Could anyone tell me: Are you using some software to recover everything what you got before flashing new ROM, i mean all application and other stuff if yes what it is, or after flashing you have to install everything again from new.
i am asking because for me it takes a lot of time to install GPS software and many other aplications
Uh, why don't you just cook everything into the rom? That's kind of the point, isn't it?

does anyone know if were gnna get that error we previously got with the kitchen screwing up the september month? or something like that? I think it was a couple builds ago we had problems. Also, if im not using a native 6.5 kernel, is this a simple drag and drop into my kitchen? Or is other stuff required like recmodding n else?

Check out XDA_UC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=525810&highlight=xda_uc). Much easier just drop the cabs in theXDA_UC folder and your done. Also, check out my little tool I have been slowly working on. It backs up a lot of personal settings and program info and autorestores it when cooked into your ROM :D I call it FlashBack (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3841452)
Uh, why don't you just cook everything into the rom? That's kind of the point, isn't it?
Although it is nice to have all of your programs cooked in, you have to keep in mind that every file for every program ends up in windows and for most also in program files. For some you can change them to run from windows and reduce the files, but with that many files in windows it is bound to slow it a bit at least when opening that folder ;) There are ways around this that dont involve cabs, but I wont get into that. Just thought I would mention the huge amount of files involved.
Buttons and checkmarks: I was hoping they would get to that. The originals are so ugly. Are these just .png files or are they in .dll? Thanks for the new build Da_G.

Not in submenus it isn't. Only on the home screen. If yours is, it is most likely because you did not flash a stock ROM in between to clear out any old settings/files that 23047 did not overwrite.

23047 is coming shortly, as soon as I get a chance to prepare it.
It (COM3) is (for the moment) the most up to date. That changes with the wind these days, however :)
DPI's, Langs, etc, will come, patience as usual :) Some interesting graphical changes, classic blue is certainly more.. blue:
(by the way, why doesn't my fuze look as nice as that skin in SOTI?!)

It looks like some of you have third party softkeyboards. I tried quit a lot but could not find a working one for WM6.5.x. Some of them don't even show up and the others can't be activated. :(
Which one is working? I need one for my Wizard (QVGA). German would be perfect for me (t9/xt9 is not so important).
A Phonepad style would be great because it is very fingerfriendly for my small display. If I need a full-size keyboard I can still use the hardware keyboard.
Waiting for 96dpi and german language files for 23047 :)

Hehehe yes it was a mui! in fact the shellres mui (attached) I have that mui in my oem so, the mui in the oem has been change some day to date i delete it... maybe next time a recook it was prettie good cause it will use the default in lang folders SYS... so if you have the mui in your ext or in your oem delete it... you can try to overwrite the mui attached and see if it works... is not winzip is 7zip so use 7zip to extract it.

I am using FingerKeyboard 2.1 on build 23045 with a QVGA Kaiser and it works perfectly. It supports most languages and you can easily switch from one version to the other.
Only problem that I have encountered is that if I am forced to do a soft reset (for example because an application freezes down), then I loose the ability to use the FingerKeyboard 2.1 even though I have assigned it as the default input method with SK Tools. It is impossible to use it after that, and I have to restore the pocket PC with spb backup to get it back to normal.
A soft reset that is not forced by a freeze does not cause that problem; the keyboard is set by default and works.

Since 23041 I've noticed that the expanded taskbar only pops down when you are on the home screen. Otherwise you can't seem to click on it or anything on it. I hope it's a bug because it's really annoying to not be able to access the bar from anywhere. Anyone know anything about this?

The mxipcold_wpc_2.provxml (loads the initial theme) file in SYS\base_dpi_xx_resh_240_resv_400 (base_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_400 on the omnia) has invalid syntax. It is missing a close quotation, which invalidates the xml file and prevents it from being read.

@ All QVGA device owners : If you dont apply any UI tweak, like themes, change of icons etc, the build is absolutely without any problems. The default files have no errors. there are a few checkboxes here and there which look a bit out of place, but its very very usable and fast. Just remove the redirects in Shell folder and the magnifier if you want to and you should be good to go.

hi guys,
I had the same message text issue with build 23047 and I fixed it using webview module from 23409.
Thought it might help sharing the info. the module is attached so download, unzip and replace in your SYS/COMMON

you know, i bet that was why my gps stopped working a couple months back.
I used to use isp.cingular all the time (for everything) and i went through a brief period of higher than normal tethering use, and i guess they shut it off for me. it was nice while it lasted, but then again, i knew i wasnt supposed to be using it. MEdia Net isn't horrible, its just alot more congested than isp.cingular. i guess thats what the enterprise class users pay for...

I've reflashed my phone a few times, wondering why my themes don't look right, and in my process I remembered metadata. I've been taking that from SYS to SYS from an old build. Is metadata device specific, or do the SYS's being posted have a general Metadata in them?
Edit: Looked through the metadata posted, only a few lines seem HTC Specific. I may try to cook with that when I get home later.

I know it's rebuilt for the ROM, but pre-building (when it's still in SYS) is when I'm talking about. It uses it as a base, so I was getting some funky keys left over.

I think we should start a new standing rule for this thread:
If you want to post asking for help with Operating System components that are not working, step one is to restore A STOCK \SYS WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS (except recmodded files as neccessary to boot a WM 6.1 Kernel)
There's a pretty constant recurring theme of people removing bits from the Operating System without understanding what these bits do and what the implications of removing them are. Then blaming the non-functioning of these components on the build itself...
So here it is in a bigger font!
If you want to post asking for help with Operating System components that are not working, step one is to restore A STOCK \SYS WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS (except recmodded files as neccessary to boot a WM 6.1 Kernel)
im pretty sure alot of people have forgotten about this rule, thought i would post a lil reminder :)

Da_G: Do you use a script to create everything based off of one release, or are all the DPI's from MSFT? If it's a script, I noticed that classicblue_stwater_240_400.jpg is actually 400x240 instead of 240x400. classicblue_stwater_400_240.jpg is correct though. Not really an issue, but I just noticed it.

Benko, you are like the king of screwing up a perfectly good Sys dump. Quit messing around in there, man! You can leave out some of the obvious stuff like Marketplace, but you really ought to first cook a rom with everything enabled. Test it and make sure all processes work, then start removing things. Off the top of my head, I leave out marketplace, I delete all bubblebreaker crap, I get rid of myphone (I think it's in there), I get rid of SkyMall or whatever that crap is and Internet sharing and pretty much anything that requires a data plan. You can also leave out SQM if you include the DummySQM package in your EXT's from no2chem. I also delete shortcuts and icon's I don't need, and some of the qvga garbage that's in there for CHome and what-not. You have to be careful with the latter, because it's easy to delete the necessary lock-screen .cpr's (I think you've done that, haven't you, lol?). But good lord, don't disable os. That's just begging for a non-booting rom, as far as I can tell.

To unsign, you just pick up your .dll file with the mouse cursor, then drag it over the file for the unsigner (can't remember if you need to let go of it or not). You'll see a quick flash on the pc screen, and now the .dll is unsigned. Just let go of it, and do your hacking.
If you can't find the unsigner, search for "File Editor Suite". It's in that package.

After a few bitter flashes, I used this EXT package and was able to get the SMS send button to work. It still uses the newer button graphic too.
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=c688bbf77e8a53f090232f302ae3e34afd8d42dc 50a00867
Is this the definitive answer to the SMS problem. I see that this package is several revisions old. This one is 5.0.43 whereas we're using 5.2.0.22.
How does the older package fair up compared to the newer one?
EDIT
Here is a NEWER package, 5.2.1.22:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4341293&postcount=2732
I'm installing it now and we'll see if it works. I'd rather have a newer working package then an older one.
UPDATE:
It doesn't work anyway. I'm gonna try to load an older webview.dll from 23045 then try.
UPDATE 2:
Using an older webview.dll didn't cut it for me either.

well device info is an htc app, it is not reading any ms info. you are correct that those are in nk.exe but its oem code, i dont think its relative to the future of WM on your device. have you replaced your payload/xip.bin/nk.exe with stock wizard and checked device info? and how are you building, is ervius vk modifying your rom date? i remember reading earlier in this thread that ervius has problems setting september.
player911: i want to say i read that that particular octet in arcsoft's versioning scheme differs between oems and does not reflect the actual app version. IE 5.2.0.23 would be newer than 5.2.1.22. so i dont know that the .22 versions have any real world difference. (but i could be wrong)

... and flattenned modules for your 6.1 kernel?
I have a HTC Wizard and afaik there is no 6.5 kernal for this phone. What does the sentence mean and do I have to do something like that do build a 23047 ROM for my phone?
have you looked at your slot 0?
How do I do that? What do I have to look for? What happends to the modules when I cook a ROM and there is not enough space in slot 0 and 1 for all of them? Kernals < 6.5 only use slot 0 and 1, right?
(except recmodded files as neccessary to boot a WM 6.1 Kernel)
What does this mean? Does it mean converting a modul to a normal dll-file?
If yes:
- Which modules should not be recmodded?
- Which modules should me recmodded?
- How do I know if I have to recmod? (this has something to do with the slots, right?)
- How do I recmod?
I read the first posts in this thread about the new kernel and the changes with modules and slots and so on. But that was to difficult for me. As you see in my questions, I think I am missing some basic information. Sorry for asking such basic stuff. :(

Since you have a 6.1 native kernel (and probably will never have a 6.5 kernel), you can't use as many modules as folks with 6.5 kernels. The new builds have a ton of modules in them; you'll need to rec'mod a bunch. There are tips throughout the thread for which ones to convert (couldn't tell you myself, as I have a 6.5 kernel).
You can find the memory map in your build log. If your kitchen doesn't produce one, here's a post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4305797&postcount=413) on how to modify the .bat to dump the log. Read post #2 for further info on memory mapping and slotting. You want slot 0 to have a low module commitment, or you'll get lots of weird errors.

I don't see anything that stands out. No webviewer.dll or anything. The problem is various.
- When I go to New>>SMS, it opens up but I cannot type. The [TO:] box doesn't respond to finger presses either (normally opens Contacts).
- MMS works fine (afaik). I can type in a few letters and select a name from my contacts and add pictures and send.
- Email, when I hit reply... it dumps me back to my inbox.
I simply took my 23045 kitchen and copied the new SYS, xip.bin, and MSXIPKernel that came with 23047.

i still do not feel that anything in the ce os can cause those effects on your oem device information app. its an oem app reading an oem code. while not on a wizard, i have used 23045 and 23047 with a 6.1 nk.exe and had no problems with device information.
Its a easy visible hex entry in S000 ( nk.exe ). like "TI OMAP850-195MHz WIZARD ENGLISH SEP 11 240X320 16 M-Systems and so on.........". I'm doing this same thing since many months but never seen such problem. Even I tried using same nk.exe which works fine in 23037 but same problem. :(
Anyways, its just a string so doesn't matter much. :)

I've used several Arcsoft MMS versions and a bunch of webview.dlls to no avail. I haven't changed anything since my last release (23045) other then the 23047 files from post 1.

I've not tried editing any of the included tsks, just adapted the Htc_black to fit the new style.
have you checked to see if the file is listed as "hidden"? sounds like you're having that issue.

What I do, is OPEN the file in your photo editor of choice and then while the image is open... delete the actual file from the folder; then Save it using the same name.

what i did was save it in the same folder but with a -new behind it. then remove the old ones en remove the -new in the names of the new ones. et voila

Hi dcd1182,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, when i first done it i removed some sys packages but then i enabled yhem back and all is fine. I will go through one by one to see which one was causing the issue cos i do want to remove some of the bloat, sorry this was an error by me (DUH!!).
Maybe you could help me with slot issues, i am using the 6.5 kernel so do i need to do anything re slot 0?

lmao, I just figured out what the problem was with the Messaging. It was the SYS package "Riched20". I enabled it on my last build and low and behold it now works perfectly. I'm even using my original Arcsoft MMS 5.2.0.22. I am using the Webview.dll from 23409 that was posted a page or two back. I don't know if it requires both but it's working now.

you're on a raphael. You have a native kernel available. You shouldn't need to recmod anything (well maybe mstag but that's not essential)
Restore the standard SYS,
Check your oem and ext to make sure that nothing is conflicting.. then do it again, and again. then check it again, then double check your DRM stuff

I tried both . with recmod and without recmod. I dont have this issue in 23037 and lower builds. Also I didn't apply any changes to my OEM and EXT, and SYS-XIP is completely untouched as Da_G upload.

I thought that Riched20 folder was residue from another device it was dumped from. I read somewhere to delete it, which I have been doing in the past few kitchens. Figures that the 1 sys folder I excluded was the issue.
Tael, a few posts ago someone posted the webview.dll from 23409. I have that plus that Riched20 sys package.
I don't believe it all boils down to JUST leaving the SYS intact. I think there are a few other factors coming in play with 23047. The right combination should work though as I have found out.

yes but just because you haven't changed anything in your OEM and EXT doesn't mean that there's something that could be conflicting in there with the new SYS build.

Let me ask you a (stupid) question. I read all the thread more than 4 times and now I'm missing about the versions.
Which is the branch "supposed" to be the "correct path" ? I'm having doubts between 230xx and 234xx ones. Or they both are going to end in something as "WM 6.5" and "WM 7" ? Or there will be a branch for "generic" PPC's and the other one for Microsoft-branded PPC's ?
I mean, cooking last 230xx and 234xx versions (not those last ones as I'm being busy in other things), I've found they're "similar" but 230xx seem more "compatible" to old devices.
Maybe I'm mistaken, maybe you told about this in some post I did not read :-s
Thank you !

RAM: 0x8c374000 - 0x8c3aa000 - Used for kernel modules
0x8c3aa000 - 0x8fc00000 - 56 MB free
Can sombody explain to me what this means? 121 Modules in slot 0 ... do I have to change something? I never got an "out of memory error".
Slot 0: 0x00000000 to 0x01FFFFFF, Slot 1: 0x02000000 to 0x03FFFFFF, Slot 2: 0x04000000 to 0x05FFFFFF

0x00d70000 - 0x00060000 = d10000(13697024 dec)= 13.0625mb of free space in slot 0

Testing build 23047 using the 96 dpi files that were shared in this thread by TPC.
When I tried to run the WM 6.5 task manager I would get the following error:
"The file 'taskmgr' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found......"
Looking at the source files I notice that the TaskMgr.exe file seems to be missing in the source files that TCP shared with us, but it IS included in the files that we got from Da_G
So if you want to solve this problem you need to use the TaskMgr.exe file from the Da_G source files. Not sure if any other files are missing from the 96 dpi files that we got from TCP. This is the first error I have encountered.

Do you have the task manager enabled in your EXT's? It sounds to me like you don't. You need the TM package cooked in. There is a task manager provxml that puts the shortcuts in (can't remember where it is in the kitchen-probably OEM-, but it's not in the TM package, at least the one I have), so you can have the shortcut without the TM. You're getting that error because the link is dead (just look at the link with total commander, then check the path and you'll see the .exe is missing-but you already know this).

The issue here is that the TaskMgr.exe file, which is normally part of the WM 6.5 source files, is missing from the source files we got from TCP. The Da_G files has the file, so either TCP excluded it on purpose or it was a mistake.
I do have the shortcut to Task Manager on my Start Menu becuase I have an EXT file that puts it in there.

no, the only reason i excluded taskmgr.exe in those files is because i upload those for people who use my kitchen and i include fdctaskmgr in an ext pkg. the only other file that was deleted was SQM, which was replaced by a dummy SQM. the folders browsing, browsingcore, and browsingie have been recmodded as i said when i posted them.

Hi Shane! Your answer solved my "crash" problem when I tried to cook with both tskmgr's (and I created my own -and erroneous- DotFred Taskmgr package), using OsKitchen.
Recmodding files "browsing" is related to the problem about misfunctions with PIE ?

yes, the dummy SQM will get rid of the customer feedback popup...no need to edit anything else.
recmodding is converting a module to a file, it can be done with recmod.exe. the purpose of recmodding modules is to allow more space in slot 0 since our kaisers dont have a native 6.5 nk.exe and have only 2 memory slots instead of 4 with the native nk.exe from 6.5. if you do a build-log.txt in your kitchen, it will print up a mem map for you and you will be able to tell if you need to recmod more modules or not. ive been using this method(recmodding browsingie, browsing, browsingcore) for months now for kaiser and i think everyone knows it has worked pretty well for me :)

I have to say build 23047 is fantastic. Not only has Microsoft finally gotten around to fixing the missing graphics (check boxes, pivot arrows, etc.), but the today screen doesn't seem to suffer from the fading away (blurring) of fonts. It may be too early to say if it won't happen as I start using the phone more and more; but with other builds the fading away would have already happened.
I have just released my Bare WM 6.5 version of this build to the xda-developers community (link below), so we will see what the users reaction is like.
As it has already been noted there is some check boxes and selection items which are misaligned. Since Microsoft is using graphic files (png) for those items; does anybody know if there is CPRs or any other editable layout file which we could use to fix those small layout problems?

This is for the 21851, 21854 and alike, and also the newer Builds with the start menu and OK, X button at bottom. To get the battery to show when at today screen and the Clock to show when in any other screen or program. The dword values are equivalent to 0.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Taskba r]
"LimitedClock"=dword:00000000
"ConsistentClockorBattery"=dword:00000000
Now for my questions that I hope someone can answer. I have seen screenshots of people having Both the Clock and the Battery in the taskbar. Is it just with 23047 and up? I am not talking about custom taskbars either. I mean the stock taskbar. And also, what would my registry values need set to?
Also for the newer 6.5 builds with start bar and ok, x icons at the bottom. Which task manager can I use that will actually close the programs when I hit X or exit? I noticed even cooking without HTC task manager programs still dont close like they should. What am I missing out on? Thanks

Strange SMS (Text Message) behavior - Build 23047.
OK, I am facing a very strange SMS behavior in build 23047. Previous builds including 23409 worked fine.
When I send to my Kaiser an SMS (for example from Google Voice) the screen lights up. But no incomming SMS indicator shows up and the SMS is NOT shown in the Text Messages Inbox.
I have done this over and over again and the pattern is always the same (screen lights up, but I can't see the text message).
I do NOT have a problem sending text messages from build 23409. They are received OK in Google Voice.
So there is something wrong, but I don't know what it is, or how to solve it. Obviously the phone DOES receive something because otherwise the screen wouldn't turn on every time I send a text message to the phone...but the big question is why doesn't the messages show up in the text messages inbox!

SMS is working fine on my Sprint Touch Pro with 23047.
I am flashing my Kaiser again with the 23047 ROM and I will then try to send a text message to my phone. That will help me determine if the issue is ROM related, or if it is somehow related to the spb backup restoration that I did from build 23409.

No problems receiving or sending text message on 23047 if I use the bare rom without restoring applications/settings with spb backup. So it seems that build 23047 changed something on the sms reception front which gets messed up when one uses spb backup restoration (even in upgrade ROM mode).
This is kind of unusual, because I have been able to restore settings with spb backup 'upgrade mode' restoration process ever since build 23009 without any problems what-so-ever.

Remember that in this kitchen you must toduplicate everytime you need a new xip the oemxipkernel folder cause it is original for your device as Antubis said... and the MSxipkernel... you can use the one provided by Da_G in its downloads... cause it is Winmo build related.

I guess the site is down now so I have attached mht file. Just keep it for ref and when the sites comes online again. get the latest info from there. Or else you can search for "Recmodding and Slot-0" in google. The website is www.everythingdiamond.info.
I suggest you to get SYS common from joojoobee666 and 0409 too if you are cooking 0409 language ROM. ex : here (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1154343&postcount=7782) instead wasting time in recmodding. ;)

Using the recmoded common folder from link of this post I had strange behaviour and several problems.
-The first time configuration wizard doesn't run at first boot. The programs seems to installed though, but I'm not sure if work all.
-Connection setup wizard running in every reboot, asks to reset the device after configuration, but after reboot the proccess starts again from the begining.
-ActiveSync doesn't work properly, seems to connect, I can explore the device, but not asking for partenership and ceregeditor cannot find activesync connection and doesn't connect. Cannot flashing also, and must to put device in bootloader mode.
-USB2PC doesn't show on settings->connections, I can open it though by running the exe in windows folder.
-Theme engine doesn't work. I cannot change to any theme from settings-> home, and is active the default old blue windows theme.
-SMS doesn't seems to work also. I tested this only with 0408 rom, so maybe it works on 0409 and it's matter of translation files. But cannot send a message. Instead ask me to save it to drafts.
I didn't change anything in my citchen configuration or files and all these work on every other build I made.
Have any other mention these problems?
I will try and with common folder from first post to see if I'll have same behaviour.

Hey Guys, there is one subtle change in this build that i guess went unnoticed.
Previously, if you dont have Windows Live cooked into your ROM, when you created an email account with hotmail.com in the email application, it asked you to go and download Windows Live, didn't gave you chance to configure it for POP3 even when its available for so long. We had to enter some fake email address first and then configure the account manually, edit it afterwards and set the email address right.
But with this build, it automatically reverts to Hotmail POP access and auto-configures the account :) Although country specific domains like live.in for India are not recognized yet. But its a good start.

Never had such issue. I'm using joojoobee666 modified source since from starting.
I have released many ROMs using is source without any problems. I guess there is some wrong in your OEM or kitchen builder. If the ROM overcooks, there will be same problems too.
lmao, I just figured out what the problem was with the Messaging. It was the SYS package "Riched20". I enabled it on my last build and low and behold it now works perfectly. I'm even using my original Arcsoft MMS 5.2.0.22. I am using the Webview.dll from 23409 that was posted a page or two back. I don't know if it requires both but it's working now.
hmm, I haven't touched anything in the SYS. Tried many versions of Arcsoft MMS, Webview.dll ( from 23409 ), Riched20 but still same problem. :(
If I the same OEM and ROM for 23041 build, send button works prefect!

I tried with the da_G 's SYS folder and all works fine again. Same thing as other times. Every time I used a SYS customized other than da_G 's I have strange behaviour, when I use da_G 's and personaly recmoded all works fine again.
And I mention one difference, when I use a custom SYS the device in first boot needs a minute to go to alignment sceen. When I use da_G' s it needs 3 minutes.
Is there any configuration related to SYS folder 's files that reduce this time?

I don't know how old the hermes is, but you're never going to get an nk for an older device. HTC has already said that the Raphael won't get an official update, and it's only a year old. Raph owners just lucked out that they apparently used it as the device for 6.5 development.

Thank you, but that is just an opinion - a guy from Microsoft thinks that HTC won't offer an upgrade, because it's not on their list. I believe that Raphael is not on the list, but inspite of that, it is still possible that the upgrade will be offered at some point. I'm not saying that I believe in 6..5 upgrade, just that it's possible. Few years ago Hermes received an (unexpected) WM6 upgrade. The same thing happened with Kaiser and WM6.1. The only official statement from HTC (that I'm aware of) is that the newest devices like Rhodium and Diamond2 will get a free upgrade, but they didn't mention that they will not offer 6.5 for Blackstone/Raphael/Diamond etc.

I have to say build 23047 is great, no problems with sending/receiving SMS or MMS.
Maybe no one noticed some other improvement, i mean A2DP is working better and better. In this build, when you listen thru Windows Media and when u hit Play song is starting bit quiet and going up in around a second or two. So you are not getting hit by loud music anymore. I use SE - DS980 headphones. It could show song tittle on headphones too, like in 21028 build, coz its not doing that for now.
I dont have any problems with missing icons in messaging or contacts, the solution is not to change the theme to custom one, just use suplied ones for now. It looks like, icons are part of themes now.
I have one problem tho, new locking screen with a slider is giving me a trouble. Sometimes, its impossible to unlock. Slider is just not responding. It looks like its happening randomly.
Anyone knows how to solve that ?

Jajaja come on Guys!!!
you dont need it... ask to Kane159!!! his ROMS are wonderfull. but he has learned so much this month, the limitation on when doe you/we gonna see a native kernel is unfare... but at the same time is not our limit... so... maybe you can BUY a new device that has native kernel... OR find a very good friend in HTC or MSFT that will risk his job to give you a native kernel.

Yes its old... but have you ever think about our Hardware qwerty?
Even tho HTC Universal is Older than anyother... is like if you try to find or make!!!!!! a native kernel for HTC Wallaby! imagine that!!! but HTC Universal has a powerfull strongARM processor 600Mhz or anything like that!

For everyone that is missing the pic in the send button or getting a random image - this is related to the custom taskbar icons you have installed. Uninstall you custom taskbar.
For those who can't send sms - you most likely need to recmod more files. Here is the list of files I recmod -
All in adobeflash
All in adobeflashcodecs
Base_DPI_192 – pegcards.192.dll,shellres.192.dll
All in BROWSINGCORE
All in browsingie
Bluetooth – btd.dll
BROWSING – browser.dll, webview.dll, and wmlview.dll
IPSECVPN – ipsecvpn.dll
MediaOS – wmcore.dll, wmpocx.dll
WindowsLiveIM – WLMMessenger.exe
For details on how to recmod, search for recmod.

If someone can tell me how to get a list of packages in txt format in Ervius Visualbepe`s kitchen, i will do that.
Upload Build Info.txt which is in your kitchen's root.

For those having sms problems try the sys files from the following link:
http://www.4shared.com/file/131519504/fa65497f/23047.html
I used them in combination with Da_G's xip.bin, languange files, and dpi files and everything works great.

ezinput's new sip menu dude
the ezinput has it's own sip menu....
theres a ton of SIP menus out there, got a link to the new one?
Also anyone know how to remove IE from sys files? Dont use it use opera.
also good news Tachiphone convas works finally good now, no more scroll bar in the dialer or call screen, however for some reason when you move the bar over "phone" and click on "view" call log the bottom part of the call log is missing. I think the outgoing/incoming/etc should be there. Any fix to this?

with 23047 anyone able to bring up the keypad while in a call?
I am using PhoneCanvas_ATT_Slider_3_30_3346.
The button to show keypad exist but when pushed it shows the phone menu and not the keypad. I searched through this thread but did not see anyone having this problem.

I suggest not replacing tapres/outres/etc dll's without updating theme with the new resources..... common sense people, if you having issues that other's aren't & are using custom dll's for topbar icons/etc, there's your starting point to look.
Thanks for the answer.
However you tell me to use common sense? Theres a key word in your statement that would not lead me to look there first or consider it "common sense".
"common sense people, if you having issues that other's aren't & are using custom dll's for TOPBAR icons/etc, there's your starting point to look."
Why would I automatically think that those DLL files would affect something on the SOFT KEY BAR that is sitting beside 4 other buttons that draw from png files in the windows directory? That might be on my list of places to look but certainly not in my top 5.
Id recommend looking into someones contributions and achievements on this forum before presuming to lecture them like they are newbs.
....and another day wondering why I even bother to post any more.

Are you sure you want to get rid of it? I know it's slow, but there are a few things that I find I can only use IE for. Mainly, I need it to connect to wifi in places like airports. I can't get the annoying login pages to work on other browsers (maybe there's a way, but I can't get it to work). It's also pretty good for downloading from rapidshare, or other sites where you need to sit through a timeout. (Opera may work for that, but I don't think I've tried).
Anyway, I know people do it. I think it's a couple packages in sys, like browserres. I just think it's not the best idea.

No, it's not good idea, because (or at least on PCs and on WinMo .NET) many apps uses IE's core and by removing only IE icon you save only few KBs.

Seems like common sense to me also. If something doesn't work on a change you have made to the system why would you not look at reversing that change first?
It has been stated several times in this thread that if you have issues cook a completely stock ROM to see if the issue you go away. If not then ask a question about it. Making changes to the task bar does not a stock ROM make.

thanks in advance

What was the trouble you have fix???? i cant see anything out of side there... maybe the scrollbar becase of the big size of the "TO" square???
To get rid of the circles just... make them full transparent on PSD... if you dont try to delete them of course jejeje never tried but may work... i prefeer the buttons really semms to be more touchy  but the scrollbar ROCKS!!!

Who said I was using custom icons? The picture I refered to was not even mine. It was just depicting the current situation. I actually did cook a stock rom so thanks for assuming that I didnt. I love how people are so quick to think someone is stupid when they have none of the facts.
It turned out to be a broken module from where I used recmod but thanks I have it fixed now.

I saw you in so many other places here at XDA aruppenthal, you has been so much helpful for sooo many people, i think the customizing icons and some more things was given to all of us, smarter or stupid people.

I guss that I found SMS sending problem reason. By these packages I dont have any issues, but when I disable them I cant send sms. So which one of them is essential for being in SYS?

So you said before that you cooked a stock ROM? You used pictures to show an issue but then say they are not yours. How are we supposed to help with misinformation?
Just because you have over 2000 posts does not mean I know who you are. So I start with the basics and move on from there. Maybe you should stop assuming everyone knows who you are and what level of abilities you have.
Based on the information you presented the advice you were given is sound even if you don't like it.
Also, did I say anywhere in any of my posts you were stupid?
I am glad you got the situation fixed. :)

A few pages ago, I was asking about tidying up the start menu - thanks all who helped, I am almost there :)
The MSN Weather, MSN Money and Search Widget I want to move to a Widgets folder - can someone post a Mortscript that can do this please (I am no good at scripting :o)
I also want to delete the Task Manager link from the start menu - I have it appearing in the tools folder, but I can't see why it is still creating one on the start menu, so if that could be in the script too :)?
Finally, how do I get RunCC to run the Mortscript as part of the customisation - after all other bits run :)?
Thanks, appreciate your help !
