Another update, they will be there on boot (just the regular ones) if your remove the stuff for PushButton from mxipcold_wpc_2.provxml in base_dpi_192_resh_480_resv_640 (or whatever your DPI is...)

Yep, it's the SAME exact problem, just confirmed the same methods "fix" them by bringing back the old school. I even went as far as stripping my Device OEM down to nothing but OEMDrivers. and the initflashfiles.dat. Microsoft must have ported the problem right over from COM3 to COM4, whoops!

Maybe your right. I see the tsk files haven't changed since the 7th, but without seeing what it is SUPPOSED to look like....;)

I know it's something that changed in the OS package now, after slowly moving packages from 23060 into a 23053 base...probably gwes.exe. Swapping that on next build. I guess that can kinda work as a work around until we find out what is missing fromthe tsk files (if there is in fact anything missing at all and not just a screw up...)

UPDATE: yep, replacing gwes.exe with the one from 23053 will bring the buttons back, but I guess it does kind off half defeat the purposes....

Ok, makes since, just looked like colors the way he had it divided out. So the second one is for Landscape than. Which is what the "L" stands for. Basicly does what CPR's do for CHome.

On a side note, if, swapping out gwes.exe fixes it, than there must be something changed. I notice that in 23052 not all button are new. Maybe they meant to add new buttons but haven't implemented the regs in the.tsk for them or something. As of right now, the TSK's are unchanged...

It looks like they are postions dlgctrL is landscape and dlgctr is portrait.

Update: So, we are thinking that moving to dialog positions is affecting where the buttons are supposed to be, so they are not showing. I'm removing these entries to see if the buttons come back.

He translated into 0c0a eh, I've changed the gwes.exe by 23,052 including gwes.exe.0C0A.mui.

My only problem now is that it does not open the start button. Any ideas? What program is responsible for this button? I have read some of cprog.exe can be this the problem?

By default no.

The new contact manager can be taken from 23420. But, there are bug there that it can't be set the picture. Select a picture on the exit.

FYI: Without any change 23420/23060, even though the buttons are not showing on the messagebox. The positions where buttons should be are clickable. Just an observation

try to switch over tha lang_0409 and lang_dpi to 23047. It may work
i think it has to do with either a dpi or a lang problem.

it's because of showcase not being able to terminate messaging. are you using htc messaging of windows messaging? try adding them to the exclusion list for showcase.

to test this have showcase minimize rather then terminate and see if your problem goes away.

It states that if there is nothing put in the string value then the button will show. If a space is put in the string value then the button will be gone with nothing showing. If text is placed in the string then it will attach that text to the end of the message (like you show it doing). This will allow you to explain to a user what to do when there is no cancel button.

From what I understand of this article and the no button issue we have with these new builds it will not help.

Is this a problem of build 23420 or also a problem of build 23414? I only saw a zip-file with the build 23414 files and I am just ripping the same files from build 23420. What do you mean by "select a picture on exit"?

May I use modules of other builds or do I have to modify them or do I have to recmod them? I had a tool once that showed me information about modules but I cannot remember which tool it was. :(

so if you're using one older one, it may be best to use that..

yeah, if you use the old task manager w/the hidden icon registry tweak you will still be able to press the clock to bring up the task manager drop down, which has a close all button (or you can close 1 by 1).

Is this a problem of build 23420 or also a problem of build 23414? I only saw a zip-file with the build 23414 files and I am just ripping the same files from build 23420. What do you mean by "select a picture on exit"?

May I use modules of other builds or do I have to modify them or do I have to recmod them? I had a tool once that showed me information about modules but I cannot remember which tool it was. :(

This problem only occurs in the build 23420, build 23414 no. Yeps file list same as 23414 minus outres.xxx.dll, because 23060 outres.xxx.dll = 23420 outres.xxx.dll. I mean, if you select the picture apps are immediately closed.

To fix this bug, change pimstore.dll and outres.dll.xxxx.mui with modules from 23414.

Anyone having trouble with activesync with 23060? I'm getting an invalid cert error even after installing my cert (same procedure worked in previous builds).

Update: Had same problem with 23420. I swapped in actsync.dll, synccsp.dll, syncmgr.dll, syncres.dll, and syncutil.dll from 23053. Got the odd IE looking invalid cert popup from 23053 instead of the normal yes/no box, and was able to sync. I need to check which file fixed the problem exactly.

It looks like MS is working on a new way to handle certs there. I remember a build that let me sync without loading my certs first and 23053 had the IE looking popup. Just noticed that 23053 AS does not need certs to be installed beforehand either.

I'm missing yes/no buttons on both builds like many other people. Swapping in gwes from 23053 seems to fix it as recommended.

Is there a stable ROM for the Sprint Treo Pro with WM6.5 and 96dpi? I have just unlocked my phone using CFay's unlocker, and would love to try and see if one works for me (cannot find stable web browser under CFay's WM6.5 at 96dpi). However, I do not have time to learn how to cook, etc., so simpler is better (e.g. 1. extract rar file[link] to a new folder, 2. plug the usb cable into your phone, ...). Maybe a sticky up front so those with just a little sophistication can try some of the more stable cooked roms? Thanks.

Just composed a text message and closed it, it asks do you want to save in drafts - if i click where the 'yes' should be, it saves in drafts, if i click where the 'no' should be it doesn't save.
Also, just created a word doc and saved. Then clicked to delete it, same thing, click where 'yes' is and it deletes, click where no is and it doesn't delete.
With file explorer, the message box seems to work fine with yes/no buttons - seems to use different messagebox (older style??).

No, the buttons are in the right place, 'yes' on left and 'no' on right.
Just noticed that it seems to be a bit quicker at releasing ram (i think anyway) after an app is closed than the 23060 build i had with the gwes from 23053 in.

might keep it - especially if its better at releasing the ram. I'll have to play around a bit more but seems ok.

EDIT: Yep, IMO it is releasing RAM quicker, just fired IE, connected and closed IE, ram back pretty quickly! Same with contacts etc, as soon as they are closed the RAM is released quickly. Wasn't happening this quick with the 23053 gwes in.

Maybe someone else can try and confirm (maybe i'm just going a bit maaaaad!!!!)

I'm having the same issue when exporting the values (stated below) using WinCE Cab Manager and importing it back to my theme. It seems like the program export/import big values incorrectly (one of the values will be missing and the other is exchanged). In my case, I'll have to manually edit the values and paste them in the program.

I'm not sure what program you are using but I'm pretty sure that if you make sure that they are there, you'll solve your problem.

I didnt do anything !?
I just tried to start IE from start menu by pressing IE button, but it wont start, just show a message: internet explorer cannot download blank and close itself after that message.


EDITED: It seems that something happened with Browsing_DPI_96 during cooking. I will have to cook again.

SOLVED: with fresh build. It was something with Browsing_DPI_96.

if you are using the LEO package for "settings improvement" that will hide the Settings option from the start menu. Either edit the reg key to set the option for hiding settings to 0 or just leave it out.

Hi all,
I have tried 23060 with the gwes from 23060 today and it seems better with memory management (IMO). I have found that the missing buttons from the message boxes ARE there - you just can't see them.
To prove this, just go to communication manager (i use v2.2) and disable the phone and data connection. Then re-enable the data connection first and a message box will appear asking if you want to enable the phone - Because communication manager has a black background you can see two spaces where the buttons are meant to be, click left space (yes) and it enables the phone. Click right space (NO) and it doesn't - just like its meant to do!!!!
All message boxes seem to have the buttons but if the background is white then you just don't see the buttons but click where you know they should be and they work. Seems the button graphic/overlay or related is missing but thats all.

We thought it was the rom we flashed to so we reverted back to t-mobile rom come to find out we still could not keep a battery charged for a very short time. please advise PS forgot how to flash the rom.

No, the buttons are in the right place, 'yes' on left and 'no' on right.
Just noticed that it seems to be a bit quicker at releasing ram (i think anyway) after an app is closed than the 23060 build i had with the gwes from 23053 in.

might keep it - especially if its better at releasing the ram. I'll have to play around a bit more but seems ok.

EDIT: Yep, IMO it is releasing RAM quicker, just fired IE, connected and closed IE, ram back pretty quickly! Same with contacts etc, as soon as they are closed the RAM is released quickly. Wasn't happening this quick with the 23053 gwes in.

Maybe someone else can try and confirm (maybe i'm just going a bit maaaaad!!!!)

I didnt do anything !?
I just tried to start IE from start menu by pressing IE button, but it wont start, just show a message: internet explorer cannot download blank and close itself after that message.


EDITED: It seems that something happened with Browsing_DPI_96 during cooking. I will have to cook again.

SOLVED: with fresh build. It was something with Browsing_DPI_96.

You must be using the HTC PhoneCanvas scrolling history fix. The cprog.exe and dll will cause you to be unable to create new contacts.

I have a question for all of you that have been using the latest packages like 23052, 23060 or 23420. When I am using those to cook a rom for my device I got an issue with notifications (like when I'm creating an alarm). I don't get the notification on the screen, the bell icon is in the new sliding top bar but when I click on it, the device freezes.

The last package that I used and could get notification working is 23409. I was wondering if you all had the same issue or if it's just me.

It is more likely MUI problem. What MUI do you use? Original 0409 english or some other language? If you use non-english mui, try to switch system on english (if there are english mui beside yours in system) and then check will this happend again.

On my 23060 build, creation of new outlook contacs works just fine.

I am using the OC ROM by Player911 on my Fuze.

It seems that Start->Settings->Clocks and Alarms
only shows alarm sounds in the Windows folder that have a wma extension.

But in TFL3D, it only shows alarms with a WMA extension.

And the alarm will only sound if the alarm tone is set through Windows, not TFL3D.

Is it possible to use wav tones for the alarm, so that TFL3D can be used to set the alarm?

Looking for a registry setting. Anyone know of one to make this work?

With the latest Energy ROM for Raphael, using build 23016 and the same TFL3D, there is not this issue.

Perhaps you forgot to overwrite the file 1f1aca24-d942-9281-464a-10567741499c.rgu in Shell package ? There is something important for the new contact manager, namely:

Yes, you're right, but I don't like the new bottom blue bar, I want the old style start menu on bottom. Furthermore manila doesn't view as well, because this bar is too high. Is there a posibility to change the bottom bar color and height?

Official? That's pretty sweet. 21854 is the old style of UI. Does that mean that the other branches are leading into WM7 or will they release further updates under 6.5.1 like WM6 to WM6.1?
