Just because you have over 2000 posts does not mean I know who you are. So I start with the basics and move on from there. Maybe you should stop assuming everyone knows who you are and what level of abilities you have.

My advice would be (to all, not just you) that when a long time contributing member asks a question, they should be given the benefit of the doubt. Most users with over 2,000 posts have made pretty significant contributions to the forum, and accordingly have earned a little understanding from other users in my opinion. That being said, even when dealing with new users I see way to much of people assuming the person who is asking the question hasn't even tried to find a solution.

This situation honestly seems to be a bit of misunderstanding tone when communicating, and as such I don't foresee any reason why it would be continued; however, i just wanted to interject my thoughts. Everyone gets frustrated sometimes, but like i said earlier. We're all here to have fun, right?

sure, all you have to do is add this to config.txt or configAP.txt whichever you use

My findings are not same as yours. If you replaced Redist_Lang_0409 with the older one, say 23016, SMS will work perfectly.

no way dude! no way you downloaded these files and it fixed your issues. i am having the text issue and that is my 4shared. so those are the exact files i am already using lmao! fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Perhaps there is a problem with one of your OEM files because those are the exact files I used (only the files in the shared folder) and I didn't mod them at all and I have a fully functioning phone. Please do note though that I'm using the LG Incite and Da_G's 96dpi and Language files. I also used the LG Kitchen Spocky created to cook my rom. The kitchen consisted of a program Spocky wrote, some tools from MisterJp, CopsFrance, and Bepe, and the Ervius visual kitchen. So laugh all you want and curse all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that those files worked for me.

By the way thanks for the sys files. They really do work great for my device.

A lot of that came from junior; I used to have some copy commands in there, but the rename commands do basically the same thing. I also used to have commands to delete reg keys for start icons, but I found the source .provxml's. It's basically a whole lot of copying and pasting, and some trial and error with the reg keys. The first time I tried to delete the clsid keys, I deleted the entire clsid branch of the registry. It was H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S.

Yes. I tried many figures and combinations. untouched SYS/XIP, Replaced some SYS packages from old builds, etc. My OEM is untouched also and in 23037 and lower works fine.

Yeah, I knew and saw your problem. But my problem is different from your one. My messaging works good and there is no visual problems, Actually my problem is in sending. When I compose a message and trying to send that, it wait for ~1-2minutes in Outbox and then shows an error and goes into Drafts.

seems to me that since you have cooked complete sys no modifications then the problem has to be in your oem/ext. for my fuse and kaiser both i used sys minus the bs stuff like wmlive, skybox, ect. and it works fine in both of those so i think you can rule out sys totally from your problem. i dont know what device you have but maybe try dumping a stock rom and using a base oem/ext from it totally diff from yours now and see if it works :confused:

Don't know if you got this fixed yet, but I can tell you there one error & it's visual as well from that screenshot. Your "Delete" Button has Text. It is NOT supposed to, which means you have an old MUI somewhere. Most likely the outres one since I think that should be part of POutlook.

23047 is working great on my Dutch Touch Pro...
I have a few small 'bugs':

1) (see first attached screenshot): I have a problem with the microsoft datepicker in settings. When I want to set the date and tab on the list arrow, a month appears. In that screen I can select a day. But I can not confirm the change...seems like it needs a 'OK' button. It's also not possible to change to another month except the one you are already in when the screen appears.
It's not a huge problem because I can still change te date by tapping on day/month/year and use my up/down buttons to change it.
But to get the 'perfect' rom I would like to solve this

2) (see second attached screenshot): Some checkboxes seem stretched. It's not theme-related because I also tried original (build in) blue theme...same there...others have this too? If so, probably needs some finetuning by the MS-developers ;)

3) I still have the problem that the enlarged dropdown taskbar from microsoft dissapears behind manila. It does show in titanium....

One or more of them is from an older build & still has the Delete String/Dialog (which ever it is). How did you get the SMS problem fixed ?

In case of battery drain once I read an article in which the author recommended to flash an official ROM first (Wizard Love ROM in your case).

What you now need to do is compare the files from your customizations with the one's in the Source files. Find out what DLL/EXE/MUI(s) you replace & edit the new source version with your changes. Make sure resource number haven't change either. For example, the Start Menu icon is Resource 1000 in you file, they might have changed this to say 1005. So make sure you are replacing the correct resource while editing. You never know what can be changed in these files & they do so much more than just house our preciouse custom Icons lol.

I have problems with sms in landscape with manila 2.1 on 23034+ builds with the 23034+ BUILD HACK (POSITION) the input box dissapears in landscape mode (see 1. screenshot).
Without the position hack the input box shows correctly (2. screenshot).

Excuse my ignorance, but what are all the "HKCR","\CLSID\ values you are deleting related too? Are you just cleaning out unused/unneeded values?

They're inprocserver keys, or something like that. With 6.1, I always found 13 bad keys with sk tools and now with 6.5, I get 19. I have no idea why they show up (maybe it's something I don't cook in), or how to remove them from the kitchen. But it's a lot easier to run Clean! without them in there. I really doubt it affects the device performance either way.

The stock keyboard is clearly unusable, and the stock dialer is so wm5.0. They correct those last two problems specifically the keyboard issue and finally M$ is back in the market.

Well, Dialler is not so bad, its just simple and its working! Their SmartDiall (or whatever name is) is just excelent. They should provide support for 3G Video calling out of box and it will be just fine, or maybe more cosmetic up to date things....

Another nice thing is their auto settings for data connection, by now its working pretty good, but one thing is missing, MMS connection support, or lack of it. This tool just doesn`t set MMS connection at all, which usually is different than data connection. Wood be nice to have that too.

Keyboard... well there is something going on.... u can feel it in the air. Some many changes in system itself, but keyboard... strange. I red some news some time ago, that maybe they will just imply a OEM solution globaly, maybe SPB keyboard or maybe HTC one. Or, they may include a ZUNE HD solution in final build... wood be nice to see that.
Or simply they will leave it to OEM discretion, becouse it its hard to support so many resolutions and OEM expectations....

Another thing is, for e.x. outlook mobile menus, its just wm6(1) menus with cosmetic changes.... there should be more to it, outlook mobile should be changed from the scratch... or their 2010 update should be available for all globally.

Another one,Windows Media Player... so far its ok, its playing fine or music files or video files... but... it didnt change from wm6 at all, beside menus, its larger. Skin of it should be a lot more finger friendly, which is not at the moment.
Another one is A2DP support, its good, even better than it was in wm6.1 but.... It should support sending song tittle to bluetooth A2DP headphones (like in 21028 build), it was in past but somehow it was droped over a time.
Another thing is they should do what they did in Win7, extra codecs support, like divx, xvid or even .mkv container support out of the box... no more problems with decoding files....

Build 23047 works great for me but there are still some small glitches. I can live with that, I just wonder if they are related to this build or the QVGA resultion or if I am the only one with these problems?!

1. Picture:
As you see, not of all of the dropdown-box-buttons have the new gfx. Till now I only saw this on this configuration screen. The other problem is, that the gfx seems to be not in right proportion. This I can see everywhere in the ROM where a dropdown-box-button is.
UPPS: I just noticed, that these buttons are not dropdown-box-buttons. But anyway, does it look the same in your ROMs?

2. Picture:
The screenshots from other users ROMs here in this thread had bigger "From" (german "Von") and "To" (german "An") filds. As you see on my picture, on my ROM it is quit small and not realy fingerfriendly.

3. + 4. Picture:
When I disable DHCP and try to fill in an IP-Address for my NIC i can only type 2 digits. First I thought I might have to write it in hex but letters a to f are not allowed. As you can see in the last picture an IP-Address for the Nameserver works great with all three digits.

Does anyone else have these problems and/or does anyone knows how to fix it? Which file is used for the IP configuration?

Is there a way to get ShowCase to close the programs when you hit OK like it does on the earlier builds and 6.1? I want to close programs and not just minimize them. Going to showcase or task manager to close all the time is a real pain in the you know where.

im assuming when you guys say diamond your referring to the gsm diamond and not the cdma diamond correct? From what someone told me the cdma diamond does not run a native 6.5 kernel, only gsm.

why do u think that newer drivers 2.10 are better ? it shows 2.00 in 6.5 leaked rom but date on drivers are newer than 2.10 .

As I said before,
1. The OpenGLES was slower, so TF3D2.1 performance was decreased.
2. You will noticed corrupted GDI drawing in icons with old OEMDrivers+native wm6.5 nk.exe in many apps (I think the problem was in DDI.dll).
3. Paused audio when you playing musics ( fixed with OEM_Misc.dll from newer version - > 2.07 ).

AEBPlus great program http://ae.inc.ru/ worked up until build 23409; but starting with build 23047 the bottom portion of its interface is gone!

This is the first program that I have come across where the interface is useless after a WM 6.5 build. Many were affected by the thickness of the bottom bar, but to have part of the interface disapear is a new one for me!

The functionality of the software still works if one copies the configuration file created with a previous build to this new one. But without a working interface one is unable to make any changes to the button/application allocation!

I have contacted the author of the software, but based on previous experience I am not really sure if he will fix the software. If anybody knows what could be causing this issue or how to solve it (without the help of the developer), please let me know. Also if you know alternative products that do the same thing, let me know; because I really need the AEB Plus functionality.

its not the only app to do it, theres a couple of others, including some of the settings on netfront.

I think its down to the author coding to deal with sip position, to save a resize, but don't know for definite..

I'm using this program with all new builds from here(included 23409, 23047) and I have this screen that you provide.
But the program works fine for me. I can select a button and configure its behaviour. I just tap on white space after I select the button and the window with the handle by AE Button plus and the other options appears.
Just I cannot see the infos about what I had configure its button to do. But I can configure all the actions and all works like before.
At least is fully functional and this is fine by me.

I cant seem to get this Touch Pro of mine to work properly with Ervius Visual Kitchen. I created a new SYS folder that wasn't all recmodded out, and made sure I checked the box. The phone boots fine, but I just can't change any sound settings. Funny thing is, I modified PPCKitchen and made a new XIP with the new 6.5 kernel, cooked it all up, and it works fine there.

I want to automatically remove the redirect reg entires using a motrscript - thought I had it, but it doesn't work. Here is what I tried...

edit: Okay I think where I went wrong was not checking that the regkey existed first - all working now :) - one of the key wasn't there and therefore the rest didn't run.

Download Da_G's last full kitchen-23016 (there may have been a 2302x as well, but those are buggier). Then port or add whatever sys/xip you want to it, and get the newer nk.exe. It's seriously not that hard. Just don't screw with the sys folder and you'll be fine.

C'mon guys, if the native kernal isn't in post 2, then it simply doesn't exist. And use a little common sense. The wizard is the 6th device listed in the forums. The wallaby isn't getting a 6.5 rom upgrade. I doubt that the Wizard is either.

there's two different DRM systems, either lockstream (which uses the lsomacore filters) or discretix which appears to use

watch your map output in prb, yes of course its possible to have too much, but youre probably not going to. however, you will break alot of oemdrivers on raphael_c if you use reversmode. i wouldnt recommend what you are suggesting.

welp, i was over zealous anyways and went through the whole oem folder and all my packages. ended up with almost 900 modules! annnnnnnnnd it killed the kitchen lol. i get errorlevel: -1073741819 during kitchen_build_rom.bat. soooooo now i gotta fix stuff and lots of time wasted :(

I posted the quick gps dependencies a few days ago in this thread (probably 500 posts ago, lol). You must be leaving something out. Just look for the post, and figure out what modules you are missing. You can open up quick gps (I'm assuming you can, but it doesn't download) and then check the dependencies with dotfred's task manager (long press on the quickgps.exe then select details). Compare what dotfred shows with what I posted and figure out the missing .dll's.

Does anyone else NOT have the default SIP keybpard? I use an EzInput package but in 23049 the SIP menu doesn't include the default SIP keyboard like in older builds?

I got a new native xip.bin for xperia but can't get it too work. it's just the xip.bin. So I already dumped it to "OEMXipKernel" with XIPPort.exe. But a few files that are also necessairy are missing: "os.nb.payload", "romhdr.bin" and "uldr.nb0". Does anyone know how to extract those files from the xip.bin?
Maybe this isn't really the right place to ask this. But I think I got best changes for a answerd here since there are some people out here who are porting everything the whole day.

I'm pretty sure you don't want outlookenhancement-it screws up sms's, from what has been posted. You need mhub, conncurrence, bootlauncher and dshow for sure. There are a bunch of .dlls in there that common apps like the camera and media players need. Bootlauncher controls a bunch of things that run on startup; check HKCU\Software\HTC\Bootlauncher for controls. Random access is the list of letters (A-Z) on the right hand side of your contacts that allows you to scroll quickly. Not sure if you need it or not, or if it even works on the newer builds. I think I've read that it doesn't. I have no clue about picture enhancement, but you might as well keep it.

Picture Enhancement hooks the WinMo default "Camera" functionality to redirect to the HTC Camera app - without it if you try do something like send a photo in MSN, and it has an option for taking a photo directly from the camera - the option won't work without PictureEnhancement. Also adds a page or 2 to "options" in the winmo default "Pictures & Videos" app.

I'm using this program with all new builds from here(included 23409, 23047) and I have this screen that you provide.
But the program works fine for me. I can select a button and configure its behaviour. I just tap on white space after I select the button and the window with the handle by AE Button plus and the other options appears.
Just I cannot see the infos about what I had configure its button to do. But I can configure all the actions and all works like before.
At least is fully functional and this is fine by me.

FWIW I had a similar problem on a CDMA Touch Pro. Cause was I had commented out the Lockstream DRM registry settings in boot.hv. Might give you some ideas where to look.

You can do it with ceregeditor (it's just like editting the registry). I'm not sure how you edit the order, though, or if that's important. I guess you can dump it as an .rgu, but I'm not sure how you handle it thereafter.

Does anybody know what are the registry entries that pertain to text messaging (SMS). I would like to know because the restoration of my programs (close to 60!) and settings from spb Backup (ROM upgrade mode) works perfectly OK on build 23047, with the exception that after the restore I can't receive text messages anymore. If I don't restore using spbBackup I can receive text messages without any problem.

Since my spb Backup restoration process does not alter system files, it must be a registry entry that is causign the problem.

Therefore I want to be able to restore the registry entries pertaining to SMS/Text messages (from the 23047 build prior to spb backup restoration to the 23047 build after spb backup restoration), but I don't know even how to start locating them. If I compare the registry before the restoration to the one after the restoration there is thousands of changes, so that is why I am asking for some guidance from those that know its location (or at least keywords). You need mhub, conncurrence, bootlauncher and dshow for sure.
Only bootlauncher is still in my ROM and everything seems to work just fine!

There are a bunch of .dlls in there that common apps like the camera and media players need. Bootlauncher controls a bunch of things that run on startup; check HKCU\Software\HTC\Bootlauncher for controls. Random access is the list of letters (A-Z) on the right hand side of your contacts that allows you to scroll quickly. Not sure if you need it or not, or if it even works on the newer builds. I think I've read that it doesn't. I have no clue about picture enhancement, but you might as well keep it.
I remember Random Access. Does ist work in builds >=23047? My Camera and the WMP seem to work fine without all tha dlls.

Picture Enhancement hooks the WinMo default "Camera" functionality to redirect to the HTC Camera app - without it if you try do something like send a photo in MSN, and it has an option for taking a photo directly from the camera - the option won't work without PictureEnhancement. Also adds a page or 2 to "options" in the winmo default "Pictures & Videos" app.
Interesting! I never used MSN. Lucky me I only used MMS, Quickmark and a few other apps which worked without this pack. I think I will have to test, if the extra options are important for me.

I have a memory card read/write problem with last build. If I take a photo, I need about 1 minute to save a photo into memory card (a photo with resolution at 3M, otherwise if resolution is lower than 3M, i have no problem to save). Also other program like TomTom or IGo have problems to save/write informations in memory card. To test, I also cooked the same packages in build 23017 and all work well. What do you think ?

You can do it with ceregeditor (it's just like editting the registry). I'm not sure how you edit the order, though, or if that's important. I guess you can dump it as an .rgu, but I'm not sure how you handle it thereafter.

For editing hv then use Hv editor :p

it would be better if they were modules if you had a native 6.5 nk.exe, but since most 96dpi devices(including kaiser i have) dont, i recmod these folders to help out with available mem in slot 0 :)

as far as i know rory there isnt a definite number thats best for a minimum, maybe da_g could help on this one :) from my personal experience, i try to have at least 24-25mb free in slot 0 and seems to work good for me on kaiser.

Read Da_G #2 post in this thread for info on 6.1 vs. 6.5 VM. Good info there.

On a previous question how to edit boot.hv - depends on your kitchen. If using Visual Kitchen, edit boot.rgu and boot.hv is compiled automagically from boot.rgu. If using other kitchens, you may need to use rgucomp.exe to compile boot.hv from boot.rgu. Boot.hv must be in the XIP. Boot.rgu doesn't need to be. Boot.rgu however is compiled along with a lot of other files to make default.hv in the IMGFS - so the boot.rgu and boot.hv should match. Where the files go depends on the kitchen.

Is there a registry setting that controls the backlight on the unlock screen?

I'm running the 23047 ROM but I've had an issue on the last few ROMs. On the screen lock page where I have to enter my PIN, the screen is very dim to the point that it's very difficult to get it unlocked out in the sun. Once it's unlocked it uses the normal backlight setting and I can see everything ok but the unlock screen doesn't appear to use that same setting.

You can't take from one and add to the other. The two are interdependent. You have to tweak the ROM to get more program memory by either removing memory intensive programs or optimizing and tweaking them.

The paging pool has to do with the RAM (program memory). If you lower it to 8, you'll save some RAM.
