I was asking the same question to myself some weeks ago.
I did a lot of searching founding anything interesting.

Some users report better stability with 1.93 although the 1.40 seems still the most reliable.
I am stuck to 1.40, feeling happy with it and lazy to upgrade/test.

However, if someone could list the technical differences between these two versions it will be much appreciated.
