I put the phone in bootloader and then connect to PC. I thought the phone was then suppose to add a HTC diagnostic com port so I could connect QPST. But I get a Microsoft USB CE Device added. Am I missing something simple? SPL is SPL-1.1.JockyW.

Got it. Hold green send then hit power button. Thread can be closed.

The green send button

Is that the 'phone' button you mean? Nothing happens for me when I use your method...

After in diagnostic mode. I find com port with device manager. I use mtty and type GO2AMSS. Then close mtty. The qpst then sees the diagnostic port.

MTTY seems to be crashing whenever I open it if I try to type any text. I suspect its a Vista issue. but it doesn't work in compatibility mode or As Administrator. Maybe I'll try on my XP machine however Vista seemed to install the drivers beautifully on here and I have old MotoQ drivers on XP....

We'll see

Works fine on xp for me. I say you have computer problems.

I can see the phone in Control Panel on various COM ports, however when I add the ports to QPST config it still says "No Phone"....

That is why you have to use mtty and send the command. then the phone is reconized. Why do you want to get into qpst anyway.

I've cracked it! Well I say cracked it... Changing USB ports and being patient with MTTY was the key. Thanks!
