ALL CPR's & QVGA Fixed + DragonWorld Blk&Red Theme for Build 23409
I fixed the QVGA Classic Blue theme & Pivot BG as well as replace Pivot Arrows with better graphics (IMHO). Also, I fixed all CPR's (Start Menu & Titanium/Lockscreen was already fixed) for the BG offset of the new smaller TopBar which has yet to be done in these new build packages. The attched ZIP includes the CPR's in a ZIP & a CAB that install both the Fixed Classic Blue & my Theme.

hey drk! 23049 or 23409???? :p
BTW do you have any idea on how the OS or reg keys makes the softkey or taskbars semitransparent? i mean if you can remember.... the oldest versions of wm6.5 has this bars a lil more..... Trasnparent, not so dark...
I have this idea due to the format issues that many people has and they need to redo their blacksoftkey bar and blacktaskbar images to the plain png full black or flat black to get the transparencie a lil dark... but i guess if this could be set Full transparent... Just my imagination i tho... :p

It's for 23409, the transparency is controlled by the cmhome.dll. I have not seen any reg to edit this. The only work around I have seen but not tested is using full transparent or partial transparent PNG's. Another workaround is using a PNG that is the bottom 34 pixel of your background & top 18 pixels, but this causes distortion in Landscape as the bars only use 1 image. If you want solid bar, you add the bar images to the top & bottom of your backgrounds. This works nicely as you see in my theme. Still have some tweaking to perfect my theme though, but won't do that till final build. Going to redo my scrollbars & some other images & will probably make a few different color variations when that time comes like Blk&Blue & Blk&Grn.

The pivot background for QVGA devices displays white because the size of the background image is incorrect (too large), and somehow the operating system doesn't seem to be able to shrink it.
The pivot arrows on this build (just like in previous builds) look like unfinished work in progress.
I have put together a cab file to fix these issues. I cropped the original background to ensure that the colors and quality of the background image is identical to what Microsoft intended. The arrows are also Microsoft created, although they weren't meant for this particular area. I am pretty sure that the final build of WM 6.5 will include much nicer pivot arrows (perhaps double arrows like these >>). However since those arrows don't exist yet, I chose two Microsoft created arrows that are nicer looking than the unfinished arrows that are currently used in the 23409 build.
Below is a screen shot. If you like the solution you can download the cab file from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4469881&postcount=4)

Very nice drk.
Have you decoded the theme values in registry?
I mean each number of color what affects in the backgrounds.
I dig in to it and have decoded 3 values for backgrounds and noticed that many of the values reflect the color of the fonts in various screens etc.
I saw in your post that you have colored all the values but from the colors i cannot understand the screen that they affect and specifically which fonts in which screen, in the title, in the main script or else.
If you have riched to the end it should be very nice to share your results.
If not i can check some values among with others that are willing to check the rest.
I believe microsoft will release these codes with the final release but till then...
Also i noticed that you use 3 to 4 more white values to get rid of the grey background than classic blue tsk uses. Why is that?
Thanks for your great work and especially in the themes field.

I haven't checked which values is which, I just changed all the similar colors together. I added the extra White Values from what I found wasn't changing in certain theme's. If all broken Gry BG bug theme's add those white values, no more gry bg. To check the color values, I suggest changing one by one to say Grn & take notice to what changes. A lot of the values are known already from WM6 & WM5 Theme's.

If you view the Margins/Padding in Decimal format, they are in Pixels. >Reg uses Hex, but Registry Editors usually will display both. WinCE CAB Manager also displays both. I will always view them in Decimal so I know it's in Pixels.
Hex = F than Dec = 15 Pixels
Hex = C than Dec = 12 Pixels

I am needing some help rearranging my Start Menu...I have seen screenshots where everything is neatly filed in folders and want to do the same.
BUT...
how do I move shortcuts like Calendar, Phone, Internet Explorer and Widgets, etc to folders - is there a mortscript I could cook in to achieve this during customisation?
I already have a Tools folder and have created the necessary app.dat file to have the shortcuts where I want them for the apps I have included in my rom. But I want to also do the same for the SYS packages - I guess almost like a cut and paste to move them to where I want them.
If someone could help I would really appreciate it.
Also, when you set the icon to use a png file - do I need to reflect the path in the reg entry, or will it still be "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\[link or folder]"??

Search SYS for .provxml files. There are a few you need to change for shortcuts, you'll just have to check them. Put a copy in an EXT package to save time next time. You will need to either change the .provxml for Start icons or make an app.reg with the correct reg entries for icons.

Best 6.5 ROM yet. Thanks Da_G.
But I can't get to Cingular Video in IE or Opera 9.7b1. (My old Opera 9.5 cabs that had the proxy allowing connection to Cingular Video will install on 23409, but will not open). I have the hidden proxy installed. I changed Opera:config in 9.7b1 to match the 9.5 proxy and user agent settings that allowed connection to Cingular Video, but no luck.
Has anyone been able to get IE or Opera 9.7b1 to connect to Cingular Video? I miss Colbert and the Daily Show!
Update; Got it to work in Opera 9.7b1: Go to Preferences (type "opera:config" in the url block) under Proxy, type "wireless.cingular.com:80" for both HTTP and HTTPS Servers, then check Use HTTP and Use HTTPS, UNcheck the Opera proxys. Save changes.
Go down to User Prefs, then Customer User-Agent and type "HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)" Save changes.
Then exit Opera. Go to Setings-System-About and change the Device ID to ""HTC_4600"
Do not know if all steps are necessary, I just made the settings match an Opera set up that connected to Cingular Video.
Still can't connect to Cingular Video in IE.

I am needing some help rearranging my Start Menu...I have seen screenshots where everything is neatly filed in folders and want to do the same.
DT
Here are the main provxml's that I've run into that screw with your start menu. These are editted; I stick them in my zzz-files EXT package so they over-write the native ones. Depending on the kitchen/build, they may have different names. I don't use remote desktop, so the remote desktop provxml is blank. I deleted all of the Office shortcuts; I either install the shortcuts with a cab into a folder called 'Office Center' or I use a mortscript to copy the shortcuts from my sd card to the same folder during customization (leaning towards the latter approach now). A lot of the really annoying shortcuts that appear in the start menu root are in the start menu provxml. I deleted all of them from the provxml, except for the settings shortcuts. This all works with 23016; I can't tell you how it works with later builds. You can use these if you want, but it's probably better if you just look for the un-touched ones in either your \windows folder on your device or in the dump folder in your kitchen, and then edit them as you see fit. I highly recommend installing 2007 XML editor to edit them-it's a helluva lot easier than using notepad (google it; it's free on the microsoft download site).
Most of these are hidden; change your settings to view them (there are 5 total in the zip file).
I also edit out the annoying crap from initflashfiles.dat. Removing crap from the provxml's and initflashes.dat gives you complete control over the 6.5 start menu (well, I think there are two links I haven't found yet, so I delete them with a mortscript during customization). You can put your directory in the initflashfiles.dat or app.dat's (it's probably easier than using a provxml) as well as all your shortcuts. Remember to create your directory first before putting in the string command for the link.

I have understood that :
The more there are module replacing files, better is for the speed and the stability.
All right ?
That's why i have made a file to module for all my *.dll and *.exe on my OEM folders and PKG folders !
And it is very good :)

6.1 kernel cant handles lots of modules and make issues at messaging and things like that...thats why.. you need to recmod the modules to files to get a 6.1 kernel works for many modules... (coverted to files)Any idea of what the limit might be?
If someone knows it would help to have a specific count so we can check our kitchens and then reduce the number to that limit.

The limit isn't based on number of modules but the amount of memory taken up. And this will vary from device to device.

Read this. This will explain it more clearly to you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4268137&postcount=2I am still in WM6.1 let me know if I am getting this correctly.
It looks like I want to keep as many modules that are as close to increments of 64k without being larger(64, 128, etc.).
I want to limit the number to about 26 so I stay out of Slot 0 and leave room for kernel, etc.
All the rest should be files converted from their modules.
The number of modules in XIP have no bearing on these in SYS, correct?
One thing I noticed is my registry does not have [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Loader\ModuleInfo]
From the read, this seems important for efficiency. Anyone have a Wizard with WM6.1 and have the registry values I can get a list of to check into mine?

WM6.5 start menu is arranging by registry keys as Da_G said in third post. You can remove entries in mxipinit_startmenu_001.provxml and apply your desired arrangement by a app.reg file. I'm using this method for myself too.

OUT OF TOPIC:
i just got my new Sprint's HTC Touch Pro 2, so far so good with it but guess what there is no HSPL yet for me to flash a custom rom, build a kitchen and load WM6.5.x but there is a native kernel though, it doesn't include a holster or pouch neither a headset and it is running for the same price of the TP1, well i guess I'll try for 30 days and now with this new 23045 build I just cant wait to flash this beast.!

Guys and gals. For those who had issue with Titanium fonts and pictures on earlier builds - in 23045 - all issues totally fixed!
For 96 dpi guys:
Do not forget to add:
23045 (compared with 23409)
outres.XX.dll - added 10 bitmaps (resources from 12002 to 12011)
tapres.XX.dll added 2 bitmaps (resources 22556 and 22557)
shellres.XX.dll - no changes
I am not going to attach my edited stuff here because some guys are trying to blame me for kinda "non-transparency" of the added resources. Let them do that by themselves.

Those are not CHome bugs, those are bugs with the layouts & maybe too much scripting going on. I have edited CMultiClocks layout a lot & removed Apps/RSS from it & reduced the bug by alot. When we get a final build of this new GUI, I'll revamp my whole NeoTitanium Theme & clean up CMultiClock more. TitaniumWeather has no problems at all & is a custom plugin with a lot of images & text. Haven't tried JML Today yet, need to create layout for it with my theme.

Perhaps someone can help me out with my GPS. I have been cooking my own roms since 6.1 and this has me stumped. I've posted several times about it and I know most people's GPS's are working.
I lost my GPS since 23034 and every build to this point. I haven't added any new packages or anything. Simply updated the SYS and XIP. I've even built a new kitchen from scratch manually making all the folders and starting new. Everything else works great except my GPS.
Does anyone know which files are responsible for the GPS functions? Perhaps someone could post them here? I use my GPS for work often and need it working properly. I've tried several GPS apps and helper tools but none seem to do the job.

Look at the external GPS control panel: start, settings, system,External GPS icon. The [Programs] tab should have COM4. [Hardware] tab, don't care (it is dismissed anyway), Access tab, check off Manage Gps AUtomatically.
Make sure your application is using COM4, any baud rate will do (115200, is fastest :)
In OEMDrivers for Diamond I have GPSID_HTC.dll
In SYS GPSID module.
player911
9th September 2009, 06:32 AM
Thanks. That helps. Google Maps automatically scans for the comm port and it is set to com4. The programs find the GPS hardware no problem but just can't get a signal lock. I have all of those files as well as a "gpsdriver.dll" in OEMDrivers. Perhaps one of them are bad. I'll try extracting those from some of my older working kitchens and/or see if they are being overwritten by one of my packages. That will be a good start in my research anyway. Thanks so much.
btw, is anyone having problems launching the default MSAlarms app with 23045? It doesn't launch for at all via the titanium clock or through settings. Kinda "blimps" on the screen and crashes.

I dont know if it could be skinned like that because first... it will becomes transparent on today and start screens... then the buttons arent in the right arrangement they change its own pic size... the orb... i tho that the orb could work fine but not the images of the buttons, neither full transparent could be set at this ponit on the bars, but.. we can try anyways... so lets try 23045 with the 23041 com3 dpis...! :Dand see that images at button lock.
The transparent bar or buttons wouldnt be a problem, but a transparent orb would look really ugly... oh well, back to the drawing board.... Thanks for the info. :D

but nothing happens...
the display is freezing...only soft-reset helps or quickly change the home-screen to "windows dault" after new boot...
i have included as attachement my full (tre 0.90 registry excerpt) from my recent custom manila 2.1 build...
pleace notice:
before you check this file, i'am a newbie in the manila area...so may be a little problem...sorry but i found no information about this bug...
the second bug, "opera 9.7b1 crash on startup" is also avialable in my build...

I've tried several GPS apps and helper tools but none seem to do the job.
player – did you try a stock AT&T Fuze ROM (most recent) and did you get lock, if you tried. I also have a Fuze and I lock indoors in 20 sec. When I have issues I can’t figure out I will flash back to a stock ROM then flash a custom ROM.

That might be the solution I have to take. I've verified my drivers are in place and even tried replacing the drivers with some from an older working build. Still nothing. Again, the programs find the GPS hardware just fine but it just never gets a signal lock.
I had working GPS in my 23016 kitchen... but lost it when I added 23034 SYS/XIP. I haven't added or changed anything else since then besides the SYS/XIP. I even downloaded the latest kitchen and built it up from scratch and same result. I'm starting to think you might be on to something and/or my GPS hardware might just be bad.

GPS on 23045 is definitely working great; however, I find when I have unexplainable issue a flash back to a stock ROM clears the issue and this way player will know if there is a problem with his ROM of a hardware problem.

e-Natives Position Fix for new WM6.5x BUILDS
It was new enhanced previous ManilaPositionFix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4410250&postcount=1305). Now you can add Window Class to force resized into new WM6.5.x Work Area ( Manually on Registry ;) ).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=225592&stc=1&d=1252428731 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=225593&stc=1&d=1252428731
* It Will fix Any Manila TF3D (2, 2.1, 2.5)
* It will fix Resco Explorer
* Changing tab in Manila now works :D
* You can enable ManilaLaunchFix to prevent "Unable to Launch TF3D" on start up :D by changing "ManilaLaunchFix" reg value into "1"
You can customize Registry in this key:
HKCU\SOFTWARE\e-Natives Technology\WM65xFix
Default Registry on CAB:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\WM65xFix]
"ManilaLaunchFix"=dword:00000000
"WindowClasses"="Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS"
UNSUPPORTED WINDOWS CLASS (Know Bug)
* Don't Include Garmin Window into WindowClasses, It's not supported yet.
* Only supported for 192dpi ( Maybe will add support for 96dpi in next update )
* Please delete previous ManilaPositionFix
If you use/redistribution this file, please give me some credit :D at least point the link into this post ( you already know why I am do this :D )
can we please have this for QVGA ...please

the new oemxipkernel booted fine for me :) i used everything from new except boot.rgu.
for those whos rom wont boot, maybe try using your old boot.rgu and also try putting wince.nls in the oemxipkernel folder as well.
Delete DSM file and copy wince.nls from previous OEMXIPKernel from Da_G. :)
Thnx guys, will give it another go!
edit: your tips did the job! booting fine now! thnx!!

NOTE:

magnifier is enabled & sip is low hight (both can be fixed easily by a reg edit)
i also use my own edited layout for folders and icons..so make sure you change this file
mxipinit_startmenu_001.provxml in Base_lang_409
or your folder icons will be messed up
other wise all the same usual stuff...oh yes, i also changed some icons in Base_DPI_96 to add some color to main icons

If your talking about the misaligned icons I have this also on 23409 AND 23045. Only fix would be to use gwes.exe from working version(I cant remember last :( )

You need to put a - sign before the name, after the opening bracket [. For ex :
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\MyCpl\26]
That will remove the key.

From what ive heard 23045 is the latest newest, but its in a older COM, compared to 23049 which is in the latest COM. Still undecided which COM is more stable and better. I use UC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337
I don't install any software manually anymore, its all done after first boot. I even have it set up to put in all the registration codes. Takes about 20 minutes to flash a ROM and be ready to use device.
