for what I do. I've also been a writer. There are some things I've allowed to be published for free because I wanted them out there, others that I'd only have done for pay. And we're all used to shareware. As an employee, freelancer, etc. I have a choice what goes into what I do & whether I charge for it or not. As a customer or user, I have a choice of deciding whether I like a product, whether or not it has the features I want & need, whether I'm willing to pay for it or not & how much. If I'm unwilling to do something without pay, I can't tell people they have to buy it. But, if I want to use a paid/shareware app or widget (or whatever), my choices are either pay for it or don't use it. But nowhere in that mix is there a right to tell someone that it's my choice whether they charge for it or not.
Maybe I've got the wrong attitude or maybe I've been jaded by "Real Life (TM)". But I'm now anxiously awaiting the op's continued production of quality, feature rich, useful, well supported, FREE widgets for Androkkid.

When I get a little more time to play with it, I plan to buy this Clock+ thing of yours, it seems totally worth the money, cudos to you for making it and like people have repeated here it's a free world if somebody else find 7 bucks too much money then just don't use it.

That wasn't a response to a complaint. Just clarification for Teacher1960, who's intending to donate that for one widget. Like most of us, he doesn't think 7 Euros is a lot for the quality & functionality we get. But it sounded like he might have thought that was the donation level to get all the features in ClockPlus, when there is a 2 Euro level for one widget, 3.5 Euros for 3 widgets, & the 7 Euro amount includes all present & future widgets. More than fair. IIRC the latter converts to $10 or $11 US -- still a real bargain.

Kraski- sorry. I didn't think you were complaining. I just quoted you bc you mentioned that it was like 7 Euro and I thought for $10 American people shouldn't complain. But in reality even if it was $100, what's the point of complaining? If you don't like the product- weather it is 99 cents or $100- no one is making us pay for it.

You're right. At the moment, I don't have anything better to do. If I'm understanding your handle correctly, I'm about an hour northeast of you, replying because I don't want to hear anything more about the snow. And, no, those are not my widgets -- I did catch your tone in both messages & didn't like it. No I'm not a nerd, I just use the goodies they supply us. Anything that helps make my phone work closer to the way I work is awesome -- especially since my communications often help people not to do things that would negatively impact their lives. I don't recall seeing anywhere that Androkkid was necessarily freeware, except by those who made that assumption. Many of Dirk's widgets require a donation for an unlock file to permanently use all the features, others are freeware & both are clearly noted on his site as to which they are. If the features &/or the price don't suit you, then don't use & don't pay for them, but don't complain because the author decided his time in creating them was worth more than nothing. Glad you found an alternative. Happy shovelling.

Just a small reaction from my part: on my site's homepage (http://tinyurl.com/wmdsoft) all widgets are listed and for each widget there's an indication: "free", "donate to get all features", or "donators only". And there's plenty of links to the "benefits for donators" page that explains the details... The word "freeware" is nowhere to find (on my site).
PS: just tried TouchOne, but I didn't get it to function really well on my phone... Still, it's an alfa version. I'll try again when it's actually released.

Just posting to thank Simo for all the great work.
I tried the others (like TouchOne) and I like Androkkid much better. The only thing the others do better is smoother scrolling. It would be great if Simo finds a way to do this aswell.
One suggestion:
would it be possible to expand the theme-settings to also include the placements of the icons and widgets. Different backgrounds ask for different placement. At his moment I have to change the theme, and then change the placement of the icons by hand.
Thanks again Simo, great work!

Adding my gratitude to Simon. Androkkid is SO much easier to configure and use.
BUT the graphics on TouchOne are so gorgeous to compare with Androkkid's blocky icons. Could Androkkid's graphics be cleaned up, or would that eat up too much RAM?

I think my Androkkid screen looks just fine:D

It's not a theme it's an app and what you see is the homescreen. But it's a wonderful app and I still use it at the same time as Androkkidd and run both apps simultaneously as you can see in my WKTasks taskbar in the following screenshots from today:
Ps just let me add in all modesty ;)that it's my icons you see on the screens

I'll second that thought. The alternatives either aren't as interesting or have a long way to go to catch up. When I used my Treo Pro, I alternated between Manila 2D & Androkkid. On my Tilt2, I pretty much stay in Androkkid 24/7. There are some interesting things in Titanium, TF3D is built in, but I can get Androkkid to work pretty much the way I do.

If you do decide to continu Androkkid development, here's my wishlist:
- landscape support
- transparent graphics
- less power consumption (a while ago I deactivated Androkkid for a weekend because I had no way to charge my device, and there was quite a difference in power consumption)
- possibility to run Androkkid in the Today screen
- a locking mechanism (kinda like S2U2) would be nice as well
If you decide not to continu development, I hope you'll let us know as well. But I think it'll be hard to find someone to continu development if you should decide to make the source available (I guess it would be the end of Androkkid, which would be a real shame). If the decreasing number of posts (just about none lately) on the XDA Androkkid threads are a success indicator (and I've seen traffic going down on my site (http://tinyurl.com/wmdsoft) as well), Androkkid could do with a re-animation... There's a lot of competition these days.

I'll agree with all your wish list. Especially the landscape mode. Androkkid is not a finished product without it.
As for the lower traffic, I think most are pretty happy with what's available with themes, widgets & functionality. You can't ask for what you don't think of. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one whose schedule has gotten busier. But, if others are like me, I lurk a couple of times a day to see what's new.

Don't forget that most of your start menu is available from the bottom pull-up menu. The rest can be accessed via special shortcuts, widgets, etc. If there are specific things you need to access, mention them here & maybe we can give you ways to do that.

Hi, Simo. When I first started using Androkkid, I had the WM taskbar showing to access some features & functions not otherwise available. Between updates to Androkkid, widgets & external apps, I can now pretty well access everything I need to. So, I run Androkkid without a taskbar. Once or twice a day, something pops up the taskbar for no obvious reason. The only way to get rid of it is to open, then close any app. It's a minor annoyance but it'd be nice if it didn't happen. It's been happening for awhile. I've only seen this with the most recent version of Androkkid, but I've only been going without a taskbar in this version. So, I'm not sure if it's new to this version or a carryover from previous versions.
Since, you might be switching to other things, figured I'd mention it before it was too late. With that fixed & Dirk's feature requests (especially landscape support), Androkkid would be pretty complete.

Is it possible to make an Androkkid xperia panel?
I mean, like this:
[Panel]Titanium, Sense/TF3D, SPB Mobile Shell Launcher
What will these do?
These panels will convert your Titanium interface, HTC Sense/TouchFlo3D and SPB Mobile shell into panel.
What are benefits of using these?
There are 2 major benefits:
1. Easy changing between interfaces
2. Better performance and stability of device because you have only one interface loaded at a time.
How to install it?
1. Scroll to bottom of this post to attachments
2. Download these files
3. Copy them to device
4. Open files with file manager and installoriginal post by matejdro

Task manager = "26#:MSTASKMGR?:taskmgrapp" (without the quotes, use as contents for taskmanager.txt, then rename to taskmanager.lnk & create an Androkkid shortcut to it). There's also a running task widget.
There are several widgets (WMDProfile & WMDClockPlus) that inlude the option to cycle between speaker on, vibrate & silent.
As for "remove programs", etc. in the system settings, I don't know of anything in Androkkid that does that. However, I found an app called xTask (right here on xda-developers) that does task manager stuff, shows running processes & apps, & allows access to the control panel stuff (system settings, personal settings, connections, etc.). Because it is so jam packed with capabilities, it's a little complex & takes a bit of getting used to. But it's truly a thing of beauty.
As for not wanting to put a lot on your home page, don't forget that you can have as many pages as you need & can put whatever you need wherever you need. But I wasn't talking about that. With bare WM, depending on which version you have, there's a start button at the top or bottom left that accesses your menu. In Androkkid, the pull up tab is the same thing. But it's scrollable, strictly alphabetical, & only includes apps. You'll only see what's there if you pull it up.

The last one depends one your phone. I have a Tilt2, AT&T's version of the Touch Pro 2. I just hit the hardware call button & it'll bring up the dialer & your most recent calls (both inbound & outbound). The center button on the bottom bar toggles whether the dialer covers part of that list or not. That's one feature that Pointui does nicely. It has an onscreen button to bring up a call history list that shows inbound & outbound, etc. separately & gives a total count. It's not a feature I use much, but it's a nice touch. I would imagine that could be done with a widget. Or there may be an app that does that.

I just remembered another one. This version includes folders, but you can only use the included folder icon. The next version is supposed to include the ability to select the icon for each folder. There are icon sets with lots of choices for folders. I'd really like to be able to differentiate the nature of each folder.

I posted this on post 985-987 of this thread. It is a roundabout way of doing this, and a future release where this can be done in a much more straight forward manner would help.
So instead of searching for the thread, here it is:
You actually can change the folder to an icon that you chose. It is actually a roundabout method of doing this.
1. Add the folder icon.
2. Drag the folder icon to the edit.
3. on the "Type" pull down, change it to "Normal"; after you do this, the "Image" line should no longer be greyed-out. You should be able to point it to any icon you have saved on your device.
4. After you selected the image, change the "Type" pull down back to folder, hit "ok" and you are done.
Keep this in mind. You have to start this with a folder icon -> normal icon -> folder icon.
DO NOT start with normal icon -> folder icon!!! This will cause Androkkid to crash and resets your setting.ini file (I learned this the hard way)
And as a precaution, I would make a copy of the setting.ini file so that all the work put in to arrange the Androkkid is not lost.
Hope that helps.

When you run Androkkid, go into settings. One of the checkboxes is for Androkkid starting with WM. It'll restart, after you save your settings. Then, the next time you start your phone, it should automatically start.

We seem to be getting a new batch of people finding Androkkid. And, sometimes, just telling them to search through the 109 pages in this thread is not the kindest or friendliest way to get someone the info they need. So, here's a very brief requested review of using special shortcuts & setting up an email link.
1) In the first message in this thread, there's a file attached called shortcuts.txt. Download that file. Each line is a special shortcut that will function in Androkkid.
2) To use one of those shortcuts, either copy & paste the line you want into Notepad on your computer or open shortcuts.txt in Notepad & delete all the other lines. You then want to save that with a filename that will help you recall what function it will perform. So, an email link (if you're only doing one email account on your phone) might be saved as email.txt. You can then rename it to email.lnk & you have your link file. I keep all my special link files in one folder on my phone, so I know where to find them.
3) Our email example. The generic shortcut line is 20#"\Windows\tmail.exe"-service "ActiveSync" . When you set up your email account, if it's one of the email services like Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail, your phone will set up an appropriate set of folders & parameters. Whatever the name for that service is will replace ActiveSync in the quotes. Once you have the email link created & modified to your account, put it on your phone. With Androkkid running, tap & hold the page you want that link to show on. Tap the first menu item (Add...), then choose Shortcut. Navigated to your file "email.lnk" & choose it. That'll get you an envelope link on your desktop that can be moved to wherever you want it. Drag that to the edit box on the left side of the bottombar. This will open an editing box. Notice the "Type" window is labelled Normal. That state allows the link to access your email, but nothing else. That dialogue box has a list of choices. In this case, you want to select Mail, then tap OK on the bottombar. The email link will be back on your phone's desktop where you want it, but now has the ability to display a count bubble of the number of unread emails.
4) Other links can be fashioned in similar manner. Some may require installing a particular app to get a specialized function. Having already said it's not friendly or helpful to make you read all 109 pages of messages, now I'm going to suggest doing just that, along with the accompanying Theme & Widget threads. There are lots of helpful tips & hints spread throughout, plus themes, widgets & icons. It's worth the time & effort. Androkkid is about the most flexible UI I've seen to get it to look & work just the way you want your phone to be. So, have fun!

I have another feature request for Simo or one of the Androkkid platform developers. Teacher1960 & others have created some pretty neat icon sets that work well in Androkkid. But, each time you change themes, the only way to change icons is manually...one at a time. I'd bet there are lots of us who don't have any more time to do that than I do.
I thought of two ways that could be done. One is on the settings page where the theme is specified -- include an option to specify the icon directory that you want to use. The other would be for a developer to create an app or script to copy a whole set of icons to a specified folder. As long as the icons in all sets use the same icon names, I'd expect recycling Androkkid with a new theme should then display whatever set has been copied to the icons folder. In any case, shortcuts that haven't been given a custom icon should still be able to display the app's own icon.

I was using iTask for a long time but finally came over to Androkkid. I found I was able to use all my icons with increased functionality. The only problem I have found so far is that the QVGA weather widgets don't look good. <see below>
If anyone has an information for making the weather look better I am all ears.
The only other app that I haven't had time to find is a good RSS Reader. I could just use IE but iTask actually had a nice RSS Reader that I liked and I was hoping for something similar.
Anyway this is a great app and I look forward to following this thread.

I have a question for all Androkkid users... I have a icon set up on the home page that is set up under type as "phone" and the link is set to the iContact recent page. The icon works great until I have a missed call. When a missed call comes in and the icon shows the little bubble indicating the missed call, when I hit the icon to view the number it opens to the standard missed call list and not the iContact recents page.
How can I fix this..Any help would be great!
Thanks

Where'd you get that weather widget essequamvideri7? Mine didn't come preinstalled with it. Also, when I open my messaging app (HD2 messaging) it won't show because androkkid stays on top, any solution, or another app to use instead maybe?

never been able to successfully use androkkid (any version). It will always crash after some period of time for this reason or that reason...
i've installed to device memory, plenty of room for stuff to work etc..
I would use androkkid if it didn't crash and if it's icons were not fuzzy :D
just sayin..

Androkkid is an Android-like UI for WinMo. So, if you're running it & have a Matrix theme or wallpaper, you should be fine.

I installed the Android UI and it looks really sweet. However, I was having a really tough time with functionality using it. Once I got all the icons arranged the way I wanted on my HTC Touch Diamond, I simply couldn't get the majority of my programs to work properly.
I think I'm going to try once more just to make some adjustments.
Great job on the app though.

I love this shell so much. The loading screen gets annoying though. You should try and pretty it up a bit. Also a convenient task switcher/manager that maybe drops down from the top bar would be IDEAL (i currently use QuickMenu. their is also TMan). Right now i have been minimizing Androkkid to use QuickMenu from sense to switch between tasks. I tried WMD-TaskManager (a great program) but isnt nearly as convenient as having a menu always available from top bar even if a program is on the screen
In fact. If QuickMenu was integrated into this, i would have no reason to use sense at all

Why not have a look at ShowCase (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530564), it's a great task switcher you can access via the top bar and add a shortcut to it in Androkkid...

There are shortcuts for email & sms in the shortcuts.txt file attached to the first message in this thread. Each line goes in its own file, named whatever you want, edited in a text editor. Then, rename whatever.txt to whatever.lnk, add a shortcut to that file & change type from normal to the appropriate type.
Or, if you use Dirk's WMDClock+ widget, all those are part of the widget...just select the ones you want to use by editing the widget's settings file (also a text file). I have voicemail, email, sms, battery, audio profile, & missed calls on mine. Since the widget uses smaller icons for these functions, it also frees up some page space.

I love this UI. My only problem is that it constantly crashes stating:
Error
An unexpected error has occured in Androkkid.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program.............
Method not found. IsInstanceOfType
Syschem. Type.
Then if I click on Details it says:
Androkkid.exe
MissingMethodException
Method not found. IsInstanceOfType
System. Type.
Then if I click on Quit, similar worded error messages pop up maybe 8 to 10 times
Then if I wait a while it will ask if I want to close Androkkid and if I select No or wait, the message pops up again and I have to keep hitting quit about 8 to 10 times before the error messages disappear. Even after all that when I restart Androkkid or even after rebooting my phone, I can still have the same issue over and over again.
Another error message I get says:
MissingMethodException
at
Androkkid.Start.Start_MouseUp(Object
sender, MouseEventArgs e)
at
System.Windows.Forms.Control.................
etc. etc.
BTW this is installed on my Samsung Omnia II (SCH-i920) with stock WM 6.5.
Any hints, tricks or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

jjdavola, are you using any Androkkid widgets that use Mortscript (Goraps Weather, WMDClock or WMDClock+)? That's what usually gets that result because they're not properly initialized. Assuming that's the case, do you have Mortscript installed? You need to:
1) find & install Mortscript 4.2.
2) before starting Androkkid, use a file manager to navigate to each widget folder that includes a mortscript script & tap the script to initialize it.
3) then restart Androkkid.
Every time you're going to add a widget that uses a mortscript script, you need to initialize the script before you add the widget to an Androkkid page. Otherwise, you'll crash Androkkid.

I am not using any of those widgets, but I do already have Mortscript 4.2 installed on my Omnia II.
Since this crashing is getting bad and then when it doesn't crash the + and ^ buttons often don't work after a while, it looks like I'm going to have to go look for something more reliable and updated. :(

If you search for Samsung devices in this thread, you'll find that there's a problem with Samsung devices and Androkkid. So, you'll probably have to look for an alternative. I've listed some on the home page (http://tinyurl.com/wmdsoft) of my site, if you're interested.

Hello,
Firstly, thank you for some fine programs for WM devices. I have been
using Androkkid for a long time and it has been fairly stable.
However, in the last two days, it has seriously affected my HTC Vogue.
It was necessary to uninstall it to regain normal function.
I'm running WM 6.1 and S2U2
First issue: When I unlocked the device, the S2u2 lock screen would dislay for a moment, then mmediatley go blank by itself. A second attempt unlocked the device normally.
Second issue: The phone icon for phone.ink would not activate the
dialer screen. I tried to recreate the screen icon, soft reset, and
complete pwoerdown to no avail. Occasionally, other icons would stop functioning, but recreating the pathway restored function.....except for the dialer.
I uninstalled S2U2 to verify if it caused the the issues. The issues
continued.
Third issue: I uninstalled Androkkid and the issues disappeared.
Therefore I tried to reinstall the software. At first the device
reported that installation was unsuccessful, but after a second try,
Androkkid installed, but the issues repeated themselves.
I had no other choice but to remove Androkkid with the Remove Programs,
then delete the Androkidd from the device. The device has
returned to its normal functionality.
Do you have any idea of what went wrong? For the whole time S2U2 and
Androkidd were on the device, they played nice together. Prior to
Androkidd, I had used Ifonz without issues.
Could it be a corrupt NetCF? Any help you can provide to get Androkkid
working again will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I am trying to set up Androkkid on my Acer M900 running wm 6.1.
I try to add Messsging Icons for my mailbox, unreaded SMS and Missed calls.
I am getting the red babble with the number and when I press the Icon, I am
getting to the messages and not, for example, to the list of the missed calls or
to the unreaded SMS, how can I fix it?
I try to add widget, I get the new ones on the list and when I try to set it up.
I am getting only an empty Icon, the build in widget are working fine any clue?

Installed Androkkid two weeks ago and use it all the time since then on a htc touch2 running wm6.5.
However, I am missing a couple of touchflo widgets. I realize that it is impossible to include them as a widget in Androkkid and that for most of them there is an alternative in Adrokkid.
Can these touchflo widgets be launched as a program (e.g. the weather widget)?

It sounds like you are trying to change the icons of the folder-type. I originally posted this on #985, but instead of having you search for it, here it is. Read it carefully, so that you do not lose your androkkid settings.
You actually can change the folder to an icon that you chose. It is actually a roundabout method of doing this.
1. Add the folder icon.
2. Drag the folder icon to the edit.
3. on the "Type" pull down, change it to "Normal"; after you do this, the "Image" line should no longer be grey-out. You should be able to point it to any icon you have saved on your device.
4. After you selected the image, change the "Type" pull down back to folder, hit "ok" and you are done.:)
