This doesn't seem to work for the herman phcanrc.dll. I'm trying different values right now.

I've tried 0x02000000, 0x01000000, 0x03000000, and 0x04000000. It doesn't seem to make a difference.

so i think you are in pretty good shape :) ideal would be to have 32mb free but im not sure that is even possible with 6.1 nk.exe? when you said you recmodded everything you can, you have to be carefull recmodding some stuff i know this from experience lol...just try to recmod the biggest modules i think you will be ok.

i guess my point is this....having no modules in slot 0 is ideal i guess if you have a native 6.5 nk.exe...but without 6.5 nk thats really not possible and have much of a rom. so when i see people posting in the thread without native 6.5 nk.exe and have module counts kinda high everyone automatically tells them that they need to recmod more modules to "solve" all of their problems(without doing any math) and i think that is wrong alot of the time. with wm6.1 nk.exe especially i think going by module count in slot 0 isnt the right way to go about it. example is that my kaiser rom(6.1 nk.exe) mem map shows 32 modules with 27mb of free space in slot 0....and it runs freakin perfect go check my thread :) where my raphael rom shows no modules in slot 0 but has roughly the same amount of free space in VM. so just because my raph rom shows 0 modules in slot 0 compared to my kaiser rom showing 32 does that mean its better? of course having 2 more mem slots with 6.5 nk is better but not everyone is so lucky to have the native nk.exe....why not do the math before we tell people they need to just "recmod" all the files they can ;) again if im wrong da_g plz correct me :)

Having a problem typing using 23034... I've disabled the magnifier but when I type, if I type too fast, there is a bit of lag and skips some letters. The only way I can use 23034 is to type slooowww. Anyone know of a fix/workaround?

I'm using the Asus P565, which has software called "Gester". Basically this provides finger-friendly functions for WM6.1.

Turns out that when I have this enabled, double-tapping/quick typing works. When I remove it from the ROM/disable it, it doesn't :(

This only started happening in recent builds! (23034+)

Yes, I forgot to mention that enabling/installing Gester disables the WM6.5 scrolling functionality :( Major downside! I think it's something to do with the OEM touch.dll for these devices. Obviously not playing well with some new feature of the newer builds...

Yeah, they made a Popcorn button on a microwave, that's pretty much how ervius made the kitchen... can't get much easier unless you have someone else push the button.

I live in a marvellous past where we didn't need to recmod almost all the SYS, where children play football in the street, the weather is always sunny, 32 hot skinny chics are waiting for you in your room...

Ok, I noticed what's going on with those Broken Themes with Gray Backgrounds. They are missing a lot of white entries in the following registries of the TSK's. First set is correct, second set is a Broken Theme example.

ThemeColors is a mirror to ThemeValue. ThemeValue is the Color used. ThemeColor is an ON/OFF switch. If you enter a value in ThemeValue, the same value position in ThemeColor must be changed to 01,00,00,00.

You can also try deleting BaseColor3="ffffff00" as these Grey colors are most likely coming from it.

Also, HKLM:System\GWE , DefSysColor has Gray values.

hi all, I wanna try get rid of the scrollbar in the dialer in Miri's wm 6.5 23037 test build by editing phcanrc.dll as explained here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4424416&postcount=2594

however encountering problem - the dumped phcanrc.dll from the rom is only 51.5kb instead of 113kb and not editable with Restorator. I also can't copy it off my phone using Resco Explorer... would someone be able to attach a working phcanrc.dll from that rom?

Yeah, the idea is... make another folder in oem/device with yours... then paste thre your OEM_lang_0409 and rename the lang id to yours then inside replace all the muis with your langs (take them from a dumped stock rom of your lang) and of course the initflash in your lang... set all the SYS lang folders i yours... and you are good to go!! well in theory.. caus ethe post 4 is not well xplained.

I did it and resault was a stuck in htc mobility screen.
I copy all contents of 0409 folder to 0408 folder, rename OEM_Lang_0409 to OEM_Lang_0408, put the initflashfiles there and overwrite the english one. Inside OEM folder there isn't any other 0409 file or folder to rename or translate. I realise that must create this folder, cause the 0408 language it's not available in kitchen elsewere.

I tried modifying my phcanrc.dll as per instructions by Alex (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4424416&postcount=2594), but can't seem to fix the scrollbar at the side. I've attached my original phcanrc.dll, can someone please try to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated, and you'd receive recognition when I post my next ROM.

Here's how to remove the extra scroll. For PhoneCanvas example.

Open phcanrc.dll with Restorator.
In the dialogues for your resolution add EXSTYLE = 0x02000000
(In the dialogues, ID starting with 8xxx. In dialogues MS, which begin with 22xxx no need to change)

Hi guys, this fix works too for the Athemus QVGA Dialer?
The Arthemus QVGA Dialer is a version of Windows default dialer with buttons more bigger and with better colors.
But because the bigger button appears the scrollbar in the side of dialer.
The cab had tapres.dll.0409.mui tat (I think) need that fix but I dont know in what dialogs made the fix.
Anybody tried.

This is your file, after editing is damage signature, I signed it "Sample Privileged Developer - Windows Mobile SDK", so the size of another.
You must specify which device is used your file, I changed the dialogues for 800x480 and 640x480, perhaps for your device, you must change and for 320x240
After copying to the device, enough make SoftReset

I'm using 23034 on my Fuze. My only problem is I'm not getting a GPS lock at all. I'm using all of the same EXT packages from my other releases but still no good. I don't see AGPS in the settings either. I've been following the thread and seen a few complaints about GPS not working but no real solution.

Any advice? perhaps I'm missing a driver file or something.

Yesterday,First i created a WM6.1.(worked).
Next i corrected Drivers and MSXIPKernel and insert a new sys WM6.5 21234.(worked).
Then i changed MSXIPKernel and insert a new sys WM6.5 23037.(working well).

EDIT: nevermind, fards attachment worked great after I signed it (thanks!). only bug seems dialpad doesn't minimise properly, gives a white space instead. Going to try fix Opera 9.7 now, the bookmarks page has the same scrollbar problem....

At last i succeeded.
Yesterday,First i created a WM6.1.(worked).
Next i corrected Drivers and MSXIPKernel and insert a new sys WM6.5 21234.(worked).
Then i changed MSXIPKernel and insert a new sys WM6.5 23037.(working well).

Which DLL did you edit? If it's the one with the Icon in the buttom bar in it, than it's not a signing issue. The Icon is showing.

Yeah, the build I'm using is supposed to be the latest Leo ROM build available at the moment, so I guess I could look around for other blackstone rom builds and find one (hopefully) that matches the version I'm using.

EDIT: Ah, good old PhamQuang in PDAViet has a fixed phcanrc.dll that works with Miri's Test 23037 build! Problem solved :)

Try replacin 2 from his "fix" with 4. I am not sure, but maybe his fix was QVGA? If so, maybe the # needs to be doubled? Just a thought.

Luckily for me PhamQuang @ PDAViet used the same version as Miri, so it's all good now.

yeah, that would be an issue. You have to make sure you are using the dll from the version of Phone Canvas you are using. Same goes for a lot of DLL's like taskservice.dll for the HTC Task Manager. The bmp in it that looks like a black dot is the background btw.

I know HTC did away with that option a while ago, so now MS has followed suit? I guess the manufacturers dont need another reminder 15 minutes later cause it dont matter if they're late or something :p I wish HTC would change their notification manager too. I went through a whole ordeal a while ago trying to get someone to help add a snooze option to new notification managers.

on a lighter note, has anyone tried the Collapse Chaos from Topaz rom? Its a pretty fun game ;) And you cant beat free. Does anyone know what JuiceCaster is?

This fix must not work with this version of the HTC dialer. I pulled this one from the lastest alltel rom update. Will you please post your version of the dialer. If so, I'll use that one in my rom.

I couldn't tell you want version of the HTC Phonecanvas for the Rachael I'm using as I've been using it for a while. I believe it is the latest official version from 5.11

Anyway, it works great. I've been using 23034 for a while now and I've never experienced scrollbar issues that I've noticed.

I've asked several times about GPS issues. I'm reusing all of my same EXT packages from 23016 when GPS worked. I haven't added any extra modifications so I don't know why I can't get a GPS signal. I'm running an AT&T fuze. I know there were some other users with GPS issues but oddly enough, searching this thread for GPS yeilds no results. I don't see AGPS in settings either... anyone else?

On my Fuze, the G-Sensor and Lock worked out of the box. I started with the full kitchen release of 23016 then dumped over 23034. For me, everything works as it did with 23016 except I have the new UI interface and a non-working GPS.

I don't think i've ever had much luck with the sensorsdk4 package... I mean I've gotten it working but that auto rotation feature is annoying. The sensor packages Da_G included with his "Full" kitchens work the best. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

The only thing I liked was when using the software input panel making it easier to type. I think in a browser app it would be great but not in anything else.

For icon settings, look at 3rd post of topic. You should apply icons by registry values.

I'd say just change the icon with Reshacker (google it). It's pretty easy to do. Just open the .exe with Reshacker and swap out the icon with whatever you want and you'll never have to worry about it again. At least until 1.7.0001 comes out, lol.

or you can just store all of your icons in their own dll and map the shortcut to the pic in dll you want and exe it goes with :) then when new versions come out all you have to do is trade .lnk files ;)

are you using the correct sensor driver with the latest sdk ?
I use the one from the first working topaz beta that works with the HD.. all I do is drop the dll into the new sdk pkg and it works fine.

Yeah, maybe it's the fact we have to use old GAC's to make ATFavPeople work that's currupting those images. I just noticed if I used the Pictures on my Storage Card it was fine, but if any pictures came from that directory, they'd be screwed up. The App copies your images there & reformats them to JPG. Something in that process is screwing them up in these newer builds.

What are you talking about? This is about ATFavPeople, not the Start Menu so the Start Menu CPR's have nothing to do with it. Also, the CPR layouts have nothing to do with the distortion of ATFavPeople. It's a simple fix. Set up ATFavPeople as you normally would. Then, use a registry editor or CHome Editor by Showaco to manually edit the Contact Picture registry entries in the ATFavPeople plugin. Point it to new untouch images of the contacts you want to use. The Plugin by default copies & convert what ever Contact picture you are using & sets the registry to read that new image. The app is causing a image format curruption which than causes the distortion. If you just manually rewrite the image paths to your image you'll be fine.

NOTE: I am not sure, but the original images may get corrupted by the app as well. It is best to not set your contact pictures in the Contact app till after setting up ATFavPeople. This way it doesn't currupt those images or you may need to replace them. I did so much trying to get this fixed that I ended up replacing all my images on my SD Card & am not sure if that was needed in the end.

NP, that's was my problem at first. Have to make sure the images were never touched by ATFavPeople I am guessing. Therefore it's best to keep 2 copies of the images. One set you don't mind getting currupted as they will & one set that you use for this fix.

Looks interesting. That might be what the doctor ordered. Their site says it only rotates when the app detects FIRM moves vs having it go crazy in your hand or pocket. I also like how no apps are enabled by default and that learning new apps is a simple process:

"In order to make Zensor learn a new application (and whether to rotate it or not), simply move the device firmly from a face up position to an upside down position."

I'll install the cab and test it.

actually, i noticed that internet explorer also rotates properly. i just dont trust what it has on its list of programs, even when i add them myself it doesnt properly rotate...

really wish i could get this working. its less critical right now, on a raphael that manually rotates when the keyboard is out, but when i get my warhawk, you'd bet i want it to g-rotate...

I hadn't even tried IE, but you are correct, it does in fact also rotate. I also noticed that if you close an app that rotates in a particular orientation, everything will stay in that orientation until you either reopen an app that allows you to rotate, or open Phone, which apparently always restores the device back to Portrait.

I have an extensive list of apps set up in the registry for auto-rotation, and I keep G-Config in my ROM just in case I find any new ones (or if a Window Class Name has changed), but no matter how I do it, nothing is working besides the browsers. There must be some OS explanation for this. Of course, I have no idea what it could be. It's a bit of an annoyance, to be sure, but not completely intolerable. I just wish I knew how to fix it. Is anyone that's using a newer Sensor SDK version having these issues? Or is this issue related to the fact that the version we're using has been ported for our device?

Xip goes in the rom folder; it should just be the msxipkernal. You will need to re-number your oemxipkernal folders (just one or two, I think). If I were you, I'd back up your older kitchen first in case you screw up. Then just merge the new sys and xip into the old kitchen and pray. Look for rgb-rgb's tutorial. There really isn't that much to it.

Just in case FT's post wasn't clear enough for you, here's exactly how I do it:
First, close VK if you already have it open.
Open the rar file, and drag & drop the "23403" folder into the "SYS" folder of your VK. Wait until the extraction & copy process is complete.
Navigate to the "TOOLS" folder of your VK, and look for the "xip.bin_new", "xip.bin_old", & "xip_new_ported" folders. Make sure that the contents of all of these folders is deleted (DO NOT DELETE THE ACTUAL FOLDERS!!).
Drag & drop the "xip.bin" file from the rar file into the "xip.bin_new" folder.
Open VK.
Click the "Xipporterex & Rom Tools" button.
Check the "Is an AKU-5 'XIP' !!! (WM6.5)" box.
Uncheck the "Execute Cert Patcher!", "Execute PP Patcher", and "Change PP to Mb" boxes.
Click the "Port IT!!!" button.
Once complete, the 23403 XIP should already be selected. You should also be able to select 23403 from the SYS dropdown.

They can be deleted. They do have layout in them though that you may want to look at as Titanium does not have all CHome plugin enabled that Sliding Panels had, CMessageCenter/Notification aka CHome/etc.

NOTE: there are tons of CHome CPR's around. Remember AppStar made the app that injects the layouts into CPR's. Originally the only way to add new layout was to make completely new CPR's. SlidingPanels is Microsoft's original CPR's (BronzeListView), Titanium is their new CPR's (TitaniumListView). Also, there are HTCSlidingPanel_240x320.cpr in some roms including in the T-Mobile Dash 3G. So the extra CPR's don't matter, but may be usefull as noted above.

I use the one from the first working topaz beta that works with the HD.. all I do is drop the dll into the new sdk pkg and it works fine.

You know, I wonder if this whole Custom Plugin animation bug has to do with CHome having VGA support now. CHome came from 6.1 Smartphones, which to my knowledge are all QVGA. Ever notice it doubles image size like it's trying to display VGA. Can anyone confirm this bud exists in VGA device & if it shrinks or expands the image if it does exist.

Can anyone tell me why i cant select a different ringtone in sounds and notifications ??.. whenever i select a different tone or even select 'Vibrate and Ring' and then press ok... it reverts back to "Ring" profile and the same default tone gets selected back and also sounds and notification screen does not close.. it just stays there no matter what... then only option is resetting the device.. what is the problem??.. i have even attached a small video of it.. when i try to set the ringtone from audio manager.. i get this error..

It sounds like you've included a LockstreamDRM package in your ROM without adding the necessary registry entries to the boot.rgu. Either remove the package completely (unless you really need it), replace with DiscretixDRM, or add the necessary entries to the boot.rgu (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3651050&postcount=3980)

wow, thats not my font either. whats going on here? that first screenshot looks like cleartype enabled on the soft buttons. dddrko's looks like tahoma while mine looks like tahoma bold, neither with cleartype.

23041 seems to be ALOT better :D only thing i dont understand is i dont have the taskbar drop-down anymore? when i press the taskbar i get the notifications screen where with other builds i got the drop down. also the volume is mapped to hard buttons again, but the volume popup is old style not like new volume control.

i still have the taskbar dropdown, but i have to use the stylus to click on it, my fingers are fat. same as previous builds, except i had the volume keys to bring it down before. re: volume applet, are you talking about htc's volumecontrol? i'm getting the same applet i've had all along in COM4 (looks like plain old WM6 but bigger and the bullets look rough and ugly)

your bottom buttons... are now a 4th style... its gotta be something in OEM or EXT since we are all on the same SYS.

I tend to agree, too many changes that would make me believe it's real. Replacing images with better quality images/replacing CHome to fix some of the buggines as you stated in the PM/the settings text not getting cut off all that makes it look real & seem like too much trouble for a simple hex edit fake.

I really really like this build.

Volume key works (ok MS vol control only HTC doesnt work) so it's a bit ugly but hey it works!

Hmmm. So the old Volume controller is being used AND the hardware buttons behave normally? Well that sucks! The old stock volume control would change volume on a single press meaning that accidental presses would change your profile from silent to vibrate to low volume.

The best solution would be to have a similar mock up of 23034 and 23037 with 1 change. A single press of the volume controls brings up the "Quick menu". A double press emulates a Dpad Up/Down. What they need to do is emulate a Vol Up/Down on double tap. This would solve everything and allow In-Call volume to be changed without having to go through the Quick Menu and using the slider control.

If MS went back to the old Stock Volume control and HTC Volume Control doesn't work... then this is no go for me. I keep my phone completely on Vibrate which sits between low ringer and silent. The old volume interface ALWAYS left me missing calls and messages.

I tried SetVolume 0.6.1 but found it too unreliable for daily use.

I still dont know what you guys are talking about. The volume control applet has not changed since I first bought a WM6 PDA, other than recently the window itself has grown larger, with the same options and controls. Are you mistaking HTC "VolumeControl" for an MS app?

I still dont know what you guys are talking about. The volume control applet has not changed since I first bought a WM6 PDA, other than recently the window itself has grown larger, with the same options and controls. Are you mistaking HTC "VolumeControl" for an MS app?

I have a Fuze, and HTC Volume Control does not work. It worked in all previous builds.

Also, I am able to change the Volume level while the phone is locked (and I use a PIN lock).

as for the volume keys during lockscreen, it seems to be fuze specific, and i'm assuming you guys are using da_g's modified keypad.dll - have you tried the original?

As far as volume keys during lockscreen issues go, I am having the issue as well on my cdma diamond, so I don't think its tied to da_g's modified keypad.dll. However the fact that there are one's here without the issue would imply that it is not the sys, but rather some tweak we are doing to it ourselves. What about addons like Audio Manager or Audio Booster? I also use setvolume but I've uninstalled it and soft reset, and I'm still having the issue so I don't think thats it.

okay asking for some help guys, using a cdma touch diamond. Cooked many roms with buildOS, but finally this new SYS/ROM came out wanted to jump to that, seems like its getting more stable now. Anyways thought now would be a good time to use the new ervious kitchen, i tried to cook it, checked off what i wanted, cooked it and downloaded it to my device, however for some reason my device is stuck at the main "bios" screen.

Any suggestions, not sure what i did wrong. Only thing i can think of, was the DEVICEID to LANG weren't showing up, so i just clicked on DEVICE and it said something about default configurations and i said okay. I'm assuming this is where the issue could be???

i have eten m700 phone
i cooked a light rom
no packages included other thann Comm_Manager 2 from Rugal envirus kitchen.. i have used this with 23037 and lockscreen worked perfectly

i actually think this is MS stuff conflicting with some OEM stuff and i doubt it is coming from packages or cabs because i dont have any

well yeah thats the theory. would you send me your oemdrivers and oem_lang_x to peek at (or at least their rgu's)

juicy47 confirms inoperable volume keys when locked, so so far the list of users who do not have a problem are all on CDMA touch pros...

I think you dont set A folder called for your device anywhere... maybe in OEM cause is the first folder that the kitchen use to set DEVICEID dropdown menu. re-readthem and go folder by folder seeing if its right set!

i will check and recheck, but yes DIAM500 is set up. I'm using indagrooves sprint kitchen. The only thing i changed was the fact that i added in the new SYS/ROM folder from the latest build.

I'm having the same problem at the moment. Stuck at device boot screen. Looks like it might be something in the MSXIPKernel as I have already recooked using a different SYS with the same results. Reflashing againn at the moment with 23041 Sys and 23037 MSXIPKernel to see if I can get past the boot screen.

Yup, using 23037 MSXIPKernel and 23041, it went on past the boot screen. Redownload files and will redump XIP.bin to see if that solves it.

How to put a clock and alarm settings like it was before (i mean i just used a stylus moving around a clock to set a alarm time?) i dont remember in what number of ROM it was, sorry
Is there a chance to change to HTC volume settings like in 23037?
Where i can find descriptions what is where in folders and how i can change it to my own.

No, not yet, I redownload the files, dumped the xip.bin and recrated the 23041 MSXIPKernel but no lock, still stuck at the device ID boot screen.
