The 23063 XIP and the MSXIPKernel files from 23064 are identical, therefor, here is a 23063 XIP I patched to say 23064 :)

I think that 23064 is patched... i dont think that all files in sys are that same version...

You are correct, the DSM's have been patched in both the SYS and DPI. After reviewing, the 23064 SYS DOES look newer by one day, and has newer modules/packages. The DPI on the other hand IS from 23063 as well as the XIP. So it appears to be legitimate, just patched to all match.

I have strange graphics in 23064. Something is really messed up in themes, 1) It only shows "toolbarTextBubble.png" and not "toolbarIconBubble.png" on taskbar 2) The "Pivot" graphics in settings are messed up bad, using what seems to be my start menu icons as background and softkey buttons as left right arrows. See my screens below.

Does anyone have 23063 COMMON? I only have lang and DPI files :( I am going to merge with 23064 for now, but I hope this graphics thing does not carry over. Am I the only one? I think I may have left gwes from 23049 in there by mistake, but dont think it would cause so much trouble like this. I am recooking, but thought to get some other opinions on themes with 23064 :o

It depends upon your kitchen builder. Which one gets to imported to default.hv and user.hv.

So better to use provxml. :)

None of 7 cooked rom didnt want to boot. My cooking experience tells me that it is a xip problem.
BUT, cooking many times before with Da_G´s sources (on the same way as now) I never ( really never) had a non-booting issue.

So, I am giving up trying to cook from these sources. I believe there is a good reason for Da_G´s recently "no-no" post when he warn to stop asking for a new release.

Did you recmod the files or grab a native kernel if one exists? Prior to the CDMA TP nk I had the same issues and it looked like it was caused by slot 0 being full.

According to buildlog, I got only ONE module in slot0, there is no any overwriting (of basic files) and kitchen does not report any errors.

In the PKG you provide for QVGA 23064 i saw CommonNonEA and CommonEA... so what does we must to use... i see that they use diferent ID # on the pkg dsm and rgu but the NonEA PKG has .RGU the EA single PKG dont has RGU so... wich to use.. thanks i will prefeer to use the one with NonEA due to a Reg key inside the rgu... sayin something about that in the inbox you could call for group contacts to send messages... i think its a key for the new contacts card to work with the Messaging app...

Yes use the ***NonEA. Works just like the older builds

The gwes.exe works well.
Changes apparent:
Have obscured the bottom taskbar and I think even reduced.
The top taskbar would say that something also been expanded.
Otherwise I see it all the same.

Problems I have:
I Ervius visualkitchen carries the xip.bin by boot.rgu old problem, the error tells me that it would not be bootable. Any ideas?

When you start installing the ROM puts the old buttons, these are arranged to install the. Tsk.

Hey Da_G, I know that keeping slot 0 free is a good thing, I can go and recmod damned near everything so that slot 0 is free on build (according to kitchen log), the only problem is that obviously some of that is going to be assigned dynamically on boot up. I'm wondering if there is an application that we can run that will show us slot 0 usage and what modules/files are assigned to the 64kb blocks.

I'm on 6.1 kernel, so that means I should be trying to squeeze everything into one 32mb slot (slot1) which is going to be damned near impossible. I'm sure there are quite a few system dll's that are rarely used, but using vm space anyhow due to the fact that almost everything is a module from MS on these releases. I want to see if I can get a better idea of what dll's are used more often and which one's aren't so I can fine tune my VM Slot assignment.

A.K.A., do we have any tools to profile our VM Slot usage/assignment once booted?

2. content of Redist_Lang_XXX folder in SYS (should be replaced with your original ROM folder before cooking - but, I have noticed that original one from 23060 works).

At least how can we synchronize title clock? It always lags behind main clock with different amount of seconds every time. I think problem is not correct updating of title bar clock. Maybe if we know where it takes data from to update we can at least synchronize it?

I have been away for a week or two as a result of lightning damage to my computer. Currently using a loaner....

If I remember correctly the tentative launch date from MS for WM 6.5 was the first week of October. Does anybody know if they somehow launched the OS or if it was delayed (yet again!). If launched, are we now working on builds that will be used for WM 7, or what?

The latest build I used was 23053. Tempted to start cooking 23064, but since it has been a while since the 2306X was launched I am afraid that as soon as I finish cooking and documenting the ROM, a new one will come out. Anybody knows if a new version is comming out soon?

I finally got my old GWES to boot but I started having really bad graphical problems, no softkeys, and stuff.

The latest 23064 GWES has working Menu Buttons, softkeys, checkboxes, etc... but radio buttons in Volume control are old school.

I don't really see anything new in this rom then what I already had. I think I'll continue to use my 23060 rom where everything worked.

With the one from 23049 works, trust me. The problem with this gwes is toolbar icons/text selected (default_toolbarText/IconBubbleButtonDisabled.png) is that the icon is not the one from .png, insteed its a messed up one

Your supposed to kill cprog.exe using advanced task manager or dot freds and then replace cprog.exe in the windows dir and also the dll. I cooked mine straight in to the rom.

Now i see that the problem was not gwes.exe but gwes.exe.0409.mui which it seems is responsible with toolbar graphic problem.

WMReloc 1.01 for WM6.5 doesn't reloc properly. The best thing to do is to use the platformrebuilder tool and make your own batch scripts. This way you can still use the old style cooking way + you get a proper reloc :)

Attached is the copy of wmreloc_II you refer too. But actually, I think your statement should read the other way based off of my experiance with the two. I was able to cook 6.5 native roms with wmreloc_6.5 without issue. wmreloc_II is the one that failed for me. But here it is for you to try if you would like. :)

i didn't found the problem.

I work on SYS/XIP 23420 with Gwes.exe from 23052...

This is the Problem:

- Missing Shortcuts in 2 generated folders in the startmenü

Explanation:

- I have different Folders in german startmenue
Microsoft, Appz, Multimedia, Phone, Verbindungen, Setup, Titanium
everything works great...

but for some days...
in the folder "phone" and "multimedia" are only shown 3 shortcuts, but it must many more, why 3 not 4 or 2 ???

i have checked everything...
i have my own icons for my folders (reg tweak security with empty icon.lnk)...but this is not the problem...
i have make changes to initflashfiles.dat (but not with the corrupt folder "phone" and "multimedia"...

i have no idea why several shortcuts are missed, the application are available and starts correct through the titanium launcher...
only the shortcuts is missing, only in this two folders, the others works perfect...

does my memory is not clean, i have read about this problem ???

only niggle I have with the showcase based fix is that the bottom bar is over-layed on the screen during landscape photo and music tab on the latest leo builds..

1. create a txt file and named it initflashfiles.txt and put it on your OEM.
2. add this line Directory("target location"):-File("link file","source location")
e.g. Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"):-File("Task Manager.lnk","\Windows\Task Manager.lnk")

when i press power off button and put the phone to sleep, i cannot get it back from sleep.
no matter how many times i press power button but the screen doesnt lights up. then the only way is to reset the device.

Some Diamond users (possibly others) have reported issues with Showcase and the newer systems. Email and SMS often freeze the phone and you have to soft reset.

By default, you have to tab and hold the "X" buton. There is a registry entry to change that.

You need to recook with the 23049 module. Replacing gwes.exe on a running rom is a bad idea. ;)

It actually works sometimes (surprising, I know). Copying the file into \windows with total commander and soft resetting will get the updated gwes taking over. But I agree, it's better to cook it in.

In advanced phone options I get this dll, but I do nothing, my theory is that these log [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting] entries that should be in the default WinMo phone.

You may have Widgets cooked into your ROM - Try removing those, there are 3 under SYS.

Anyone have the actual gwes.exe from the 23049 build? I found the modules, but want the actual executable. Thanks. 23047 seems a little unstable to me and want to check out the later.

I believe a zip with the .exe is some pages back, posted by bogy16 and including the modules.

I use the gwes.exe from 23047 because it included all of the graphical upgrades including the Volume button. 23049, if I remember correctly, went back to the old volume graphic. I've been running the 23047 gwes.exe in my latest 23060 rom since day 1 and it runs perfect. I don't think there has been a complete gwes.exe since.

As for the MSN Money and Weather widget... I simply exclude them. Neither one of them are really any good. The weather one actually sucks. Just cook in the Marketplace so you users can download the various apps they want. The Weatherbug app is actually pretty awesome, shows radar and actual pictures from the weather towers.

Can someone with a working Adobe Flash Lite see if you have any keys in HKCR or HKCR\CLSID for an application type MSXML2.XSLTemplate.3.0? If so, can you post those keys? I'm not sure if this is a bad Adobe Flash Lite build with my 23053 sys, a bug in the application itself or something else strange with my device. If you want to go the extra mile, tell me what .rgu or .provxml in SYS creates this key or value - I can't find it.

When I go to a page with Flash content, one of two things happens. I either get an out of memory message (even when I have 30MB - 40MB free) or I get an error that Windows could not retrieve a valid progID of Class: MSXML2.XSLTemplate.3.0.

I'm running a CDMA TP with native 6.5 kernel, visual kitchen. I think I probably moduled a few things in the Flash Lite package and perhaps that mangled something.

I'm also wondering if the Flash Player for Pocket PC on Adobe's site (released June 3, 2009) is newer, older, different or what. The cab doesn't set any registry values - only installs seven files...

Attached is the copy of wmreloc_II you refer too. But actually, I think your statement should read the other way based off of my experiance with the two. I was able to cook 6.5 native roms with wmreloc_6.5 without issue. wmreloc_II is the one that failed for me. But here it is for you to try if you would like. :)

WMReloc II one that you posted I've never tried. WMReloc 1.01 which is most likely the one you were also using works. However I mentioned that it doesn't realoc properly. Try cooking again with it, flash the ROM to your phone and try activesync I doubt it will work. Not only that the system was acting weird.

EDIT: Anyhow platformrebuilder beats the hell out of using WMReloc. If you are adept in writing batch scripts, then you can still cook the old way. Visual Kitchen seemed way too messy and cluttered for me.

I have not been able to get activesync to work on the last 2 builds. COM 3 or 4 (23060 /23414). i had to replace the active sync files from 23053 to get it to work.

If you download it from ppcgeeks you will need to fix attributes of sys packages before cocking by a .cmd patch provided in the download page

it is dumpable but never usable - PRB realocks all modules so u can never use them again only files :D ervius tested some tools for reenabling modules but it failed as i know(tested) :D it

Krazy was right, I was referring to how a dumped ROM doesn't package. But as far as the DSM_Editor goes, I've never used it. I will definitely be looking into that today. :)

I never tried 23063 but i think there is only a day or two between releases. Better off waiting for the next release i think cos the way 23064 was released was rather messy - not like the usual Da_G/Tom releases!!!

Not sure what pictures you're looking at - see the first posting of this thread - you will see start button on bottm left. If you mean the word 'start' at top left, thats just the page title, ie: when your in start menu, if your in settings, it will say settings etc etc etc.

I have 23064 and no problems with the msgbox buttons. 23064 does have the new contacts in it although I do have problems adding new contacts, when i click new contact\outlook contact (or whichever) it just goes back to the contact page. Not sure if its just my build though, couldn't be bothered trying to fix it til next release - i did import the new contacts into my previous 23060 build and it worked without problems.

This can be caused by the attributes on the .provxml files in the dump folder being incorrect. Any *.provxml should be hidden, read-only and system. If you are using a SYS and/or OEM for the PPC Kitchen in another kitchen, these attributes are likely messed up in your other kitchen. Joojoobee66 keeps a link in his signature for a utility he created to fix the attributes after building the dump directory - this must be done before your kitchen runs imgfsfromdump.

Another cause can be a corrupted boot.hv in your XIP or boot.hv not matching boot.rgu in your ROM folder (if using a BuildOS kitchen).
