Hi,
I have read a lot of topics about my problem but I haven't found a solution.

I'll explain my problem:
I have successfully flashed a samsung i780 with the Heroes WM6.1 Final ROM using mirage 1.8.

The phone works well for a couple of days, but one day it crashes and I perform a soft reset. It reboots normally but the dispaly shows the touch screen calibration and the contacts are disappeared. So I think "This seems to be an hard reset!!" and it happens a couple of times.

The last time it crashes the battery was very low. So I shut down the pda and I connect the charger, but the red led doesn't turn on.

With the portable charger the battery charges without any problems, but when I insert the battery, the i780 doesn't power up.

I try every combination: fn + alt + power / power + red and green buttons / power + '9' button. The pda still dead and mirage cannot detect it.

Somebody can help me?

Thanks a lot and sorry for my english.

@ironeagle
The device goes completely dead and you cant put it to bootloader mode, or anything at all for that matter. The device goes COMPLETELY DEAD - literally! The service guys told me it was a mobo failure.

@sfrangebob
I think inertiax did mention somewhere that someone was able to revive it using jtag interface. But for that you need to hack in at hardware level and flash the chip directly. This is risky and has no assured outcome!

let us know what happens....best of luck

it's not a problem for me hacking in the hardware level. I have a lot of experience in consoles (and electronics devices) hardware hacking, but I have to discover more about this jtag method.

Wich jtag adaptor should i use and wich software?

Where can I find this information?

Thanks a lot.

The biggest problem is to find JTAG testpoints for the i780. I have no idea how to find this, and it was only inertiax who had mentioned someone who had successfully used JTAG to revive a dead i780...so i'm guessing he should know where the jtag test points are located. Once you have that, i guess you can borrow the process from that of any other device as it should be more or less the same.

You can see this post -

You can download i780 sevice manual on the internet and find out the jtag test points.But there are two types of jtag test points on the mainboard.

perhaps this may fix up ...
took out / in the battery for several times ... do it quickly :)
then try to turn it ON ...

I got the same problem as you ...
but mine when I took out the battery or turn OFF,
it cannot be ON later...
so I repeat the battery in/out several times and its work ...
